The doughnuts are HUGE and absolutely delicious BUT the price is unimpressive... the bacon Jalape?o breakfast burrito, also delicious... but after getting a dozen doughnuts and one burrito, there was no way I could afford the delicious looking chicken, that also had previously listed sides now crossed out but selling for the same price so, less food, same high price. Idk ????? Walmart is right across the street and cheap af
Today was National Donut Day and I stopped here to get a dozen for our office. Everyone loved them! Some saying it?s the best donut they?ve had. The staff was very friendly and they are reasonably priced for such great quality. Definitely will be back to try all the other yummy items on the menu.
I can?t say enough good things about this donut shop! The owners went above and beyond to accommodate my daughter?s egg allergy by making special vegan donuts for her birthday. It meant the world to me that she could not only enjoy a treat that was safe for her, but also share the same donuts with her entire class. Inclusion like that matters so much, and the kindness and care the owners showed us won?t be forgotten. The donuts were delicious, the service was incredible, and we will absolutely be back. Than
Update from 6-7-24 National Donut Day! The best and only kolaches I've found in Tucson... they are phenomenal! Also, I just got my daughter's approval on their plain glazed donuts. They are most like the donuts we love in Texas!!! Original post: Great news for any fellow Texans or others who love the kolache! The new owners of Young Donuts offer cheese or jalape?o sausage kolaches on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only. Born and raised here in Tucson, Terry and her husband Robert learned to make donuts
These are easily the best donuts around and very well priced. I cannot wait to go back for more and try their burritos as they smelt AMAZING! Service made me feel like family.
The owner is the sweetest! I live in Phoenix, but I had about two hours to kill while waiting for the Western Passport Center to finish up with my passport. I was feeling stressed when I entered, but I instantly felt the space's warmth and coziness. Whether you are an out-of-towner or a local, if you are in the area, Rise and Shine is a must-stop. Their donuts are amazing and don't get me started on their fried chicken. Some of the best I've had in Arizona. Also, the coffee snob in me was thoroughly satis
We finally made it! As a couple of foodies, seeing this spot all over social media had us placing it on our roadtrip destination spots when visiting Tucson, AZ. It did not disappoint. The selection was impressive, and was only surpassed by the freshness and deliciousness of the doughnuts. My sister said she had not had a buttermilk bar like the one we got in quite sometime. If you get a chance, grab you a massive cinnamon roll. We will be back.
The new owner's baking is perfection. The fritters' spices could actually be tasted, and they weren't doughy and even had a bit of crunch. The old fashioned buttermilk and filled donuts were just as top-notch.
You could feel the positive vibes as you entered the little shop! My daughter and I stopped in to try a donut and coffee. Staff were so welcoming and the donuts were delicious without the greasy texture that some shops have.
Oh my goodness this place was so good. They have a little bit of everything. Food smells so delicious. The donuts are excellent. Try one of these burritos the breakfast burritos were so good
This place has by far the freshest tastiest donuts, oh and let?s not forget the BEST fried chicken in Tucson and made to order! On top of the food being great it?s super clean and everyone is super nice and welcoming !
They often sell their donuts fast because they're AMAZING. If they sell out, just ask them if they'll make the donuts you want. And the chicken is on display behind the counter, with their delicious breakfast burritos and sandwiches.
I?m so very confused by the positive reviews of this place. I literally had the worst donut experience of my life here today. Every single donut I bought- 7 or so- was completely inedible. Yes, I went in on a Wednesday at 2pm, and yes, I could tell the donuts weren?t fresh. It would have been nice if they?d had a halfway fresh batch and decent selection available seeing as they?re open until 6pm. Oh well, I thought, I?ve heard rave reviews, I?ll still give them a try, opting for a couple glazed, a couple bl
This is the only donut shop that rivals La Estrella donuts. If you are a donut connoisseur, I definitely recommend! And not to detract from the awesome donuts, but their salsa is amazing as well.
Hands down, best donuts I have ever had! I was not much of a donut person until I had theirs! My personal favorite is the Boston cream pie! Everyone in the family has a favorite at Young Donuts. The two owners, Terry and Robert have done a marvelous job and are always welcoming! They have endless options of donuts, and huge cinnamon rolls. They also have breakfast sandwiches, burritos and fried chicken. If you are passing by, make sure to stop in, you won?t be disappointed!
Okay but a little dry & I don?t care for glaze so I had an old fashioned one & another cake donut & both were a little dry I used to go to BoSa donuts & they were always fresh until I read a review with a picture of an employers hair on top of the frosting & that just totally grossed me out that it even made me not want to go back there no matter how fresh they were that was just disgusting!!!!! Whatever happened to hairnets or keeping their hair short or pulled back? No excuse for that!!!!!!
Young had been my go-to donut shop forever. I was so sorry the previous owners had to sell the shop because of health reasons. I returned recently and was shocked by the incredible price hike. It had gone up from about $13/dozen to Krispy Kreme price point. I just wonder why the new owners thought this was the right decision to make! (KK pretty much became irrelevant because of their products and prices. ) Quality and taste are still okay, 8/10 compared to before, but almost $2/donut made me scratch m
The lady working was so sweet and friendly from the second we came in. The donuts were so delicious and the pricing was great. Would definitely recommend popping in here if your in the area.
A lovely place! They do more than donuts and sell our FAST!! The earlier you get here the better! They also have kolaches which satisfies the Texan side of me
The facelift on the inside is really nice and fresh and the people running this shop are extraordinarily nice. Take a few minutes and fill a box from this local small business - it comes with friendly service and their rotation of treats is the best up here on the northeast side.
This place is so fantastic! The donuts are delicious pillows of flavor and texture and the service is friendly and efficient. And the Broaster chicken - best fried chicken I've had in years! The meat is so flavorful and moist - even the breast! The exterior is crispy and not greasy. The potato salad is yummy too! Here for my second time this week - will definitely be back. A definite Tucson treasure - don't miss it!yuuu
Went to Young?s Donuts for our first time. What a friendly atmosphere. The lady who helped us was so nice and gave us free samples. She even through in a donut for our dog to try. We bought one of the BEST breakfast burritos I have ever had and some yummy donuts. We will definitely be back!
Picked up take out, the owners were lovely. So friendly and knowledgeable. The chicken was delicious, the donuts are to die for! I will eat here again.
If you want to treat yourself to soft fluffy doughnuts non greasy and generous portions for your money
We arrived at 915am on a Sunday. The person behind the counter was nice; she popped an extra donut in our half dozen box. But the donuts weren't the best. The donut holes were almost crunchy, my daughter's glazed donut was dry (she only ate a couple bites before leaving it!), and my boston cream was not only dry but I had eaten almost half before I got a bite of the cream. The cream itself was good though!
Wish I could give a higher rating. The donuts were pretty good, the owner was friendly but I was absolutely shocked by the price. 6 months ago I went in and got 12 donuts for $20. The other day I went in and got 5 donuts for $15.75!! Doubling the price in such a short amount of time seems to be a bit drastic. The girl at the checkout also seemed very displeased that I decided not to tip, even though she made no effort to enhance service in any way. Quite disappointing.
The shop is a bit hard to find but very cute on the inside. The donuts are really good too. The chef is really nice and has a lot of creative doughnuts ??
I used to go there every once in a while and last we went we met new owners, they were quite friendly and welcoming! The only disappointment is the price of them, we had a half a dozen for little over 15 dollars. I would go back there but will definitely make it a less than often.
Delicious and great variety of donuts for a great price!! There's other tasty food made throughout the day as well
If you love fritters... ???? Great service, friendly. Lots of delicious and unique options.
Delicious variety of donuts and crunchy fried chicken. Great with coffee or hot chocolate.
I have to give them 5 stars, but I really want to keep them a secret because I want my donuts. We come here from the north side of town just about every Saturday on the way to a Chiro appointment. The donuts are so fresh, soft and delicious. The owners are the best, they truly care about the donuts they make. They only use the best ingredients and the donuts do not have that old oil aftertaste. You know then one. That taste from other shops that makes you wonder what your tasting. My favorite is the plain c
Omg these donuts are actual heaven ?? The customer service is always cheerful and friendly, but even if they smacked me, I'd come back for the pillowy dreams they make ?? Definitely a Tucson gem, gonna tell everyone to try them!
The cutest couples I have ever met, and they also make donuts. Must try everything.
Best doughnuts in Tucson. Excellent selection, presentation and they are local. Bye bye Dunkin!
So I heard about this place from a fellow RVer. I only purchased a half a dozen donuts, but the New owners were really fantastic people. Made you feel welcome as soon as you open the door. they gave me a sample of their salsa that they made. That was a mistake because now I want to go back tomorrow morning and have some thing with the salsa on it. But seriously their donuts are fantastic much better than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin.
Went there 2 years ago, not impressed, but went back in June 2024 complete turn around. NEW OWNERS... Fresh new donuts in the case. Very friendly staff. Tucson has a few good shops and Youngs is right up there. Don't wait til they are closing the doors get them early for the best selection
First time patron. Had my granddaughter visiting and wanted a special treat for breakfast so we needed some apple fritters. Warmly welcomed upon entry by friendly pleasant staff. The store is noticably clean and free of any unpleasant sights or smells. We made contact with Terry who was a customer service Rockstar, Terry made my granddaughter feel like the center of the universe. Shortly afterwards we made contact with Robert, Terry's husband, who is the baker. Terry and Robert are locals who recently acqui
I spent some time in Southeast Texas and this shop reminds me of my time there. I got a glazed donut and a chocolate buttermilk donut and they are absolutely heavenly. I originally went there for a kolache but they only make them Friday through Sunday and unfortunately don't sell too many which is a shame. Tucson has gotta get on the kolache train!! I haven't been able to find another place out here that sells them. The lady that helped me was really nice, and the price was reasonable. Definitely check this
Has ALWAYS been great. We've moved twice on the Eastside in 10 years, and this will always be our donut place. If I head to other parts of town in the morning, I'll get some donuts on the way to make others jealous that we have this place on our side of town. One review here says the donuts weren't exactly great at 2pm....such a surprise! ?? Get up early and get a fresh, delicious donut. If it's past noon, go get lunch. You already missed breakfast. Support a fantastic, local family business, and don't forg
I stopped in this morning for the 1st time. The lady at the counter was SUPER nice and patient. We got a machaca burrito, chorizo burrito, and a tiger tail donut. All very good. Would definitely recommend!!
Excellent family-owned homemade and just genuinely sweet people check it out!
RISE 'N SHINE DONUTS AND MORE aka Young Donuts is under new ownership and many of these NEGATIVE reviews are pertaining to the OLD Ownership. That being said.... let me start off by stating that I was really NEVER a donut person...?UNTIL NOW!!! Terry and Robert make the best tasting deep-fried balls of love that I have ever sunk my teeth into. Especially the old-fashioned donuts... Oh my are they GLOR-I-OUS deliciousness!! We are always warmly greeted every time we come in (Robert usually in the back pre
Wednesday morning 5:30 AM 5/29/24 went in to get a few Donuts. I was greeted by a sweet lady She informed me that the chorizo burritos would be done shortly the shop smelled amazing.MeanwhilebInordered my Donuts and paid got home everything was absolutely delicious .The burrito was very filling and the Donuts were fabulous. I WILL DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK.GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND 1ST TIME EXPERIENCE
Great selection of doughnuts, friendliest service, really uplifting atmosphere! $9.50 for 4 doughnuts was just slightly on the expensive side, but the lady working there made up for it with excellent service. I'd go back again. It's a place worthy of supporting local business imo??
Donuts are the bomb! The ladies are really sweet and patient
This donut shop is awesome! Great donuts, but even better breakfast items like burritos, kolaches, stuffed croissants, etc. I stopped every chance I get and there?s always something new to try! the owners are behind the counter and always super friendly!
We strictly got donuts. Old world vibe. Every donut we got was delicious. Keep it up!
Very small place. They were out of a lot of stuff. Did see where they would have any chicken.
I am so confused. I used to go here exclusively for donuts. They were always fresh and always the best in Tucson. Another donut shop (Bosa Donuts) opened up a little closer to me, and so I started going there. They are fantastic. So this past weekend I decided to give Youngs a try again. I ate half of one, and a bite out of two other donuts. I could not finish them. My family said that they thought they were unedible, and we threw out the whole dozen. I don't think we will be going back to Youngs. Too bad,
This is not my ideal donut shop. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love doughnuts!! This shop, however, was not my cup of tea. I am disheartened that the donuts that I tried here, which was a plethora of them, were all very distasteful. I mean, they had absolutely no good taste about them as if there is not enough sugar in the dough or too much salt, I'm not sure. I want the doughnuts here to be fabulous due to the fact that Tucson has very little for doughnut shops especially on the East Side but they jus
The owner is wonderful. She was welcoming full of sunshine. The donuts were fresh and the jalapeno kolache was savory. Will definitely recommend and will be back! See you soon. #shoplocal
My go to donut place. I just went at 1:30 pm and they were stocked with fresh donuts. $17.50 / dozen + 2 on the house. My favorite is the original sugar dusted donut. I want to try their chicken next time!
Young's has a huuuuuge selection of the freshest doughnuts I have ever had. It is affordable and delicious.
The chicken is so delicious my husband compared to almost lucky wishbone. It was breaded made on the spot an donuts are amazing... the customer service is great as well ?????? I'll Def go back
If I could leave zero stars I would but Google only let's you post a review if you leave at least one star . This was our first time coming here and not impressed at all! Very little selection to choose from. Not fresh at all we bought a box of assorted and when we got home to eat them they were hard and dry like they had been sitting out for days definitely not going back there. Would not recommend if you're looking for freshly baked doughnuts!
I have been wanting to try this place since I saw it on a list of Tucson's best donuts. Finally that opportunity happened and we popped in around 1:30PM on a Sunday afternoon to grab a dozen. Perhaps because it was in the early afternoon on a Sunday, they had a limited selection. There was still enough of a selection to get a nice variety. The donuts themselves are definitely light and airy, even in the afternoon I thought the taste and quality were on point. The gentleman behind the counter was very n
We stopped in for donuts and left with donuts and chicken! Both were delicious. The donuts are light and very tasty. I had the maple glaze and the blueberry cake, my grandson had the chocolate twist and a chicken leg. I took chicken tenders home for lunch. The tenders were so moist, lightly breaded, and fried just right. What a great idea to add Broaster Chicken to an already great donut shop!
Just went here for the second time and I love this place. The Apple fritters and chicken are soooooo good. The lady that works there is a sweetheart too! Couldn?t ask for a better local food business. If you want quality food at a great price then come here!
I woke up this morning wanting donuts but didn't have time to stop before work. All day I kept thinking about donuts. Stopped at the first donut store on the way home and was so thankful that I was not able to stop at the normal store. These are the best ones I have ever had. So soft and light and just the right amount of sweet. To top it off the lady who was there was so kind. Young will be my new stop.
Kolaches abd donuts were excellent
Best place to get donuts in Tucson, hands down. The donuts are fresh, light, sweet, and slightly crispy just the way they should be (not to mention that they're super cheap!). The owners are friendly, and will add a couple donut holes to your bag just to be nice! I highly recommend Young Donuts, but just remember to bring cash as they don't take cards.
Ranked best donuts in AZ! Super cheap, with great variety. Cash-only. Not into the weirdest donuts like Voodoo, but easily worth getting a dozen. Really - you'll be shocked by the low prices if you've visited top donut places in other states.
Try the broasted chicken! We spoke with the woman behind the counter for awhile, and she mentioned that they marinate the chicken for 12 hours before cooking it. It?s delicious and juicy with crispy breading. They also have chicken tenders but we only tried the broasted chicken, sausage roll, and blueberry donut. Will definitely be back! Great, friendly service and delicious food.
You sometimes don't know how good a place is until you have to go elsewhere. Now in st louis region, donuts heavy and greasy. Young donuts were always light fluffy and absolutely delicious. This shop makes some of the all time best donuts anywhere. I have searched and searched for donuts as good as this shop makes. No luck.
Had some really good tasting doughnuts, the 1st one was like cake crumbles with blueberry jam like stuff inside soo good. Then had a glaze bacon 1 with real cooked bacon on top, and to top all this goodness off we tried there Broaster chicken it is so good the crust was nice and crunchy and inside the chicken was moist and juicy. The gentleman behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the cooking process, and he was right it was delicious ,we will be coming back for more of both.
I?ve been to all the highly reviewed donut shops in Tucson. Young?s is definitely one of the best. If you like apple fritters, you better get there early. They only take cash so be prepared. Can?t go wrong here for a great donut.
I've been on the search for good fried chicken in Tucson, and have been very disappointed until I found place. But far the best fried chicken in town!!!
i went in here yesterday since I had been wanting some donuts recently and decided to try it. Won't be back, had to get money from the lobby atm since they don't take card. The woman working popped out and saw I was there and went back to the back. I stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes at least waiting for someone to come back out and I decide to just leave. I'll take my money somewhere else with better service. The selection looked pretty regular, like anything I could have gotten at a general food s
WE LOVE THIS PLACE! BEST Apple Fritters ever! The owner is a sweetheart! Always greets us with a smile and is si sweet to my grandson and calls him by his name.??
Best donuts I have had in Tucson. The apple fritter is still gooey on the inside with appely goodness. Big fan of the strawberry cream cheese croissant and the traditional buttermilk. Totally recommend!
Idk how to be nice about this - the donuts we did eat were good enough, but not great. We found a hair on one, and the filled donuts were dry. Like I said, the ones we did eat were good enough and the lady who helped us was nice but hair and toasty dry donuts aren't great
These donuts are fantastic! Recommend checking them out. Great service too.
If you want old school hand made donuts, this is the place. Sonny is outstanding.
Quite possibly the best donuts I have ever eaten. Super fresh, reasonable prices, a wonderful selection, and generous on the fritter size. The place was clean and the woman behind the counter was very friendly. We will return!
Tasty donuts in the am and yummy fried chicken in the pm!
Wonderful chicken (best in town) & great donuts
The Doughnuts were Amazing i Go every morning and I?ve been getting the same thing for years . And there Fry Chicken is great
I feel like this place is such a part of Tucson. Whenever I want donuts this is the place. Always delicious and everyone's always so nice. I have never had a single bad experience here. The plain glazed? ???? So good.
First visit. I was pleased. I'll be back
Absolutely incredible donuts. The apple fritters alone will make you want to trade your first born for another bite. The old fashioned's will break your heart. I sometimes have to force myself to keep driving by this place. Get here. Now. Kudos to y'all at Young Donut Shop??
I was hoping for a local donut shop that I could/would support in spite of Dunkin Donuts down the street. Unfortunately, even though this place has cheaper donuts, it's not clean at all. The first thing my daughter say when she came in was a fly, flying around in the front glass case. Not a very inspiring site considering that is the case with all of the donuts in there. The floors and tables were also very dirty, and the back light in the kitchen was off, which made the place seem empty and lacking support
Best traditional donuts i have been eating them for a long time, Zig is a regular ??, loves the donuts and service. The fact that you can tell they work ALL the time and probably are just barely making ends meet, they are very humble and treat you well, Zig can tell that in their home country this is first class. I read a couple neg reviews about the door open and no ac, yes im sure they dont mind conserving so they don't throw whatever money they have to TEP.. Giv them some biz people and we will get those
All I can say, is I showed up to dirty windows, a locked door, and no hours of operation posted.
Great doughnuts, apple fritters and gracious friendly service! Anyone who dislikes this place is only mad because they must feel entitled to be able to use their credit card everywhere they go. Hands down this is the best doughnut shop in Tucson!!!!
I think they have the best apple fritter. No this is not the fritter but, this ? is really good too. A Nice surprise awaits, you will find an extra dounut. They seem a bit more home made taste.
It was our first time there. The owner was an inviting gentleman who explained his process on how he makes his chicken (which is AMAZING). We also tried the new kolaches and they were very good.
Pass by this place for years. Have always heard it's good. So I stopped in today and grabbed a dozen. I was not disappointed. Donuts are good. I will be returning.
