Trojan DONUTS III

Trojan DONUTS III

Reviews Summary

The consensus is mixed but leans positive. Many praise the fresh, delicious donuts, especially apple fritters and chocolate glazed, with friendly staff and reasonable prices. However, some complain about inconsistent hours, early closures, and occasional stale or limited selections. Service is mostly described as welcoming, though a few note unfriendly encounters. The shop is appreciated for its early openings and family-run vibe, but inconsistency in quality and availability frustrates some customers. Overall, it’s a solid local spot with standout items, though timing matters for the best experience.

Customer Reviews

Owners are great and treat you like family. Great donuts and better prices than Dunkin?

AMAZING! The most melt in your mouth glazed donut I?ve ever had! The filled donuts are filled throughout the entire donut. So much filling! And the coffee; fabulous! Loved everything about this place!

Try the cream cheese. You won't be disappointed. Don't forget your latte ??

Finally was able to catch this place open! Family got some Donut holes, and oh my word, were they good. They tasted like magic and felt like pillows in my mouth! Absolutely wonderful flavor and mouth feel. Thank you!

Donuts are a touch smaller than most other mom and pop shops, but they were scrumptious! We loved that they filled the insides when you ordered them according to what you wanted! Nice! We tried a variety and they were all good, but would definitely recommend their fritters, and anything filled with raspberries or Bavarian cream.

I have come here three separate times only to be met with an empty shop, all before closing time. Today, I came at noon when they are supposed to close at 4:00 and they were shut up four hours early. I understand that things sell out quickly in bakeries, but if you are going to turn off the lights four hours early, then maybe adjust your schedule. Will not be making the drive again as it's proven to be a waste of gas three trips in a row.

I read the reviews and was so excited to be in Troy to go Trojan ?? Doughnuts. However, it stated that they were permanently CLOSED on GOOGLE! I was like, No can?t be! ??! But, when we passed by it my Sister saw the OPEN SIGN! Yes! I immediately told her to hold on because I was going to make a quick U turn ok. ??! Oh yeah! I told the young lady about the Permanent Closed and she stated she knew. But, I guessed that it?s going to take a minute to change that. But, let me tell you all that Trojan Doughnuts ?

1 dozen mixed donuts maybe I'm winning on how the price out so it was 6 twists 4 cinnamon rolls and 2 apple fritter and 2 dozen donut holes was $25 using debit Everything as usual was good But the price seems high

Just came in on a random Saturday drive. Came though at noon and there wasn't anyone else in there. The counter attendant seemed like they didn't speak English, which is fine because you can just point. The owner, I think, came out when I had a question about one I didn't see in the display case. He was very friendly, unexpensive and speedy. All things being said, the donuts were fantastic. Highly recommend.

The price and taste right, but the selection was slim. I graduated from Troy in 2009 and was really hoping to get some Daylight Doughnuts, but it seemed to have disappeared, so I went to Trojan Doughnuts twice in my four mornings in Troy. The apple fritter was perfect: dense and fried, with a ton of glaze. This is a small shop, but I was really disappointed with how few options there were to choose from and that only one person was working the counter ? even as there were multiple people getting large order

First time trying them. We went about 9AM and the donuts were amazing. Melt in your mouth fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not much variety on donuts but what they did serve was very good. You pour your own coffee, not sure if that's due to Covid. The lady working there was really nice.

I got there a half hour before closing and the place was locked up tight. Once I got in the next day, their service was unfriendly and the donuts were like clouds. They had no thickness. I couldn't actually tell I was biting into them unless I was looking at it go into my mouth. I let them sit for 2 hours and they massed out a bit, so it wasn't a total loss.

I personally haven?t encountered any issues with this place. I?m thankful that there?s a place in small Troy Alabama that makes donuts the way I like them. I personally do not eat cake donuts so don?t know how those are, but their regular donuts are light, fluffy, and sweet. Reminds me of Shipley?s Donuts in Texas. It?s also really cheap. This isn?t Krispy Kreme but it?s what we got.

Employee wasn't very welcoming. Donuts are very good either. Didn't taste fresh. Tasted like donuts made a day or 2 before. I think publix has better donuts and i dont really like there's either.

That chocolate long john with raspberry filling was the best impulse buy i have made in a long time! And my mother loved the apple fritter she got! The lady working was also very kind.

I was recommended this place and what a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Donuts tasted like Old Stale funnel cakes. No donuts were filled prior-- they fill to order. On top of charged me for 2 filled and Left Empty!! Heard they just got new owners which I heard is the problem now. Nasty Donuts!!!!!!

Just picked up some long johns, sprinkle donuts and donut holes. The man at the counter was very nice, even gave me a free twist donut. The donuts are melt in your mouth good, literally light as air. My new favorite!

Very nice friendly family, and good quality donuts, opens early so you can stop before work! ?? will come again!

There was no food, no doughnuts as the place had apparently closed down, but they let us use the restroom.

Passing thru Troy and found this gem of a doughnut shop! You won?t be disappointed. We stopped late afternoon and the counter person was incredible even though near end of day. Great taste great service very clean!

These people are wonderful! One of the nicest people we have met in the South. Great prices and great donuts. Highly recommend!!

I went in on the 8th of June about 9am. I opened the door, and the woman, possibly Filipina got up and just began staring at me. I walked to the counter and she was still staring. No greeting, so when I got there, I said, "Well good morning!" NOTHING. I said, "Well then, do you have apple fritters?" She said yes. Then a white man walked in, and she couldn't shut up. "Hello!! How are you Etc." I will NEVER go there again.

Great hot fresh donuts when you need a good Apple fritter or classic chocolate glaze? get some Trojan DONUTS! We stop by when traveling thru from Florida. ????

Great doughnuts not the most welcoming to customers. And small selection which is ok I can live with that. The price was extremely reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone. Yum! ??

Donuts were good.I was in there very early .I think when they put the dough in the cooking oil the oil could have been a little hotter. But they were good

Very good Donuts and excellent coffer

Very good doughnuts!! Extremely great workers very friendly and clean!! I love it and extremely affordable can?t go wrong!!

The donuts are delicious and the people there are super nice and welcoming! I definitely recommend! ????

Sweet little place. Very nice people. Good selection. Fresh and delicious. Great prices.

Drove all the way from Dothan AL to grab some donuts per the sign on the door and on Google they close at 4pm... I got here at 330pm and they were closed.... annoyed honestly

Donuts are always good, but the Maple bacon was great!

Just tried to go there. Its 2:24 in the afternoon and I watched as the guy locked the door bwfore I could even get out of the car. They're not supposed to close until 3.

I am glad the owner reopened the store. Best donuts around and reasonable prices to boot.

I love this place the owner is super nice and the donuts are delicious.

Did not get everything I ordered. But paid for everything. Better check your bag/box before you leave.
