StowNut Donut & Diner

My first visit since they reopened. I sat at the counter and could see the donuts were almost gone. I ordered the donuts to go before even looking at the menu. I tried the kitchen sink which was a biscuit over hash browns and eggs covered with sausage gravy. It was really good. My previous visit I had the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries and a side of bacon. The bacon was great and came out piping hot. The rest wasn't hot and it was just okay. The potatoes were cut too big for my liking. T

My daughter and I went here for breakfast. We split the club breakfast sandwich and a doughnut. The food was great. The servers were so pleasant and so kind. They gave my daughter a sticker and some paper with crayons and made her feel very special. I would absolutely go back!

I walked in unsure of whether it was the seat yourself and stood by the door for at least 3 minutes and no one greeted me, at that time, I just left. A small diner, but not uncomfortably so. Quaint and filled with the type of Americana themed decor typical of the diner scene in this area. We ordered ahead and when we got there we were told it hadn't been sent back to the kitchen yet so we had to wait. However, they reimbursed us and were so friendly throughout the stay that the wait was pleasant and didn't feel inconvenient at all. Ultimately I must recommend them!

We love to support our local businesses and have always loved to visit this place. Our recent visit was sub-par to say the least. Dunkin, move over. The service here is excellent, and the staff is friendly and greets you as you come in, making it a welcoming atmosphere. I love the breakfast Cafe setup, so cozy! The Donuts are UNMATCHED. SO GOOD, that after the first bite, I had to immediately pull over to enjoy it properly. I'll drive the 35 minutes any day of the week. Worth every minute. Pricing is also great! Better prices than any donut shop around for the size of the donuts. Not to mention they are FRESH and have weight to them.

A bit of a mixed review here. We'd heard good things about this place so we dropped in on a Saturday morning to check it out. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The service was excellent from the hostess to the server and meal runners. We wanted for nothing. The food, however, was only OK. My steak omelette was - meh. Exceptionally kind service. Donuts were fresh with homemade frosting that wasn?t too sweet. Chicken salad also had homemade ranch. Omelet and crispy bacon were good. Cute retro decor, definitely recommend trying.

As a local, we've eaten here several times. My husband, two children and myself came in today, a few days into the grand re-opening. Our server was wonderful, however there was a mistake with our order and my husband and son's meals were the wrong thing, so they had to re-make their orders and ending up getting their food after me and my daughter were already finished. This place has been around for a while, so nostalgia definitely helped it out! The food here has always been just above average, but what hurts them here is the prices! The portions were inconsistent from one dish to the next; my eldest kid got a waffle with blueberries, chocolate chips, and bananas... an $8 plate made ridiculous when you add on $1.75 per "topping," but the waffle was plate sized at least! Whenever I'm in the Stow area, I always try to make an effort to stop at Stownut. It's a great diner with some great food and, of course, doughnuts! The service is great, and you can tell that the folks who run this place have a love and passion for what they do.

We tried this place after living in the area for almost 2 years. We drive by everyday and have been told by many locals how great it is. We will not be returning. We came into town to visit family and asked the best local place to get doughnuts was, this was the suggestion and it lived up to the billing. We came early on a Sunday morning and the selection was abundant. We got a dozen to share and everyone commented on how soft and fresh they were. I personally had a creme filled white frosted long john and it was awesome. We will definitely come back here next time we are in town.

Wife and I have been enjoying this place for some years now. It seems to be, since changing hands, food quality is not the same. The home fries are no longer fried on the flat top. They are cutting potatoes up into too large of chunks and deep frying them. These large chunks of potatoes are a nice golden brown, but not cooking through completely. My wife and I are frequent fliers. The wait staff is always amazing. The atmosphere is very retro. It is a museum of memorabilia of memories of an era long gone by. The food is great. Old school classic diner with AMAZING donuts if you can get in early enough to snag one. Breakfast is equally good and service is spot-on. Would highly recommend Stownut Donut and Diner for either breakfast or lunch. The only downside is it is small and a little cramped. Other than that the food is so good and the staff are always friendly. I usually go for breakfast and Heather is always there. She is always the friendliest and really nice. Not to mention you never have to worry about your coffee cup being empty. Highly recommend.

Family and I tried this diner a little over a year ago when we moved to stow we have been going ever since. Food has been great every time. Service is always great. I worked and managed a restaurant for 10+ years it is not easy to keep everyone happy I wouldn't pay any of the negative reviews any attention they do a great job here and have forever earned our business! This little 1950's style dinner has my heart! They serve amazing homemade donuts in the most creative flavors. I had their garden omlett with smokes Gouda cheese and homefries. And, let me tell you, you aren't going to find a better breakfast in all of Stow-Kent.

I used to love this place, then I heard the owner yelling at his employees and treat a customer horribly, so I stopped going. I heard they retired and sold the business, gave it a try again, food came out cold ( I believe this was due to our server as we saw it sitting waiting to be picked up by server) and the service was spotty at best. This is a great little doughnut place that also serves a good breakfast, and a decent lunch menu. The servers there are all very nice, however service can be slow when it is busy, as their kitchen is quite small, but if your patient you'll still really enjoy this place. They have a nice outside eating area, as well as as small indoor dining room.

Stownut is one of my favorite places to get a quick and big breakfast for a great price. It's like eating at home! There donuts a great too. Something that caught me off guard was their filled donuts have a frosting like filling in them instead of a typical donut filling, this makes them especially sweet. This was perfect for me but my wife couldn't eat more than two bites.

We came across this location while researching breakfast spots and planned to stop before hitting the road. I usually don't try to complain but I was ordering takeout and they made a huge fuss about the menu item being priced differently then what they actually charge; saying how it was actually more then what they had stated then I get home to eat and they didn't even give me the toppings they made a fuss about and charged me 3 dollars more than it was stated ! My meal costed me 17$ and it was so small and missing the things they had to charge more for on top of the upcharge for the menu being wrong.

I personally love the feel of this place it has a wonderful atmosphere. I will say however do not get the glazed donuts they taste like plastic ?? I?m assuming it?s because of the glaze in a bag they must use for them? I have loved the other pastries and donuts from here not sure why the glaze are the only ones like this. I was beyond impressed with the quality of their donuts. They came large, tasty, and at a price that easily made it worth ignoring nearby major chains.
