first time coming to surf city and this was the first spot we chose to grab a quick bite. they were super busy since it was a saturday morning, and it?s a beach town. the staff were super friendly and they had lots of items on their menu. they are pricey but that?s something you kind of expect that for being on the beach. i got the ultimate fruit smoothie and it was great. their blueberry bagel was delicious as well.

First time in Topsail, and our first morning here we came to Daily Grind. My iced latte was delicious and the croissant sandwich was the chefs kiss, literally ???????? loved that we could sit inside outside as well. My husband got the cold brew (said it was delicious) and the sourdough bagel sandwich, also said it was really good. A GREAT compliment because we make sourdough bagels at home that are his favorite. This place is excellent. The workers are very friendly and prices are very reasonable. We got an iced latte with white chocolate and caramel and a snickers frapp?. Also the bacon egg and cheese croissant was wonderful!!

We come here pretty often on our annual vacation because they have great service and reliable coffee. It's not amazing coffee but its reliably good, we've never had a problem and they're very accommodating with a wide selection of choices. Will definitely remain our go-to coffee shop

We had an awesome experience at The Daily Grind in Topsail! Croissant is delicious and hot and the ice latte I got was made out of turtles and mocha. This establishment has plenty of flavors and options to satisfy your needs of clothing, snacks, food and drink. Fun little coffee shop. It's our go to for the whole family because they have something for everyone. Delicious coffee syrup blends and, hands down, the best frappes and iced lattes around. Staff is very friendly, and the live music talent is always on par for a fun evening. Highly recommend. It's our first stop on the island and always the last as we drive home every year with daily stops in between during our annual visits. This is a must. You won't be disappointed!

We came for iced coffees on our way out of town. Love the indoor and outdoor seating and setup. It?s a welcoming place which serves up donuts and ice cream. The iced coffee was good, didn?t try any of their beans since most of them were flavored coffees. Hope to come back next time we?re in town!

The chai was very sweet but tasted good! The cinnamon roll and bagel were also delicious! It was very busy, but the staff was quick and friendly. They stayed on top of cleaning, even with the rush of customers. Can't wait to go back and try the ice cream!

Ordered 3 cold brews with foam all looked like the picture. Cold brew was muddy and the foam lasted from the door to the car before melting. Also got a smoothie and all drinks tasted off.

We visited Topsail two years ago and loved the daily grind. The doughnuts were very good and so was the coffee. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed by our most recent trip there. It was extremely busy and getting crowded. This did not bother us as we were willing to wait. The drinks came out super quick, which we found odd considering how busy it was. A delightful place - more than just a coffee shop. All kinds of coffee and espresso, but also ice cream in multiple flavors, snacks, and the next door "Unwine" shop where alcohol is served. The patio is open, although shielded from the sun by a floating cover tarp. Light and airy. They have live music most of the time, and it is so nice to relax on their patio with coffee or such, and listen to the music. I highly recommend this place. We have been here twice, and will be back again soon!

While I only had the iced coffee here, it was so good. Place was bright and cheerful on the outside and inside. Staff was super nice. They offer a lot more than coffee including t-shirts, etc. I've attached a couple of photos of the menu. They also have some seating inside and a large deck outside. Definitely worth a visit while in Surf city!

I've been here a few times during our vacation stay in Surf City. Coffee and other drinks are great. The mini donuts were delicious and I plan on going back for more tomorrow morning. Very friendly service and they get drinks out super fast.

Absolutely loved this gem in surf city, I went back all 3 days I was there. The coffee was delicious, smoothies were great and let me tell you that their charcuterie board is the best I?ve ever had. I so wish this gem has more locations. Bonus the live artists on the patio was a wonderful experience too.

This place has great coffee (even decaf!). It?s nice, smooth and rich in flavor. The cinnamon roll was amazing! It had just enough spices and the glaze was the perfect amount!! I would recommend this place to stop to grab a cup of Joe and pastry!

Came to Surf City for a quick day trip with my boyfriend, we needed coffee so we stopped in! Twice! Ordered two bacon, egg & cheese bagels & a mango smoothie. Second time was on the way home, for dessert we got their mini carrot cake & an apple fritter pastry. For drinks we got a caramel & hazelnut iced coffee & a black coffee. So yum!! My husband and I stopped in for drinks and immediately the atmosphere was amazing! It felt cozy and at home. Lots of menu options, but I went with the turtle mocha iced latte and it was PERFECT! Reasonably priced and super friendly staff. The deck of the adjacent Unwine'd bar is adorable and a great place to enjoy your drink listening to live music. My daughter wanted a vanilla frap, so we stopped at the Daily Grind. She tried it, but it wasn?t what she was expecting. Left a 30% tip for a cup of coffee which is more than generous. The girl taking the order went over to the barista while I was still trying to pay to announce with complaint that she didn?t feel the tip amount was sufficient. The barista then loudly expressed her disapproval so I could hear is from the other side of the room. Neither one of them knew I was going to add more tip in cash. Stopped here three times while bicycling in the morning during our vacation. Staff is super nice. They are quick and knowledgeable. Drip coffee was pretty solid. Great outside deck to kick back on and enjoy the beach mornings. We stopped back in later in the week on our way to dinner and got beers --- bartenders were fun and knowledgeable and super nice. Top-notch ice cream, coffee that will put hair on your chest, and surprisingly enjoyable live music! I was a bit worried it wouldn't be kid-friendly, especially after dark, but that was not the case at all! We all had a fantastic time, and I'm already planning to go back again tonight.

Cute deck to sit at now with better chairs, tables, and umbrellas! Expect a line on weekend mornings to noon, but it goes by fast and the staff seems to be hustling. Main issue was my iced latte had all the syrup at the bottom (it can sometimes settle but should be mixed in when it?s first made?) so the first few sip were flavorless. The drink was so good but I didn?t get to enjoy my moneys worth. My cup was almost all ice, I watched the guy not have enough when he poured the matcha and just add more ice my cup was 3/4 full. I felt cheated.

The outside looks bland and nondescript, but inside is cheery and inviting. The house roast coffee ? is robust and they serve ground coffee bags to go as well. Their Chai tea is also outstanding. There's even a cozy seating nook inside for fun group chats!

The BEST coffee shop I've been too so far! I ordered the Rasbery Mocha iced coffee and it was delicious! We also got a bagel and t-shirt. Great service and atmosphere. We took our coffee and walked the beach at sunrise, definitely reccomend doing this!!

My family and I come here every time we come to Surf City. The donuts are always delicious, but you have to come early because they do sell out. The coffee is great, and there is a huge selection of regular AND sugar free flavors. There is also a great variety of items made by local artists. The deck is a great place to relax, and there is plenty of space for little kids to move around outside.

I absolutely love this place. I come here multiple times a week. The patio is dog friendly, which I love because I like to bring my pup with me. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, and they also have really good coffee with so many different flavors to choose from. The staff is extremely sweet, and most of them remember me by name. I also love their fresh, homemade donuts!

While on vacation to Topsail Island, my family and I went to Daily Grind every morning! We enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and the quick service. All of the baristas, cashiers, and the owner were very personable and kind. We even had to make sure to stop on our way out.

We love The Daily Grind! We have been customers for many years, back when they were in a much smaller place. We are thrilled that the business has grown and is doing so well. The coffee is always delicious, the atmosphere is delightful, and the service is top notch. The owners are very friendly and appreciative. I would love to see more gluten free options; though I also know keeping items safe from cross-contamination would be a concern. Still-- it is a wonderful coffee shop!

This place was absolutely amazing! We stopped in for some drinks and the guy behind the counter was super nice and wonderful about explaining some of the items they have. We got some creme Brule lattes and a hot creme Brule chai! Let me tell you that's probably one of the best chai teas I've ever had!

You're definitely going to have to wait, as they are usually busy in the morning! They do not have as many milk substitute options (like oat milk) as other local coffee shops. The drinks were good! The smoothies have protein powder, but seemed excessively expensive at almost $9. The great thing about this place is that they open earlier than other coffee shops on the island! Everytime we go in the Daily Grind we are met with a smile. The service is very fast and the food and drinks are very good. The other thing I appreciate is if something is not right with an order if you let them know they are happy to fix it. They have a good group of hardworking young people there and we really enjoy stopping by in the morning and getting an iced coffee and snack! It is very clean too which we much appreciate. Go enjoy.

Coffee and oj weren't very good. The deck was pleasant. It was hard to navigate the indoor space through the overwhelming rows of T-shirts for sale, especially with only one of the doors being open to the outside, leaving people no way to exit and enter from the deck without walking through the lines of people repeatedly.

We went to get a coffee and to try the breakfast sandwiches and ended up going back EVERY morning! The sandwiches were so tasty and pretty big, I could never quite finish mine (maybe if I tried but then I?d have been too full to go play in the beach). The pastries and donuts were also great. Great little place for Coffee, Ice Cream, doughnuts, and smoothies. I tried the vanilla protein smoothie and it was pretty good. I would recommend to shy away from the pineapple mango smoothie, it was mediocre, and my son didn?t bother to finish. Staff was friendly and attentive. I have heard the doughnuts were very good but we didn?t try them yet. Maybe one morning we will get a chance too.
