I am incredibly disappointed with a cake I recently purchased from The Home Bakery. I picked it up on June 7, 2025 for an event the next day, as the bakery is closed on Sundays. I followed their instructions precisely, storing the cake in a shaded area of my home. Despite this, within hours, the front of the cake bubbled, and the buttercream completely collapsed, exposing the white cake. This was a major issue, causing significant stress and forcing me to find another bakery last-minute to re-frost the dama

One of the BEST bakeries. I will literally drive 40 minutes out my way for just a cupcake, brownie or chocolate pretzels! Love this place and have been going for a couple years now. Everyone is very sweet and when I go in everyone it feels like a new experience. Highly recommend!!

Genius marketing ideas?.A+ for effort. Came here to check out the life sized Lions cake and it was awesome. It?s a destination in Rochester. Now as far as the baked goods that I tried, I would say it?s pretty average. The chocolate chip cookie was ok and salted with I liked. The cannoli was a disappointment as the shell was extremely soggy and the filling was just ok. Nice spot to try out, staff was nice.

A group of girls from work drove there to see the St. Brown cake, we drove 45 minutes and missed the cut-off by 3 minutes to get into the bakery. I'm definitely not mad. Easy to work with and so thrilled with the outcome! I worked with Kaylee and she was super to work with. I had the cake as my gender reveal for my macaw and handed an envelope with the gender. That way it was a surprise for everyone! The cake was delicious and so neat! They gave the price up front so I knew what I was expecting. My only complaint is I called Saturday morning 4x and they didn't answer. I assume that's their busiest time of day. Had someone else pick up the cake for me and had no issues. So

We used The Home Bakery for our daughter?s wedding cake. Not only were all the different layers and flavors delicious, the cake design was phenomenal and spot on for what our daughter was looking for, a wildflower theme. That also included their dogs on the cake! Highly recommend The Home Bakery and we will use them for all our bakery needs!

Their cronut was absolutely delightful. It was chock full of a light but tasty vanilla cream. The cronut itself was chewy, covered in cinnamon sugar, and topped with vanilla icing. Sooooooo good. Definitely will be ordering from here again.

I tried the Kronut and it was amazing and filling. The cookies were much larger than I expected. The peanut butter was so good. The atmosphere was of course on point. Mary and Kaley were so helpful to me especially as I?m on crutches. Having lines all day, I felt like I was their first customer and it was at the end of the day. Had my husband swing by to pick up my daughter?s bday cake. He said that they had to take it in the back for several minutes to stabilize it while he waited and this is what he brought home hours before the party. ?? No changing this one ! We had a last minute request and Home Bakery nailed it. Their customer service was excellent as they walked us through the process and they didn't try to upsell us, just made sure everything was perfect. Very happy with the product, but it was really the service that was over the top. They're a Rochester staple for a reason!

Ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry mousse with a camping theme and 3d decor. This amateur Walmart looking CHOCOLATE cake is what I received. It was dry and dense with gritty buttercream . For $110 I expected it to be what I asked for or at least the correct flavor. When I picked it up I also purchased a cannoli which had a mushy shell and was clearly old. Super disappointed in this place.

I was looking for a bakery for my sister in law bridal shower and The Home was recommended to me. When we walked up to the bakery we saw tons of people walking around eating baked goods and I said this is a good sign. I rushed out of work Wednesday to be a part of the hype. There were about 10 of us waiting in line to buy some baked goods and enter to win tickets. One customer had driven 2 hours to be there. We were assuming that as the inside customers left they would let us in. Nope. Instead, they just locked the doors and left us standing outside. I'm still dumbfounded by the lack of customer service. I wonder if this would have been the case a month ago - before the St. Brown cake.

My coworkers parents got us a box of these donuts? they all looked phenomenal, however I limited myself to one. I chose the square one in the top right corner, hands down best donut I?ve ever had! All my coworkers liked the donuts they picked too!

This place is the ultimately bakery that provides the most absolute fabulous designs a birthday cake could ever see, they should be national contestants on a TV show. I wanna start by saying thank you for making my son's first smash cake. The cake definitely served it's purpose. He was very excited to smash his first cake. Flavor wise though I would rate this at one ?. The flavor one had one note which was sugar. While the cake was for a 1yr old I was really hoping for his first taste of cake to be more flavorful. We had the BEST experience with Rochester Home Bakery! This past summer, our wedding cake was cancelled two weeks before our wedding by another bakery. After calling around and around we finally got ahold of Home Bakery and they were the only ones willing to work with us. Within two weeks we met with them, did a full tasting, and ordered a cake. AhhhMazing, there's no shortage of places to get sweet treats but this one is just different. The selection is overwhelming in a good way because I literally just want to buy and eat everything. The store is clean and well organized but the biggest thing for me is the people, everybody that works there is smiling and laughing and enjoying themselves and that to me means that it's a great place to work and that love shows in their products.

I bought 3 cookies, snicker doodle and chocolate, they were awful tasting, lard and flour absolutely no flavor. Also bought 2 danish, cheese and supposedly raspberry, those were okay but I don?t think I?ll try them again. Yuck and our service was not friendly at all. I have been ordering cakes from this bakery for over 13 years. Yesterday, I placed an order for my daughter's 16th birthday cake. After seeing the design I chose, my daughter asked if we could switch it to another design. Same chocolate cake, same size/shape, different frosting colors. I called the bakery to ask to switch and was informed since it was less than 7 days from pick-up (5 days away) that no changes could be made. Probably the worst paczkis we have ever eaten. They were like eating a dried-out filled donut. Leads me to believe they must bake them 1+ days in advance. Definitely NOT fresh. It's very obvious they don't use a REAL paczki recipe. Definitely NOT your traditional paczki at all! Avoid this place for if you want a quality paczki! Way overpriced for the poor quality you get.

The fact that these guys delivered a wedding cake (albeit for 30-ish people) with our preferred design, and added a tier per their suggestion, all IN A WEEK, just shows that they get the job done.
