The food was delicious. The server was nice and helpful. We got the food promptly. We picked a good time to go because it wasn?t too busy. We got the Classic Pasty, miner?s Breakfast Pasty, and Grumpy Morning Miner. We all enjoyed them. Two huge donuts yummy.
I?m so tired of the places going out of their way to make everything oversized. Strawberry cheesecake donut was the better donut out of the 3. Strawberry 8/10 Glaze 3/10 Maple 3/10 The donuts are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dry. You can barely taste the glaze.
This place went viral for a reason! HUGE donuts that are light and fluffy. Soft and fresh bagels! Savory Pasties, which are a hand made pie filled with savory fillings and baked to perfection. We went early to get the best selection and even on a random morning they were busy. Such a yummy place!!
Dough is appropriate as they taste and look like thick white bread with some sweet toppings. If you like thick dry bread this is your place. The cinnamon roll was the best item we tried. DON?T recommend the DOUGHnut items.
OMG NOT WORTH IT?? my maple bar was dry, old and stale!!! I called and asked politely if maybe I can drive over and I?m willing to drive over bc originally I ordered it on doordash to maybe switch it out for something more fresh if possible. I was met with hostility as the girl who answered the phone told me ?idk what you want me to do about it? ??????? I can?t even. And typically wouldn?t have cared but this is the 2nd time I?ve received a stale donut. I live in the neighborhood so imagine my excitement t
I ordered the spicy miner on an everything bagel and the chocolate tantrum, claim jumper, and canyon custard donuts. The sandwich was delicious but did immediately fall apart. No big deal. The canyon custard donut was very good, but the custard wasn?t that great. The claim jumper was fine. Now for the chocolate tantrum? I bit into it and it was raw! Absolutely disgusting play-doh like consistency. I guess it?s called The Dough Miner for a reason; you actually have to dig the raw dough out of your donut. I t
We did a maple bar taste test between here and 5 other local donut shops and unfortunately Dough Miners was our least favorite. However, I did get their classic glazed, and I was not disappointed! Their miners breakfast pasty is fine. Once I got to the middle the flavor was good, but It definitely needs some sauce or something to help with the thickness of the pastry. Note that the square donut is not from dough miner (the large glazed donut is dough miner).
My wife and I enjoyed the Miner?s Breakfast Pastie and a Canyon Custard doughnut and they were great. Quiet Saturday morning eating in the restaurant. We would come again!!
Amazing! The pictures do not do justice on the size of the donuts or the pastries! Everything had the most amazing, delicious flavor! Would highly recommend! Lots to look at and try! The Miner's Breakfast was amazing! Loved the flavor and the sheer size of the portion really filling!
Awesome little place. The bagel sandwiches were fantastic. The cinnamon rolls were great, and the glazed donut is phenomenal. That's all I tried so far, but I'm definitely going back this weekend to try some more food. Parking is easy, with plenty of spaces, unlike most areas in the busy parts of Salt Lake. The size of the donuts will shock you. Great atmosphere, nice and clean. I highly recommend it.
If you?re looking for a unique doughnut go here. We consistently look for the best doughnut places and this place is solid for Salt Lake. At first thought you?d think that huge doughnuts would be hard to cook and hard to eat, totally true, but at least for our experience it was super good. The maple doughnut was so good, It was even better because it was warm. One downside is it?s not the place you go for doughnuts when you?re late for work and want to bring in a dozen, you?d need two huge boxes, it?s de
As a Native Michigander I was blown away to find, what for me, is the food of my youth, locally! Absolute home run! The pasties (and donuts) and 10/10! The service and cozy spot and are all 10/10! Get your Pastie experience on with total confidence!
Lovely spot for something savory or something sweet. There are a ton of choices here, but I ended up going with the Miner?s Breakfast Pasty and the Good Ol? Glazed donut. Both were huge in size that I ended up sharing it with my coworkers. Service is fast and they were patient enough to explain all of the food they offer and what was the most popular. I love that the experience in Dough Miner is unlike any other bakery you?ll go to at Salt Lake. This place is special. I look forward to my next visit!
My wife and I travel throughout the year. When we get into town, I always look for a good cinnamon roll. My wife got the breakfast pastry. This place is amazing. Everything thing is fresh. Come prepared to share or be really hungry because everything is huge. You won't be disappointed
Food is 5 stars! I highly recommend the Classic pasty or the funeral potato pasty. They're full of flavor and so delicious! One is very filling. We got HP sauce, brown gravy and ketchup. HP sauce and brown gravy were a hug hit with my group of three. I'm not a huge sweet person but we got the chocolate tantrum and lemon poppy donuts, they were divine. The only reason I put 4 stars is because it's more of a grab and go, instead of sit and enjoy kind of place.
This hole in the wall has a wonderful selection of "potpie-like" pastries that they refer to as pasties and mammoth sized yeast donuts. The breakfast party. I had the Miner's Breakfast Pasty and it was very tasty. The Chocolate Tantrum doughnut was a big hit with the family. Lots of options still to try - Bagel sandwiches, lunch/dinner options, etc. Very large portions. Definitely worth a visit.
Our donuts were like personal cakes they were so big, we spilt 1 and still couldn't eat it all! So scrumptious.
A new top notch donut place in Utah. The donuts are huge! The maple bar donut has to be our favorite maple bar in Utah. The strawberry donut was also excellent and was quickly gobbled up by the kids. The custard donut was not quite as popular and the breakfast pastie was just okay. Would give it a 5/5 other than the custard donut and pastie.
Bought three doughnuts, 2 of them were raw in the middle ?? and the Bavarian cream had VERY little cream, it wasn?t even seen when I cut it in half. The pasties were good though. I made a special trip downtown for this and was sadly underwhelmed.
Really great food! I used them to cater a small event for about 30 people. They were great to work with leading up to the event, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend the miner's breakfast pasty.
So cool and cheery! We loved our massive donuts and pastys.
I mildly fell in love with this place after one visit. The pasties, doughnuts, and other baked goods all looked heavenly. They also serve up customizable bagel sandwiches with more options than you'll find most places. My lox, fried egg, avo, garlic aioli was very solid. The bagel quality is much closer to NYC than panera lol -- nice crust without being toasted. The curry up pasty was heavenly -- soft, thick, rich shell with delicious and subtly sweet curry flavors stuffed inside of it. It was huge and supe
I've driven by at least three dozen times and today I finally stopped! It was worth it, and then some. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. And that was just the first five minutes of my time in the Dough Miner. I ordered the Buffalo Helper and was immediately transported to the UP of Michigan where I first had Pasties. As I savored every bite, the staff continued to check on me to ensure I had enough coffee and water, and continued their friendliness, thanking me as I walked out. I will defi
The donuts are huge and very pricey. The location is convenient for the neighborhood. I don't know what the deal is with men who work in bakeries. They are always cold, sour, and rude. I'm sorry you guys don't have a 6 figure salary and have to work in a hot kitchen early in the morning, but if you don't want to work in service, get out of the kitchen. I was practically ignored when I walked in, waited a few minutes until the guy grudgingly took my order, accepted payment and disappeared to the back without
genuinely the best bagels in all of salt lake city nothing compares. they have avocado, they got cholula, bagels made in-house, bacon cooked to perfection, egg cooked to perfection, bagel toasted to perfection, they have craft coffee drinks, & it hits every. single. time. always recommend this place to every person i know that mains babys. gotta put them on cause this place is so underrated and doesnt get the business it deserves
Was looking for a dairy free (vegan) doughnut for my daughter on our trip to SLC and this place was the only one we could find that was still in business. The doughnut was HUGE! We very much enjoyed it!
We went here to grab a quick breakfast sandwich and they ended up giving us a free donut for the wait of the sandwich. We couldn't say, no! We tried out the maple bar! And wow!! That doughnut is so thick and chewy and pillowy soft. The bagel sandwich was great as well. We didn't even get a chance to take a photo. The bagel was soft and thick as well. Tomato, eggs, mayo. On point! And seemed fresh! I can't wait to try more. Customer service is friendly. Parking sucks tho! We parked down the street and walked
This place rules! Such a great mix of savory and sweet treats. Their donuts are massive and their pasties pack some weight, but both are so delicious. The flavor variety is impressive, it will be hard to pick out what you want because they all sound and look so dang tasty! Overall, a great bakery that everyone should check out. Can?t wait to try their bagels in the future! I did want to add a quick update. I am glad this place has been exploded with popularity.. they totally deserve it!! However, I was sli
Such a fun bakery! Amazing options, seriously delicious eats, and though their systems of service are still a little slow, I think they have a lot of potential and hey, they gave us a free donut and coffee for having to wait for a bit. We?ll be back for sure!
Here from the UP & used to Classic pasties with the meat. I had the Chicken Pot Pie Pasty & it was to die for! That?s not all! The donuts are AMAZING, but my favorite is the Gimme S?more donut! Savory, sweet & simply awesome. I highly recommend it!
Beautiful little tucked away gem. The pasties are beautiful on the outside, spectacular on the inside. Highly recommend the funeral potato or the Miner's breakfast pasty. You probably shouldn't eat the whole thing ... But it's impossible not to. Clean, small, well decorated and with very friendly staff.
I?m so disappointed to give a bad review because I really liked this place. I guess let?s just consider it as a heads up and a word of advice for the bakers. This is our second time coming and the first time it was great. This time around we ordered to-go an original glazed and decided to share so we cut it into fourths. Two out of the four parts had non-edible stuff in it. In one there was a piece of plastic in it (possibly frosting wrapper), and the other piece had auburn hair intertwined. We could not f
Yuck! $12 for a dry (ugly) not-tasty chorizo-and-egg pastie. SLC, you should get out more.
Now this is a good everything bagel! Soft and chewy Everything sprinkles on the top and bottom (very important) I give the bagel a solid 4 out 5 stars (it's hard to compete with NJ) and 5 stars for the whole shebang! ????
We went in for dessert after lunch one day. They had sold out of the raised donuts so we tried some of their cake donuts which were huge. We tried the peach, chocolate, and strawberry donuts. I want to go back to try the Cornish pasties.
Dough Miner did it again. Intense hunger led me back here for another round with their pasty. This time I went breakfast and holiday dinner pasty and it turned out about how I expected, great! Fillings in both were hearty, well seasoned. The holiday dinner pasty was like a warm hug I didn't know I needed. Thanks for another awesome lunch.
This is the first time I have tried this place. They just opened and man! I will definitely become one of their regulars. The Pastys I had were the classic and the vegetarian breakfast. The dough and flavors are so great. The classic tastes like a walking pot roast pot pie. The vegetarian breakfast so amazing as well. The dough is like a nice light fluffy crisp pie crust. The donuts are a cake donuts and are awesome. My favorites are the strawberry and cream and the gold digger. The donut dough has th
These Donuts are not Homer Simpson Donuts. They fit comfortably on a salad plate and are about the size of half head of cabbage to keep the comparison to salads. The taste however obliterates any salad . Think of a soft brioche with a winsome crumb filled with real pastry cream and slathered with chocolate (not quite a sugar glaze but not a ganache either). Trust me. You'll never crave a salad again. ??
I've never in my 35 years on this earth had a bagel sandwich so good before. Have you ever taken a bite of food, stopped, stare at it and just be grateful to be alive to eat it? I did, every time I took a bite. I got the grumpy miner, and BYOB (onions bagel, sausage, scramble egg, American cheese) both toasted. Absolute 10/10. Will definitely exercise after each meal since I have to try the entire menu now. Food this good should be a crime!
There is a shortage of perfect donuts in the world. The Dough Miner has mastered texture. These donuts are soft, not overly sweet while remaining fill of flavor. Some flavors have that spectacular outer crunch that makes them perfect for dipping in coffee. If that's not enough to give you dough-eyes, check out the pasties. If you live here, then you know there is nothing more Utah than funeral potatoes. If you're not from around here, they're a must have. What better way to enjoy them than in a beautiful g
Super yummy! ?? Had the Miner's breakfast pasties with cholua sauce and it was perfect! Dough was flavorful, not too thick, and the filling was delicious! Scallions weren't chopped up too thick - everything balanced out well. Had to get some to go for dinner and of course their donuts!
I love donuts. I?m not a snob, but some donuts are just better than others. These don?t compete in the same league as others. It?s like the 1999 St. Louis Rams Vs. a high school team - it?s not even fun to watch. If you could take all of your fondest memories, and pack them into a flavor, I?m pretty sure it would be the Dough Miner maple bar. Stop looking. Don?t question where to go for donuts, you?ve found it. I live 8 hours away and I?m trying to figure out how I can get these regularly.
I have passed this place for years in the evening when they were closed. I have a different schedule now and finally got to check them out and got a bagel tuna sandwich for lunch and it was delicious!! I will most definitely be back. The donuts looked mouth watering good and even their mini shop on the shelves to the left was very well curated, great gifts to grab if you are heading to a party and need a host thank you gift. I highly recommend this place!
Found this place with a quick Google search and discovered quite possibly the best donut shop in the valley! I can't think of anyone doing what these guys do, and the creativity behind some of the savory eats they have. Visit the friendly staff here! I bought 3 dozen for friends and co-workers and every single person asked who and where they came from!
Super cute hidden gem near the granary district. This place is very much known for their pasty?s, which are ok in my opinion. The classic pasty is filled with too large of potato chunks. I will say is if you go in, and a funeral potato is available, get the funeral potato pasty! You won?t be disappointed! It?s taken a couple of visits to finally snag one. I will say, I keep coming back because of their cherry donut. It is hands down one of the best fruit filled donuts I?ve ever had. The sweet and sour
Delicious breakfast. The pasties, donuts and sandwiches are excellent. The sandwiches take a little while to make but they are worth it. The pasties are ready as soon as you order.
Excellent pasties! I especially love the breakfast ones, kind of like a breakfast burrito but wrapped in flaky, delicious crust. A little pricy but very filling. Definitely try it with the HP sauce, this is one of our new favorite spots for a grab-n-go meal.
Amazing donuts with flavor that is exceptional. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious as well.
Straight from the UP to taste the delicious pasties, donuts, and bagels. I couldn?t decide which pasty to select so I sampled all the pasty?s available, don?t judge me. Each pasty was delicious! If I had to pick, the Autumn Risotto was my favorite. Did I mention how great the bagels are!? The bagels were perfectly soft and chewy! Let?s not even get started in the scrumptious donuts!
Wow? this place is amazing. We?re from Atlanta and haven?t found a good donut place here in town. These are legit! So good. You can taste the clean ingredients used. The staff is really friendly. You get your own plate for your donut haha. Definitely come try them. Can?t wait to come back.
Really good donuts ? they are HUGE! The maple ones had great flavor, but they are very large and shareable.
This was a really cool breakfast spot, we tried a bunch of different options. Everything we got was amazing. We got the funeral potato pasty and miner?s breakfast pasty. We also got a cinnamon roll with vanilla icing, it was all amazing. Would recommend!
The Dough Miner's brown butter donut is the best donut I have ever had. The flavor was great but the texture of their yeast donuts is out of this world! The bagels were good but I was disappointed that the cream cheese was spread so thin I couldn't even taste it. With how dense and thick the bagels are the cream cheese should be a half an inch thick, at the very least, in my humble opinion. But, if you're a person with a thing for texture, you'll be in heaven after eating one of these gigantic donuts! 4.5 s
Small boutique style. Unique doughnuts, personally did not like them but fun concept of you are hungry . Very oricey
This place used to be good but quality has gone off a cliff. Reading the reviews shows many people unfortunately share this experience. I also see the owner is responding to negative reviews in a comically infantile fashion, so be careful sharing your honest opinions or he may passive aggressively "review the reviewer...". Maybe try improving your product and service instead of badgering people that don't like your subpar product.
Big A** Donuts - these are massive. Sweet and Creative designs. They usually run out quick, so make sure to get a few as early as possible! Definitely worth the trip to downtown SLC.
Outstanding! Excellent breakfast sandwiches and pasties, but the Donuts are out of this world. Different, interesting flavors. Good coffee. Very friendly service. Very clean, some limited seating.
Worth waiting in 3rd west traffic. I normally avoid driving 3rd W like the plague because traffic is so awful. But the Dough Miner is the shining light at the end of the tunnel. They have any pastry for your appetite. You want a sweet treat? Their sticky buns are worth writing home about. You need something savory? Get you a bacon egg and cheese Kolache. Their coffee is a delicious local roast too. Parking is toward the ?gentlemen?s club?.
The pasties are absolutely delicious, I've tried them all. Just this afternoon I tried out the seasonal chicken pot pie and the Thanksgiving pasty and they were great. Their donuts are not my style, a little dry, so I wouldn't go out of my way for those. But the pasties are one of a kind in SLC.
Delighted to find a pasty shop in Salt Lake. Ordered the Funeral Potato. Yay! Vegetarian! Obviously, a Utahn has certain expectations when throwing the word 'funeral' around 'potato.' What I received was a delicious onion and potato pasty. There was no creamy, cheesy sauce in sight, no hints of a cultural hall funeral. That saddened me. Through my sadness, I still found appreciation for a unique savory breakfast item. Latte was lovely. My co-eaters enjoyed their chorizo and dough miner pasty.
We got pasties & coffee delivered and they're fantastic: easy to eat, filling, authentic, each one a tasty meal. The dough is particularly good, and the fillings are flavorful and well-seasoned. The "pappy's maple latte" is also very good. I recommend the brown gravy to accompany the pasties. A little bit of home & Michigan here in Utah.
If you know Pasties, you need to know this place. Delicious! Brought home for dinner and wanted another (couldn't really eat 2 but that is how good it was). Thinking this would be great grab and go on ski day. Breakfast pastie for the road, classic pastie for lunch. Will be there again for sure!
I ordered online and that was good. The doughnuts are terrible. Frosting was non existent and for a huge, dry cake donut that?s not good. I would have let it go but they shorted me my order. I tried to get a refund and they gave me an email. No response after several attempts. Went back. Email again?. Lame overpriced doughnuts. Lame customer service. Waaaaaay better doughnuts in SLC elsewhere.
I've liked the savory foods and one of the donuts, there's something about a lot of the donuts that I'm not into (like the big ones, the texture they have)
The donuts are nice and big but taste like straight garbage. The donut I purchased was stale and just gross! I tried to eat as much as I could, which was maybe 4 bites. Pass on their donuts. I only tried the donuts from here. Maybe something else on their menu taste better. This place won't be in business long, I guarantee it!
Absolutely loved this place. Good grub quick. Highly recommend this place.
This place has the most amazing pasties! We got a funeral potato, chorizo and egg, and a meat pie Pasty. All of them were so tasty! Our favorite was the cherizo and egg. The donuts were the size of four donuts in one and they were delicious too. The service is awesome too. They accidentally gave us the wrong ones and then gave us the right ones later that day. You are missing out if you don't come to this place.
Came in here for the first time on our anniversary breakfast and it did not disappoint! We ordered the miners breakfast and the funeral potato pasties. Both were fresh, warm and incredible! We will definitely be repeat customers.
Campfire Quiche is an amazing vegetarian option, donuts are also really good and huge portions! I really love this shop, super nice staff and unique cuisine for SLC! I will definitely be returning to try their bagels!
edit* The store owner reached out to me and made it right. I went back for a second try and it was cooked all the way here's a picture. and The store was pretty clean and all but the doughnuts are raw in the middle? Or am I tripping? Lol needles to say my breakfast was ruined
Do they get slammed and have long waits because of it? Yes, because they offer quality product. The team is always hustling to service their customers quickly and effectively. They communicate when to expect longer wait times, and offer faster options when you?re in a hurry. I wish they had a larger lobby area so it wouldn?t feel as hectic. I wonder if removing some of the retail stands and either adding additional seating or spacing the seating out more would be helpful. They could also benefit from havi
The coffee was really good, and the vegetarian pastie (say it like paahsty) was fantastic! The crust was flaky and flavorful and the filling was moist and delicious.
The kolaches are incredible. The dough texture is so soft, almost melt in your mouth, with flavorful filling. I think it's the best one I've ever eaten.
Went there had only 3 types of donuts all didn't look appetizing. But I heard this place was good. Had some brown sugar one which the person said was their best seller. They also gave me 50% off due to lack of stock. Even with that at the price of $1.95 The donut was 5/10 at best. It was just not good. Super dry and the brown butter coating wasn't very good. Don't think I'll ever go back. A smiths donut tastes better and cheaper.
Huge portions of doughnut. However there's nothing special about it. Too much dough and not enough flavor to the doughnut. Ended up throwing most of it! Cost of doughnut is 5 a piece.
The most underrated spot I?ve eaten at in a loooong time. Everything was cooked perfectly. Doughnuts were bursting with filling. Empanadas had everyone in my office asking where I got them from. I ordered doordash on a Saturday and had my food within 30 minutes! An absolute must try and will be ordering frequently.
I was going to give them a 3.5 but I rounded down to 3. So this place is busy, which makes me happy for the owner. But the crowd took away from my experience, as well as the influx of DoorDash orders being prioritized over the people in the shop. It felt claustrophobic in there while waiting for my food and my bagel took 16 minutes on top of my Chai Latte being warm, not hot like I like. The food, was fantastic. The glazed and the maple bars were a flat 5/5, perfect donuts all around. Full of flavor and e
Quite possibly the best pastry I?ve had in a long time.. The classic pastie was phenomenal. The maple bar has a lot of depth. Worth the money.
Incredible bagel and they offer vegan cream cheese. I haven't had this good of a bagel since Brooklyn. They also offer yummy vegan donuts.
Words cannot describe how Amazing Dough Miner is. A must go, doughnuts are amazing, bagel sandwich was perfect ??. And next time I must try some pasty! Busy Busy place. Use the kiosk when you come in to order, or grab a make your own. Worth any wait time. Thank you to all that was here today, you were all so busy but had a smile and were very genuine.
AFTER WAITING FOR 45MINS ONE OF OUR BAGELS WAS FROZEN INSIDE!! The customer service is horrible! Along with the line out the door, we waited at the cash register while the workers filled online orders for 10 minutes. I would say choose between online orders only or in person orders only. Or refine the ordering process. And the prices are outrageous! 3 dollars for a bagel and they wont put cream cheese on it for you! Thats bullshit! Go to The bagel project for better bagels, and Chubby baker for better donut
This place was fantastic! The portions are massive and the quality is high. To make it even better the owner is incredibly kind and personable.
I?m 45?I enjoy a good doughnut (who doesn?t?!?). Still, this is the best doughnut I?ve ever had. Ever.
Great little place doughnuts are good. The custome service gets my review a 2 stars because the cashier completely skipped me when I was next in line to help someone who seemed like a regular customer who cut the line, Pretty bad when I spent $20+ dollars and they only spent $5. So if you don't mind bad customer service it's a good spot.
I don?t give Google reviews very often but felt I had to give this place one? I drove from North Ogden to SLC for a teacher workshop last Friday and I stopped by Dough Miner to try the food there. I had seen the place on social media and really wanted to try the pasties and donuts with the brown butter glaze. I arrived at 1:15 and closing time was at 2:00. I was excited I made it before closing. I managed to pick up a half dozen donuts: lava, gold digger, and chocolate tantrum. I was so excited to bring the
Donuts are in a class of their own. I take everyone who visits from out of state here. Everything about The Dough Miner is amazing. Food, service, staff, and ownership. Took my Yooper grandmother here for the pasties. She grew up eating them and was very impressed! You gotta try this place and tell your friends about it!
The sad part was no sourdough products that day . My gluten free wife can eat the sourdough dough. No other gf. We were visiting from out of town. Will go back next time in SLC.
Staff is struggling to keep up with door dash and walk in orders, love that they?re receiving a ton of customers. BUT waiting 15 minutes for a chai latte that was barely warm was awful, by the time I received my food items it was completely cold. The grumpy miners breakfast bagel was also lukewarm to cold when handed over. We ordered the grumpy miners breakfast bagel, maple bar, ol glazed, drip coffee and the chai. Grumpy miners 3/5, Maple 5/5, Ol Glazed 4/5, Drip coffee 4/5, Chai Latte 1/5. $30+ out the do
