The Donut Inn - Porters Neck

This was my first visit here. The donuts were tasty and fresh and I received good service.

Our family has been going to this location since it opened. Ever since the ownership changed there has been a noticeable change in quality. The icing literally flakes off the donuts. There are rarely any special donuts for the kids. If you don't get there before 10am on the weekend they will be sold out of almost every basic donut. In addition to that the actual restaurant is grungy inside and isn't well maintained like it use to be. Overall sad at what has happened to this spot.

Got some Boston Creams yesterday March 2nd 2025. Who ever made them did them perfectly. Dark creamy icing! Perfect! You seem to be out by 11:00 most days.

What a fun, friendly, and delicious place to visit!!! Coffee was delicious, the sandwich ?the bomb? was literally the bomb, the Baja beach burrito was huge and not overly spicy, and don?t get me started on the fresh donuts!! You have to go!!!

Normally love Donut Inn but today was crazy- went in at 2pm to buy my mom a treat and I was greeted with heavy metal music blaring and a worker in unprofessional attire. While I understand the selection is not the best before closing, the donut display was dirty and less than appealing. I will say the donut I did get was delicious.

Found a staple in my Breakfast sandwich I pray that was the only staple ! Bought Breakfast and coffee for coworkers and price was steep 46 for 3 sandwiches and 3 coffees and It can't be sanitary if there is staples near the food! You all better pray I dont have staples in my stomach or intestants!

I was a little disappointed that at 1030 in the morning they were out of chocolate frosted donuts. My husband and I got the sour cream and vanilla fluff and they weren't great. The sour cream donut was hard and flavorless. I think the thing that bothered us more though was the person helping us behind the counter. She was oddly rude. These donuts were not only beautiful but absolutely delicious. They tasted like they were made right before we got there. Also outstanding customer service that made my family?s day!

There's a Chick-fil-A across the street, go there if you want consistency and good food...... Why would you serve a toasted bagel with butter and cream cheese cold? The staff here is massively inconsistent, I guess you have to specify that you want a good meal....warm bagel + cold cream cheese= good bagel. I arrived to the donut shop 3 minutes before they were supposed to open up. I walked in, wanted to place a large order and was confronted by the owner saying that they open at 6:30 and every minute counts and to come back in 3 minutes..... Seriously..... They look open to me.

Overall, the service was great. Employees were extremely friendly the donuts. We're pretty good the Latte was just okay. But Would recommend anyone to give it a try.

Really sad that they were closed on a Sunday after my wife and I loaded up our 3 kids in the car. Both porters neck and wrightsville locations were closed due to ?gas leaks??? what are the odds both were closed for the same issue!? Probably won?t be giving my business to people who aren?t honest or reliable on being open. (Update 7/2/24?. we ended up eating here and was fantastic. Glad I stopped here! Kind of a hidden gem not directly situated on 17. Came in on my way home from the gym at 7:00 AM for an iced coffee. Ended up with a breakfast wrap that was amazing! Best I?ve had since moving to this area 6 years ago. Nice non-chain style coffee and sandwich shop. More like a mom and pop style, which I love. Great friendly atmosphere. The donuts looked great but I resisted?..this time. I Will be back!

I love this place!! Delicious bagel/egg/bacon sandwiches- we buy them often when on the run or wanting a special breakfast. Donuts are so good! Definitely better than Dunkin (a lot better). Local - Really want to like this place. The donuts and the breakfast sandwiches are some of the best you can get in town. Unfortunately the management is horrible. Food takes forever to come out, staff are not professional looking or acting, but most annoyingly they run completely out of donuts by 10am. Update. Was five star now one. Business side of the place is failing and the donuts are now sub grocery store quality. Made my donut orders for the week from Harris Teeter instead. My son and I were very excited to visit the new establishment. The staff was warm and friendly as we entered asking if we wanted to try their donuts and of course we obliged. However after ordering two breakfast sandwiches the host said it would be 20 to 25 minutes with practically no one else online. Very friendly fast service. I got a bacon and egg biscuit and a cappuccino. The capp was so hot I think maybe he scorched the milk. Tasted a little burnt but it was fine enough. Biscuit was pretty tasty but not fluffy. I forgot to order my egg scrambled so that was my bad. Bacon was not exceptional. Overall, good enough but I probably will keep a look out for another place for biscuits.

Absolutely love the donut inn!! The staff is amazing and the food is awesome. The blueberry donut is my definitely favorite for breakfast, and their lunch sandwiches are awesome! Everything is always tastes so fresh. Can't wait to eat there again!

I really wanted to like this place. I went 3 times in 2022. The donuts were pretty but too sweet, the staff seemed annoyed each time when they served me, and the entire set up made me feel over whelmed with the donuts in one section but, when I go to the register to pay, there is a whole separate menu with no donuts. I?m I did t feel like even reading it after spending 20 minutes asking questions about the donuts. It seems like a great spot but I?ve been disappointed every time to come here.

Orderd a large coffee and it came out small, that was no problem but when I asked to have the order fixed the girl proceeded to take a large cup fill it with ice and just pour my small coffee into the large cup, did not add one bit off extra coffee just a bunch of ice. Also did it with an attitude.

Glad that the owners of Donut Inn have taken a risk opening a new location in Porters Neck, it?s an asset to the community. Staff are always friendly and food quality is good. One point of constructive criticism would be to reassess the back of house processes as the wait for a breakfast sandwich is always longer than average for this sort of place. Today I was told it would be 25 minutes for a bagel sandwich. I think if efficiency can be increased Donut Inn will thrive in every market.

My co-worker and I decided to stop by for bagel sandwiches this morning. Cashier was sweet with a friendly greeting. Then said the cook isn?t here yet so we can?t make you any food. This is the second time we?ve been here, and it?s a second time being super disappointed. Not sure if we?ll return.

Locals here so given this place multiple tries. The first issue, the establishment was not busy at all. The waitress/cashier took our order in a very rushed manner. She didn?t ask us what we wanted she TOLD us, unsolicited. She was also rude and frankly, her attitude was annoyed we stopped in and disturbed her slow morning. We ordered 1 donut and 5 bagels. This was my first visit, of what I will say is going to be many.The atmosphere was amazing. I ordered a specialty snadwich "the Bomb". Whoever thought it was a good idea to mix sausage, bacon, ham, eggs, cream cheese, hot sauce and jalape?os on a sandwich, should be considered a genius. Great Food

Sour cream/old fashioned donuts are some of the best in town. All the donuts I have tried so far were very good. Both types, yeast and cake donuts are very good so you can't go wrong if you have a preference.

If you like a sick, appetite destroying transgender flag thrown in your face right before you order you might like this place otherwise stay far away. There's plenty of better places to eat.

Total lack of customer service skills. Staff is more concerned with chit chatting amongst each other than serving customers waiting in line. 5 people in the kitchen and only one of them was cooking as people are standing waiting for food. You shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for 2 bagels when you called the order in 15 min prior to arriving.

I came here and ordered a sausage egg and cheese bagel, they ended up forgetting the cheese which wasn?t a big deal, when I asked them to add it the kid at the counter took the sandwich and dropped it all over the counter, proceeded to pick it up and told me he?d bring me a new one out. About a minute later he brings me the exact same dropped bagel with a piece of cheese thrown on it. Original bagel was cut in half. The cheese was unmelted thrown ontop in one piece.

After being closed due to Covid exposure and loss of employees, they worked hard to stay open, delivering some of the best breakfast sandwiches and donuts in Wilmington. I still haven?t found a donut shop that can compete!

Got a large coffee, whole wheat bagel and a bagel with Taylor ham and cheese. $15.00 The bagel with Taylor ham had only 1 piece of the thinnest meat I?ve ever seen. I know times are tough, but cmon!

We?ve gone here several times and it?s good each time but my only complaint is that the wait times here are ridiculous. Waiting 25 minutes for one breakfast burrito when there?s no line isn?t something that should happen. I hope they can work out the wait times eventually, because this place isn?t the kind where you can run in and grab food easily.

As with most coffee places it is overpriced and the food was average. Nothing stood out and made me want to come back. Staff was more interested in their personal conversations and less attentive to the line of customers.
