Voodoo Doughnut

Voodoo Doughnut

Reviews Summary

Voodoo Doughnuts receives mostly positive feedback, with many praising the unique flavors, fresh doughnuts, and friendly staff. High ratings highlight delicious options like the Old Dirty Bastard and vegan varieties, with some calling it worth the wait or drive. However, a few criticize overpriced or overly sweet doughnuts, inconsistent quality (stale or underbaked items), and long lines during peak hours. Service is generally excellent, though some note disorganization with online orders. While most enjoy the creative offerings, a minority find flavors artificial or too sugary. The Seattle location maintains the brand's fun vibe but has room for improvement in consistency and efficiency.

These are incredible! Hands down the best donuts in Seattle. Most other spots around here are overpriced and pretty generic. Voodoo Donuts are not only eye-catching but they?re also packed with layers of flavor. Even the packaging is on point. Solid 10/10!

Tried out the famous Voodoo Doughnuts that everyone talked about, I got the Raspberry Romeo, Old Dirt Bastard, and Mango Tango. Loveee their Raspberry Romeo, the fillings and the doughnut itself is not too sweet and their jam is sooo good, Old Dirt Bastard is a solid 7-8/10 for me is great, Mango Tango was my least fav because it was more sweeter than the other two donuts but thats cuz im not a tropical flavor type of person, with that conclusion it doesn?t mean their donuts isn?t good. I would def come bac

We tried the mango, the chocolate cake and the Voodoo donut. Loved the mango donut the best. It had a nice sweet and tart mango filling inside. The chocolate cake one was okay. The Voodoo one had a nice raspberry filling inside. Went on a Friday afternoon and there was a short line that moved quickly. Quick service inside. The shop is on a main, busy road and there is no parking outside. Prepare to park in one of the side streets and walk if driving here.

It?s about time Seattle got a Voodoo Donuts; after all, we?re not that far from Portland, where it all started. Creative, unconventional donuts are widely available nowadays, but there was a time when maple bacon bars, PB&J or mango donuts were a novelty, until Voodoo came on the scene. It?s great to see them still going strong after more than two decades. For nostalgic reasons, we went for the Homer and banana cream pie, but they have a lot of unusual flavors and the prices are pretty reasonable. If yo

I've tried several donuts from this place and over the months ive began to appreciate them more and more. This donut shop is still so unique despite becoming so popular. It took me a few tries, but I finally understand the hype. There are many aspects of this establishment and their offerings that are just great. Beware they are some pricey donuts, but you forsure get what you pay for. Despite being pricey for a donut, they aren't expensive enough to break the bank or pass up. One thing I noticed is that I

Love VooDoo. This is the third store I?ve visited. My order stays the same. Bacon maple and the Memphis fritter one. This store had a line outside but they all do. Wasn?t a bad wait. I did buy a hat and got donuts too. This store wasn?t big inside but it?s all good.

Not a fan of doughnuts so can't comment for them nor can I compare them to other brands; went to check out the hype. Doughnuts definitely look super cute and fun! The staff are very friendly and helpful too!

I have a very good experience of server in voodoo seattle. I dropped by last nite right after my dinner and i was lucky that there were no line and still had many doughnuts. I ordered Dozen of doughnut but i didn?t want some doughnut in the dozen menu. The male server (i am sorry.. i don?t know his name but he looks young Asian) was very kind that he changed 2 doughnuts to other that i wanted to try.. I really appreciate u and would love to visit thanks to u.

Got some doughnuts after dinner. Around 9:30pm on a Friday there was no line. The staff was super nice! The vegan glazed and vegan apple fritter were both VERY good. Will be back for sure!

I stumbled across this donut shop by accident and love the surprise it had inside. The flavors they come up with is spectacular but the donut and the taste itself was spot on good. If you have it had voodoo donuts before this is a must try.

The graceful delicacy of circular mounded dough, topped with delectable speckles of colorfully pigmented, and averagely shaped sprinkles is a staple of the journey throughout ones life. Voodoo Doughnut serves this journey, and offers a bright unique perspective to the world of such pastry. They call it a doughnut. It is a mysterious yet enticing treat, with a calming effect that brings forth elegance. I don?t know how they created it yet I was delighted by the extravagant taste that came as a result of su

These donuts were amazing. I got the maple bar, blueberry cake donut and sprinkle donut. The maple bar was crisp to a perfection. The blueberries taste like blueberries.!! I will be back. The line structure was a bit confusing at first. But aye.. also they have milk in the stores, cause online they only have oat milk.

I make sure to stop by the Portland voodoo Doughnuts every time I'm there, so I had to check this place out when they opened up near me We got the Dirt (a raised doughnut with vanilla frosting & oreo pieces), a Captain Crunch raised doughnut also with vanilla frosting, and a Sprinkles cake doughnut, again with vanilla frosting One thing common among all three doughnuts was the vanilla frosting was excellent. It doesn't taste artificial - rather it tastes like real vanilla and has a deep flavor profile to i

I've enjoyed the Portland and Denver locations and was happy to hear about this one opening! I waited for crowds to die down and came in the morning on a weekday???? The aesthetic is very ?cute?, it is a smaller space than the other locations. Not much room to stand, but the ordering process makes it easy to please. Some might find the music too loud. However, the ?????? did not disappoint!! A little softer than I'm used to them being. Seattle's menu is missing some flavors I love, but this is an excuse to

Good tasty donuts and lot of options they have . If you wish you can for Vudoo dozen as well which is reasonable and assorted as well. In whole of Seattle we his is only one store where you can find vudoo donuts no where else. If you are around try out. Parking is little difficult in this area plan well

These donuts are so fun. From what I?ve tried they?re not my absolute favorite, but they make up for it with the unique flavors and vegan options!

A good experience. I?ve been to a few Voodoos now in multiple locations and my main complaint is that they are always out of one or more of the doughnuts I?m wanting during that visit. That wasn?t the case this time, though we only bought 3 doughnuts. The staff were nice and patient as we didn?t know what we wanted when we entered. That?s one of the risks when there is no line haha. My spouse commented that while she doesn?t remember perfectly, these doughnuts seem to be much better than the doughnuts we ha

12/29/2024 I visited a shop in the Seattle area. The line was long but moved quickly, which was great. Parking is convenient?you can either park in front of the store or use nearby public parking. I tried the donuts, but I feel like The donut texture is too soft for what it should be. They seem to have a compared to my first donuts I eat with a the second one not the same, normally I stop by in the Portland location every time I?ve been there.

Reasonable price with good variety of donuts. Voodoo has big spectrum of flavors. From the very basic ones, such as old fashioned, to highly decorated ones, such as Oh Captain My Captain. The price ranges from $1.50 to $6.50 per donut. Compared to other dessert shops in Seattle, it was reasonable. The store only lets in 5 customers at a time, so long lines are inevitable. However, their opening hours are long, so if you avoid busy hours then it should be fine. Last but not least, there?s no place to sit i

Donuts are too dense. Yeast donuts should be airier and have no gumminess to them. There's also about 2x more icing than there should be. Flavors could be improved a bit, the maple was quite ordinary. Could also be fresher in the mornings. Prices are a bit high for the quality, but expected in Seattle. But the people are lovely and nice!

I've been meaning to come by. I heard that they were setting up a location near me, and I was excited to check it out. I went early in the day, and it wasn't very crowded, I was very busy taking it in and taking pictures. I felt someone approach me quickly, and I turned. An employee was about to grab my arm, and they mumbled "oh your only taking pictures." I don't know what they thought I was doing, I was merely politely waiting my turn and taking pictures. It was very disconcerting, the situation almost tr

I was really excited to try Voodoo Doughnut after going years without having one, and they were pretty good. I do think that they could've improved on the freshness of them, my doughnut was a bit stale. Prices are fair, staff are extremely nice. I'll be back when there's a convention going on in the area for a quick sweet bite.

Delicious donuts in Capitol Hill / downtown. Don?t come here unless you are in the area. Parking is a nightmare. Order in person or call in if you want to save on the app fees. Even for pickup, app fees mark up the prices about 50 cents per item.

Came here while on vacation in Seattle. There was a long line and had to wait about 30 minutes to come inside. Once we got inside, staff were very nice and gave recommendations about the more popular doughnuts. Donuts were visually very good but just slightly better than average in taste, though, they had many unique doughnuts. Atmosphere inside was very cool. Would strongly recommend you visit and try!

I am personally a fan of voodoo donuts. Always have been. The service was lovely! The lady up front told me they made ?too much? and they gave me and my partner extra donuts! I was so happy because who doesn?t love delicious free donuts??? However, we had an Apple fritter that was underbaked and got my partner mild food poisoning. He said ?huh, I didn?t know Apple fritters have a filling?? After I looked at it, there is raw dough in the middle. So sad cause it was his favorite type of donut. Otherwise all

Cool donuts shop in Seattle area. Great service, cool donuts and variety choices. It is not cheap but worth of try when you are around. It was no line when I walked in which was ok for me. This is specialty donut shop with some unique name for their donuts.

So excited that Voodoo Doughnut finally made its way to Seattle! This place is just as fun and over-the-top as the original in Portland, with a huge variety of creative, quirky doughnuts that are as delicious as they are Instagram-worthy. Get a Voodoo dozen so you can try the best of everything they have.

What a great experience. My kids got experience VooDoo for the first time. They had a blast with all the cool doughnuts. The employees were super nice even though the line was around the corner. Will be back soon.

The service here was amazing. The staff was super friendly and helped answer any questions that I had. They have a large selection of donuts that are from stuffed to cake and some even covered in a bunch of different toppings. They also have merch and an area where you can watch them make the donuts. I highly recommend checking them out

Tried these today and they were my favourite as well as honestly cheapest for gourmet donuts in the city. I think the key is that they were so FRESH. Each one we got was phenomenal but my partner and I especially loved the old fashioned and the old dirty bramble(?) (peanut butter oreo one). The gal at the counter was super friendly and after telling her how excited I was about the opening and how my family and I used to visit the Portland store, she gave me a free donut which was super sweet. I went on a Th

Stopped in after a matinee performance at the Paramount. The line didn?t seem too long, got in it at the Melrose Market awning on Minor. Line moved slowly, so our wait ended up being 44 minutes (Saturday: 4:46p- 5:30p). Staff were tired from the busyness but great. All the flavors we love and hoped to get our hands on were available. The go-tart is my favorite and my partner?s favorite is the school daze. She also tried the old fashion egg nog and enjoyed it. The go-tart here lacked the filling to doughnu

they have a sign outside that says wait to be called in but if it's not busy they don?t? I stood outside for before someone else walked in front of me and tugged at the door, which only then the employees waived us to come in. this person had a long order but I didn't say anything even though I got there first. the interior is ok. It's also nice that they open early, it feels like most donut shops out here are "specialty", but since VD opens at 6, you can actually come here before work. The donut itself was

This location that we finally have in the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle is absolutely disgusting. The donuts I got were mashed by the women who put them in this pink bag. Not worth the money or trip from where I reside. Folks keep your money it?s not worth it. Unless you?re an alcoholic & druggy which I most certainly am not. Now that I?ve tried thier place I won?t be back. ????

Ok so I've been to the one I Portland and the one in Seattle now. Not horrible but not amazing like Dough Joy. Voodoo doll has too much frosting and we tried many other flavors that were kinda artificial flavored. Not my thing and these do run on the extra sweet side. The fillings were Allgood and the dough is not greasey. Fluffy and crispy doughnut, but the cake doughnuts again were a bit artificial (vanilla cakey taste). If you don't mind too sweet and are used to artificial ingredients then Voodoo is a m

Just like the original in Portland, with pink boxes and eccentric designs/flavors. Banana cream pie was amazing (tastes just like banana bread pudding), as is the bacon maple bar. Can?t forget the voodoo doll too, complete with pretzel stake through the heart and red raspberry guts. There are a couple 30 minute loading parking spots right in front of the entrance, but this is Capitol Hill, so walking is usually easier. PS: Discovered the Memphis Mafia on this visit. An intense interpretation of The King?s

This place is amazing, We got lucky there was no line when we went. The donuts were delicious, We got 2 Old Dirty Bastard 8.5/10 1 Banana Cream Pie 9.5/10 1 Portland Cream 10/10 I?ll definitely come back to take some home.

LOVE this place! We have gone to the Seattle spot three times. We live an hour away but it?s worth the drive! I?d love to see another location open up in WA somewhere near Tacoma. Seattle is always busy and traffic at this location is tough.

Fav is the Dirt donut (special type of oreo mix with a oreo glaze it is perfect and freezes well for me atleast xD) There is a cheap parking garage around the corner if no parking is available by voodoo as parking is limited there. Also it is right near the new convention center building :) I am so glad to not drive to Portland anymore since I just can get my donuts here from now on tastes just as good ^_^

Stopped by Voodoo Donut and had the pleasure of being helped by Jazz. She was sweet, kind, and actually spoke to me. It was real human interaction, not the usual Seattle "head nod and avoid eye contact" routine. Her service was excellent: welcoming, fast, and genuinely friendly. And the donut? It was good. Was it $4.50 good? Mmmm... maybe not. It depends on your tolerance level and how much you love donuts. But with Jazz?s energy and service, it felt like a $10 experience. She made the whole thing better.

Finally opened in Seattle! Thank you! No more 3-hour drives to enjoy this. The store recently launched in Capitol Hill, Seattle. The general manager personally greeted us at the door and carefully managed the flow of customers to keep things organized inside. The store was spotless, and the customer service was incredibly friendly. Every team member we encountered while selecting our doughnuts made the experience even better. Highly recommend! The location is amazing. Thank you again! Now, please conside

This place is the best. Doughnuts are fantastic and the staff are super friendly. Can't wait for my next trip there!

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the doughnuts were fresh and delicious! It was so cool to see them making the doughnuts in the store and seeing that each one is made by hand. Such a great addition to Capitol Hill and already excited to go back!

What a treat!! We visited before heading to the airport and the service was excellent! We ordered a couple donuts and then saw another that was tempting but decided not to check out again to try it. The person helping us heard us discussing and decided just to give it to us on the house, so kind! We both really enjoyed all the donuts we tried- excellent texture, unique flavors, good fillings. Will definitely visit again

The critical reviews are accurate. Way lower quality than when I used to hit up the voodoo in Portland a few years ago. The maple bars and fritters we picked up from the new Seattle location last night were dry on the outside, yet doughy and undercooked on the inside. Super disappointing! I hope this is just a rough start. May you get your shit together Seattle voodoo! I?m rooting for ya

Went during breakfast hours and there was no wait. The donuts were WILD and there was so many selections to pick from. Dirty old bastard ???????? Apple fritter ???????? I recommend looking at the menu outside before ordering though because the cashier seemed a little annoyed that my sister and I were looking at the donuts inside trying to decide what we wanted.

We visited the second location for Voodoo Doughnuts and they were just as good as they were in Orlando.

Great donuts, and experience. A lot to pick from, and if you dont mind that your donuts aren?t as freshly made to order, then you?ll love this place. If you enjoy more freshly made donuts, ask for the donuts that were made last.

My mom and I stopped for late night donuts on our trip here, and the lady who helped us was very friendly and sweet. The donut shop itself was very clean and had a nice aesthetic. The donut presentation was great and they tasted even better. Definitely recommend to others!

I don?t even like donuts and we got some here, so yummy !! Definitely calorie worthy! Sabrina is fantastic !!

Great donuts and the nicest employees! Went in at the end of a very long day and their kindness and generosity turned it around! Shy and Kaitlin (Katie?) especially were so genuine and friendly. They gave us a couple donuts on the house and we left with a smile. Will definitely be back! Thanks to you both!

Customer service is awesome, but the donuts are overpriced and taste no different from those at an average shop.

Wonderful service and doughnuts! We took our two kids around 10am New Year?s Day sort of expecting they?d be odd their game but they were 100! Our commute was about 35 minutes New Years morning so will probably be 45ish on an average day but we will still make the drive any time the kids ask. The atmosphere is fun the experience was great for the kids (us too) wish I could give a bonus star!

It's same as the one in Portland. Staff is great. It's comparatively smaller than the Portland one, so expect queue outside the store. Finding parking can be hard. Good location though

We visited on a Sunday, and placed an online order. We arrived to the store to find a long line wrapping around the building. I was instructed that for online orders, you can enter through the exit door and go to the dedicated register. However, nobody was at the dedicated register, and nobody was acknowledging the people waiting for online orders. When someone did finally acknowledge the few of us, they just said ?not yet?. My order was finally ready 25 minutes AFTER the scheduled pickup time (45 minutes

Very tasty delicious unique way of presenting doughnut alot of choices displayed so you can choose

Donuts are very good, very heavy and rich so be hungry or have a friend.

Donuts were so fun and the staff were very sweet & friendly. Recommend going at 4pm for no wait and lots of options. Donuts can be a bit oily, but still delicious.

First time here and it was pretty decent. I tried the banana cr?me, original raspberry and mango.

Voodoo Dozen was great and yummy to share with friends. store inside was cool too

Barring the line that was about a 7-10 minute wait long to get into the store, Voodoo Doughnut is an excellent place to stop by and grab something delicious. Plus, I'm sure that the lines will die down in the coming weeks, which is why I'm giving this place five stars across the board. I ordered two "Homers" and a single "Old Dirty Bastard" and they were all spectacular! the doughnuts are also fairly large aswell, so they're also great to get in a bundle and snack on occasionally. I can't wait to visit Voo

I have a sweet tooth and it acts up after a long night of partying. This is my favorite place to satisfy myself before my drive home. The donuts are always fresh and delicious, the ladies are always pleasant and the spot is always clean and smelling like fresh donuts. Jazmine in particular is always on point, she seems to have memorized my order because she always knows what I want. Sometimes I shake it up with a different donut to keep her on her toes.

12/8 Special Invite Sunday & 12/10 Grand Opening Tuesday Morning were sooo fuuun! GREAT STAFF and TASTY UNIQUE DOUGHNUTS! Welcome to Seattle!!!

Their doughnuts are sooo good. Have had good memories of them in Oregon and Colorado, and now they?re in Seattle! Their churro old fashioned doughnut is a must, so is the voodoo doll. To sum up though, everything is great, and the staff gave such a good vibe on a gloomy Sunday morning! Price is a bit on the high side but worth it!

Great themed Donuts, expensive to say the least. Very busy when big events in town. Variety of flavors. Pretty muich something for everyone's taste. Great place for just going in and picking out one or two donuts randomly. We purchased a dozen as we are from out of town. They are very good the day of purchase, second day good after second day not as good. Worth it but I suggest just buy what you are going to consume the day of purchase.

The atmosphere of Voodoo donuts was very pleasant. I enjoyed my first ever visit to the establishment for all your donut needs . Well worth the visit and interaction with the staff as they all had smiles on their faces. Thank you Voodoo

Having try voodoo donuts, wanna give it a try with me and my son.The butter finger and dirt was g the apple fritters was okay.

I just had the cherry coke! ?? real "cherries" in the jelly, inside! With a soft chewy "cola gummy" on top. ??

The best donuts straight from portland, havnt been to a voodoo in years and it hits just as good as always!

Loved the workers, atmosphere was awesome! That being said the donuts were..... Bad, ended up not being able to finish the donut I had and neither did my roommate. They were entirely too sweet. my roommate said the fritter had the consistency of a brownie rather than what it was supposed to be, it offered me a bite and the fritter tasted like someone had sprayed an air freshener into my mouth so I spite it out. My donut tasted like a stale oreo cookie which was odd because the Oreo cookies on the donut were

Very friendly staff and such a wild variety of doughnuts! I got the Viscous Hibiscus, and it was delicious! I only wish there was somewhere to sit if you wanted to enjoy your doughnut at the shop, but I understand that space is hard to come by in Seattle.

I've always wanted to try voodoo donuts! (they don't have them where I'm from) Saw some girls walking down the street with the iconic pink boxes and immediately googled and got directions to this location! So glad I saw them because these donuts are delicious! I got a maple bar (my favorite) and the chuckles donut. Both were so yummy!

I called Voodoo Doughnuts on a Friday morning (before 7am) after finding out my source of doughnuts fell through. I spoke with April (just learned is the General Manager) who was extremely helpful and kind especially given the last minute call for help! They said they needed only 15 minutes, but I needed 1.5 hours. When I arrived, I was able to spot the 4 pink boxes set aside for pick up! I specifically want to shout out April as they were the person on the other end of the phone. As this was for an event

Amazing classic vegan donuts - had the vegan maple cream, chocolate and plain glazed and they?re all so good!!

This is the second time I've gone here. The first time was crazy busy even at 230 in the morning. Today, around the same time, I went and it wasn't busy. The person that helped me today was super nice, helpful and energetic. Wish I had asked for their name so I could've given them a shout out on here! They still had a variety of doughnuts and they don't taste stale which is awesome since I'm getting them so close to closing. Overall, great experience ?? ??

It was late at night when I went here, but still kinda steady. They have a sign on their door to try to wait outside the door until the person in front of you Inside is finished. They have great selection, but man...doubled the price. Very good doughnuts though and unique combinations.

Absolutely ridiculous experience at Voodoo Doughnuts. They had customers waiting outside in freezing temperatures while the employees were inside dancing, singing, and socializing instead of doing their jobs. I watched one poor guy stand outside for 10 minutes just to pick up his order, and after he finally got his food and left, they took another 3 minutes before letting the next person in?because they were too busy messing around. I get that having a fun work environment is important, but not at the expe

Tasty Doughnuts. HORRIBLE Customer Service. They need new leadership with a better understanding of business acumen and professionalism. Their staff is unaware how to field the most simple of request like changing a date and confirming an order. Imagine trying to support a business and them fighting you tooth and nail for you to go to their competitor.

Leey at Voodoo Doughnuts is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel like a longtime friend with her warm energy and incredible customer service. She?s such a vibe?friendly, fun, and genuinely excited to help customers have the best experience. You can tell she loves what she does, and it shows in the way she interacts with everyone. Leey made my visit unforgettable, and I?ll definitely be coming back because of her! If you?re stopping by, I hope you get to meet her?she?s fabulous!

Just the average donuts! Staffs were friendly.

5 star experience if I could pick him off the street I would pay him big money for the service I was provided??

Been to this location 3 times and each time it did not disappoint. Albeit the wait was somewhat long given its popularity, the donuts were fresh and very tasty. Staff is very cheerful even at 2am. Looking forward to going back soon.

We go here almost everyday and everyone has been so nice! The lady with short hair was sooooo nice! It?s always fun going here and trying new donuts! ??

As we walked up to this location there was no one outside and one employee looked to be ?open? to help, so I proceeded to open the door with the group I was with & soon as I opened that door without ?permission? I got eaten alive by my cashier! Told me to read the signs and that I made her cold because I opened the door! I started to step back outside and was apologizing and the lady who was working told me ?no come back! You?re in such a rush anyways!!!? Which was completely unnecessary and rude! My gf ord

I had a half dozen holiday donuts delivered at a reasonable time of day. The holiday maple bar and the present shaped donut tasted too sweet on top, stale, and not even close to how high quality I remember the donuts at the Portland location being. Maybe this location is getting into the swing of things and just needs to work on improving how the donuts are made. For now, it's not something I would recommend.

I had the blueberry cake and the banana cream pie. Both delicious! A friendly cashier even threw in a third donut I was eyeing for free (I ended up giving it to someone else to pass along the kindness, but I'll be back to try it another time)!

This Voodoo is trying to get their things together still. The week of opening they were great like usual Voodoo but ever since they have been consistently inconsistent. They seem to be trying to teach their new staff how to do things correctly and for example I have gotten the maple cream a few times and the filling has been the wrong one each time. It was sour and off in color. Last time we had an old fashioned doughnut and it was overly greasy. We look forward to coming back after some time once this loca

I love this doughnut shop, everything is sooo fresh and yummy all the time. I?m a classic girl so I love the glazed doughnut but every single one is very good. They?re fluffy, airy, chewy, and delicious.

Amazing! So glad there is finally a Voodoo in Seattle. Plus great Vegan doughnuts!
