Surfin' Donuts Coffee House

Been coming here often because I really like their breakfast croissants. However they are pretty pricey for a doughnut shop and never the less I paid 15 dollars for my croissant, maple bar and chocolate doughnut only for my maple bar to have a really long hair in it.. It really grossed me out and I will not be back until they fix their hygiene issues.

An experience of the rarest kind! Somehow, we ended up driving around looking for a place to have breakfast and this quaint little place just happened to catch our eye. Right on the main drag in San Clemente California, Surfin Donuts Coffee shop was the perfect blend of good solid food and a Southern CA experience! This is a nice little donut shop close to San Clemente beach and near by hotels. They have light fluffy donuts and not overly sweet like some places. Their maple bars are delicious. We also got bacon egg cheese croissant for breakfast. They were perfect and filling. I would come back again when staying in the area.

Best Donut spot in the area! I always get the iced chai with an espresso shot and a tiger knot. The ladies behind the counter are always kind and accommodating. Truly a quality family business.

Thr best donuts in town . Hands down! However parking is atrocious. There have been several times when we have just turned around and driven off due to the parking. There is a restaurant next door that seems to have had their customers spull over into the coffee / donut shops area and taken thr majority of the spaces. Weekdays nor a problem . Weekends just stay clear unless you dont mund being disappointed. Great Oj. Tasty Croissant sandwiches. Nice family!

I?m honestly disappointed with these chocolate iced donuts. They should be glazed first, then iced ? it?s donut 101. How much are you really saving by skipping that step? Without the glaze, they?re dry and lacking that perfect bite. Do better ? I come for a sugar fix, not a letdown.

There?s something about the donut places in Southern California. The hole-in-the wall, unassuming vibe is always a good indicator that you?re in for a solid donut. It?s hard to give this place only 4 stars out of 5. It?s hugely popular which says a lot with all the other doughnut choices in town. The doughnuts are SO GOOD. And the breakfast sandwich menu is simple but delicious. It seems to be family owned abs operated which I love, too. Today we tried a dozen old fashioned doughnuts: glazed, maple & chocolate. They were melt in your mouth good. We also had the ham & cheese croissants, one with jalape?o and one without. YUMMY! My only gripe is that parking is tricky.

One of the attorneys in my office brought in donuts from Surfin Donuts. Probably one of the best apple fritters I've ever had.

OMG! I am sad that I don't live close by to this classic donut shop. After a terrible stay at a nearby "hotel" that advertised a continental breakfast and didn't have anything, not even coffee. ?? The best donuts. Period. Light, fluffy, sweet and not heavy on the tongue or in the stomach. If I lived in the area I woukd come here often. I live an hour away. Every single time I roll through the city, I make an extra stop off the highway and get the cinnamon roll, a milk and an orange juice. Then I hop back on the highway and indulge in my sweet delights. What happened? This used to be the place to go. We stopped by here this morning to get some tasty treats. Didn?t happen. The donuts were so old the frosting was hard. The donut holes were so stale I threw them away. The plain cake left a coating in my husband?s mouth. That?s the last time we stop there. It?s sad, but Winchel?s is a better place to go. Local donut spot. Terrific donuts. Sat. Sun go early. Always a line to purchase. Considering the products it's worth the wait. Not cheaply priced, but as we all know " you get what you paid for". Family business. Go for it!

My grandson wanted glazed donuts for his ninth birthday instead of a homemade from scratch cake I usually bake. The donuts were a hit with not only the kids, but the adults as well. Fresh, big, and delicious and I don?t even like sweets.Everyone at the party wanted to know where the donuts came from? The counter girl was friendly and nice. She boxed up the three dozen donuts beautifully and with care! I highly recommend Surfin? Donuts!

Great selection and quite the variety. This is always my go-to when I get a Guy Day on my scoot. Love the blueberry donuts and the cronuts (donuts made with croissant dough!) A note of caution - a coupla donuts and a cup o' joe will run you a little more than what you might expect from the Cambodian Donut Mafia shops might charge. Worth it!

Went there once they didn't seem like they wanted my money just cuz they told me to park someone where else because with an attitude. I have traveled through different states looking for my favorite donuts. The pistachio at Danny?s Donuts in Vista is close but my favorite go to donut-the ?glazed cinnamon twist? at Surfin Donuts beats them all. Driving between San Diego and Orange County in the morning we can?t help but stop by Surfin Donuts. My wife loves the breakfast croissant and various donuts. A variety of warm tasty serve yourself coffees are always available Simply the best!

Their maple donut was amazing, but the breakfast sandwich was not. Edit: down to 2/4 because I have had an upset stomach all day.

Best donut place ever once a year when I took my family to Disneyland we would stop to get our favorite donuts and this was back in 1995 and till this date the donuts are the best we drive from Chula vista I drove to this place just for the donuts don't mind the hour drive thanks for your great best donuts.

Place had a nice assortment of donuts and pastries. The staff was friendly and the coffee and egg sandwich was good. The only thing it was over $9 for a couple of eggs on a croissant. I know eggs are up in price but not that much.

I have been going here for as long as I've been living in San Clemente. The family that works here has poured their lives into this place, and have managed to keep up a consistently great experience year after year. The donuts are wonderful, the croissants are flaky and delicious, the coffee fresh, and the service is always a delight. They are devoted people who deserve as much business and high-fives as we can afford to give. Go there!!

We stopped in on our way back to Tucson. Donuts are amazing. We got an assortment and each one was delicious. The apple fritter was crunchy and not too thick. The Boston cream was filled with cream, not like you get at other places where they ration their fillings. If we are ever in the area again we will stop again.

Service was just ok, but the donuts are absolutely incredible. Like many socal-ians, I don't mess around when it comes to donuts. We've got very high donut standards and they've got to be from the little mom and pop shops that all around here. And I've been to many, many different shops. These donuts here are among the best I've ever had. Melt in your mouth goodness. If I had to imagine the perfect tasting donut, these would be it. Wow. I mean oh my god..... Service is great you don't feel like your being rushed, friendly and inviting also smells amazing obviously lol, going around 03 to 04 in the morning I found be great times to get breakfast sandwiches right out the oven and no long lines in the morning, but even if there is a line it moves quick.

It is an excellent donut and coffee shop. They open at 4AM but close early, around 2PM. We like to stop here before head out to the San Clemente Outlet. It is a small place but they baked fresh donut through out the day, coffee selection is amazing too. They serve Diedrich coffee, a local coffee roaster (Irvine based). A hot dark coffee and fresh donut are hard to beat on a raining day.

Coming from San Diego I frequent this exit for my gas needs because I can get in and out extremely quickly, but when the pumps are slow as snails I walk over here and grab some breakfast and when I'm in a good mood I'll get some for my co-workers. Staff is friendly and the blueberry fritter (only made on Sundays) is fantastic! We ended up getting several doughnuts and doughnut holes. There is a wonderful outdoor set of benches with some nice trees.

Swing by after a beach session for a quick snack and a coffee. They have plenty of parking (private) and they have tables out front if you want to eat it there. They have a variety of coffees to choose from, all you have to do is buy a cup and serve yourself.

Awesome south county donut shop. You'll see some pretty creative delicacies here. Always a crowd here in the morning. This is my go-to when I'm southbound on I-5. Easy off/Easy on the freeway. This is definitely not your typical Southern California Cambodian Donut Mafia shop. Just a little spendy but worth it!

My 1st job .... Was frying ?? with my brother... At a ?? shop... Yrs and yrs ago... THESE ARE THE MOST FUKNG AMAZING ?? IVE EVER HAD ! Cake ?? with chocolate frosting.... Not as good as some of the other locations. Asked to get just eggs and bacon no croissant. They wouldn't make it. Obviously it's all premade. Donuts are good. They place was a little dumpy, dirty, messy. Wouldn't come back to this location.

my all time favorite donut place right here. Surfin Donuts is the best donut shop ever, anywhere. Just visit and try the Tiger Tail donut. I would advise going as early as possible as they do sell out and close shop early.

I love Surfing Donuts, located almost in the middle of San Diego and Los Angeles. Family run, doughnuts are great and the croissants will do in a pinch. Pro tip: you can use the bathroom outside the cafe across the parking lot.

Your typical mom and pop Chinese donut shop more expensive and lower grade pastries than average run of the mill donut shop. I really feel sorry for those people that give this place 5 stars and Call it amazing these poor people don?t know what a donut or a pastry should really taste like

We walked from Nomads in San Clemente to Surfin' Donuts. Totally worth it! The bear claws are filled with apples and there's fresh-squeezed orange juice. Awesome place!

I finally got to visit this donut shop and found a Small Selection that was Overpriced. They do not have Mayonnaise or Salt and Pepper for croissant breakfast sandwiches. Cheap with napkins too. Coffee was okay?

Big tall white with mask on his chin was not asked to comply with public health signage. A young Asian-American female at register told me: 1. She did not see that his face was uncovered; but then, 2. She is unable to enforce her signage requiring masks. My feeling is she might?ve felt unsupported or disempowered to remind the man to pull up his mask. I told her she is a woman of power and to claim her empowerment, but these were just words. We must all have each other?s backs. Your neighbors support you! ?
