Sweet Things Donuts and Grill

The woman at the counter, I think her name was Amy. She made our experience worth while. The food was good but her service and kindness is what we will come back for! Next time we are in New Orleans, we will definitely be stopping in to visit our new friend Amy.

The lady who "cooked" my family's 15 stale takeout mini burgers did not put any toppings on them. I paid cash for one order and card for the other. She did not give me a receipt for the cash order. When asked to refund my money over the phone she was not sweet and grilled me like a liar. By default the items get toppings.

Customer service was comforting! The lady behind the counter was taking orders and cooking. Even when in the back cooking I watched her peak her head from the back to greet every single customer. She was so friendly even asked my daughter and I to come back and hang out again. She was super sweet and such a great employee. We will definitely be back! P.S. get the claw machine working pleeeeeaaasssee??

Basic donut shop with good Servicr. Been stopping here for years after late night outings, 2-3am. Always had a cup of coffee ready when I set down and a sandwich being made. Late night Amy knew what I ordered, and most nights cooked it herself. Always good looking out, and the only folks in there that late were her customers. Now that she's back, stop in there after a night of drinking, let her help get you right.

Nice little spot off the freeway., food was good and tasty. Kids loved the egg sandwich. Doughnuts were bigger than what I?m used to. Service was excellent.

The server here is wonderful! She does her job with a smile and goes above and beyond to make sure her customers needs are met. The food is always on point with no complaints.

Amy was amazing she made sure that my wife and I had everything we needed that day we were dealing with stress and Amy made us feel wanted we WILL BE RETURNING BECAUSE OF HER! If y?all go make sure Amy?s working you won?t regret it!

There is just so many better places for donuts the apple fritters are pretty great tho

DATE OF VISIT: 6/22/24. Was in the city and craved a late night treat. Came in and the place has obviously been around for a few years, given the wear and tear to the bar counter. The donuts came out fresh and tasty, but we were served milk that had been out of date for 21 days. We didn't know until we got back to the hotel and drank the milk. It was soured and bitter. Went there to buy 4 dozen donuts for an event at my daughter?s school. No one was at the counter. 5 or 6 customers were sitting there. Waited 15 minutes no one ever came to the counter. Went somewhere else.

First try here at 10:30am on a Tuesday. It's a small diner, no tables, only a counter. Sat on the end, by the kitchen door, and it took 10-15 minutes before a server came and asked if I was being helped. THE FOOD: I ordered jalapeno poppers, and a cheeseburger combo. The building itself needs some repair. The food is really good for a late night stop. Clean restroom. The young lady that runs the counter at night Amy is a sweetheart and very attentive. She made my burger and after a long night of driving Lyft it most definitely hit the spot. Would give 5 stars if the building itself was fixed it seems like almost everytime I go in there something else broken.

We got the lil sliders burgers which were dry and tasted horrible..I dont know what happened to this place ..that was the nastiest food iv eaten in a long time ..donuts weren't too bad but don't do the microwaved gross sliders ..they were old...I wd not recommend this place...

The lady that works late at night is very friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond for me at 3 am when she had to be tired and ready to go, I used to work nights and slow nights like that last 4ever . But nevertheless she made sure to take care of me and was very pleasant and did her job well. So happy there are sweet people like that in this mean cruel world.

Terrible customer service. I came in for a cup of coffee and I wasn't even acknowledged. Every in the diner seem to have already been served. The employee counter saw me and she completely ignored me and hid on the other side of the wall. Some guy went behind the counter to fix a soda and then set down next to me and I asked do you think she saw me and he said she's busy. All I wanted was a small coffee and she couldn't be bothered.

This place has a better fly habitat where they keep the donuts than the audubon insectarium fly exhibit. I mean the donuts in there are so old I think if you had a timelapse you could actually see the entire life cycle of a fly from birth to death. Not only that, the donuts cost more than actual good donuts from dorinaqs or dunkin. I'm not sure how this place has a 4.0 rating. The employee at the counter continued her conversation with another customer and didn't acknowledge me when I walked in - even after I said good morning. She was rather rude and acted like I was interrupting her. She took my card and mouthed to the man she was speaking to "12 o'clock...12 o'clock". The place was slammed and there was one person working. I think her name was Courtney. She was incredible. Had everyone's food out super quick. She knew how to multitask. Everything was delicious and her service was great. Will return again and again. I've been to places like a Waffle House with 8 people working with service nowhere near this great. Thank you!

This is absolutely the only place I will eat donuts and my whole household is the same way my mother's household and her family are the same way as well thanks guys for great service and the absolute best donuts in town and all around without a doubt.... Was there before 8AM and they lady behind the counter appears grumpy. Last time I was there to get donuts holes, they left me waiting at the counter to clean a space. Today, the same lady had her "grumpy' face on and cleaned a counter space before helping me. Then informed me they were out of donut holes this morning. As good as the donuts may be, I cannot enjoy something they do not have available. I will not be coming back.

This is a donut gem! They have wonderful Apple Fritters and great donuts. Always fresh and flavorful. Have a great selection! One of those hidden treasures that locals keep quiet! If you're in the area, I suggest you give them a try. You'll return...lol.

Some of the people have bad attitude while working there just because they are working by themselves. They take frustrations out on the customers. You try to ask them for something and they get attitude. Bad customer service. You choose to work there so don't get ugly to us if we're coming to eat there. Take it up with your boss.

The best donuts in town are across the street at Dorignac's. BUT, these at Sweet Things are practically just as good and cheaper. They don't skimp on filling either. Try the Boston Creams

The coffee is great! The breakfast and sweets are wonderful. Miss Joycelyn is fantastic. She makes me feel like I'm at home. She really is the reason to go there for a quick cup of coffee.

Though the donuts were very good, there was only one person working when we visited, so the selection was not that good. The store itself was not as comfortable as I'm used to from other donut shops.

Nasty place bugs were on the donuts....I did not notice at first. I asked the lady at the front about the Other Donut's in the back, she replied and said she is new and don't know. VERY DISAPPOINTED, I had already paid for the donuts, so I just threw them away. I think the health board needs to come inspect. I should have asked for my 2.00 back. Never eating from here again

Calm & quiet breakfast at the bar experience during the mid morning weekday. Good coffee, good biscuits & basic breakfast fare. No frills and no complications. Will be coming back for sure.

I love these people from the first time I went in ! They have great food and 1/2 off the donuts after A certain time at night . And the food is fast cheap And they definitely definitely deserve all of their tips.

This place has been around forever. Recently renovated. Excellent selection of Do-nuts, and they carry Cake Do-nuts, a New Orleans specialty. Burgers and short orders all good.

Waited 10 minutes for someone to serve us. Waitress was playing with her phone in the back and would not come over to take out orders, so we left.

I didn't enjoy ANYTHING about my experience tonight. They said my phone order would be ready in 25 min. I picked it up around that time(8:40p) The cheese on my fries was spoiled & the burgers taste as if they had been done WAY passed my order time. I will NEVER eat there again.

There is only one other place that comes close to this place and it's not a major chain either. I waited for my glazed donuts to come out of the fryer...that's how fresh the donuts were. Customer service is amazing! Definitely going back

Just a few donut options, the yeast are good even when they've been sitting but the cakes are a little mealy like a donette. Still amazing prices though.

The "white Castle" burgers were more bread and pickles then patty. Dounuts are ok but way too large. DO NOT order on Uber eats. It will show up frozen.

The food menu was a joke but ordered anyway hoping to be surprised by the mom n pop looking place but it wasnt even close to a good decent meal. They really need to clean the place up also looking at dust everywhere just makes me wonder how the kitchen looks.

The service here is the worst..... they tried to give me $11 in quarters..... this man made me move just so he can push a chair under the table. The people were super unprofessional. The service Def overshadowed the great beignets that are here....smh

I dont remember the ladies name i think it started with an m but she was extremely rude and mentally off when she serviced me. I would have scored lower but the business is not at fault for her attitude.

This place is doing much better, they cleaned up the place, and great service since when I last reviewed it. Only problem is they say they're 24/7 but sometimes they close without notice.
