Fabulous donuts. Guy treat we get whenever we travel to South Hill, VA. Better get there early. Sometimes they have yesterday's donuts boxes a dozen for 1/2 price. A little pricey but definitely worth it. I recommend the maple bacon... it's loaded with bacon and tastes fabulous! Very small shop. No place to sit in and eat anymore. Hate they removed that.

The bacon maple donut was good but I got there at 8 and they didn?t have warm regular glazed donuts freshly done so that wasn?t so great. I was looking forward to that.

Customer service is great here. The sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich wasn't. The sausage tasted very bland. Wasn't expecting that. The bread wasn't great either. Definitely would stick to the donuts! Won't order breakfast sandwiches next time!

Oh my goodness!!! First, let me just say that their coffee alone is hands down the best!! Their breakfast sandwich? YUMMMMMM!!! Now to the best part...the DONUT!! So Soft! The chocolate is absolutely decadent! Hands down the best donut I have had (and we have had a lot). The staff? Incredibly friendly and at 5:30 am that is awesome!!! We will be coming back with friends!!

Went there at 10:30 on a Friday and they had 5 donuts, that?s why I go there twice a year

The donuts are the best I've ever had. Even if they weren't local, I'd travel for them. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee are great as well.

We are in town for the holiday and wanted something sweet. My family ventured to South Hill and got a dozen donuts and let me tell you, they were GREAT. The store was cute and smelled heavenly, though a place to eat these delights would add to the experience (and I get it, the cost). The quality of the donuts themselves was fantastic. We trued an assortment from maple bacon, to Bavarian and a few in between. The glazes were sweet and flavorful but they never overpowered the donut they rode on. The neatest

Oh my goodness!! The donuts are everything they're hyped up to be. We went for the first time today. The maple is ADDICTING. This will absolutely be a must anytime I'm in South Hill. Ladies were so sweet too. Great experience!!

Eaten here twice. Got ham, sausage, bacon, cheese, and egg. The first time thought it was the ham that made it so salty. It was the bacon! The buns seem like great value brand. It did not taste good either time. My kids say donuts are good, but sandwiches are cheaply made and not worth it anymore.

Best donut holes you ever had. Breakfast sandwiches are a perfect choice for going to the lake and usually get 4 dozen holes, 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and a soda. Most of the time when I get to the lake, I have 2 dozen holes left. Mmmm, mmmm, good.

The adults and kids in the family all love the donut shop. Our favorite spot for a quick "treat" for breakfast. The donut holes are the bomb, and the breakfast sandwiches are super basic but they're really good anyways and priced well. Love that they have a board in the shop full of business cards from all kinds of local businesses and love that they support the community in a small but very impactful way. Been getting donut holes and a chocolate milk from this place for nearly 20 years.

Delicious donuts and hot sandwiches. They're very clean and organized here and have 180? improved from 2 years ago. Inflation has taken a toll on the donut size drastically and the sandwiches need not go any higher for a while. Owner's gotta make money and prices gotta make sense. We all know everything is increasing everywhere but.. Overall still love it. It's a great place that is loved and appreciated with some of THE best donuts you can find.

They have a lot of delicious donut options! I recommend it if you like sweets. The only thing I didn?t like was the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich I had got. It had little to no flavor but I understand the focus is on the donuts so 5 stars for that!!

This was my second time visiting this establishment. I was very impressed with the delicious donuts on both visits but I ordered a bacon,egg and cheese sandwich and hash browns on this second visit . It was cold and tasteless. I was a bit disappointed but I still will give this place 5 stars for the donuts.

The service was fast ! I?ve heard jt can take a bit depending on the hour of the morning you get there but for me I went in got 3 drinks. I got two of the Oreo donuts which are my favorite ! One maple bacon one. A sausage egg and cheese sandwich . Think that was it and it was $14 . The service was friendly. No eating in there pick up only. The parking was easy. You can also get fountain drinks. Super worth stop by ! It looks clean and like and mom and pop shop. Love it. I?ve been once. Hope to stop by agai

As a "donut shop" for fresh made donuts, these donuts were very good. "Coffee" ... Not so much if you like it strong and to taste strong after cream is added like I do. If you prefer your coffee weak to medium, then you probably will like it. The inside of my breakfast sandwich...ham, egg & cheese was tasty. The bread they use could be upgraded to something better or give people a choice and charge a little extra for a bagel or multi grain option. Just my opinion.

I was in town on business and I was needing something sweet so I looked.on Google Maps and found this place. The donuts were amazing! I also heard their breakfast sandwiches are the best! Fast and friendly service!!

Normally this place is 5 stars but the last several times I've gotten the sausage egg & cheese it's been cold in the middle. Went today now that it has been management snd it was still very cold in the middle and my boyfriend has felt sick since. The donuts are amazing though.

Soo good. The breakfast sandwich was great lots of bacon and fresh. The donuts were so delicious soft and very moist. The donuts Stay fresh all day.

Local donut/breakfast/sandwich shop that offers great choices and very good donuts. No decaf, but they do have hot chocolate. Real treat compared to all the fast food places. Give it a try; you will be coming back again and again.

This is definitely one of my favorite places to get breakfast. They have excellent service and the food Is great too. The donuts are very good and I might even say the donut holes are addictive. This place is very affordable, just remember to visit early, they close around noon.

These are some of the best donuts I have ever had. They are soft and fresh, lots of options, and very generous with fillings. So far I haven't had one I dont like. The people inside are friendly and service is quick. The prices are really low - on par or cheaper than chains like Dunkin and Krispy Kreme and the donuts are better. If you're in South Hill you should give this place a try!

Best donuts and breakfast in town

This was my first time trying the donuts!! Amazing!!! My son is autistic, a very very picky eater. He never likes to eat sweets, but wow!! He can't get enough! Thank you!!

Best Donuts on the east coast. Try the donut holes and breakfast sandwiches. Take out only, but has a great park across the street.

Donuts taste great I haven't tried the food yet. I did kinda feel like I was in a Chinese hair store you know, (hurry up and buy!!) The first time I was service by a guy the second time a lady each time I said thank you have a nice day at the end of my service and didn't get a response back I find that kinda rude.

Wow is all I can say! We were traveling to South Boston, VA and wanted to bring something for our hostess. The Donut Shop was in South Hill, VA on the way. Those donuts were gone as soon as they were put out! I highly recommend stopping at The Donut Shop Yum!

How many times can a donut shop run out of donuts??? It seems to be a bad habit of this place. I have had one opportunity to have a donut, because they were not out, and it was delicious. Unfortunately, it isn't guarenteed here you can buy a donut. The egg sandwiches would be good if they were not on a hamburger buns, or cheaper. Better off going to Dunkin donuts!

Great doughnuts but limited selection (cinnamon, glazed, blueberry, Apple fritter). Coffe was served with WAY too much cream and sugar, but maybe that's a southern thing. Doughnuts are every bit as good as stated in other reviews. Worth the stop.

The previous owner doughnuts and pastries were better, not sure why they changed the recipe. In this pandemic no one had on mask or gloves behind the counter. They also allow a lot of customers in with out a mask. Very small space for people to not wear a mask.

This is a good place for a breakfast sandwich. They are not the same as with the previous owner but are still good. My wife really likes the doughnuts. They are made fresh daily. Worth the stop..

Fast service and good food, prices are mediocre. Donuts, cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Honestly, the location it's in is the only bad thing. Such a small and annoying parking lot for a place that gets as many people passing through as it does. Not enough of a deterrent for most people though!

Great stop, but it's a busy little place so it can be kinda overwhelming but great donuts they were soft and fresh with many flavors to choose from...my only thing is that the coffee tasted like dishwater.. but will be stopping again!

Amazing donuts. The flavor selection seems vast covering everything from standards like glazed and jelly filled to Maple/bacon topped and more. Priced fairly for what you're getting and quick service.

Awesome doughnuts! I am going to gain 20 pounds now that I live near the doughnut shop. Most of their doughnuts are some sort of glazed doughnut. It will take me a year to try all of the flavors but so far I love the regular glazed, blueberry glazed, chocolate glazed, raspberry filled glazed, and my absolute favorite is the glazed with coconut!!!! Yum!!!! They also gave really good egg sandwiches.

These donuts are DIFFERENT. Don't get me wrong: I'm a North Caroleen-yan, and I love my Krispy Kreme. (They say Elvis always shows up in Raleigh when they light the "Hot Donuts Now" sign.) S&B donuts are light and fluffy on the inside, with a slight crunch when you bite into them. The coffee is excellent, too. Employees not wearing masks or gloves! Also the lady at the cash register appeared unorganized and clueless. Just a suggestion to owner...pay when you order so you can just get your food and go. Donut and sandwich was good -but the rest of the experience was an unorganized time consuming mess!

The donuts were very good. The cappuccino tasted like it came from a gas station machine, not so good. No one wore a mask or gloves behind the counter.

I live in a different state now but, when I came back to South Hill for a visit... Ya darn tootin I went to the Donut Shop!!! My go to... And my son's since we BOTH were kids...?? bacon, egg n cheese. Donut holes!!! I think their food is made by angels...js????

The best donuts in Virginia in my opinion better rhan Dunkin Donuts. Krispy Kreme will give them a run for their money but those are franchise businesses and this is a Mom & Pops business
