TV DONUTS /Fresh Daily /Mochi /Boba Teas

This is a tough review. When the mochi donuts are fresh, they?re amazing, and the reason I keep coming back. However, the last few times I?ve gone, they didn?t have the same chewy texture, like they?ve been out a little too long. For over $4 each, I expect a quality donut, but haven?t been able to get it consistently. Staff is friendly. The space is basic donut shop vibes? you?re not going to want to hang out there. Going to have to just get there in the morning for that mochi chewy goodness I?m craving.

This place was a waste of $?. First off good luck with parking. you can?t even pick your own donuts they are already paired and packed. Bought a 6 pack of regular round donuts nothing special and it was $20. And they were cold and dry. Definitely don?t recommend.

Great/fresh mochi donut and especially apple fritters it?s crunchy and soft, other favorite is chocolate bar with whipped cream and strawberry topping. Boba milk tea with Taro less sugar is best after skiing :). Great customer service!! If you want fresh donuts it is a place to go to and support a local family own.

I normally do not eat donuts but wow these were amazing. I?ve never had fresh baked donuts before, only the pre-made dunkin donuts kind, what a difference! Also I was a bit skeptical of boba all the way up here in Tahoe vs where I?m from in San Francisco, but they were very fresh and the blends were quite unique (strawberry mango!) Clean space and friendly staff, highly recommend trying this fun local spot.

What is a great donut shop without great coffee? It?s nothing! Nothing at all! This place has great coffee. It?s expensive, more expensive than coffee should be, but it?s great. The donuts are pretty decent, but seemed to be almost too light and pretty eggy across the board. All things aside, the staff make it worth the while. Everyone inside is super friendly, and it?s probably the main reason I came back.

Prices are not clearly marked. Proprietor is argumentative when asked about prices and accuses customer of needing to ask and not understanding when customer tried to ask for clarification. I went in to this unassuming little shop next to a grocery to pick up a couple dozen donuts. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and helpful. She helped me pick out the most popular donuts. I dropped one dozen off as a gift, and the people I left them with had had their donuts before, they were so excited because of how good the donuts were. The dozen I brought home got great reviews. TV Donuts is the best shop in the Tahoe Basin. They have a great variety of Donuts celebrating the great legacy of Donut culture in the West. If you?re craving fresh homemade donuts DEFINITELY go here. I came at 12 noon and donuts were so fresh like they had just come out the fryer. Family owned local spot with plenty of delicious flavors and very affordable. I got classic donut holes and strawberry mochi - both great. Will definitely be back soon!

Possibly the best donut shop I?ve ever visited. Every donut is perfection - I?m generally not a cake donut fan but theirs is so light and fluffy.

I went this place, everything Amazing, first of all, I came into this place to give a try, and I thought it was just a normal donut shop, but I?ve tried a dozen Mochi donuts and a Boba drink, they were awesome. Been here many times and it?s probably one of the more unique donut shops I?ve been to since they offer boba drinks that are actually made with real tea (their Thai tea) and it?s really good. You can customize the sweetness and add more boba if you want. The other best part is that they have mochi donuts now too! Pretty much, if a place has mochi donuts, you know it?s fresh since mochi donuts can?t be frozen and premade. That means their other donuts are hand made! So all the other low review comments sayin

So I?m picking on the right side of the counter and she?s pulling them off the shelf. I kind of figured I was getting the day before Christmas donuts $25 a dozen for no jelly filled no Christmas. I got sprinkles, glazed, chocolate glazed, and they were the worst donuts I?ve ever had stalled old.

I went to TV Donuts because of their ratings and pricing. The staff was nice and the pricing was good compared to other donut places. Very clean. My only complaint is the donuts were dry. Which was surprising as we got 3 dozen donuts at 9:30am. Hopefully this isn?t the case next time.

First of all this place is so cute inside! The donuts are so pretty in the window, I had to try so many different ones! I don't even remember how many I have! The lady at the register was so sweet that I could have talked to her for the rest of the day! When I got to the car, I tried one of their Mochi Donuts. I almost melted to the floor it was so good! I love this place. The owner is so kind. We only go in maybe once a month. But the owner always remembers how we like our drinks. She takes time to chat and catch up. The donuts are always on point and fresh. 10/10 recommended.

Fresh & Delicious? YEAH RIGHT! This place is is joke. I got an apple fritter it tasted like trash. My dogs dog treats probably taste better than this. The apple fritter was stale and hard and 3 days old taste. It was 6 bucks. I go to Randy's donuts in Las Vegas that place is top tier compared to this. I can usually get an apple fritter for 2.49. Mochi donuts are not the light and chewy ones I?ve had from other mochi donut places (like in LA or Chicago). These were heavy and dense. If you?re looking for delicious, light mochi donuts this would be a hard pass.

We got a dozen "fresh" donuts for breakfast this morning. The apple fritter was so thin it was crunchy, and you couldn't find the apples. The sugar dusted twist and the fritter tasted of stale oil. The chocolate and maple bars are the size of cheap hot dog buns. These were not a pleasant experience.

Do not underestimate the mochi donuts! They are great and usually sell out early. Boba is on point as well. Must stop destination when in SLT!

Customer service was spectacular but felt it was a bit overpriced. Spent $52 on 10 pastries and 4 drinks. Some of the donuts we got were $3.50 & $4.50 each. The donuts are fresh, they are light, but sweet. The only issue was the pricing...it could have been clearer. I mean, you may think you are buying a dozen donuts at a dozen price, but you would be mistaken. The lady seemed annoyed by my clarification questions ??. Overall, good donuts.

Don't be deceived by its location. The donuts + boba are delicious. The cashier was very sweet and this location is also dog friendly. Definitely check it out when you are nearby because it will be worth your time!

Hello people!!! So I tried Donut and had coffee on the go! We were there around 12-1pm. on a Tuesday. Upon entrance, it was quiet and empty, and I said to my uncle that this place doesn't seem to be good! I was actually wrong about it and want to take my statement back! Well, uncle had been there multiple times, and he disagreed with me. The guy who served us was nice and full of smiles. 5 stars for you, buddy! Should have got your name! Anyway, Uncle ordered his usual coffee and asked me what I wanted.

Stopped by the shop to indulge in an afternoon treat. Donuts definitely tasted day-old. They did have some custom donuts and large chocolate filled croissants that looked delightful. Maybe the morning offerings would be better. Service was very pleasant.

Karen at TV donuts was a joy to work with. We wanted donuts as our dessert for our wedding and decided to go with TV donuts. The donuts were ready for pickup on the day of our wedding and tasted great! Our guests were excited to see the maple bacon bars! Would highly recommend!

Best donuts in SLT! Always get them from the woman who owns this place at the farmers market in the summer and recently finally ventured into the shop a few weeks ago. It is pricy, but everything in SLT is pricy! As a local, these donuts are definitely worth the price!

Local here: this place is amazing. I love their milk teas, especially the strawberry milk tea. You can actually taste the strawberry, and you can even see small pieces of *real* strawberries in the drink!

No line ~1:45pm with a fair selection of donuts still available. From the mochi donuts we got 1 maple + 1 strawberry (there was also plain gazed & a green one (matcha?)) - strawberry was the winner; both were pleasantly chewy (as expected). My man also got a fruity pebble donut which was surprisingly delicious to me (not the biggest sweets person but this had a nice balance & not tooooo much fruity pebble madness) Service was quick (no line at time of our visit), we were on our way in no time.

My dad bought some donuts from here and we absolutely loved them! We are definitely very picky when it comes to donuts but these were delicious and soft. And owner was very friendly! Definitely recommend.

I paid nearly $10 for two mediocre donuts. They looked ordinary and tasted the same. I'm not sure what was supposed to be unique about them that justified the cost.

Delicious glazed donuts! We went here early this morning and the donuts were still warm. Glazed donut was light and just right. I also tried their cake donut and it was great, too. Owner works the counter and she is very sweet and friendly. Nice selection of donuts. Very clean inside! This will be our go-to donut stop in South Lake Tahoe.

Donuts were dry and tasted very old. It seemed a donut was $1.69 each but then at checkout the donut with sprinkles and a gummy fish were $4 each. Not worth it. Much better options in town for fresh quality donuts.

FINALLY! TV donuts is open again under new ownership! Everything is made fresh daily and delicious. They also have a variety of boba tea options. So happy they are open, the only good option for donuts in South Tahoe. Do not waste your time trying Glazed and Confused down the road, they're over priced and terrible. We will be back soon! BEST DONUTS EVER!! We were passing through from the midwest and my 19 year old son had a taste for donuts. When we pulled in we were tempted to pass it up (early morning, we were expecting to see some customers and it look a bit deserted and non impressive from the outside). Went in this morning and got a few donuts. Good customer service recommended the raspberry filled donut and also mentioned a blueberry filled one in the back. We ended up getting those and a custard filled chocolate glazed donut. My wife and I were very happy with the quality of the food as well as our experience here. We will have our donuts from TV the next time we are in Tahoe!

I'd say skip it. The food was ~fine~ but there are plenty of other REALLY good breakfast places in the tahoe area. Overpriced for dunkin'-ish quality donuts.

Best donuts in the basin, great Boba tea, and fantastic service. Also, the new lunch and dinner menu (called Lemongrass: Kind of a rice, meat, and vegetable bowl with a side soup) is one of the only takeout options in the area that is both healthy and tasty. Definitely come here!

UPDATE: I have been coming to TV Donuts for over a year now and the items are consistent! My Boba always tastes amazing and my mochi donuts are fresh and delicious each and every time! They are reasonably priced and a perfect breakfast or dessert treat!! TV donuts is the Bomb! Consistently amazing fresh donuts! The Best Boba Tea in town and that I've ever tasted! I have lived in several major cities and have been drinking boba tea for quite some time, however the Boba Tea at TV Donuts are the BEST EVER!

I'm gluten free and most "donuts" I am able to eat are thick, dense, and frozen. The mochi donuts here are one of my guilty pleasures/treat yo self favorites! They're gluten free, extremely soft and fluffy, and have a wonderful taste. The non GF donuts have a LOT of different flavors and variety and my 5 year old loves trying a new one each time we go. Definitely a little "hole in the wall" type of deal that is simply just AMAZING!

I rarely give 5 stars. Best donuts I've ever had. When I was a kid, (a very long time ago) I used to buy the original Krispy Cream donuts which were the gold standard. TV donuts are even better. We'll be back!

Stopped at this place after hiking Emerald Bay. The service was great and staff very friendly. I got the Thai iced tea with boba and my husband got the taro smoothie. However we both were not fans of the donuts. We have had much better. It could be that we went here at 3:30 in the afternoon and the donuts had been sitting all day.

Best cake donut I have tried! I got the chocolate & peanut one. I think what got to me was the rich texture in the dough and the fact that it was not overly sweat as in other donut shops. I also got a small chocolate bar which was great. Unfortunately I only came on a short trip to Tahoe and didn't take more back home. At least I luckily walked into this place. Will be back.

By far best donuts i have ever tasted!! We tried a strawberry , whipped cream donut.. ( their version donut of strawberry shortcake... ).. their donut version was by far soo much better then any shortcake version i have ever eaten!!. This place is a true gem of SLT. We've been going here almost every weekend for the last ten months and I'm always blown away by how consistently good it is. Expectations blown out of the water. Thought it was just a neat store so I decided to stop by. Their donuts are amazing and their milk tea is great. Boba was a little hard but that can be expected when you get the last of the batch. If you have a craving definitely worth stopping by.

Not the best, not the worst. They are much better than the previous owners. Their donuts are good but honestly nothing impressive. And they are very pricey. $25 for one dozen with only 2 speciality donuts. Since this place opened, it has been my go-to place if I ever need a pick me up. The owner, Karen, is the sweetest woman ever and does the most to make her customers feel welcomed and cared for. Coming here feels like a big warm hug coupled with, of course, fantastic donuts and boba. Absolutely a must have.

I'm Taiwanese American, and I just moved here from living in the Bay Area for 14 years. Needless to say I have very high standards for boba tea and milk tea. This place's boba is super legit!!! Best Donuts in South Lake Tahoe!! The apple fruiter and bear claw are delicious. The regular glazed melt in your mouth. And the lady who works there is awesome! I go as often as I can.

Although they have really great donuts, you might wanna change your opening time, store opens at 6:30 but there are only cake donuts being served, we waited around and came back in an hour and still was hardly anything. I really do like the donuts (when more are available) but it might help the business to actually have way more out before opening

I ordered the mango tea with lychee jelly. Please order with less ice and 75% sweetness. I like sweet but the regular sweetness is overbearing unless you are a candy loving kid. I can also recommend you mix the mango and pineapple and get it with the lychee jelly.

This is a great donut place that is even open on Christmas day! The donuts are amazing and super flavorful and the shop is super clean. The people working there are super happy and accommodative! It is a little pricey but it's worth it to me.

The staff are so friendly and the donuts are fantastic. The donuts aren't overly sweet like many other places making it them extreme delicious and hard to put down.

The donuts were stale and not fresh. They were at least a few days old. When my father-in-law went back to let the owner know that the donuts were stale and not fresh, she told him, "If you don't like it don't come back." Well, we won't be coming back. Owners should be trying really hard in these times during Covid-19 to have business continue to want to come.
