The donuts are incredibly delicious especially their new protein donuts with 18 grams of protein. My son enjoyed the chocolate croissant and raved about the generous chocolate portion. Definitely a nice place to have a donut along with a latte.
Saw this place on tik tok and wanted to try it out. The staff was so friendly and helpful with answering my questions. The donuts look fresh, and were displayed perfectly. They have them all lined up so you can see exactly what is available. I'm not vegan but they seemed to have a good variety there for vegans to enjoy. Donuts were baked perfectly, but they were to sweet for me. If I had someone else that liked these kinds of donuts, then it would have been perfect. So make sure to bring a friend to enjoy t
These are the most delicious donuts we had in California! They look so tasty, the flavor and texture is wonderful...! The staff is super nice! This shop made our trip to Cali even greater. Thank you!
This morning, my wife and I enjoyed a smooth cup of coffee at The Goods, located in the Carlsbad Village area. Yes, The Goods offers espresso drinks, but this place seems to be known for their yummy donuts and other baked breakfast treats. The bakery adds a delightful aroma. Though a bit chilly inside, people came to enjoy a cinnamon roll with their coffee. This place appeals to a younger crowd, which is heard in the music played. The sign painted on the wall "Glaze and Grind" accurately captures the vibe
I will be dreaming of these donuts for weeks. The brown butter and sea salt donut was served warm and was the perfect amount of crisp on the outside and soft and cakey interior. The Dubai chocolate donut was fluffy and had amazing flavor in the filling and on top. I'm glad I'm here from out of town or I would spend every weekend in this spot.
Cinnamon Roll is delicious ?? icing is not sweet at all! Hot mocha ?? ?? and lots of vegan options!
We love this place, new flavors every month, we often go from Del Mar to Carlsbad for very tasty donuts and coffee. Our favorites are Kruffin and Boston Cream. And for your pets, there are donuts with peanuts and pumpkin. Very delicious ??
The best gluten free and vegan donuts in San Diego! There are so many options to choose from and the donuts themselves are delicious and soft. I will always come here if I?m in Carlsbad village area. Their matcha also is great!
The Goods is my favorite donut shop in Carlsbad, CA. Whenever I?m in town, this is one of my main spots to go to! I highly recommend it. The donuts aren?t too sweet, they are just the right amount of goodness.
It?s a great place located in the heart of the village. The donuts ?? look great. It?s a great atmosphere. The donuts look out of a movie set. Dangerous to eat but proceed with caution. Don?t eat the whole tray. It?s addicting to even look at. Seriously!!!
UPDATE #2: 4 years later, this place just keeps getting better. They just came out with protein donuts (also gluten free!) in both strawberry and chocolate/peanut butter flavor. Soft and absolutely delectable! UPDATE: 2 years after the first review, this place is still the best. The coolest staff who get to know the regulars, super nice to everyone, and they always have the coolest flavor combos! Tried the rosemary chicken and waffle donut today? some bakery genius right there. 10/10 you have to stop here.
Went on the recommendation of a friend and the bakery was amazing. Relaxed atmosphere, patio area as well as indoors. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Donuts looked amazing not a huge variety but perfect selection options. Was a little higher priced but accurate for area. 4 stars for priced higher and no samples.
The donuts here are delicious and beautifully presented. The service at The Goods was exceptional! Especially DEX, he took the time to ask what you like and help you pick the perfect donut for you! The atmosphere is was very cozy and welcoming. Indulge !! I love their cookies too! I could go on & on 10/10 recommend!
Went for the gluten free donuts and they did not disappoint. A good variety of flavors and they were some of the best donuts I've had.
First time in this morning, great staff, awesome donuts! I did not pay much attention to sugar or health consciousness, but if a great maple bacon and Boston cream is supposed to be healthy I may have chosen something different. Was delicious, hope I get the chance soon to try some more of what they offer. Thanks you!! ??
What a lovely spot in downtown Carlsbad. Found through the ?Find Me Gluten-Free? and was pleasantly surprised to hear that some GF donuts remained on a Friday afternoon. The variety of gluten-free flavor options was great l, with a few vegan/GF options, too. The GF donuts were moist and flavorful. Definitely worth the stop!!
This place has it all. It's cute, vintage feelings. It's pretty, the donuts are presented in a beautiful layout. And they are very tasty. We got the Nutella buttercream filled, the triple berry filled, the crueller and the banana and peanut butter. The best was the Nutella. It was not too heavy or thick, so not like Nutella spread, and the donut was fluffy with a light sugar coating. The worst was unfortunately the crueller, it was actively cold like it was just taken from a fridge. This is not what you wan
The Goods is an outstanding doughnut shop! Their Boston Cream is exceptional?rich, creamy, and delectably airy with every bite. The service is excellent?a knowledgeable and efficient team?and the atmosphere is equally impressive, offering a relaxed, inviting vibe that feels just right. I limit my visits due to calorie concerns, but when I'm ready for a cheat day, this is my go-to spot. It's definitely worth the journey for a delightful indulgence!
Excellent gluten free donuts. They were different than most I?ve had. A bit spongier. We enjoyed ours. They had a limited number of gluten free donuts but both we tried were light and flavorful. We will definitely go back.
For the sweet + experimental lover ???? Amazing donut assortment! They have regular and gluten free options which is perfect for a those who have celiac or a gluten allergy. I tried the regular moose munch which had a chocolate glaze, caramel popcorn, & crushed pretzels ?? I normally enjoy a classic glazed donut but I recommend taking advantage of their fun flavors- totally worth it ?? There is seating inside which makes it a nice spot for breakfast and coffee. I recommend their brown sugar latte. The gir
Would recommend visiting this shop earlier rather than later in the day. I arrived around 2pm and there were about seven varieties of donuts to choose from but by the time I left, there were only about three options available (including the vegan and protein options). It was hard to choose a flavor because they all sounded so appealing and creative!
I?m from Boston and their caramel latte was the best I?ve ever had also their GF donuts are to die for. I?ll be back!!
If you're looking for a truly amazing donut experience in Carlsbad, look no further than The Goods. This small, but mighty donut shop is known for its creative and delicious donuts, made with fresh, local ingredients. The Goods' donuts are made with a brioche dough, which gives them a light and airy texture. The flavors are always changing, but you can always expect to find classics like glazed, chocolate frosted, and maple bacon. But it's the more unique flavors that really set The Goods apart. Have you e
Best donuts I've ever had in my life! I saw this place on tik tok and had to stop by. They were short on a few items but what we did have was fresh and just amazing. The love that goes into this place is top notch. I wish there was one in the IE
Delicious donuts. We got gluten free and regular donuts and both were good. I didn?t care for the chocolate on the donuts because it didn?t taste like milk chocolate. It was more on the bitter dark side.
Very likely the best fritter I've ever had--and I've had my share. My daughter loved the maple bar, but you have to get here early to grab one of those.
I?m not a huge donut fan, but I find myself returning to The Goods for their monthly flavors along with the Nutella buttercream and churro cruller. I haven?t gone to any other stores because I know the quality and ingredients won?t be matched. It is expensive but definitely worth the quality and great service.
The Goods never disappoints. Every single donut/pastry I?ve tried from here is absolutely delicious. My best friend with Celiacs said the gluten-free donuts are the best she?s ever tasted! We love The Goods ????
The BEST gluten free donuts. Full stop. What more can be said? Edit: Donuts are 10/5 Drinks are 0/5 The Goods still averages a perfect score but for as excellent as the donuts are, the drinks are equally terrible (coffee, tea, and juices included in this statement).
I am giving this a 4 based on my husband's vote. I actually thought a three or three and a half was appropriate, based on flavor, but adding in service and ambiance gives it a boost...The shop is really cute nestled in the Village in Carlsbad. The decor and feel matches the 1920's building, which is fun. The donuts look beautiful in the glass- the colors and sheen of the glazes are really exciting. We got 1 of each kind, which at $3.50-$4.00 each, well, that's more than I spend on my clothes. We took our pr
The donuts are absolutely amazing! Unmatched! Even the alternative donuts (vegan, gluten free, etc.) are delicious. I actually prefer the gluten free ones. And the holiday special are a must try. The service on the other hand could very much be improved. The staff are often times so engaged with each other they?re just barely paying attention to the customer. Fortunately, they?re able to multitask so you still get your order, but it?s really impersonal. I?m a local so I come often. I get the same drink ev
The donuts are so good. Also they have 3 day made croissants with rosemary ham and jalape?o. The vanilla cruffin is amazing. Some of the best food I have ever had and the customer service is exemplary. They always make you feel Welcome!
Extremely tasty brown sugar/sea salt donut (and equally good gluten free options! Must try when in Carlsbad!
Incredible artisan donuts, made from local ingredients every hour, upon the hour. They also have espresso and it's variations, to wash down that churro cruller made seconds ago. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Super friendly, genuine and full of passion. A must stop in Carlsbad. Yum!
Cute atmosphere, some yummy fluffy donuts with unique flavors. Plus there are vegan and gluten free options which is amazing! A bit pricey as 6 donuts cost about $25 with tip. Understandable though for artisan donuts and a small business. Unfortunately, coffee was out as well due to no hot water. It was a great experience regardless, friendly staff. Would probably visit again (especially cause I want to try the coffee!)
First time here today! Although it was raining, we decided to wait in the long line to give it a try, and we were not disappointed!! Line went fast, great customer service, and delicious gourmet donuts. The average cost of the donuts were $3.50-$4, but were so fresh and melted in my mouth! We tried the classical glaze, Apple fritter (made with fresh apples and not pre-made sugary filling), a maple bacon donut and cinnamon roll. All of the treats we tasted were worth the price and wait!
I wanted to send an email to them and make this critical review private but obviously they don't like contact. Definitely one of the worst donuts and over priced. Their cinnamon role is not buttery and pull apart with gooey cinnamon. It is a dense white bread like pastry, dry and topped with a cream cheese spread. Not 100% cream cheese. The shortening can be tasted. Not organic at all or use of non refined sugars and iodized salt. I can notice by the inflammation. All their donuts are extremely messy. from
These donuts are perfection... chewy & fluffy and moist, just enough sweetness. What more could you ask for in a donut. I wouldn?t hesitate to go again.
SO GROSS?I believe they make great donuts but the lady serving made my joy going down ?? She grabs my $20 bill, gives me change with her gloves and keeps her gloves to grab donuts? SO GROSS !!! CLEAN HANDS ARE BETTER THAN DIRTY GLOVES !! Where is the clean purpose training???
This gluten-free Strawberry Shortcake doughnut made me want to cry - the happiest of tears! This is by far the best gluten-free ANYTHING I?ve ever had! If you?re anywhere near here, make sure to stop in - you will be so happy you did! ??
My boyfriend and I came here to try the gluten free donuts. I had the GF chocolate ganache and he had a jalape?o croissant. Both were very good! We will be back.
Donut Series, Part 1 ?I should run, on the double. I think I?m in trouble.? Lindsey Buckingham ?The Goods? was recommended to us for a review by @mrstvoros (their reputation reached all the way to her in Colorado) and @donuthunting (a.k.a., ?The Sommelier of Donuts? ??). Located in the heart of the Carlsbad Village, this place immediately challenged any shred of discipline that we thought we could muster and we should have immediately walked out after arriving. There was just no way this was going to en
Loved this little place and the experience brought with it! Latte was made perfectly; mildly sweet with a creamy vanilla finish. Donut melted away in my mouth. Lighting, seating, and cleanliness was perfect for the Carlsbad area. ??
Really friendly service. They bake their gf donuts and take cross contamination of gluten seriously. Great selection of gf and dairy free options. Would recommend to celiacs. Delicious cold brew as well.
The donuts are always so good, along with their coffees/teas! BUT the key lime/coconut donut was the best donut I?ve ever had. (I got the gluten free option)
Best donuts in N. County by far. A bit more gournet than your typical donut shop. We love taking our friends and family when they are in town.
Overall really happy with this place. We've tried a lot of donut places around SD county and this is in our top 2 along with donut bar in downtown SD. The donuts all had a great flavor and texture and for $3-4 apiece i thought it was fair. The reeses peanut butter was a great balance of flavors without being too rich or sweet but it was super messy with the whipped filling. Pink champagne was sweet and citrusy and had a nice berry flavor. The maple was good too, but i wish it was a little less sweet and a l
Both great classics and super original flavors in one cute shop. Been here twice on our vacation in the area and tried most flavors. The churro cruller was out of this world: fluffy , airy , crunchy... The Nutella buttercream was lovely, as well as the lavender / lemon curd. I would be here weekly if I lived around.
This was a fantastic discovery during a short stay in nearby Oceanside. Staff was amazing and these were easily in our top five donuts. The cake donut we tried melted in our mouth with a great slightly crisp outside texture. Also highly recommend sampling a ?cruffin? - a muffin with flaked layer pastry. Unbelievably delicious!
My entire experience at The Goods was 5 stars from beginning to end; friendly staff that greeted my family upon entry; a nicely displayed variety of donuts with detailed descriptions; the soft velvety blue seating area; a very picturesque atmosphere; and not to mention a bathroom door that welcomes everyone from mermaids to centaurs! Back to the donuts...I tried the ?Special? and it was a fresh, soft, flavorful, sweet, custard filled, topped with blueberry cobbler donut. It was filling, satisfying and the
High quality donuts! The seasonal berry was delicious. Good gluten free options, both GF and GF + vegan!
This isn't your typical donut shop. They have gluten free and vegan flavors (AMAZING by the way, best gluten free donut I've ever had in my life! So fluffy and moist) and rotating gourmet flavors. Get here sooner rather than later, they do sell out! I'm coming back here for sure. Everything was so good.
Sum this place in one word... Amazing! The coffee is really good, I would like to see a larger cup, though. ?? The doughnuts... OMG! Incredible!! You have GOT to try the brown butter doughnut... It's the best! Love this place!!
The brown butter sea salt. Best donut I?ve ever had. Timing was lucky that I got one that had JUST been made. But, man alive, that thing was amazing
By far the best donuts in San Diego..such a great variety, all fresh ingredients, you can?t just buy one. This is a must try if you?re coming to Carlsbad Village.!!!
Awesome place. Donuts are amazing. Steady flow of people coming in on Saturday mornings. Staff is great and energetic. Highly recommend in the morning to get your day started.
I have been experienced doughnut bliss. I have had many many doughnuts in my life, but so far, the Goods are my favorite. They are opened until they run out. The doughnuts are made right there behind a glass. I bought the Peanut butter chocolate and the fresh berries. I dont eat bacon anymore, but THEY MAKE A BACON MAPLE DOUGHNUT, sorry for yell, but it looked so yummy. I will be back. Oh get there early, or the little lady might get them all. They have big size boxes. The staff is very friendly.
The Goods deserves 6 stars for the quality and deliciousness of their donuts. Friendliness of the service and the atmosphere are solid 5s. My family picked up a 1/2 dozen to try and every single one of them was fresh, delicious and had well composed flavor and texture. The Churro donut had a slightly crisp exterior coated with the perfect amount of cinnamon and not too much sugar and had a nice fluffy, but not hallow middle. The Boston Cream didn't have a flaw and tasted like it was baked with care and sup
Excellent selection of basic donuts and specialty options. Had a chocolate glazed which I scarfed down before taking a photo. The powdered beignet very good. Would say best spot north of VG Donuts in Cardiff.
Great customer service, good looking food, nice environment. Problem though that all premium food places suffer - the doughnuts are very richly flavored. The filled doughnuts don't use fruit filling - they use full on jelly. Flavors not balanced, feels too much. Ingredients though taste premium. Worth a try, just go in with expectations. They make great coffee and lemonade too.
Very mediocre donut shop. 4 different donuts with the same opinion. I'm not sure if the turnover rate is low but felt that it was not fresh. Almost $20 for 4 donuts take a hard pass at this place. P.s. I'm not skinny unlinke their clientele so you can trust me.
My family and I love getting donuts from the Goods on the weekend. If you go on a weekend morning prepare for a bit of a line...but the wait is always worth it for us. Favorite donuts: Apple Fritter, Chocolate sprinkles and Boston Cream. Also Smores and Peach Fritter (seasonal).
The Brown Butter Cake Donut was bliss. We weren't wild about the dough for the filled donuts. And we actually didn't like the Boston Cream; it just didn't have much flavor. I loved the Iced Salted Caramel Mocha, the Ham Croissant and Apple Fritter. It's such a cute place with a great vibe, and the sweetest staff. I would definitely try it out.
I always want to like this place, but I'm always kinda disappointed. Matcha latte had very apparent milk particles in it that didn't blend smoothly, so I blended it again at home, but it's still there. Donuts are veryy pretty don't get me wrong, but there's no ac in this shop and my pretty donuts didn't even last the 5 minutes drive home. Also a bit too sweet. Bummer, won't try again.
Donuts are very good but sell out & they close midday so plan your visit accordingly. Coffee is decent, I got a white chocolate mocha and is pretty good.
Came for the doughnuts, stayed for the doughnuts. They are just amazing, delicious and unforgettable. Just amazing people making amazing doughnuts. Love it!
How can any place called The Goods have anything other than good stuff inside? Well in this instance, it can't, & doesn't. If you've read any of my reviews, or seen some of the pics I post, you can figure out I have a Major League sweet tooth. I'll have to chalk that one up to genetics & both sides of the ole family ??. What I'm trying to say is, why fight it? Bring on the sweet stuff, just within moderation- say maybe once a week! I like the Goods, because you can get an amazingly different-than-the
Great spot to pick up gluten free donuts! It?s not often you can find FRESH donuts that are also gluten free, AND also have options too! We tried the bacon and maple donuts, Boston cr?me and chocolate donuts, all of which were very tasty. Great to have choices to pick from. Coffee and drinks are available too!
Love it, love it l, love it Worth the drive for Ladera Rancho. Great and a lot of varieties (see photos) Friendly staff and cooperative
DELICIOUS. Plus the place is cute and clean and staff is super friendly. My second experience was just as good as the first. Try the brown butter & sea salt!
So Yummy! In CA from IA with a gluten free friend and she is very happy with the GF selection and taste. Had the cranberry cheesecake filled and it was awesome!
If you're visiting this area, this place is a must. Everything is being baked in house daily with a full kitchen staff going 24/7. Seems like. We tried several different donuts and they were all excellent. The donuts itself are a little more expensive than normal, but a great place to go and try.
$60 for a dozen doughnuts.. They don?t suck, but not great either. I have to leave a review because the insane price and average quality
Carlsbad Village is evolving into a cool town with happening places to hang, eat, drink and so on. THE GOODS just opened a few weeks back, 8-2017 LOVE the inside look, clean, white, brite, funky contemporary. They offer a homemade style donut with modern flavors. Lots of friendly help, regular coffee and espresso drinks. Plenty of seating, comfy blue banquet and cafe tables with bar and stools in the windows with a few table and chairs outside. Definitley worth a look and a try. #JeffSOLD #Carlsbad
This a cute spot and their donuts look beautiful. But to be honest the donut I had was so sweet that I didn't enjoyed it. Maybe I need to try a different kind or just the regular donuts that they have.
The gluten free donuts are delicious ?
Very cute place, super trendy and picture friendly. The girls working the counter were patient and friendly. I tried the brown butter and strawberry cheesecake flavors, both were great! Everything was great beside the Disney music being played, I don?t mind Disney music normally but it felt out of place and was very loud. Overall, great for donuts and a cute spot though!
The Goods feels so homey. A friendly staff and simple decore. Since it's the same owner as Cafe Topes I knew it would be delicious. Highly recommend the apple fritter. It's not heavy and greasey, instead it has a soft and light breading with good sized seasoned apples and a thin crispy outer crust topped with a "donut" glaze. Definitely worth the $4! I can honestly say the best donut shop I've been to. If you don't like donuts I'd recommend the cinnamon roll and get it "dirty".
Best donuts I've ever had. Better than Voodoo Donuts if you can believe that. Filling and icings off are off the charts. Get the Oreo!!
I bought 4 donuts but by the time I remembered to take a photo, two of them were gone haha. Anyways, I read about this placr from an Instagram poster and then reinforced my desire to go after hearing the pastry chef got to go on Spring Baking Championship (even if it didn't go great) and wanted to stop by. I stopped by near the end of the day so my selection was more limited and it wasn't as fresh as possible (that's on me.) I got a Maple Bacon, Chocolate Sprinkle, Citrus Cruffin, and Blackberry Citrus Croi
Freshly made specialty donuts and Andrew was so accommodating. He makes the perfect latte. And the cinnamon roll is Huge!
These donuts are gigantic and creative. The donut itself was not the best, it was kinda dry. It is a pretty shop though!
Very Good donuts here at this fantastic place. My wife has Celiac, so what's awesome about this place is that they have gluten free donuts. Let me tell you.. they are delicious.. They have a huge variety of different flavors of these gluten free donuts.. Highly recommend this Donut shop for gluten free Celiac options.. If your in Carlsbad definitely stop by for these.. They also have regular donuts as well..
Super friendly staff. Even got two donuts free! Also I love a Boston creme donut, I get one at every donut place. And this was easily the best Boston creme I've ever had. The custard filling was exactly what I've always dreamed, actual custard - not that pudding stuff like at Dunkin.
Outstanding donuts, super fresh tasting. Staff are friendly as well. This place is a must!
Another amazing ?go to? place in Carlsbad. The Churro donut is off the hook!!! I could eat a dozen of these bad boys! And then you have the maple bacon!!! This is how you ruin your health and smile at the same time!!!
Whether it?s juice and smoothies or salads and wraps, The Goods has the goods. Fresh fresh fresh is the name of the game here and that?s what sets them apart from the Jamba Juices of the world. You?ll find friendly service and knowledgeable staff as well.
My daughter was gifted a customized dozen donuts from the Goods and wow they were truly amazing in presentation, quality and flavor. There were all delish and will definitely go there for our next donut fix.
