Had some of the BEST cronuts I've ever had here! They also have a pistachio donut, but I didn't try that. Next time I will! Don't sleep on the banh mi sandwiches here ?? larger than the traditional small baguette sized bread, but the bread itself is baked with a light crisp crunch to it and you get even more filling inside. Staff here was SUPER friendly and sociable ??
I recently visited this charming little donut shop, and it was an absolute treat! The donuts were fresh, soft, and perfectly glazed, with a variety of flavors that satisfied my sweet tooth. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who made the experience even better. It?s a cash-only spot, which adds to the old-school charm. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious, no-frills donut experience.
First time come back to the shop after 10 years. We had known this shop since 2015. Used to come just to have some black coffee with simple cronut holes. The shop has big variety of donut, croissants, sandwiches, boba tea, and specially vietnamese sandwiches. The matcha milk tea is really good - strong matcha with low sweetness per my request. 5/5 Service was okay but not extraordinarily friendly 2/5 . Customer service changes will make a big difference!!! There are extra charges on card purchases unde
Donuts range from ~$1 for donut/cronut holes, ~$2 for regular donuts, and ~$3 for more specialty bars and fritters. They serve savory donuts and croissant sandwiches as well. The classic glazed/raised donut was pretty good. It's less yeasty but more buttery than other glazed donuts I've tried. It's pretty light and fluffy. The cronut holes look a little sad/lopsided and they're really sweet. They're also somewhat greasy or buttery on the inside despite not having been fresh out of the oven (at the time I
You will find good selection of boba tea and also donuts and cronuts. Nice place for grabbing a boba tea while exploring/walking the downtown.
I couldn't find the temporary special cereal donuts on the menu. My friend bought three FRUITY PEBBLES DONUTS. Two with White Frosting And One with Blue Frosting. We went back to Stellato for that FROOT LOOPS Milk drink. Enjoy the mix!
I spotted Royal Doughnut from main drag, thought it was a liquor store but pleasantly surprised to find a Vietnamese doughnut shop serving Banh Mi.We ordered various doughnuts ?? which of course were Bomb!Originally we stopped to get my Daughter a Red Bull which they had.Ive been around for a few years and I know that when I see food of the nation which the people are from don't pass it up,it could possibly be the best you could find.I saw that they made Banh MI which I had to try.The Barbecue Beef with extr
Update: 5/22: seems like they've gotten everything back under control. There's usually someone there as soon as we walk in the door. The only little break now is that they changed the minimum credit card order to $10 from $5 and double the fee from 25 cents to 50 cents. I get it but seriously we're buying like nine cents worth of sugar and flour you could at least eat the 25c credit card processing fee Update 01/25: Went in for donuts again, and the service was frustrating. Three employees, two customers,
I?ve been avoiding writing a bad review but the ?original royal donut? over and over disappoint me with TERRIBLE customer service and I finally have to say something. * DONT ORDER ONLINE. 10% chance they?ll actually get it. I did Grubhub once and then DoorDash thinking it was the platform to pre-order sandwiches that rake 10+ min to make. It?s not. It?s the people. They don?t know how to access the app, if they do and something goes wrong no one knows how to troubleshoot. And when I give them the chance to
They had this pistachio donut but I know it was emulating the Dubai chocolate bar from TikTok it was amazing and is everything I imagined that particular candy bar tastes like and has me craving for more. The staff was quick and helpful and definitely deserved more than the tip I gave them anyways try the pistachio donut while it's still there.
A hidden gem. Picked up a BBQ beef banh mi today for the first time. The beef was tender and the sandwich was packed with picked carrots and daikon. Service was quick. Who knew a donut shop served good banh mi. Will be recommending this place to friends.
I have now waited twice until the French Donuts were freshly made. What I'm about to say is not hyperbole: it was a religious experience. Eating those fresh gooey Donuts haunted my dreams. I will return with fellow donut fanatics.
So some people are confusing this place with the ROYAL DONUT CAFE on Broadway. Apparently there are two Donut shops/cafe in Burlingame with similar names. However, this location is located next to the Burlingame train station and Burlingame High School. They seem to be under new management and have changed the menu, interior, and employees. Recently they have added breakfast and lunch sandwiches to the menu. BUT, the Donuts still have the same golden taste which I love. Great service all around.
We love this place! The donuts are great & their bahn mi sandwiches are awesome!
Phenomenal spicy pork banh mi, rivaling the best I had in Saigon.
This is the best donut I've had in a very long time. The crew here is kind and aims to please. Feels like the best elements of a donut shop from the '80s.
They ve updated the menu! Lots of options:) We come here often. But yes, this one is located next to the railroad, and you have to put it in your GPS as ?the original royal donut? NOT ?royal donut?
I love thier vietnamese sandwiches. Growing up in San Jose I've been spoiled when it comes to vietnamese sandwiches. Coming to Burlingame it's been very difficult to find a place that could meet my expectations but until I found this place. Also the price is the cheapest I've been able to find a vietnamese sandwich in this area.
Finally caved and walked in here to try their glazed doughnut. Surprisingly light and airy and not too sweet (unlike Krispy Kreme). Conveniently located next to the Burlingame train station. Will try the cruller and apple fritter next time I feel like treating myself again!
This is one of the worst donut shops I have ever been to in my life. I went on a Tuesday night at 10 pm so sure, maybe not the best time to go. I was hungry and theres almost nothing to eat at this time of day in that neighborhood. The case was almost empty. The option was a glazed donut more or less. I asked for a ham and cheese croissant because that is what appeared to be left in the case. The guy sold me a ham egg and cheese which I only realized when I was down the street driving away. If I knew there
Cronut and cronut holes are specialties here?you?ll thank me later Washington park is right there if you want to walk & earn your sweet treat ;)
If you like Krispy Kreme you'll like their style of donuts. Price was really good as well especially considering the neighborhood of Burlingame. The ladies at the front counter were friendly and nice. I went on a Saturday morning when the cases were well stocked and the donuts tasted fresh.
Went there around 1am. Weird guys were inside. The shop guy followed me to the car. Thank you so much!! Donuts were huge and delicious!!
Great donuts, but the pork and beef banh mi were so-so?
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST DONUTS IN AMERICA!!!!! I used to eat there all the time when Caltrain was constructing their electrification-you guys kept me going!
This establishment is our preferred choice when working extended hours. I have been a patron of this establishment for over 15 years. The establishment has maintained its quality and consistently provides delicious offerings. I highly recommend this establishment. (I suggest trying the ham and cheese croissant.) It is exceptionally delectable.
Very good donuts. Cronuts were very good.
Best tasting Donuts Anywhere! Great friendly have watched my kids grow up & always ask about them.
I was going to post pictures of all the donuts I?ve gotten from here, but I always eat them too fast. I have had their bear claws, cinnamon buns, eclairs, chocolate glazed donuts, plain glazed donuts, coconut chocolate cake donuts. The plain glazed is *legitimately* the best donut I have ever eaten. My husband says so as well. They also have fantastic bagels, great coffee, and more. I can?t wait to go back to try more things. The staff is always super friendly as well. Hands down my new favorite place.
My honest opinion- a let down. - The 2 bahn mi we ordered were average but pricey for the quality - The original donut with jelly inside was the only thing I would consider getting again - I was so excited for the cronut but it was disgusting! Oily and stale-tasting. - The boba tea was all sugar! Undrinkable
It a must try, if you visit Burlingame.
The flavors of these donuts are quite solid. Cinnamon roll was like a glazed donut combined with a cinnamon roll and was great. The lady that helped us was quite nice and even gave us a bonus donut...can't say no to that. Shop sort of has that feel of like a diner in the country...next to cal-train though so it can get noisy here and there.
I?ve spent a lot of time at this place studying for college exams. The workers are always really nice and patient. The cinnamon rolls are my favorite, as well as the fruit rolls. If you go here late at night, they give you extra donuts to make way for fresh ones, you just have to ask. I?m happy they take card note, but it?s a $3 minimum.
Great doughnuts and food, kind staff.
Used to live close by, now I will travel across town for their cronuts, best on peninsula that I've found. Bahnmi sandwiches just are an added reason to go here
I love this place. The donuts are amazing they stick to the classics like glazed donuts or twisty or a chocolate cake donut covered in peanuts?? ?? ??. The sandwiches are also great ?? bbq pork is my favorite.?? The folks working there are also amazing and always happy and provide great customer service (a true treasure in Burlingame) Please ?? stop by and support this excellent business.
I like their beef banh mi and donut holes! I also get the brown sugar boba sometimes. It?s very sweet though but I like that. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves donuts and sandwiches.
I've been eating donuts here for the last 20 years and I love this place. The Apple Fritters here are second to none and are the standard that all others are compared against. All the other donuts are fantastic as well, but my wife and I always stop here for a Fritter and a coffee when we deserve a treat.
I paid $12.75 for 4 donuts... which was a ripoff. The guy ringing me out definitely overcharged on purpose (1 of the donuts was ringed up as $3.95), I wish I would have said something but was in a hurry and didn't feel like arguing. Donuts weren't bad but also nothing special and definitely not worth what I paid. There are much better donut shops in the area, with much more reasonable prices ($1.95 vs $3.95). I will never patronize this business again...
It is almost 11pm. Being used to the availability of 24/7 coffee shops, it's been a weird transition for me being on the west coast; so when I set to visit this donut shop I didn't have very high expectations of the food as bakeries on the west coast also seem to be few and far in between. I walked in, asked the gentleman behind the counter which donut he'd recommend, being confident that whatever he offers will probably taste old like any of the other baked goods I've had on this coast that claim to be "fr
I had a raised glazed donut here one Sunday morning while in town visiting my sister, and I am still craving it 5 years later. It was the fluffiest, tallest glazed donut I ever had, and just ever so lightly glazed. More donut + less glaze = heaven. I shall be back some day. ?? Best donut of my life.
Nobody I mean nobody makes chocolate old fashioned like here. Then there's the donut holes.. Highly recommend!
delicious, soft donuts! what more needs to be said? I haven't tried the ice cream or coffee, so don't know how they make it. I will add that donuts are made fresh at several times during the day, my sister picked up a donut in the evening and told me they were making fresh batches!
Right next to the Burlingame Caltrain Station this quaint and cozy diner/donut shop is perfect for a quick bite to eat after traveling by train. They have a lovely selection of breakfast sandwiches and other classic sandwich combos, with some served on a croissant. They had the usual crowd favorites as far as their donut selection, mine being the maple round. I got a Nesquick chocolate milk and donut for less than $4.50. The women working were lovely, and I noticed they sped up their work pace to serve me a
The donuts I bought from this shop are fresh, fluffy, and full of flavors. They also have excellent customer service. I encourage you to might as well try.
The doughnuts were overpriced and not fresh. They had variety and some different doughnuts with cereal toppings and Oreo topping. However, paying so much for dry doughnuts was not worth it. I used to live in the city and I payed less. Rated one dollar sign definitely worth two. Unsatisfied, won?t be returning.
Best value for donuts in my opinion. Royal has been my Bay Area go-to for donuts for most of my life - send your business their way! We need more donut shops like this.
Best place to be off your diet. These donuts are the freshest I've had in the area. Worth every calorie. Just wish they could make cider donuts and pumpkin donuts for the season just like Hacklebarney Farms.
Stopped by for lunch because I heard from a friend that the Banh mi sandwiches we're good. And oh they did not disappoint at all! Best in town hands down, highly recommend. And why not grab a few treats for dessert; cronuts, donuts, boba. YUM!
It's a small operation with classic donuts that just taste like hometown. I always make a stop here when I'm doing something in Burlingame. They also added more options like banh mi which makes it a good spot for lunch, too. Never too busy either
Price, quality and variety. The doughnuts were really really good. Also tried the banh mi's which were decent, but it tasted like they used mayo instead of pate. Still tasted decent, but a tad on the sweet side.
Spotted the Original Royal Donut from across the street while on a job. Before I left the area I had a donut and coffee, and what a donut. I haven't seen a donut like this in the Bay Area.
I am picky about reviewing donut shops. With a last name like mine, I feel duty-bound. But this place. This place makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Wow. The Banh mi, the boba, the delicious pillowy-soft donuts...the deliciously dense cake donuts. If I'm ever in the area again, this will be my lunch place everytime. Bring friends and tip well at this POC-owned donut place.
Quick in and out, and the donuts are definitely addicting ?? Want to forget how good they are, but I can't! Cronut and cronut holes are opposite of what the doctor ordered.
Great stop for food and Donuts. Owner recently started serving Banh Mi sandwiches and they're delicious. A no frills destination but above average Donuts and sandwiches.
I?ve traveled far and wide consuming fried dough. This is surprisingly my top. Crispy outer soft inner sweet but not too sweet. The original D, the original NUT, the original DONUT.
Where to go after a night hanging out with friends? This place! Was funny because the guy at the Moon Bar (Customer) in San Mateo swore up and down there was no place this could be open at 1:30 am. Guess what? He was wrong. Place was open, donuts were fresh and amazing. Perfect place to go when everything else closed.
Great 24/7 donut shop that also serves Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwiches. Staff are very friendly and helpful. This is an awesome little place.
The absolute best donuts! Pass on the chain spots and eat local. We drive from Monterey to SF for baseball games and this is a must for us. Theyre open 24 7.
I rarely eat donuts but these are The Best... ever! Sort of a dive in downtown Burlingame and has been in business forever and ever. A must try especially the cake or glazed donuts and the chocolate eclair with custard filling. OMG!
0.50 for one donut hole is price gouging. Especially since a regular chocolate iced donut is $1.95. Lady is also meh
Expensive as hell!!! Got 2 breakfast croissants one bacon and another with sausage and it taste bland!!! And it came to $22 Didn't try the donuts but they did look good!!
Small donut shop with many choices of donut and coffee. The raisin croissant and double chocolate donut cake are always my favorite.
Love to take the grandkids here. We all love the fresh donuts they make daily. Arrive early to get your favorite. They sell fast here!
There aren't a lot of places in the Bay Area these days that are open 24/7, so props to this donut shop for being one of them. Pretty good variety of donuts as well as other pastries.
Great Donuts , I would say The Original Royal are Even with Stan Donuts Both great!
My favorite place to get donuts. They're open late and that's when you get the fresh donuts. They also have breakfast sandwiches and boba drinks.
The donuts and cronuts would taste better if they changed the frying oil more. The donuts taste like old oil. It has a burnt, rancid taste.
Unassuming spot with XL fluffy donuts. Can't go wrong with a glazed donut! Open 24 hrs is a big plus.
Fabulous neighborhood donut place with high quality items. Staff is terrific -- super hard working and they treat folks like family. And they also take credit cards now. :)
Tried the grilled chicken Vietnamese sandwich. Quite tasty and filling. Cronuts were light and flaky. Delicious.
Noice. Excellent donuts & cronuts. Breakfast Sandwiches are very popular. Bahn Mi Sandwich is highly recommended.
good donuts n coffee but their banh mi and breakfast sandwiches are AMAZING and need to be more known about
Best donuts in Burlingame - they?ll do when you have a craving but they?re 4-star donuts, nothing special to go out of your way for. I recommend the raised donuts (vs cake donuts).
Little hole in the wall by the train station. Really good selection of donuts and they always seem to be open no matter what time it is. The owners are super friendly guys.
Great donut shop! Don't forget they have boba, sandwiches and coffee!
Great little doughnut shop. Delicious doughnuts served by a friendly staff. You can see them being made fresh in the back of the shop.
This is a great local spot. I just found out it's twenty four hours!
This place is awesome. Open 24 hours and the donuts are delicious . Staff is friendly too, great selections.
Every American loves donuts. This shop Is ?The Best?. You won?t be disappointed. Nice staff also.
Best donuts on the Peninsula. Their french crullers are the bomb! Also try their cheese danishes, they're pretty good.
Awesome REAL doughnuts, right next to the train station. Sadly, woman behind the counter would have liked to be anywhere else on earth, and seemed irritated that other people were in the store.
Convenient ti downtown and train station. Fresh donuts, boba selection delightful. Open 24 hours
The doughnuts are pretty good, and they have a decent selection. However, the 5 Stars are for being open 24 hours.
First time ordered donuts via DoorDash. All donuts were so delicious and we loved them!
Delicious ice cream here. She gave me with a big scoop. Donut was fine too. She even call a taxi for me here.
Cute little donut shop with cheap baked goods and excellent eclairs, just bursting with custard! Talking to the old-timers haunting this place was quite fun.
Pretty good donuts and banh mi sandwiches but both can be a little on the oily side
