Winchell's

This was my husband's and my first visit here and I have to say that I was just not impressed. The interior was very dark whereas it should always be well-lit and inviting. I tried to ask the employee behind the counter what a couple of the different donuts were but he didn't understand much English so the language barrier was quite frustrating. The donuts were okay...nothing special.

I've been going to this Winchell's for many years since early 2000 and the gentleman first bought it. I remember he turned it around and it was just fantastic throughout the years. It's kind of slowly deteriorated over the last 5 years. I would say it's going farther down than it was before. The donuts I bought last night were dry overcooked and just not appetizing not to mention it was 16 bucks for our six donuts so I guess we're seeing inflation in that place too. This is an Omaha tradition. Immediately south of Krispy Kreme it always makes me wonder why people even bother with the too sweet stuff next door. These donuts are absolutely perfect. They are fluffy and big and one dozen is 14! Grab some truly fresh squeezed OJ for a treat. Worth leaving the house with negative wind chills and driving 20 min each way for. I mean.... just yum. You know you want one.

I haven't had Winchells in years, I purchased a few different donuts. The Apple Fritters were the best, they are large and full of flavor.

Omg... never had their donuts before but holy smokes! I'll definitely be returning. Donuts were super soft and seemed larger than other places and weren't as sweet... it really was a great balance of a wonderful donut.

Their breakfast burrito, along with being absolutely delicious, is around ten dollars and feeds a family of four. There?s enough sausage and eggs in that thing to make you question if you ever want to try a burrito elsewhere again. Their donuts are always fresh, priced fairly, and huge, as well as scrumptious. We enjoyed our first experience coming to Winchell's. We love all of the Halloween decorations indoors and outdoor - even my 3 year old thought the decorations were cool! Donuts were delicious! We look forward to our next visit. ??

When I went here for the first time a guy rushed me along and wouldn't let me pick out my donuts without a rush and the second time I went to this establishment we ordered some I guess they were like crispy sourdough donuts and both of them had hair in them. I don't know if somebody was hurt in that place but that is sure a lot of hair to be in some donut mix! My favorite bagel place was closed so I came to Winchell?s for a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and it was very good. Good service, and great doughnuts too!

Good breakfast sandwich and fresh squeezed orange juice. The donut was decent. The ranchero burrito was meh, and sliced ham on the burrito rolled and packed awkwardly.

I got a donut and it was as delicious as it could be! The person behind the counter spoke little English. I was very disappointed to learn that they have WiFi however it is not for customers.

We drive 20 minutes just to go to this specific donut shop. It?s my all time favorite. We?ve never had a bad experience. They?re so sweet and truly care about their customers and their shop.

We stopped in on Christmas morning, they're open everyday, incredible looking donuts and the staff all looked like a sweet family, ordered a dozen donuts they give you 14 in a dozen! They're huge, crunchy and soft, every donut was great!! Also ordered bagel melts with bacon and avocado, my kids loved them! Get a dozen donuts you won't regret it!!

First time experience here was amazing! Quality service all around. I wish I lived closer. My boyfriend and I stopped by to grab a quick bite after his therapy session at Athletico. At first I thought it was just a donut shop but they had signs on their windows showing they also do burritos and bagel sandwiches. We were greeted so nicely by a gentleman and a lady. Winchell's was a hallmark of my childhood in Oklahoma City. I hadn't seen one in forever, so my husband and I had to go to this one in Omaha when we were there. The donuts were delicious and nostalgic.

The donuts here are fresh and taste good. I was disappointed with the poor selection of filled donuts here. In addition there was a tiny amount of filling in the filled donuts. They had three types of filled donuts - Boston Creme and Raspberry and Apple. I chose the Boston Creme which actually turned out to taste like Banana pudding once I ate it. It has been a long time since I have been to Winchell's since moving far away, but it was still great. They still have an excellent selection of donuts and they are still delicious. The shop has been under new ownership for the past two years and the owners were their working and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this Winchell's!!!

Charged a dollar surcharge to use debit card and didn't let me know. I bought a bag of donut holes which I had to bring back because they were so hard. They reluctantly gave me my money back in cash but when I see the charge on my account it was a dollar more. These guys are swindlers. I don't recommend this place at all.

Best donuts in Omaha, and holy cow the bagel breakfast sandwiches are shockingly good!!! The sugar twist donuts are like funnel cake, and they actually have chopped peanuts available as a topping for their cake donuts!!! Side note; be sure to drop in around Halloween, the decorations are spectacular!

Wenchells was a staple when I was young. Had not seen one since the 1980s. Definitely not the same. Was disappointed... donuts were dry ... stale tasting. Sadly won't go back.

The last time I went here, the employee was very pleasant and helpful, which was not a thing in the past, but the Halloween donuts were adorable. You could tell that someone put a lot of time and effort into decorating them. However, their donuts were just not good. There was so much oil in them that it was dripping in my mouth and running down my chin. The donut box was completely covered in oil. They use to be good, but maybe they sold. I went there a a month or two ago and the worker was sweating, dripping down his face and wiping it when getting the donuts. Went there last week and the worker partially placed his hand in his nose as if itching it while I was browsing donuts. Not sure if the same guy, but very unsanitary and gross. Done going here.

This place is customer service and food is always the best.. the coffee come the donuts, but then for breakfast sandwiches, bam! What do you think they couldn't go any further when they give you personal customer service with a smile and treat you with the utmost care. I've been coming here 15 years and even if losing weight is more important, I still will keep coming back. LOL

Winchell's makes my favorite donuts. They're big and yeasty, with just the right texture. Not too light, not too dense. This location is always well-stocked with a great selection of fresh items, and the service is always fast and friendly. The customer area is small and plain, but that's what I like about it; it has a retro, no-frills feel.

The best place to get a donut on this side of town! It?s the last old school donut spot in west Omaha. The people who work there are always friendly and open all the time! They are constantly stocked with great, thick donuts! It?s a nice cozy atmosphere with caring employees. Much better donuts than bigger chain places that have taken over.

Woof, this place is rough. The cake donuts are horrible, the other donuts are okay but expensive. You can get much better donuts right next door. The biggest issue is the staff/atmosphere though. Always feels like you're in a bit of danger. The staff are always real mad that you're bothering them. I feel like this place stayed in business because they're open 24 hours, but now there's Hurts for that, so why not go there?

Winchell's was a nice trip down memory lane as it was one of my Dad's favorite places. True to form, the service was still fast, and the donuts were delicious as usual. The weather was so nice that we sat outside at one of the wrought iron table and chair sets. Extra points for one of the guys there. He followed us across the street to Bakers because our tire had such a big bulge that it was either going to blow out or go flat.

We wanted to try something different than the norm. We are kind of ?? junkies. Anyway, I ordered a dozen and was told, our dozens aren't qty 12, they're qty 14. I mean, okay, give me a reason to eat more donuts. ?? We got the apple fritter and OMG. SO GOOD!! We also got all the filled options. I do not recommend the lemon, but the Bavarian creme, apple, and raspberry were positively delicious! ???? We will definitely be back again!

We went Thanksgiving morning because it also happened to be my son?s birthday. I was grateful that they were open. The staff was super friendly even though they were super busy. We were pleased to find out that the Winchell?s dozen is actually 14 donuts! Our kids loved the donuts. Thanks for giving the birthday boy his ??wish!

I was in town and heard there was a Winchell's in the area. I haven't been to one in 30 years growing up in CA. I was told this is the last remaining Winchell's. Donuts still the best. Lots of nostalgia.

24-Hour donut place serving some of the best donuts in the entire city. I'm not even joking when I say I have had a hankering for a donut specific to this place more than once at 3:00 in the morning. And I was served.

I work second shift and had a donut craving at midnight after getting off work. I was THRILLED that Winchell's was still open. Great selection of fresh donuts at reasonable prices. I will definitely be back! ??????

Very good food, customer service was good, i feel so sorry for the owners that I encountered this, but I saw what looked to be 2 cockroaches crawling on the floor. I'm not a professional bug identifier, but they looked identical to roaches.& You know what that means. If you like more protein by all means, but not worth getting sick over IMO.

The gentleman was very rude and looked annoyed every time we asked a question, it was our first time there so I was asking what certain donuts were made of and at one point he rolled his eyes and said that's the same kind as the one you already chose, but they were in different trays and several trays away from each other so we didn't want to assume they were the same. This specific donut shop has been a long time favorite. The staff is very nice. The quality is always great! I've never seen them run out of stock. I have always loved Winchell's. Their sandwiches are very delicious. My favorite and "go to" is the chocolate long John.

Used to come here late night for a bagel sandwich. Came in and the dude said they only served it between 8-5 I asked when they changed that. Then he said he didn't speak English in English? After speaking to me in English? I asked again and he walked away. Fair enough shops a block away

We stopped by for a boston cream and a raspberry donut. They were both delicious! Especially the fillings in the donuts. They were also larger than most donuts so we split one and had the other later.

Came here for the first time today and I am disappointed I have not been here before! Amazing food. So fresh and perfect! Staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. The bagels are fresh and soft. I then went about 25 years without eating a donut and one day I stumbled into the location on SOUTH 120th. There I was greeted by a very nice gentlemen whom I believe to be the owner. This is my all time favorite doughnut place, and I've grown up on their old fashioned's, however the last 2-3X I took my son they didn't have any of the old fashioned w/pink frosting and they only had 6 old fashioned chocolate's, which I bought all of. Total let down when that's the sole reason we go there!!

When they are fresh Winchell's donuts are some of the best in Omaha. We love the pineapple fritter (which no one else serves), but they are usually sold out which is disappointing. If fresh, the eclair donut (chocolate long John sliced down the middle and then whipped creme added) is delicious. Lesser picked donuts are usually dry and not removed from the case in a timely manner so pay close attention as you make your selection. I'm telling you right now! The absolute best doughts and pastries in Omaha! Their picture inside says "With a doughnut in the left and right hand, anything is possible ". Bad service at this location. Lack of staff was part of it, but the one person I saw was watching a TV in the back and seemed quite put out that a customer was interrupted his show. The only thing he said to us was "is that it?". Which he said every time we picked a donut. Last, the donuts were flavorless and stale. I will not return.

Love the chocolate old fashioned with glaze and chocolate chips! It's my favorite and I get it whenever I can, if it's not sold out! I just arrived and I was sad since it looked like they were out, and I asked if they still made them. We make a point of driving across town to Winchell's due to the consistent quality and selection of their cake donuts. Being open 24 hours it seems like everything is always fresh. We mixed cake donuts, cruellers, and apple fritters on this trip.
