Found this breakfast/lunch place on our visit to Leadville. You order (and pay) at the counter and then they bring your good out to you. The #1 Bagel Sammie had crunchy bacon, a big slice of cheddar and a fried runny egg on a plain or everything bagel - it was probably the best breakfast bagel I?ve ever had!! My friend had the #5 Bagel Sammie with the Locks & cream cheese on a gluten free bagel and she loved it. The outdoor patio was relaxing and the service was friendly and timely. I noticed they have
Good food - good service - pleasant atmosphere Being local, I see posts daily on Facebook and was curious. I will definitely bring my seven year old back for pancakes and doughnuts. Manuel - you rocked it today! Thank you
I needed a birthday cake for my daughter while on vacation, normally they ask for a weeks notice. Despite not making this lead-time, the owner delivered a beautiful, yummy, 4-layer cake in 2 days! I did all this over the phone so I can?t comment on atmosphere, but the food and service were outstanding!
Love the Silver Llama! Been coming here for 5 years and have been a fan of the B & G breakfast, which used to cost $8, but now is $15 total for to-go order! When I'm having a nice slow morning, it's nice to sit inside and enjoy the atmosphere and observe the art (the art is for sale too!)
There was a little chill this morning and we wanted something hot to drink so we stopped in for a coffee and chai. We ended up eating breakfast. Definitely one of the best avocado toast I?ve ever had and the FIRST time a cook prepared the egg over hard CORRECTLY. 10 stars for the cook !!! Even the little salad was good. Husband likes his meal as well. Service was friendly.
Good service, good atmosphere. The food was ok at best for lunch. Which is surprising because I enjoyed the breakfast last time I was here. Pictures speak for themselves Mac and cheese is not white cheddar, it?s cream with fiesta blend sprinkled on top. Tomato soup was chunky and tomato skin all through it, with bland flavor. Use an Emerson blender or strain it out atleast?. Grilled cheese- cheese isn?t even melted. Kitchen needs a little work on the lunch items. Slow down and do it better. As I said wh
I like the decor, and the menu looked very promising, albeit a bit pricey. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet the standards I'd expect for the price paid. I ordered a "naked burrito," but specified that I didn't want cheese due to my lactose intolerance. Luckily, my wife had lactaid available. The menu also specified avocado with the naked burrito, and it was conspicuously absent. Other than that, it's just scrambled eggs on top of hash browns with a green chile sauce, which is hard to mess up. The breakfa
This place was so yummy! The kids got waffles and pancakes (with the chocolate chips and whipped cream of course!), I go the crispy chicken salad with ranch (loved the peperoncini on it! Never would have thought to add them on a salad) , and my husband got eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious. They have open seating with an upstairs area and games to play while you wait. Everyone was nice and helpful and really made us feel welcomed.
Biscuits and gravy were excellent, apple turnover was very good, greens that came with my breakfast was unexpected and yummy. Hollandaise was bland and they didn't get my eggs hard as I asked which is why I can't give five stars. Husband's big breakfast was perfect. Very cool atmosphere with a Christmas tree hanging from the ceiling!
Our experience was very good. The turkey burrito was stuffed with eggs and a healthy helping of sausage with a green chili was perfect. My son didn't read the description of the waffles, which have sugar inside. He was not a fan of the texture, but not the fault of the restaurant. Husband enjoyed eggs, biscuits and gravy. Service was great. Both eggs were ordered over hard but the yolk was completely runny, thus 4 stars.
Absolutely everything was perfect! The food was homemade and absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere was so comfortable and would definitely be a place I would frequent if I lived here! The owner was beyond sweet and really made a great impression as a buisness on how she handled a difficult situation with another customer! She seems to have much compassion and very professional!
Fabulous breakfast/lunch gem in Leadville! Stopped in briefly on our way home and couldn?t have been happier with the food. Delicious chais, donuts (the minis didn?t survive long enough for a photo!), and breakfast sandwich! Biscuits perfectly crumbly and eggs and bacon were great too! Decor and vibe are amazing and there?s even a view of the mountains from the ladies room! My only suggestion is some Silver Llama merch because I definitely would have bought one of these mugs and probably a shirt too!
We did a cake of red velvet; cupcakes of chocolate and vanilla. Frosting was her suggestion of buttercream mixed w/ cream cheese. Everything was amazing our guest loved having the cupcake options and they are the jumbo size. This was a last minute thing and they 100% pulled it off. They took my vision and made it reality. She even took flowers out of her own garden to make my dream cake come true! 100% recommend
This restaurant is exquisite. We are vacationing here and found this gem online. I ordered the AVO toast with smoked salmon and eggs over medium which came with a greens salad. The smoked salmon tasted amazing and fresh. It was like they went out and caught it that morning and cooked it for breakfast. The greens salad had fresh delicious fruit and a tart vinaigrette to compliment the sweetness of the fruit. The chef actually came out to our table and asked us how our food was. She recommended the hot spring
Quaint bistro-type restaurant in Leadville. Offers breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed the Hot Italian sandwich, a monster cookie (a giant cookie with toffee, chocolates, and possibly other confections I'm forgetting), and a chocolate milkshake (you have to ask for it because I'm not sure if it is on the menu). The staff are friendly. Sometimes the lines are long (good luck finding a place to eat that isn't). The prices reflect the economy, so it isn't cheap but it also isn't expensive (comparatively). Both i
Amazing place, does serve dinner. We received a very warm welcome, everyone came and talked with us. Food is simple but delicious. I will 100% recommend this place. And last but not the least beautiful decorations with a lot of positive vibes.
The food was solid but a bit overpriced for what was served. It?s a mountain town so what do you expect, but things could have been better. We got the French toast which was great but the waffle breakfast was subpar. Everything tasted great but the waffles were definitely frozen and not fresh. I would recommend a stop by this cute place but it won?t knock your socks off.
Cute little place for breakfast, simple, clean, inviting, yet modern atmosphere. Order at the counter, and no chocolate chips for pancakes of you have kidos lol that's the only negative ha so not huge miss overall. It is easy to miss the location with no big signage by street but worth stopping by. This was our first time to Leadville, and to Silver Llama
I normally don?t post reviews but I have to on this. On January 18-2025 I believe at around 10:00 or so, I came in with my newly mother in law and sister in law for brunch. I always come to the Silver Lama for a delicious pastry and coffee. On this day I witnessed the owner yelling at a employee/cook saying very rude remarks and using a lot of profanity in a room filled with lots of customers. May I add she was yelling. I was Appalled and very distraught, on what I was hearing. What?s even worse is someone
Food was really good and people were great.
Wonderful place! Nicely decorated and good food. The person who took our order seemed to have an attitude but everyone has off days so we placed our orders and sat down. The rest of the staff seemed nice and there were games upstairs we could play while we waited. I did see into the kitchen on the way to the restroom which rose some sanitation concerns regarding food handling but overall not a big deal.
We came in for the soft opening of their new dinner menu and weren't disappointed. The salad and soup were very delicious and unique. The Chicken Alfredo got the thumbs up approval from my wife (a distinguished honor) and my mushroom ravioli was very good too. The staff was friendly and kept the place upbeat and fun while also being very helpful. All in all it was a pleasure to dine with the Silver Llama.
4 stars?! Not to be dramatic but quite arguably the worst breakfast I have ever had. I?m fairly certain their entire menu is based around a microwave. Also, please reference my ?over-easy? eggs
I wish that I would have been more fully in vacay mode, but I was passing through to catch a flight. Leadville is gorgeous and deserved a slower state of mind from me. That said, ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast and a drip coffee. Both were awesome! The coffee was handed to me, so I got to work on that ASAP. The toast took 15ish minutes which I found strange, given how empty the place was and how easy the dish should have been to prepare. Maybe they were short-handed or had inexperienced staff.
My burger was really good. Wife food was a little cold. Were there near closing so they gave us a bunch of donuts on top of what I ordered. Very kind. Would definitely eat there again.
On 1/18- I brought my family to eat breakfast, it was my daughters birthday breakfast. I felt like we were in a movie. The owner was yelling very loud bad words and just bad talking the cook/employee. We were so unhappy with the way she was yelling especially with a room filled with paying customers, that we asked the server Lucy if we can take our food to go. Lucy apologized to us for the outburst and bad language especially in front of my kids. I will NEVER go back there again, thanks to the owners unprof
Great spot for some great breakfast! Trick is just to find a time when they?re open as their google info isn?t correct. The staff are really helpful and friendly. They have a wide selection of good foods and drinks. The menu on their website looks different to their menu in the store.
We always make sure to stop by the Silver Lama when passing through Leadville! So trendy and relaxing with great pastries, lunch or just coffee! Dominic was the BEST!
Terrible. Cold and Burnt biscuits almost no sausage. Also there was a clear bite taken out of my bread. Like who does that. That?s disgusting. Lived in Leadville 7 years and this is the worst breakfast I?ve ever had. Do not eat here
Good service, but was really let down by the food. My mom's scrambled eggs were leathery (if you need a knife for scrambled eggs, something's really wrong) and hash browns were burnt. My eggs Benedict made for the first time I've gotten a hard boiled "poached" egg. On the other hand, my dad's Reuben was acceptable even if light on the corned beef. If I returned I'd avoid anything that needed to be cooked and hope the other sandwiches are decent, But doubt I'll be back
This is truly a very unique stop! So glad we chose to have breakfast here. food was fresh homemade and very large servings...something for everyone! They even have donuts!
Wow! I haven't eaten out much since the pandemic hit, but I sure was happy to have breakfast this morning at the Silver Llama Market & Eatery in Leadville, CO! My avocado Caprese toast with breakfast greens (all GF, thank you!) and rich, hot coffee was served up quickly and professionally by staff adhering to safety protocols without sacrificing warmth and courtesy. The meal was scrumptious, and my hunger was totally satisfied! Will definitely patronize this restaurant in the future! Oh, and the interior de
Very good spot for lunch and breakfast! Breakfast is served all day. Great views to people watch out front. The philly cheese was 4.4. The chilly Mac side was 5.0! Short of staff August 2021, plan on 30 mins wait for food. Oh the peach turnover was 10 outta 10!!!
BLATT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, turkey, tomato) with cheesy green chili mac...<sigh> A perfect lunch...?? Their breakfasts are great, too! They have plenty of business and can get behind at regular mealtimes, so be flexible!
I stopped in here with my wife on the way back from Aspen and the food was solid- as was the quick service. I got the big breakfast, which was certainly big and was just what was needed to refuel before heading back to Denver.
Stopped in this morning. The food was edible but the lady at the counter was unfriendly and quite rude honestly. It looked like she was taking orders and serving all by herself which most people are understanding of as long as you are friendly.. can't say that was the case. She gave me a number to put on my table for my order, then proceeded to tell me I took the wrong number (the one she gave me), then took it away from me, and then complained about me not having a number on the table. And then she walked
?This place is awesome? is right! The food was amazing and the staff is some of the most friendly people. It?s a bit more expensive and portions are smaller, but go for the more interesting meals (not the classic diner plates - I.e. eggs, potatoes, meat) and you will not be disappointed. I had the savory French toast - fig jam, ch?vre, and rosemary toast. Never had anything like it, and it was amazing! The ?breakfast greens? that came with it were a pleasant surprise as they were an actually yummy side sal
Nice little spot for some all day breakfast. The wait is a bit long but the food is good, and the atmosphere is really chill. Salmon avocado toast was light and tasty.
Gluten free options! Everyone loved their meal. Sweet French toast, Avocado toast, classic breakfast, Chai Latte. Thank you Silver Llama.
Pretty good for breakfast. Kinda spendy for what ya get. When I go out to eat I want to order things I crave, things I don't make at home, I want it priced fairly/ don't offend me, and I want to feel a full belly upon leaving.
Yum! We?re so glad we found this cafe! Mocha frappe, warmed apple turnover, avocado toast with breakfast greens. Everything was fantastic!
If you are in Leadville you must eat at the Silver Llama. The food is amazing the staff so attentive and the atmosphere is so cool.
Ate breakfast there three days in a row durning our stay in Leadville. It was excellent so good. Highly highly recommend the eggs Benedict or waffle breakfast both super good. Be warned that the waffles are really sweet which is one of the reasons I loved them
Ordered a customized birthday cake, sent them pictures and told them my vision. They not only NAILED IT with the design but the cake was absolutely delicious. AND they delivered the cake to the location on time and very hassle free for me! It was red velvet...and did I say delicious ??
The start of our experience could have been better. The woman behind the counter was short on friendliness and wasn't listening when we gave her the order. Our order was wrong when it arrived at the table. Our saving grace was a young lady named Kristin, who solved the problem with the order and came back to check on us. It's been a while since I've had an experience where I felt the food server cared about me more than the tip. Kristin engaged in conversation. It was a memorable service experience.
This place is great! One of those places where you order at the front, take your number and find a seat. Excellent classic Benedict and great coffee. Also just a cool vibe in the place. Will definitely be back!
Sherry! We stopped in here about a year before our wedding for lunch and not only was it delicious but the turnovers & cookies were amazing. We knew we had to book Sherry for our upcoming wedding. She was easy and professional to work with. She stayed in our budget and provided exactly what we asked for. The cookies were a huge hit at the reception and people raved about the flavors - lemon poppyseed cookie?! Delicious! Thank you again Sherry!
We have enjoyed our dining experiences at The Silver Llama. Staff, ambience and food. Look forward to their special evening dinners when we go back to Leadville real soon. :-)
My thing is customer service... SUPER FRIENDLY and WELCOMING place. Very clean and appealing to the eye. Food was a hot! Traditional options as well as healthier and new age. Donuts for the kids! Normally reasonable prices.
?? Dog friendly ?? Sitting in their courtyard enjoy coffee and breakfast while the Boom Days parade passed by was the best seat in the area.
2025 update: The Llama is still one of my favorite restaurants and some of the best dine in/dine out food in Leadville! Always a great breakfast!! ~~~~~~~~ I?ve been a regular at Silver Llama since they opened and always love their food! Sherry and her team do a great job and I?ve never had a bad meal. They definitely get super busy during Leadville?s busy season, as do most restaurants, but handle it like pros.
Was looking for a breakfast place after church, and was lucky enough to find this place. The cashier was friendly, but the guy ( sorry he had no name tag) was beyond friendly and outgoing. He made a good experience great ??. Good portions, the hash browns could use just a little something. Pepper? Season salt? They have honey for the toast. Everything was great. If you are in Leadville, stop by for breakfast, you can thank me later.
We found ourselves in The Silver Llama on our way from ziplining to snowmobiling while in Leadville. We stopped in for a quick bite and everything was perfectly pleasant. We sampled a few donuts while the others in our group ate sandwiches and soups. Overall, it was a cute little caf? with tasty options.
I ordered eggs over medium. Most places cook the eggs too fast/hot and under cook the whites or over cook and turn the yolk into a hockey puck. These were perfect! The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. All in all I had a great breakfast!
Our go to place for breakfast when we are in Leadville. The staff is very friendly and asks questions to get our order right. We try to spend time in Leadville in the off seasons, so the Silver Llama is usually not busy and very attentive. We enjoy the classic breakfast and it is just the right amount. My wife says the breakfast greens are great! The coffee is good and refills are available! We'll be back! Sit upstairs to get a great view of Leadville and the mountains to the East.
Like someone said above, it smelled like sewage right when we walked in. There were only 2 other people eating there on a Saturday morning. We wanted to look past that and give it a shot because they had decent reviews. For 2 entrees it was over $30. We got the food fairly quickly. The tables upstairs were all dirty. My lettuce in my salad was rotten and the salmon Benedict tasted off. My friends hash browns were warm at best. We gave it our best shot to try the food but couldn?t stomach it. We lost our app
The good: the manager was awesome. When our food came out and wasn't edible she gave a refund and some sweet treats. The staff was all very accommodating. The bad: for the price, the food wasn't very good. We had to send a Ruben back because it wasn't edible. First bite was a giant piece of turkey fat, no dressing, no sauerkraut, just dry bread and turkey. We spent about $60 for 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks.
This place was amazing! The atmosphere is so nice. The food is so delicious as well. I got the naked burrito and it was so yummy, I definitely recommend this place.
Great atmosphere with beautiful artwork, awesome service, good food. Definitely recommend going.
Food took forever, which we knew upfront?and would have been fine if the food was worth waiting for. It was terrible. Burgers were the only thing tolerable. You order via counter service?and the counter service was rude and super unfriendly.
online menu is inaccurate, ordered a waffle breakfast that was supposed to have eggs, bacon, home fries...I got 2 waffles and a pile of salad greens which I did not ask for. Called back, was told the menu had changed, the site hadn't been updated and not given a discount or refund. Paid for one thing and received another? Too bad. Waffles contain chunks of granulated sugar. $20 worth of disappointment.
The waitress could have explained where the condiments and coffee things are. She was cold and rude. Kinda ruined the vibe
Fantastic service! We ordered the naked burrito, pancakes and chicken sandwich with an added white cheddar Mac and cheese. My daughter loved the Mac and cheese so much she didn?t take another bite out of her pancakes which were delicious.
Gross yellow salad who even serves this just say you don?t have any please....... Update: The owner was very apologetic and I am happy how she responded to the situation. A bad day in the kitchen, we will try again another time.
I've eaten here several times and rarely had a good experience. The food is generally very good, minus the fact it's often not served very hot, which is a huge downside. Might have something to do with lack of servers (no fault to the servers of course), can't say for certain. Once brought my brother and sister in-law here and sat upstairs as it was the only place a table was available. The woman manager (or owner?) was working at a table near us. Laptop and paperwork strewn all over. One of the employees c
Beautiful space with good wifi to catch up on life. Everywhere else was packed in the morning, but there was plenty of room here. Outdoor patio, but I recommend the indoor upstairs area.
I went to eat at the beginning of the week with my family, they automatically charged me with 20% tips without my authorization, the pancakes were so ugly that we had to return them. The first thing the cashier told me before taking my order was... we are about to close. The place is really not worth it, the prices are too high and the customer services was so poor..
Def spendy. Not much selection. But the BLT and salad chevre was delicious. Small mountain ambience. I'd come again
Super good food. Great staff! Clean bathrooms.
Shared the Big Breakfast. Good value with 3 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, hash browns and huge biscuit and gravy. Bacon was some of the best I've ever tasted. Gravy was also really delicious (light brown sausage gravy with sage?). Counter service at front can get congested but it's worth the wait.
Stopped in for a weekend breakfast and coffee. Great spot with a nice variety of menu options. Got the classic breakfast and was very happy. The English muffin was sooo good and homemade. Coffee was on point too. Very busy on the Sunday we came in so definitely come in earlier and get a choice seat on the patio and soak in the views
The food was truly so amazing, everything was cooked to perfection. We got the classic Benedict, eggs were perfectly poached. We also got the big breakfast with a side of hash. The hash was my least favorite but still good. Highly recommend if you?re in Leadville!
This place was a wonderful find for us, a pair of travelers passing by this small town and hungry for breakfast. We were happy that they served breakfast so late in the day (1130am) as most places stop serving this earlier. I ordered the biscuits with gravy which were absolutely delicious and fillings and left me very happy indeed. My wife had pancakes which she was craving and was happily satisfied with them too. The coffee was good and it was refillable. The restaurant itself is pretty big. Parking was st
Sherry is an awesome owner, great food and good specials! I love the atmosphere, the employees are awesome especially Mikhaila and James! I would appreciate more local deals because sometimes the prices are a little high due to tourism and other places in town try to accommodate locals a little better. However, still 5 stars because this place has been a favorite for years!
Our family ordered five different meals, and all five were excellent. Staff were very nice.
Excellent breakfast. Loved the waffles and the avocado toast!
Food made my husband and friend sick to their stomach. The bad dishes were brought to their attention and nothing was done. Maybe a call to the health department is needed.
I had breakfast here with my son. I ordered the big breakfast and it definitely was big. My eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them (over medium). My son ( 7yrs old) ordered the grilled cheese and loved it. The service was great and they made social distancing easy. It's nice to have another breakfast option in Leadville and I would recommend it to anyone passing through.
They took the order of the person before us and the couple after us but turned us away and told us the kitchen was likely closing due to staff issues and that the wait would be over an hour. We were only a group of 4 and 2 of us eat like birds, so the order wouldn't have been large. Went here because it was listed as gay friendly and that's rare in rural CO... such a shame. Food looked good.
I believe the food was good; my experience was tainted when accosted by an employee about my service animals. I believe many out of towners attempt to bring in dogs and they must have been burned. Sadly walking in I had high expectations that sunk when confronted by a less than congenial employee and grilled on their service functions while they both had neon reflective vests stenciled in large letters: Service Dog!! I don?t think I?ll be back; the distain soured my experience and other breakfast spots i
I?ve had better experiences here before, but after getting breakfast here with my family today, it?s a safe call to say im never returning. The salmon was canned, not fresh smoked, and tasted horrible. My burrito meal that comes smothered in chili and cheese came absolutely dry, no cheese inside either. The eggs for the Benedict were severely over cooked, and the crepes were crusty and hard from being cooked too long. At least the service was good and the wait staff were (mostly) friendly.
Cute place. I liked their corn and poblano pepper soup
We didn't like the food. But, different strokes for different folks. The service was A+ from the woman who took our order, to the woman who brought out our food, to the woman who offered to remake our food. I really appreciate a place that is willing to fix what went wrong.
Loved this place. A local eatery. Were warned of the wait (with limited staff), but it wasn't bad to slow down and have some good conversation while waiting on our lunch (and we didn't wait that long). Some had breakfast, some had lunch - all were very tasty. Had the salmon eggs benedict - I liked it (if you like salmon & eggs for breakfast). The homemade desserts were also worth it! Brought homemade fudge home for treats.
I have come here for breakfast/lunch several times and I have always really enjoyed it. It?s a cute spot with a nice atmosphere and we enjoy visiting here with local friends and out of town family alike. Tonight we came for their soft opening for dinner and we were so impressed. They had Italian food options which were absolutely delicious ( I tried the chicken Marsala and my husband the eggplant parm) and as people from upstate NY originally, it will totally fill the void for Italian food that we?ve sorely
Kind of a strange place. No music. Very quiet. Slight sewage smell when you walk in and very strong sewage smell in and near the bathrooms. Food was ok. Tasted like someone spilled salt in the macaroni. Sandwich was ok. Glad we tried it, but probably won't be back.
There were a lot of choices and the food was pretty good. They have bakery, breakfast, and lunch items. The stuffed biscuit I had was delicious but the burrito my wife had was nothing special. I would say the food is overpriced a little bit. I understand that it's a mountain town and they are running a business but it didn't feel like a $7-8 breakfast meal.
We stopped in for an early lunch and were served promptly. The food was delicious! One of us got the Brie, turkey, bacon and raspberry sandwich which turned out to be like a handheld thanksgiving in a. The brie was melted perfectly, raspberry sauce added tang, and when combined with the smokiness of the bacon resulted in a 10/10 for texture and flavor. We shared the green chili mac n cheese too. The cheese sauce was smooth, noodles were soft cooked, and the green chili was a good amount of spice..... not t
