Nice old family donut shop has old school charm down to earth makes u feel comfortable looking at diff donuts they don't rush u .

It's my first time ordering a mocha frappe. I thought it was going to be made with chocolate, however, the guy who made it, told me that it's never made with chocolate and it's called mocha chocolate frappe. So next time I'll be more specific. All in all this mocha frappe is really delicious. Highly recommend it.

Village Express Donuts is a staple in my community. I've been coming to this donut shop since I was in middle school, now in my 40's, I take my children for coffee and donuts. We're always greeted with a warm smile from the owner, good service and the donuts are consistently yummy. Just visited today! Was a little surprised by some other reviews. Never knew you could diagnose donuts with depression or other ridiculousness! Let's not make lite of mental health.

I guess some people in the reviews here have a problem with their donuts being homemade instead of manufactured and flawless or something, because honestly? Oh my. These are the heaviest, greasiest donuts ever :( the oil they're cooking with must not be hot enough because the dough is soaking it all up. Paper bag, napkins & fingers covered in oil slick ??

This was the saddest donut shop I've ever visited. The lady who worked there seemed so unhappy. The donuts looked (and tasted) like they were marinated in depression. Lumpy and thick - it was as if the donuts just didn't care anymore. I should've walked right out but thought, "they're donuts they can't be that bad." They were. The space is actually really cute, like it would be a nice place to have a coffee with friends, or do homework after school. Hopefully, they can turn this place around.

I visited this place this morning on the day of July 16th and the customer service started off good but ended bad. The lady sold me day old donut holes at 7:27 am and when I realized they were old she got mad. Then an older guy came from the back, snatched the old donuts from my hand and gave my $1.50 back. I used to love this place! The donuts were always good and even warm in the morning. Now it seems even if you get there at 8am they are missing many varieties! The cases are dirty and not kept up. It seems if you get there any earlier they are selling day olds! Sorry to write this because I used to be a big fan.

Donuts upset my whole family's stomach. Burnt apple fritters, dry donut holes & discolored Mable bars. Even the simple glaze were extra greedy. The donuts taste like they were fried in old greese?? I will contact the owners regarding the bad taste @ $19 not acceptable.

Each time I come here around 7am he is never ready all of the donuts are yesterday items with fresh ones later. Such a nice place to grab a morning snack after work. The doughnuts are nicely sized, priced and the taste is great! One of the few places I enjoy a warm ham sandwich, love the soft and fluffy croissant. Definitely going to come back for more :)

A nice family place that has been making donuts here for quite a while. The owners are kind and hard working and have a smile for every customer. The shop is showing its age, though. This is a good place for donuts, especially if you live close, but not the best in town. Still near the top of the list though. My son says they have the best donut holes in town even if they aren't #1.

Donuts were delicious. Prices were the lowest I've ever paid for a dozen donuts. ($14 for the fancy ones!) And the owner carried my doughnuts and milk to the car for me! So, yeah, great service, too! As far as ambience? This place is the definition of great ambience.

I can?t believe I lived by the shop for seven months before trying it. I am so excited to tell everybody about this great shop! I had a fluffy cinnamon donuts which was delicious. I moved from DC so my standards are high. This place did not disappoint! The owner is also very nice and friendly. It can?t get any better? And the prices are so cheap too! I don?t really eat donuts but I found my new favorite weekend activity.

We live in the Campus Commons area and came over here for donuts during errands for the first time. Great little donut shop. The man greeted us with a smile on his face and gave us great customer service. He even threw in a couple donut holes without telling us. A mocha, a milk, and 6 donuts costs us $9.75. The strip mall it's in is a little run down, but the food was delicious, well priced, and they were very nice so we'll definitely be back!

Just discovered this donut shop this morning! Been working in the area for about a month and had a handkering for donuts this morning. I looked to my right as I was driving and spotted this shop 2 blocks from my work. How I missed it before this I don't know!! Went straight in, and got my go-to Maple bar. The donuts have always been great and still are. They tend to close earlier than stated. I'm a long time customer, so I'm still getting used to the hours. Coming a little over an hour before closing, I thought I would've made it, but they were closed. I understand they can run out, it just seems to happen and that's ok. Otherwise 5 stars.

Trying other donut places in Sac and the final decision was that nothing would compare to my childhood shop?s donuts. I?ve moved away from this area but still stop by whenever I?m nearby. VED has stepped up their game and committed to excellence. They take pride in their presentation and ingredients. Things have recently changed for the better, and it is noticeable. When I was there, it was cash only, which was the only area of opportunity (the front area needed a good wipedown). The prices are very reasonable and everything we purchased tasted good.

Not only this place is neighborhood friendly will you get the sense of warm welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The donuts are fresh and big and delicious the price is really reasonable. It just makes you want to come back again.
