Customer Reviews

The Donut hole opens at 5:30am on weekdays which is really convient. They use high quality ingredients compared to some of the other donut stores I've frequented so the texture and quality of the donuts are much better than other donut stores. They also have the rare "French Cruller" that uses special flour to make. And they offer bacon donuts!! and Ham and cheese Jalapino crossaints. Owner is always up beat and friendly. Coffee is inexpensive.

It is a clean place, they are attentive, they are fast, the donuts have a very good flavor, they are at an affordable price and they are always fresh, I can also rent a pot of coffee to take away, something that some They don't do

Read some reviews and hesitated coming to Steph?s Donut Hole. The selection and care in what she sells is there. Her vibe is polite and efficient not sweet like a donut. Cash only ?? *the donuts are amazing! That glazed donut is a 5 out of 5

I have visited this shop three times. Definitely a money laundering cash only business. Each time I come the employees looked surprised and annoyed that a customer has entered. Theres no menu. Terrible service. The staff look miserable and scared. The donuts are normal. Good price. Someone rescue these people please. I can't do it cause I love donuts.

I?m surprised this place is still open. So incredible rude each time. Don?t take atm cards, Apple Pay, only cash or Zelle?. And almost bothered that you would ask Otherwise. Donuts aren?t very good either

We were driving through from San Diego to Phoenix and found this donut shop. Very easy to get to and great customer service with lots of donuts to choose from! The donuts were delicious!

I was driving from San Diego to Az one rainy night. A little bit outside of San Diego my low tire pressure alert started flashing on my dash. I started to panic and took the very next exit so I could check my tire. It was dark out and most things around me looked closed. I pulled into a little strip mall that had lights on so that I could examine my tire. It was a total false alarm. My tire was fine. After my panic subsided I saw the welcoming glow coming from Steph's Donut Hole. It was after 8pm I figured

Don't come here.. the Mexican guy that takes your order is rude and has an unpleasant attitude. He makes you feel rushed you can't even look at the options without him staring you down wanting you to hurry. Plus this places doughnut are absolutely trash. Go to Mary's doughnuts in santee I highly recommend! DONT GO HERE, TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

Got cruellers and cream filled donut holes on Tuesday at 12:30. Hard, and tasted like they were days old. Not good like it used to be.

As you can see in the photo, the family emptied half the box in the first 10 minutes! Steph's Donut Hole is an awesome place for fresh donuts to start your morning on a happy note. They don't take credit cards so bring real money, but their delicious delicacies are worth every penny! Highly recommended...

Great donuts, mom and I were shopping at Albertsons and I suggested stephs donut hole...let's go get some donuts with our afternoon coffee...yummy ??...the owners love alpine and it shows...great friendly service with a smile...moms apple friter didn't make it home ??...thanks guys we will be back soon!

Showed up and was greeted immediately, got the bacon donut and a Bavarian cream donut. Everything came out great. Cash only.

The best donuts around San Diego by far. Been going there since JD opened his shop in the 90?s and they?ve never changed the quality of their donuts. Great selection including strudels which you can?t find at too many places.

Owner on site and makes consistently fresh donuts. Reasonable prices. Apple fritter is excellent.

Fresh good tasting baked goods. A delicious cream filled doughnut costs $1.15. An spline staple that's been here for years

Absolutely amazing donuts and at a very reasonable price!! Highly recommend going for your donut fix!

Great doughnuts. We stop in on our travels to AZ off I-8. Never disappointed.

Amazing customer service and soft yummy donuts!

Employees (Asian angry man) who work there are not so friendly. Cash ONLY and they conveniently have an ATM inside. I'm sure they own that. Donuts are "ok" same donuts you find anywhere else. Not sure if they are fresh or not but I hope they are. They have classic flavors and a few unique ones. I probably would go again over grocery store donuts.

The donuts here are the real deal, particularly enjoy the buttermilk chocolate. My primo loves the apple fritter. Owners are super cool Alpine staple

This is (by far) the best donut shop I have ever been to! I travel around the country and love to try donuts at local shops in cities I visit. None have ever compared to Steph's. The creme puffs are my favorite, and I have made the 25 minute drive from my house many times to have them. If you are traveling, be sure to stop by and grab some super duper affordable snacks that you will not find anywhere else. Be careful, as they can become very addictive. ?? Enjoy!

Their maple bar melts in my mouth, so tasty, soft but not so sweet. Their unique recipe for each of their donuts is Amazing. There is no way, we can't stop in our way to San Diego. My family and I are always looking forward to have them. If one, stops earlier in the morning, you will see the small group of people from the community drinking coffee and chatting. Everyone have their own cup hanging from the cup coffee holder.

The gentleman who served my disabled husband was gracious and kindly carried the hot coffee to our car. Making sure we didn't spill. So very.thoughtful!

Purchased 3 dozen pastries picked up at 7am expecting fresh and warm for trip. The donuts texture appeared about 2 days old, the cinnamon rolls had little cinnamon, no raisins or nuts were large flattish things none would eat and the bear claws did not look like any I had ever seen and were filled with an apple sauce that was so sweet it seemed to have come from a can. Not like what I picked up a couple of years back when traveling through.

The donut holes are really fresh and very cheap. The croissant sandwiches are great. The owner felt a little distant however, as if he didn't care either way for our patronage. Maybe that's just his personality.

Customer service sucks , and my apple fritter was raw.

This is probably the only donut shop I will go too. Only because their donuts are always made fresh and the service is quick. They have a big selection of donuts and they also offer breakfast sandwiches or croissant. MAKE SURE YOU BRING ONLY CASH THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CARD.

Cash only. The doughnuts here are always fresh and delicious. My wife enjoys the cinnamon twist, and I like the bear claw. The doughnut holes here are decently priced and addicting. I was waiting on some fresh doughnuts and ordered the holes while I wait. I ended up ordering 2 more cups for when I get home. Service here is pretty consistent and I dont have any complaints. Plus I love to support the little guy.

This place has been around since I was a kid. They make great doughnuts, strudels, cream puffs and a whole variety of delicious treats. They are also open until 9pm, because you never know when you're going to NEED that late night pastry.

Always fresh, the coffee is awesome. I always forget they're cash only but there is chase Bank ?? right next door. Very nice staff, I'm happy they've been able to stay open during covid.

The French cruller was awesome - plenty moist. The croissant sandwich was also delicious. The other donut waskind of dry, unfortunately. Also, they only accept cash. If still go back though if in the area again.

Great donuts. Better than most mom and pop donut shops around SD County. My kids love coming here every time we pass through Alpine.

Ehhh alright donuts owner was rude we waited about 5 minutes for him to take our order and we were in there alone didn?t greet us. Apple fritter was ??under cooked. did like chocolate bacon donut I thought it was poor quality and donuts are my thing

Great donuts! But there is no dining on the inside, and it's cash only. I'll go back because the donuts are with every bite!

Delicious donuts at a great price. Cash only.

This is probably one of my favorite donut places. The donuts are so fresh and this time when i went they had these cream puffs that are to die for. They just melt in your mouth. Yum.

Delicious donuts. Love this place. Only downside is they only accept cash, so be prepared for that. But it's so worth it!

Is always good have a good selection of donuts and they are delicious the service is quick the place is clean and the price is right but you must have cash

So ungodly tasty. Pastries this delightful shouldn't exist. I know when I lived closer I gained a few lbs. One bite, and you can't stop. So addictive!

This place is an Alpine staple. You absofreakinlutley need to come here and get the alpine doughnut. It is massive and amazeballz! They are also some of the best priced doughnuts in the county.

The donuts are meh. They only accept cash but have an ATM that charges you money to use it, which I'm sure is the reason they only accept cash.

They have the biggest donut I've ever seen in the world. The old fashioned buttermilk bar was a great way to end a long hike.

Always worth the drive from Chula Vista. Delicious every time we've come & very friendly!

Love the great bug donuts they come in there own box .great to give as a gift to maybe a work friend

The donuts are usually pretty hard and dry. Which tells me that they are old. But unfortunately this is the only donut shop in Alpine. Nothing beats Mary?s Donuts down in Lakeside & Santee.

The donuts themselves are quite delicious, but it can be quite annoying when they take every individual donut and put them in separate bags, instead if putting them all in a box.

Donuts were good But the customer service was terrible No good morning or have a nice day nothing not even a Smile Every time I go in the donut shop same thing

My first time there and I put this donut shop through the glazed test. This donut shop did not pass. The donut was to gooey with no crunch to it.

Always delicious and the owners are cool af. Jalapeno ham and cheese croissants are the best. ??

Good prices, Breakfast sandwiches are great. Kids loved the donuts. Cash only.

Great apple fritters and donuts! Finally a place to go and meet a great group of regular people in Alpine. Thanks to the staff!

Great selection of goodies. The apple fritter was an A+. Nice people who own the place.

Great selection! Cash only. Thank God for the Chase Bank nearby. It opens everyday.

Best donuts I?ve ever had.. tried the maple glazed and buttercream glazed.

This place has the best donuts on Earth and the jalapeno ham and cheese croissant are to die for!!!!

Tonight went to buy some donuts and the staff was rude & nasty! Donuts placed in wrong priced area.... ?? Alpine is a nice place, this place is not....

One of the only places that still serves cronuts. Super casual. Good Donuts
