Beautiful cute cafe, quick service. We had hot chocolates and cinnamon covered mini donuts. The cafe is beautifully decorated with arts by local artists which you can purchase too.
Do not skip these mini donuts. These little chunks of sugar heaven are as light as beignets. The train cars are super cozy and unique and, although busy, the service is worth the wait. They?re currently unable to serve house made Kava due to the state but they have alternatives. The iced macchiato was thick but tasty.
One of my favorite places to grab coffee when driving through Nederland, but a special shout out for their mini donuts which are AMAZING. Definitely get those. Staff was very friendly and they weren?t too busy on a Sunday so there wasn?t a long wait. Sitting in the train car was such a charming experience so recommend spending a little extra time there to do so!
Coffee was fantastic! And we are Australians who really judge their coffee! Had the large tamale to share w hubby for a late lunch which was ample as there were 2 tamales. Our adult son had the burrito and wolfed that down. Plus a baker?s dozen mini donuts as heard they were amazing. Thought we?d have a few and take rest home but they were so good we ate them all! Thanks guys!!
Fabulous little place. Delicious latte, lots of space, and you MUST try the mini donuts.
Really good selection of coffee. Made really well to order. The owner is really friendly and super nice. Good place to get a coffee if you are nearby
That was an amazing surprise, the atmosphere bring you in old west America, I really like it. The Hosts are super kind,we taste some special tea, also we buy coffee beans, very good variety. We have espresso, simply amazing, latte super nice and mini donuts, super tasty. Really thank you for having us over there.
Fun place with tasty donuts! We got the cinnamon sugar donuts and a plain latte (wasn't anything special)
Super cool! I?ve wanted to come here, and to Nederland itself, for ages. Not sure why we?ve never ventured this way. We travel the world and don?t know our own backyard, yeah? Crazy business. But we loved this place and Nederland and the drive there and away! The last that took our order was nice and another employee that we interacted with briefly was lovely. It?s got so much character and the drinks were good! Hubby had a vanilla latte and I had iced chai. Yummy. The seating inside and outside is plentifu
What a great start to a morning! Their coffee was great, the place is so cute. Walls are filled with art, the old train cart is beautiful. The staff at the place was so friendly and nice. We had wonderful conversations with them. Initially we only wanted coffee to go, but when we got inside we wanted to stay and take it all in. Thank you for the coffee and the company. It warmed my heart and soul <3
Loved that this place is actually inside a train car. The music and staff are friendly. Had the Thomas, pesto on croissant and it was pretty tasty. If you get donuts, go for the dozen, we had the cinnamon powdered sugar and enjoyed it. I usually go for cold drinks regardless of the season, but was surprised by how well the salted caramel macchiato tasted hot. The burritos were ok, the Southwest Sammie was good. A penne press was used for all the sandwiches and burritos, and tasted better than that looked.
Got half size of doughnut with sugar power. It didn't have a lot of bad taste in it, but I don't think I'll buy it again. It's been passing by all the time, but when I walked in, it was much more cozy than I thought and felt like a local place to drink. Next time, I'll go get something else!
One of the best coffee spots in Colorado! The fall seasonal apple pie latte hit the spot! The interior is quirky and fun, my daughter and I drank our coffees at the cozy nook the train. If you are debating about visiting this coffee shop go! Awesome gem in Nederland!
Coffee wasn't good and the danishes seemed like they were from costco. Also poor customer service and unfriendly. The place is cool maybe just needs better employees and management..
our family stopped in Nederlands for a little shopping and lunch while on our way to Estes, we were so excited to try out this cute little cafe, we were very disappointed in the service we received. we ordered 3 sandwiches, 6 donuts and a bowl of green chili. It took 53 mins to get our food and there was no one else in there at the time we ordered. The employees seemed annoyed by us ordering food and the food was mediocre at best and had to remind them about our drinks.
This was a nice cozy place to grab a bite. Had to try the smoked salmon to see what the hype was on a bagel and was definitely worth the stop. Definitely recommend!
A very unique and interesting place to sip a cup of coffee. It was a heavy snow day and the hot caramel latte was perfect with their famous mini donuts. The ambiance was amazing, a must visit place if you are passing through Nederland.
This is one of the most unique places I have stopped for coffee. I got a coffee and a small biscuits and gravy plate. The coffee was good in my opinion but my girlfriend who has a more refined pallet thought it was okay. My small biscuit and with gravy tasted good but was very overpriced. It was $6 and some change for a single biscuit with gravy. Overall my experience here was decent. I'd definitely visit again for the unique experience and coffee. But I'd inquire more before ordering to know what I'm pay
If you're looking for a unique dining experience, The Train Cars Coffee and Kava Caf? is worth a visit! The interior is cleverly designed to resemble a train, making for a charming and nostalgic atmosphere. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe of the place. The food is fresh and flavorful, with a range of options that are both satisfying and delicious. It's a great spot to enjoy a meal while appreciating the creative decor and excellent service.
Super cute shop!! Wasn?t in the mood for coffee so got an iced lavender lemonade and it was delicious! I have a feeling the coffee would be pretty good too, so I will have to try some next time.
This is a quintessential stop if you find yourself in Ned for any reason. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere in the train cars is absolutely unique and inviting. Great place to stop on your way up to or down from the slopes. Their prices are certainly reasonable especially given the quality of their service.
Loved the atmosphere and the setting. The location in the heart of Nederland in three conjoined old train cars is wonderfully unique. We got a caramel macchiato, London fog, and two ?locomotive? breakfast sandwiches (one on a bagel and one on a croissant). The shot was so burned on the macchiato that it was nearly undrinkable. The London fog was good. The bagel sandwich was very good but the croissant sandwich had barely any egg on it and really could have used some distribution of the ingredients because e
The donuts are pretty tasty. It's a small little cafe, but it was nice. The drinks are pretty standard coffee and syrup drinks, but still tasty.
A friendly gentlemen from West Virginia had a good chat with each customer in line before whipping me up my order of a southwestern sandwich. The sandwich was probably the best I?ve had in years. Coffee was pretty good too. Truly a must-visit if you?re driving through Nederland.
We love the train car donut and coffee shop. This has been our secret getaway spot for years. My kids love this place, they love the games, piano and kid upper deck. I love their tea selection too. Their food menu is great too, salmon bagel for the win.
Easily my favourite coffee shop in the entire USofA. Beautiful building/vehicle, super nice staff, lovely roasted great coffee, and as an added bonus... fantastic tamales (among other food that also looked great). Local artwork displayed inside - it's lovely. Great place, great folk. Thaaanks
I went to the train coffee shop they have wonderful breakfast there sandwiches and burritos. They also make their own homemade donuts that they'll powder and sugar for you if you like they are amazing. They have many flavors of coffees for you to enjoy and they have outdoor and indoor seating and the place is very comfortable.. Everyone in there was amazingly friendly and I was quite surprised
A great place to stop as you travel through the mountains. The food was great, and the staff were excellent. They use ild cars and caboose. Very nice.
Great coffee and an incredible place. The staff were extremely helpful and the guy was kind enough to offer us some extra snacks.
Really cute little train cars set up for coffee, games, and a nice spot to hangout. They do pastries, donuts and small food items. The coffee is very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The history of all the cars is up on the wall.
Love this place! Friendly people, good coffee, and the mini donuts are to die for. The WiFi is also excellent. Thank you guys!
Hate to leave a bad review on a small business, but we had a pretty bad experience. My fiancee ordered 2 coffees and a sandwich, waited 20 minutes for the coffee (it?s busy, I get it). Waited another 15 minutes for the sandwich, checked in and they said ?it fell through the cracks, we will make it now?. Check in 10 minutes later and again they said ?it fell through the cracks and we lost your order?. We couldn?t stay any longer as it?s my fianc?es birthday! So we said we would just leave. They offered a ref
Yes, it?s an actual places to have coffee and eat. They have few tables in there and clean decent bathroom. Go around the front, the ENTRANCE is there. My hot chocolate (not so hot), it?s just okay for me.
Insanely overpriced and poor quality food. Donuts were cold and spent $14 on a pitiful burrito. Service was good, they remake my drink when it was wrong.
Fun atmosphere, great coffee!
Got a good drink, service was good, but my only complaint is that it smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals when I was there.
This is the best coffee and yogurt stop along Rt. 119. The atmosphere and vibe is super cool and worth the stop. Either grab a coffee or a yogurt, the cozy up in the train cars that make the building. It's definitely rad to hole up in the cupola in the old caboose. The location is right in downtown Nederland and easy to get to.
Cute little train coffee stop! Unique and always busy but worth the stop
What a good surprise to find this place! Great food, great presentation, great atmosphere. Just take a look at the pictures
I had the absolute pleasure of having a Kava pina-covada at this very cozy establishment and I wish I could have it everyday. Recommend 10 put of 10!! Thank you Jesse for the wonderful hospitality. It was so great to meet you!
Coffee and mini donuts were really good! Perfect place to hang outside with our pup.
Lovely train cars transformed into coffee shop/restaurant. The mini donuts are delicious. The chili is also very good and the drip coffee was not bad either. Great spot for a snack after a good hike.
Delicious donuts with a wonderfully aesthetic train car to eat them in. This place feels cozy and historic without being cheesy. We got hot chocolate (rich and creamy), an iced coffee, and a 1/2 dozen mini cinnamon sugar donuts. Prices were fair and the service friendly.
Neat coffee shop and great ambiance, there was a huge queue when we went. The line moved fairly quickly and bathrooms were clean.
It was ok. The environment is novel and it was pretty cool to eat in an old train car. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good. The donuts were not good at all unfortunately. The breakfast sandwich was ok, egg a little over cooked though. Ordering is a bit slow even when they aren?t busy. Getting out of the parking lot area can be a real pain (if you can find a parking space to begin with).
It's been 8 months and I'm still thinking about their pumpkin apple cider. Can't wait for fall season!
Excellent coffee and atmosphere. Very quiet and people are nice. The mini donuts are a must. Buy extra donuts to take home!
It was just an okay place. My boyfriend and I went here last month and while it?s a unique experience to eat in a train car, the food/drinks are pretty ?meh.? My boyfriend ordered a smoothie and as we could watch them make it, you could clearly see they were only using different store bought juices to make it, not even blending up any actual fruit. I ordered the mini donuts and the guy forgot about my order, but at least he gave me a couple extra to makeup for the wait. So overall it?s not a place I?d go ou
What an amazing little place! Stopped in here on the way down the mountain from camping for some coffee and breakfast and may I say it was definitely worth it! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is breathtaking! I love the old train car setting and the stained glass windows are absolutely beautiful. The food is exceptional as well I tried the grilled cheese with pesto on a croissant it was so good. I also recommend the frozen espresso and the mini donuts they make right there are amazing when loaded u
cute place, good coffees, needs heavy cream. :)
Cool little stop in Nederland. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Order the Locomotive and thank me later.
Anytime I?m in Nederland you?ll find me here getting coffee. I love this little train car coffee shop. Great free WiFi and my husband loves the sugar donuts.
Always amazing from the staff to the awesome lighting ?? overall great experience every time
It?s a local owned store with commitment to quality. I loved the coffee and the ambience of the train coach the cafe was housed in.
My favorite local coffee shop in town! Unique atmosphere and delicious food and drinks. The cheese danishes are incredible. Very reasonable prices too.
Coffee was amazing, service was friendly, and the workers dog Moose was the cutest thing ever. Donuts were to die for!!
Cool spot and an interesting design. Only got a snack here but the tea and donuts were both good!
An almost perfect classical American breakfast in a cosy style train car served by a fine guy. Coffee is delicious if only we will figure out to not pollute in this inappropriate way by just one breakfast while eating in...
This shop was so cool. The train car is really cool to explore and look at all the posters. The food was pretty good too but service is slow.
I'm sitting here right snow sipping on a plain cup of coffee having just munched on a half dozen miniature donuts. The aesthetic, cramped and cozy in the best way type of atmosphere this place has in endearing in many ways. That alone is worth four stars, but in the ten minutes I've been sitting here, the interactions of the gentleman behind the counter talking to customers is enough to get them that 5th star. Cannot wait to get back here.
Always a treat to stop here while in Ned. The main guy that works the counter is always friendly and makes everything to order. If you have lost faith in humanity, try the cinnamon and sugar mini donuts. Your faith in the potential and beauty of humankind will he restored. Amazing drinks, great and hearty food dishes. If you get a half dozen donuts instead of the dozen I will judge you. Go for twelve, life is short.
I had a nice breakfast. Matcha tea, lavender lemonade, and the locomotive sandwich. Friendly service. Very interesting train decor that fits the heritage of this town.
Quaint and fun spot for a quick brew or bite. Sandwiches and bagels available. Also, ample outdoor seating for enjoying the mountain weather.
Great place with a friendly vibe. Do try the cinnamon doughnuts!
Really cute stop! My friend got a chai latte and loved it. I got the lavender lemonade and also enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this spot for a stop for a hot or cold drink.
Was doing some traveling in this area, stumbled upon this awesome breakfast experience. Home made donuts, unique breakfast sandwiches, and a well worth atmosphere outside the norm, being inside of a train car. Felt very much like back home vibe, coming from Pennsylvania.
I forgot my wallet and after a long ski in the back country really wanted a coffee. They don't do phone tap pay, but they gave me a free coffee. Nice people, nice place. I will pay it forward.
Great all around! Everyone we encountered was wonderful and the atmosphere was so neat. The donuts are super yummy and they even had soft serve! I hope we get a chance to go back
Loved the coziness of this coffee shop. We spent a couple hours hanging out here. Coffee was good! Very unique and staff was very nice.
Love this place, been coming here for years and its always great every single time... good coffee, tea, smoothies, sandwiches, etc.... I personally recommend "The Lox" bagel, Gravlax, cream cheese, red onion, and capers, on an everything bagel :-D
Lovely little place, great coffee, quality pastries.
Truly unique coffe shop made out of old train cars. Great selection of coffe and awesome tasted mini doughnuts. Must stop for coffe lovers in Nederlands/Boulder area.
Donuts were so delightful! Do not go here without trying them! A very cool train venue with indoor seating.
Wow what a find! Best breakfast sandwiches in 30 miles, The old train cars are always warm And as inviting as the people working it. The espresso shots are perfect mochas even better. Be sure to grab a pound or two of coffee to go bring the taste home with you!
Love this experience! Ginger-turmeric chi iced latte was delish & so were the mini donuts. The ham & egg croissant was drool-worthy & the staff were all cool!
We took the Independence Pass from Aspen to Estes Park and stopped in Nederland for lunch. We decided to try the Train Cars Coffee and Kava, and I?m really glad we did. Having lunch in the old train cars was really charming. The entire vibe of the place was very welcoming, and the employees were very friendly and welcoming. Since we?re both vegetarian, we got the grilled cheese and pesto on a croissant, which was very tasty albeit a bit greasy (I mean cheese and croissant, so not unexpected). We also decide
This is such an awesome coffee shop! Really cool atmosphere inside three old train cars. Food is great, staff is welcoming and friendly, they've got wifi, and their coffee tastes great. It's NOT that new "sour" coffee that all the hipster places are serving. They've also got fresh house made mini-donuts, Kava drinks at a great prices, and food/bagel sandwich options too!!!
We stopped here in Nederland on our way to our honeymoon. Such a wonderful place and great atmosphere with really sweet staff. We tried an Irish cr?me breve and a hazelnut cappuccino with ?the works? mini donuts. We regret not getting the full dozen! The donuts are made fresh and have a nice soft crunch on the outside and super warm on the inside. Definitely recommend this place, they have the basic coffee flavors, and can do hot or iced. Next time we come, we will try their sandwich?s/bagels and/or breakfa
Visiting Ned from Chicago. Stopped at Train Cars Coffee for breakfast and coffee. Ordered the Fat Sammie breakfast sandwich ?-holy smokes!! It was incredible! It felt like it just melted in my mouth. Best bagel breakfast sandwich I?ve had ?? They also offer doggie treats and a fancy pup cup! Staff was super friendly and kind. Will be back during this trip!
Excellent food, great service and totally unique atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the vegan burrito and am grateful but it cost me $16 with tip and wasn't even very big. This is a really cool place but I probably won't stop here again for food with the prices being that steep. Edit: the owners reply makes me rethink this as I do support the local ingredients and ability to pay a living wage to employees!
Great food here but the drinks are mediocre. LOVE the ambiance and the history, and staff were very friendly. I liked it enough to stop twice on my way in and out of Brainard.
this place was amazing!! super cool atmosphere, awesome location, great food! i got the lox sandwich and my husband got the locomotive! we got married this morning and when the man taking our over heard this he handed our card back and took care of our meal for us! we will definitely be back before our trip is over!
What a cool little place! I ordered a chocolate shake and apple crumble; amazing! Will be back soon for sure.
Employees annoyed by my kids. Bad attitude ? people were not this mean before. Very sad ?
Great to see these restored rail cars.
this place is so rad check it out. Local goods, local art, incredibly unique.
