Friendly staff and a minimalist yet inviting atmosphere. I love the long table by the window?perfect for people watching. I ordered an unsweetened latte, and it was excellent: bold, strong coffee flavor that wasn?t overpowered by the whole milk. Just the right amount of foam-like Goldilocks, not too much, not too little, but just right. I also got a vanilla and a chocolate donut. Both were soft, airy, and fluffy with a slightly crisp bottom, the kind you only get from freshly made donuts. The smell of frie
I want to come back earlier in the day to get a feel for full selection. I strolled in on a Saturday around 1030am. Great friendly service. The peanut donut was the winner for us. The cookie dough donut was great topping wise, but felt dry underneath. But that peanut butter one was top notch through and through.
Call ahead or show up early to this fantastic doughnut shop! I?ve arrived around 9:30AM on a Sunday and they ran out of doughnuts by the time I finished my coffee. The service is top tier and the selection (if you call ahead or show up early) is fantastic. My favorite is Chocolate with Coffee. The breakfast pockets are great as well. The doughnut is filling and has a delightful texture different from any doughnut I?ve ever had. I plan on going back and trying more of the vast options.
When I first came here a few weeks ago they were closed because they had sold out so this time I came earlier and they still had a few that were sold out, but I got six different donuts and I got a good variety of them and wow, the quality amazed me. They are very filling and so flavorful. I really like this cute donut shop and I highly recommend everyone tries it at least once and make sure to get there in the morning. The workers are also very friendly and will help make recommendations!!
We were driving by on our way to the Botanical Garden and spotted this fantastic donut shop. Not only did the donut taste amazing but the service was incredible. Seriously, the donuts are handmade everyday from fresh ingredients and you can tell the difference. By the time we got there they were almost sold out of everything so you might want to get there a little earlier than 10:30 to have more variety, but even if you don't, you can't go wrong with whatever they have in store.
Came here on a Saturday morning. Very chill and love the esthetic. The doughnuts are delicious. Had the apple pie cheesecake doughnut and the French toast doughnut.
Beyond the indulgent, high quality donuts with a solid selection of flavors, Jordan and Mike could not have been friendlier and more welcoming. If we weren't already having a nice trip to St. Louis, they would have singlehandedly (or I suppose doublehandedly) made it for us. It's amazing how they manage to serve all the customers in a timely fashion yet make everyone feel like they are the most important guest of the day. Bravo.
Loved this spot on my trip to STL. When we first visited the shop, we got the last of the donuts at 9 am, so be sure to get there early! The ladies working are super friendly and gave us great recommendations for things to do in town. We visited again on the last day of our trip at 7 am and they were fully stocked with fresh delicious donuts! I highly recommend the breakfast pockets as well. 10/10 donuts shop!!
right out of the gate this is a place that makes donuts the way other places wish they could. The dough has a nice fermentation on it. It?s chewy, it?s dense, it still has that really nice fluff on the edges and a wonderful beignet (funnel cake) style crust. they are absolutely making the chocolate filling with actual chocolate, not the nonsense bucket stuff. A lot of these places try to pass off. The bake shop is completely open for All to see and I recommend you take a look because this is how donuts are
Neat donut shop, great atmosphere with several ?fancy? donuts that are made fresh daily. They had about 15 different options all varying/different flavors - cookie and cream, berry flavored, strawberry filled, etc. I ended up going with a standard ?chocolate frosted yeast donut.? The donut it self was good, the yeast donut part was pretty fresh and the chocolate topping was not too sweet. They offered samples of both their yeast and cake donuts. All of the donuts looked good, I just wasn?t interested
You cannot go wrong with Vincent Van Doughnut! They are always a hit with friends and coworkers. The size of the doughnuts also makes them very shareable. The Maple Bacon and Chocolate with Coffee are my favorites.
This place is absolutely amazing ,from the service to the food and atmosphere, it's a must visit. Is it more expensive than your traditional donut? Yes, but trust me, it's worth it!
The shop is cute, clean & bright. The ladies behind the counter were friendly, fun and helpful. The donuts are amazing- soft & fresh & flavorful. We got a dozen for the long drive home & to share with the kids but they are so delicious there might not be any left for the kids. The lemon is our favorite but they are all very yummy. Definitely a MUST if you are in the St Louis Missouri area!
Stopped in while visiting St. Louis for a 1stPhorm event. The service was the best! My husband and I grabbed donuts to take home to kids and coffees for us. Everything looked great and the shop was very clean. Great flavors for the donuts ?? sooooo delicious! We'll definitely be back for our next trip to the Lou.
Great atmosphere and cute location. My kids loved the donuts. What got me in the door was the clever name. I did come later in the morning around 9:30am and the donuts were a bit stale but the toppings and flavors were amazing. You can tell they take pride in making each donut amazing.
The service was good. I can see why people like them, but they weren't my cup of tea. I think their yeast donuts have a slight sour note to them. It reminds me strongly of the taste of store-bought Hawaiian rolls (not saying Hawaiian rolls aren't good, but not what I expect in a donut.) As a result, it is hard to enjoy because it feels like I am eating savory bread with sugar on top. But there are people that enjoy fairy bread, so some like that savory-sweet thing in their desserts. I can't speak on the ca
Great local donut shop. All the donuts were beautifully presented and rich in flavor. Each donut was filling and reasonably priced.
Vincent Van Doughnut was a hit at our wedding! Our guests loved the variety of flavors. Their team was great to work with, even with a small snaffu on our end. We appreciated their professionalism and their baking skill, and look forward to visiting when we are in St. Louis again.
Really spectacular donuts here! I loved the yeast donuts and thought they had a uniquely delicious texture and flavor. I wasn't really a fan of the cake donuts, though. Those tasted a little dry and weren't as buttery or soft as I would have liked. Perfect for dunking in coffee, though! The Lemon Curd filled was by far my favorite of the day - the Bismarck was amazing and the Lemon Curd was flawless! More expensive than other shops but worth the price for the yeast donuts, especially the Strawberry Cheeseca
Of course this place is absolutely amazing. The women who work here are just as amazing as the donuts. Very friendly and very helpful. It would be a mistake if you do not experience it at least once in your life.
Delicious donuts! They sell out fast. There is standing room only most of the time. Not a quiet place to sit, recommend getting your donuts to go. Excellent coffee!
Hole-y Cow! These doughnuts are massive! The artistry is amazing. Each doughnut on the tray is uniform and looks exactly as perfect as the display. They make an absolutely gorgeous display when boxed. They would make a great display at a wedding, baby shower, or birthday party. The doughnuts were sturdy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. The fillings & toppings were scrumptious! Thoughtful combinations of common and exotic flavors are offered to satisfy any sweet tooth or sophisticated pallet. W
AMAZING DONUTS? just get there early to make sure you get the donuts you want ?? Made the mistake of showing up around 0930 for breakfast and were limited with out choices, but we walked away happy nonetheless! Totally worth the drive from IL.
The ladies were very nice and welcoming. We came 2 days in a row because it was so good! Everything is made from scratch. You can see them making it behind the counter. We tried both donuts and the breakfast pockets. All of it was delicious.
Amazing donuts and always a new flavor to try! You?ll have to visit a few times to work your way through the selection. Side note, they had a stuffed everything bagel this week. It was so good I hope they change their name to Vincent Van Doughnut & Bagels.
Stopped for doughnuts and coffee on Sunday morning before 9 a.m. Line grew quickly after us. Coffee was very good. Real cups available if you stay to enjoy. Doughnuts were large and good.
You definitely need to check this place out. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the doughnuts were unique and delicious! I will be coming back for sure!!
By 10:30, there were only two flavors left but the chocolate chip cookie dough is one of the best doughnuts I?ve ever had. The women inside were so sweet as well! I took one bite and headed back inside to grab the last one. I highly recommend!
The donut options are really cool. They were not quite as good as we hoped they would be, but overall, they would try them again.
If you want their vegan doughnuts, call in advance on Saturdays to find out if they bothered to make any/enough. Though they probably won't answer the phone. Otherwise, a great place to get some overpriced breakfast.
Yep. Get your sugar-high at this place for sure! Beautiful interior and place to grab a coffee and gourmet donuts ??! Wife and I split a blueberry donut [ I know, I know, who splits a donut you say? We do]. The donuts are big, like gi-mega donuts - so loosen that belt and get yourself in this place!
Donuts so good I didn't have time to take a picture. The lemon lavender donut was divine- light and perfectly flavored with the lavender. The French toast donut was my personal favorite. Will go back when in the city (get there early to get your dough!) and would recommend!
Such a cute place. Friendly as well, the woman behind the counter explained the different types of donuts which was helpful. I got the blueberry cheesecake donut which blew my mind. My sister got a coffee one, and my boyfriend got a cherry cheesecake one (or something along those lines). Giving a gift card to here as a Christmas gift if that tells you how much I think of this place.
So glad we left our rental home when we did as we got some of the last donuts for the day. They were so nice....added rainbow sprinkles to the kids' donuts and answered our 10000 questions about their donut wars experience. The maple bacon was AMAZING! The chocolate old fashioned yeast donut, too. Everyone loved their choices. Too bad they are not in Cincinnati.
Sooooooo pissed! Went here because they advertise VEGAN DOUGHNUTS online... it's Sunday and the line is out the door so I sat in my car til the line goes down.... so finally I enter and theres a line... but I am close enough to ask for the VEGAN ones only to hear, "WE ONLY DO VEGAN ON SATURDAYS!" Not a place to go for VEGAN donuts!!!! Except SATURDAY??
Enormous donuts that the team loved. They have so much variety to choose from and are uniquely square-ish. The one person working that day was very friendly and personable, despite holding the fort on her own. She even listed the donuts in order on the assorted dozen I got to make it easy to know which flavor was what. Definitely check it out if you haven't been! I also added a picture of the comic strip I've seen in other menu photos, just so you know what it reads. I wondered myself, but couldn't make it
In the Grove neighborhood, Vincent Van Doughnut serves delicious and unique doughnut flavors. It was hard to try and resist trying one of everything. In addition to doughnuts, there are other baked goods and even some savory options. What goes better with a doughnut than a delicious cup of coffee? Luckily Sump coffee is paired with there tasty doughnuts, making for a delightful combination! I concur with the saying of ?all you need is love and maybe doughnuts!?
My story with Vincent Van Doughnut was one of tragedy and love, in two parts. I am not from St. Louis, nor do I currently live there. I do, however, travel to STL a few times a year for business. So, one evening, before going to visit a client the next morning, I decided to find the best looking donuts in the city online so I could bring them a box. I arrived at approximately 8:15 only to find they were already nearly sold out. They had 3 total donuts left and about a dozen donut holes and some biscuits, f
The atmosphere here was calm and relaxed and I felt at home right when I walked into the door! Only thing that kept me from a 5 star was the cake donuts did seem a little dry but the lemon lavender yeast donut was a stellar option.
One of the best doughnut places in St. Louis. As with most eateries in the Grove, it's not some big chain, and its distinctiveness is its allure. Very delicious baked goods which, I'm sure, are sugar free and low fat. Okay, that last part is probably not true.
First time trying it & it was so different & good I would recommend!!
Excellent to start with! Their doughnuts are Premium! Not only to say their staff is welcoming and super friendly and they know what they are doing. I adore the option of small tiny doughnuts too. Also the ambiance is cool and industrial. I don?t mind driving miles to experience these deliciousness.
Expensive, but definitely a treat! The doughnuts are so soft (they're yeast doughnuts) and they have such unique flavors. The coffee is great and pairs well. Not your typical doughnut for under $1 (they'll cost around $4 a piece), but if you're feeling adventurous, give them a try! Small space, but seating is usually available. They can sell out pretty quickly, I usually try to get there before 10a to get a spread to choose from (even in a couple of those cases, I've gone before 10a and most everything was
Not from STL and tried Vincent Van Doughnut?s and the doughnuts were AMAZING. Soft and perfection. It was a bit high of a price for us, but the taste was definitely worth trying. Highly recommend.
It was very nice, and the lady behind the counter was as sweet as she could be. Me, my husband and our son went and even though they offer almond milk as a substitute option for drinks they actually don't have it as a stand alone drink. So when my son wanted milk with his donut she was nice enough to pour him a cup of the almond she used for drinks which in return used up all her milk. Then I had the pleasure of buying the last Vegan donut. Which was soo yummy. I eat it before taking a pic but it was a pea
Always on the lookout for quaint coffee and donut shops. Was driving by and this one caught my eye.
Terrific Donut Shop! I adore the name. We stopped by this morning not knowing what to expect. The 2 employees were super helpful and friendly. Very quick service. We got the lemon lavender, French toast, maple bacon and chocolate with coffee. They were all excellent. My favorite was the lemon lavender. They had real lemon zest and lavender on the donut, not fake flavors. I will definitely come back again when I'm in St. Louis. Hopefully they will have more tshirts. I'm sad I didn't get to go home with one.
Vincent Van Doughnut is amazing! The peanut butter mousse doughnut was my favorite but the chocolate chip cookie dough was great too. My wife really liked the chocolate chocolate and the Samoa.
My wife and I had the most wonderful experience here the other day. It was our first time here and we thought hey, let?s get some donuts. Everything looks so wonderful we didn?t know what to choose, and my wife who is 8 3/4 months pregnant and to call her a little bit indecisive is kind of like saying an ice cube is what Sunk the titanic. There was this wonderful young lady. I don?t remember her name. I think it was Kitty or cate or something like that. Took the time to ask her the questions that she needed
This place is incredible! Donuts were phenomenal! We came in right at 7 and ordered several donuts - not a single complaint. All the flavors were delicious, the vanilla glazed is perfect for anyone who likes a really sweet donut! The chocolate glazed is a dark chocolate but the perfect balance of sweetness! The blueberry cake donut was moist and fluffy! And the chocolate chip cookie for sure takes the cake, once again balanced and if you?re a cookie dough lover like me.. it?s totally the donut for you!!!
We left just 10 minutes ago, and I had to write this review before I forgot! Amazing! The atmosphere and staff are immediately welcoming. There is such a wide variety, and there is something for everyone. We ended up with 4 specialty donuts, a classic cake donut, and maple bacon bread pudding (our favorite). The prices are an absolute steal. We won?t be coming back to STL without making a stop here, that?s for sure. Our Air BNB host is also a big fan of the place. It really seems to be a staple. Whether you
Nice place for breakfast. Yeast rise donuts are unique. Soft and fluffy. My favorite is coffee. Other flavors are a little too sweet for me. Breakfast calzone is also good.
As a self-proclaim donut connoisseur, I knew that I had to write this review. The second we found the name Vincent van donut on Google, I knew it would be something special like reviewing a Cezanne or Rembrandt. There are very few donut stores in this caliper, the closest contender would be parlor donuts of Branson or the Hurts donut franchise. This is no Lexus or Cadillac, this is a work of art, this is the Mercedes-Benz of donuts. The only thing that could have made this donut experience more Delectabl
Vincent Van Donut has changed my view of donuts. Their donuts are more than sugary treats, they're works of art. Everyone I've ever shared a donut with from here is taken back by how tasty and filling a single donut is, and I couldn't agree more. The shop itself is in a great location and has a really neat vibe to it. When you walk in you're greeted by genuinely friendly staff ready to serve up their goodies with pride and a smile. If donuts were healthier and they we're slightly cheaper I'd find myself t
Amazing! Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. I called short notice this morning to pick up two dozen, a treat to my coworkers, and it was ready very quickly! They had a list of what was in the box and explained how it was sorted before I left, very appreciated. It smells amazing inside, very clean, and the donuts look and taste fantastic! Huge hit at the office, everyone loved it. I absolutely recommend, well worth the price!
Fantastic coffee, huge delicious donuts, and the sweetest people! We went based on the name alone and they did not disappoint! This will be our regular donut place when we visit STL. :)
Kids were disappointed as they only had 3 out of 18 kinds of donuts left at 9am on a weekday. From what I see with other reviews, this has been the case for multiple years now. If you can't find a way to increase capacity to meet demand years into it, then that's just poor ownership / management. Who wants to get up at 5am to be first in line when the place opens.
This place has the best donuts that I have ever had in my entire life. The staff were super friendly and patient with me when I had a hard time making decisions, customer service is definitely one of their strong suits. I got a box of a dozen donuts to share with friends and we devoured it in record time because the donuts were so good. I also got a kolache biscuit to try and that was heavenly. The donuts themselves are huge and pair perfectly with the coffees they serve. Everyone should come here at least
We arrived late on a Saturday morning, so the selection was already a bit picked over. However, the counter staff happily described everything that was left. We ordered a Maple Bacon and a Cheesecake Cookie Crumble- highly recommend them both- delicious donuts! A few groups came in behind us and I believe nearly all options were sold out before noon, so arrive early. The only downside for me was figuring out the parking situation, being from out of town there was a bit of driving around trying to determ
I called this place around 0957 this morning and asked to have GF donuts put back behind the counter for me and my mother in law who can't have gluten. Mind you im visiting and its the first place I saw with GF donuts and I thought it looked nice. I called and the lady on the phone said she'd put atleast two behind the counter for me and when I show up 22 minutes later because I had to drive there I go in and tell the lady that I was the person who called about the GF donuts and asked them to put them back
The donuts are great but the breakfast pockets are so underrated.
The donuts are massive but so light and fluffy its easy to eat more than one in a sitting! The staff is extremely friendly!
Stellar donuts! The staff was amazing about explaining the types and flavors. We tried the Maple Bacon, Lemon Lavender, Samoa, and Cookie Dough. All were amazing but the Lemon Lavender was my favorite
There are a few things to consider that may make people?s experiences here better. 1) yes the donuts are $4, BUT two people could easily share one. 2) these are desserts more than they are breakfast (unless you want a super sweet breakfast). 3) Go EARLY to get access to more flavors, otherwise you?ll have to time your arrival to a new batch. I?d say go on open or around 9. Keeping this in mind, the donuts are great. My boyfriend LOVED his peanut butter chocolate and Black Forest cherry donuts. Pictured are
Best doughnuts in town! Michael himself makes the experience all worth it in himself. The hospitality is second to none. Hands down would recommend to all my friends, family, and anyone in town trying to explore the hidden gems of St Louis.
I stopped by this morning for the first time and tried 4 different donuts. They were all delicious. I especially enjoyed the Lemon Lavender Donut, which they recommended. They also gave my child a free donut hole while we were making out selections, which he loved. A phenomenal little donut shop. Looking forward to my next visit!
Vincent Van Doughnut is AWESOME! The two ladies we worked with here were so nice and helpful. We ordered a dozen for our son?s birthday and they were a huge hit at his party. We loved them too. Incredible flavors. Perfectly prepared. Thank you so much. You guys rock!
Very friendly crew here. If Sweet and sugar is what you?re after this is your spot. Dessert for breakfast.
This place has been my favorite spot for coffee and doughnuts since I?m not going Starbucks anymore. I would suggest everyone to go in the morning cause by the time they about to close everything is gone Or sometimes they have to close store 2 hr early that?s how busy it is . Prices are fair for the doughnuts. Staffs are always welcoming and friendly as well ??
Love the story and the food! I usually get a breakfast pocket (filled with ham and cheese) but I also love their doughnuts.
DELICIOUS! BEAUTIFUL! IMPRESSIVE! These are kind of masterpieces you get when you are looking to impress! Even the gluten free variety are fantastic?you?d never know they were free of glute ??. The shop itself is not your typical donut shop: its got a fantastic design, clean, bright, a throwback-true to STL?s amazing architecture and a place you WANT to hang out and enjoy their delicious offerings. Its got an open kitchen, so if you are lucky, you can likely catch these gourmet beauties being made. The serv
The ladies here are always friendly and helpful and everything is always clean. They also have a variety of doughnuts to choose from. Bring a friend to split one with, because they are HUGE. Unfortunately we got there later in the day and the freshness factor was not there. Our Boston cream was a little curdled inside which made for an unpleasant texture
Might not be for me.... *Before I share, I will preface this by stating that the clerk I interacted with did mention that they looked very large today so I'm curious if maybe something went wrong with this batch. Maybe because I was super excited to try these or the hipster look and locale or the appearance of the donuts.... but I was super let down. Tried an assortment from blueberry cheesecake to chocolate chip cookie dough to cookies'n'cream to maple bacon (the one I was really looking forward to). Ov
Not really my style and expensive. $3.50 for double chocolate donut. Breakfast kolache was doughy. Friendly service, but returned incorrect change.
I went in about 20 minutes before they closed and they were very genuine and sweet about it being my first time visiting. Mona and Kate behind the counter are the sweetest. They gave me a sample and then proceeded to give me an extra doughnut and order of doughnuts holes. I really appreciate their kindness and the doughnuts tasted so good! Definitely give them a try!!
My family and I had these donuts while on vacation in Stl. The service was quick, donuts were delicious, and the good coffee made everything perfect. If you like donuts, don?t miss this place.
Excellent doughnuts, especially the blueberry cheesecake, excellent coffee options, and excellent service!
Third Saturday in a row I?ve shown up and they?ve been sold out before 10:00 am? I mean at a certain point you have to just start making more right?
Very friendly and fun people! The donuts are second to none! When in St Louis...a must visit!
I used to go to the Clayton location, but this new location is closer to my home. The layout is extremely attractive/classy, and it could seat about 16 people; perfect for a doughnut and coffee date! Of course, the doughnuts still taste amazing, and the flavors are still unique and ever-changing. Service is extremely friendly and welcoming, which motivates me even more to be a regular customer. Be sure to follow them on social media to see daily specials!
The chocolate chip and chocolate coffee donuts were excellent! The cream cheese donut could have used a little more cream cheese flavor, but would definitely return.
This place is amazing. The woman who helped us was knowledgeable about the area since we were out of town. The food is so good and the doughnuts LOOK so good that it's hard to choose just one. They are excellent fresh AND leftover.
Best donuts I?ve ever had. We were visiting from Oregon and tried 6 flavors, all were incredible. The staff were incredibly friendly as well. This was 3 years ago and I still think about them ?? debating making another trip to St Louis just for these donuts!!
Doughnut were amazing!!! Best I?ve ever had! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for the several vegan options!! The vegan French toast donut is so delicious! The staff is super friendly. They explain well the options. Vegans rush it to try!
Friendly folks. Gorgeously big, non-greasy, one of a kind donuts. A new favorite of ours is the Mango donut. Singular coffee! Awesome way to start off the morning. Very creative bathroom and clean facilities.
We have never tried Vincent Van Doughnut before and I found the place to be very warming. The owners were very hospitable, doughnuts tasted great, if I had one thing to be negative at, my coffee for 5 bucks could of been a bit more. Overall 5 stars, would return!
Delicious donuts, cake, yeast and vegan options too. Yummy kolache as well. A definite treasure.
