Some of the best vegan cake donuts I?ve ever had. Well, really just best cake donuts I?ve ever had period. The perfect amount of crunch on the outside, followed by a soft and flavorful inside. The glazed and snickerdoodle vegan cake donuts were superb. I will absolutely pick some of these up next time I swing through town!
So happy that I found this place. I like their classic donuts. They are the perfect amount of dough and frosting and are absolutely delicious. I would?ve 100% recommend anybody to try this, the workers are always friendly. The place is always super clean and I?ve never had the coffee myself, but I have heard that it?s also very very good
We have been dying to try this place ever since we saw the YouTube video of Adam regusia. It didn't disappoint. The quaint little donut shop mixed with personable employees. Has to be west Knoxville best kept secret. I enjoyed having an apple fritter and chocolate glazed donuts. Along with a hot raspberry lavender latte and a honey cold brew. It was all top notch... We will definitely be making this our new favorite donut shop. I highly recommend that you do too.
Vegan doughnuts! I ordered the snickerdoodle and powdered donuts. Listen, the first donut shop I?ve ever been to and the vegan option was not more than the animal version ! That?s a win win????. Donuts were delicious! They held together nicely, I actually ate them the next day when I flew back to Puerto Rico ??
Best donuts in Knoxville!!!!! This is the best place to get donuts they are so full of flavor. My favorite is the coffee old fashion! Give it a try if you have not. The coffee is so good as well! You are going to spend some money here but it is totally worth it. The staff was amazing and sweet. The establishment was also extremely clean.
I really do like this place and really liked it when the lady owner was there she was polite super cool and amazing.. the donuts are great and I highly recommend them but to be honest? over the years the people working there is a mixed bag. As of lately (today for example) I just got a bad attitude from the girl working there and snarky remarks. I?m kind of sick of the crap service and look of ?i can?t be bothered? or looking like it?s a chore to ask for a damn donut. And I got over charged which I felt was
I haven't had a donut for ages because of my allergies. I was able to have a delicious vegan donut!!
11.30.2019 - Nice donut shop off Kingston Pike. Came in for a hot chocolate - $3. Didn?t try the donuts but they were larger than normal Krispy Kreme donuts so that?s exciting. Nice place to come and socialize or catch up with friends. Would definitely come back.
The "wow factor" of these donuts was the reason I even tried this place, and WOW! When I was in sales we took took these to clients office's because we knew they would be talked about. I have sent them to my kids schools and K-8 loves for sure!
Man, talk about good donuts! They've got some of the best that I've ever tried, and my family loves donuts. They actually taste of donut, and NOT of the frier oil, which is annoyingly rare. The old fashioneds in particular are perfectly crispy outside, soft inside, and have just the right amount of tasty frosting. Very good espresso drinks as well, although in my experience that is a lot easier to find than a *really* good donut like this! This is my family's favourite stop when we're over Knoxville wa
Excellent customer service, they went above and beyond. The donuts are absolutely delicious and will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Found this wonderful donut & coffee shop. We were surprised by how fast, friendly and great everything was! Definitely a favorite!! Did I mention how big their donuts are? Husband had to finish mine!! ??
You can just taste the difference compared to all these other places. I got me a Strawberry Paczki and it's probably the best donut I've had in a while. No obnoxious amounts of sugar, no denseness in the dough itself. This place is real deal.
I know why they are in the top 5 best donuts in Knoxville now. 1 they are massive, 2 they are good, and then there is no AND THEN. Big fluffy, fresh house made donuts, made from scratch. I mean what else do you need. Pros: 1 will fill you up Cons:1 will fill you up
Crazy. Good. Doughnuts. Some things you should know: doughnuts are made fresh in small batches. Apple fritters are usually the last to go out, so it may be 7:30 am or so before everything's up. Selection changes daily. Hours are set, but they do SELL OUT and CLOSE EARLY if that happens. $21 per dozen, so this isn't an everyday stop, but the quality and taste are so worth it. Check their social accounts for flavors and daily details. Super friendly staff and easy to get to location.
I decided to stop by status dough before work to grab a variety of doughnuts for my coworkers, since it?s right before Christmas. I got there 10 minutes early. When it was 7 and I noticed the worker coming to unlock the door I then got out my car, and waited by the door. After swiftly unlocking the door she ran to the back. Just mentioning that door is very hard to open from the outside after being locked all night. It would have been kind of nice for her to have helped opened the door and greeted me. When
Loved it. Nice little coffee shop, cool vibe. I had an excellent cortado - I love it when I actually see it on the menu! Then there are the wicked good doughnuts! I'm not a "doughnuts are life" kind of guy, yet I have to say they were really well done. The question I usually ask myself is, "would I make a trip to come here again" and the answer is a definite yes! I wish they just a little more table room, I'd like a little more space to crank open a laptop. But maybe that's the point. I mean I'm not sure I
VERY impressed with the vegan glazed donut. Wow. Excellent flavor and texture. I wouldn't have even known it was vegan.
Read that this place had great reviews and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. The girl working the front desk was wearing earbuds so when I asked her how their London Fog was she simply put it in that I was ordering one instead of answering my question. I also ordered a honey glaze donut and it was awful and left a nasty grease aftertaste. The London fog was also horrible, tasted like water and cold milk. For a donut and tea it was $8 and some change. I would not recommen
A delightful spot for a coffee and a yummy chocolate covered old fashioned doughnut. I had an iced coffee and also a chai tea latte. Milk options include almond and oatmeal. Service is amazing! I love Luna?s fun personality. He?s very engaging with each customer and so good at running the place on his own. He made me and my friend feel feel like guests at his home. Would love to return! Note: Ask about their coffee rewards program! ??
Top tier donut experience in Knoxville. Absolutely the best around; unmatched year after year, even as newer shops pop up. Do yourself a favor and get both a cake and a yeast donut, they?re both great and a cup of coffee. Staff is always friendly, I?ve never had a bad experience. Worth the 30 minute round trip that I have to make to visit.
Batu, S.J., Scout, & Payton are phenomenal at superb customer service. Every time I walk into the Bearden Hill &/or the Downtown locations, they greet me with a smile and professionalism. Today, my old phone died before they could scan the reward for a free coffee. Scout was so kind and let me have her shift drink. Payton rung everything up properly, & they both contacted S.J. to let her know I've used up my freebie. Good job, Dough-ers... Best dough-nut shop in town. God bless you.
This was the experience everyone else has been on about, gigantic yeast doughnuts beautifully decorated. Fluffy and soft with that snap of a crunchy outside. Went a little wild a got a sampling of a few styles. The counter attendant Michael, helped me choose some good options and was great. Handled a couple of customers at once. They also have some of those yankee cake doughnuts for those of y?all that are into that kind of thing
We had a large donut delivery at UTCVM for finals week! The donuts were absolutely to die for! Huge hit! Everyone loved the variety of flavor options! Boston cream pie is definitely my favorite! Delivery was on time and the owner was amazing! The owner is super friendly and truly cares about his business and customers! I will definitely be ordering from them against for personal and professional events!
Everyone was my new favorite one! Some of the best doughnuts I've had since Fosters donuts in Thousand Oaks 30 years ago. Thank you Status dough!
I?ve been wanting to try this place for a while. I have to say that the raised glazed donut was outstanding. The woman who got my donuts was super friendly and enthusiastic. I didn?t eat there, so really couldn?t judge the atmosphere. The overall rating is 4 because of the two other donuts I purchased. The cinnamon roll didn?t have much, if any, cinnamon and was a little stale. The Boston cream had only a little filling and also was a little stale. I did not get there until after 11, so that might exp
Delicious. I got half a dozen for $12.55, tax included. Apple ??fritter is the best one to me. God is good.
Fantastic doughnuts! Went in to try it out on a Saturday morning. Doughnuts are huge and the selection great. Got a dozen (in retrospect, given the size of the doughnuts this was overkill). Coffee was great as well. Loved the Apple fritter, probably the best I've had. Wife loved the honey glazed. Kinda glad they're on the other side of town from me or I'd be broke and weigh a thousand pounds....
The Donuts are marvelous! The coffee is average. The customer service was average or below. It's a very quaint spot but nothing that just says WOW. I definitely recommend the donuts though!
No, just not my kind of donuts. Very heavy, very sweet and underwhelming taste. We did not enjoy the Boston cream or the maple donut al you could taste was the sweetness. Cute restaurant but we did not enjoy the donuts.
Get there early if you want the apple fritters. They are the BEST! But if they?ve already gone by the time you arrive, get the coffee old fashioned doughnut.
People support local. You won't be disappointed. Best donuts and coffee in town. The decor is little hideous but the food products are awesome. The coffee cups can be better and can add coffee stoppers to that list too.
Terrific service! The young gal working there was incredibly friendly made a great coffee and was great chat with.. Even if the coffee at donut sucked I would probably go back because of her. But the coffee was phenomenal and the donut was also terrific. It's a bit Spartan inside but apart from that it's a winner.
Terrible Decision I have had great donuts here before. I came on Wednesday Sept. 27 3pm, service was great but it was almost $20 for 6 donuts which tasted like pool chemicals. Should have spent that money to get shots at Calhouns and stumble down to KK. Can Status Dough keep the status quo? Only time will tell.
The donuts are good, but if it's after 10 a.m. you can forget getting the kind you want. They don't make enough donuts. Went in at 11am and they only had few leftovers. So I wouldn't go if it's after 10am. I say 10am because this has happened 5+ different times to me and family. So if your not early don't go.
Donuts were big, a little pricey for individual and we don't need 3-6 donuts each lol. I actually really liked the Nutella filled powdered donut and those normally aren't my thing. The Boston creme was good but would of liked a little more filling. Donuts themselves were fresh, flakey but had a good density. Want to come back for tea/coffee as their menu did catch our attention.
Love their style of old-fashioned donuts. I stop every time I visit Knoxville.
These are the most amazing donuts l, and I wholly believe that. Every perfect day starts with a donut from Status Dough. If I could, I would eat Status Dough for every meal.
Oh SO SO Good ! Love the Intelligensia Coffee as well! Great service !
Meh. It's dark with a cold, industrial theme in there. And the boston cream donuts literally have no cream for some reason.
Status Dough makes very good donuts. While not the absolute best donuts I have ever had, it is obvious from the flavors and textures that they use high quality ingredients and prepare their donuts with care. These are special donuts indeed. Status Dough donuts are of much better quality than the chain store donuts and also Richy Kreme. I would say they're better than Duck Donuts too, but not by much, and Duck's pricing and sizing works better for me. In fact, the only turnoff with Status Dough is the prices
This place is usually on point almost every single time, as long as you get there early, you should have decent selections. Sometimes they still have plenty later in the day every now and then there may be a lackluster employee but 99% of the time the staff is usually really pleasant, or at least professional. Love this place with all my heart had great memories here and many more to come I?m sure !
Betting that most days they are 100% ? we?re out of a few ingredients when we visited but still had a great selection and good service
I'm not sure who needs to know this, but they have vegan donuts! My husband, who is deathly allergic to dairy, has safely ate their donuts and loves them! The service has been great each time. I, personally, am not a fan of donuts, but I thoroughly enjoy their honey glazed donut. 10/10
Swung by this little coffee shop on the way home, and dude makes a mean mocha. Donuts are good too. #Writerslife #Hillbilly #coffee #mocha
The doughnuts were great! Very fresh and tasty. The coffee was not good, though. We got a caramel iced coffee and an Americano and both we couldn?t finish. The iced coffee was majorly sweet. I decided to give five stars, just for the doughnuts.
Delicious! The server was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Not the biggest selection of doughnuts (I think they had about a dozen flavors) but everything I had was great. Coffee was delicious, they serve Intelligentsia beans. And for those with food allergies their kitchen is nut free (but of course ask to confirm yourself)!
Best donuts in town, and I'm pretty sure I've tried every donut in town. These are fluffy, flavorful, jumbo sized donuts that are worth all of their calories. And I'm pretty sure there's lot of calories. Only down side is I'm not crazy about the coffee. It has a strange and bitter taste that over powered the milk and caramel I had it with the second time I tried it, but you may like it so give it a try. Last thing, the staff have been great. Especially Michael.
As Uber eats drivers were allowed to ask if our order is ready. Don't stand there, and ignore us like we don't exist. Everyone else that I've dealt with from your store has been great, except the blonde lady you had working Sunday April 7 at 9 am. Looking at previous reviews I would imagine she is the reason for every last one of them.
I was just in there earlier today and it was great! SJ was so friendly and the coffee was super good. I had never been here, but I suggest the chai latte and coffee old fashioned! If you are vegan, they have vegan donut options too. 10/10 would recommend
I stopped in on my way through Knoxville and was delighted by the vegan doughnuts and wonderful service on New Year?s Eve afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting additional flavors. My favorite was cinnamon and sugar vegan cake doughnut, but the glazed vegan did not disappoint. The decor had a modern cafe vibe and if I had more time I would have loved to relax and had a coffee and doughnut. Maybe next time. I will definitely visit on my next trip through Knoxville.
Status Dough has been my favorite place for a donut in Knoxville since they?ve opened. Always consistent. Always the best. Their honey glazed (think just glazed) is by far my favorite just because it?s simple, yeasty, fluffy, not too sweet, perfection. I?ve had several others and never been disappointed. It is more expensive than the crispy store down the road, but it?s so much better.
Five stars doesn't do it justice. The donuts were AMAZING!! Old fashion classic and the apple fritter were my favorite. Hope to go there again when we're visiting next time.
I do a lot of traveling for work, and I always try the local donut places this may be the best I've ever had. The donuts here are not too sweet in fact not too much of anything. Every other donut I've ever had has had too much of something whether it's toppings, sugar, or bread. These are also by far the best old fashioned type donuts ive ever had, tangy and sweet perfect with coffee which is another thing they do well here, not the best cup ever, but much better than the standard donut shop fair. If I am e
Just when you think you've found your new favorite donut place; Status Dough comes along and blows the rest out of the water. We haven't tried all the varieties but the ones we've tried so far are so amazing and taste so homemade. We work from home so getting a half dozen delivered to our home office during the week through DoorDash has been such a wonderful thing. Today the box we got; someone had drawn a donut with a happy face on the box and "Thank You" It's those little things in customer service that
I can't understand the high ratings. Google rarely leads me wrong. Floors were dirty. Bathroom was nasty. London fog tea tasted like water. Small selection of doughnuts and they were just barely ok. Prices were high. Worker was uninvolved. Nothing looked like the pictures. The latte was dumped into a to go cup, even though we ate there. I've never seen such a bad restaurant after seeing such high Google reviews. I can't understand it.
Did not make the status cut. This is by far not the best donut place to get donuts. A half dozen should not cost 13 bucks. Yes the glaze and old fashion donuts are larger than normal; however, where size comes in taste leaves. The larger rise donut were dry and the old fashion was lacking flavor. The chocolate glaze tasted liked warmed up grocery store canned chocolate icing. The maple bacon had more bacon fat than bacon and the maple frosting overpowered everything. Friendly staff, but very loud inside th
Nice buttermilk donut. Not common in the northeast. Looked and tasted homemade. The chocolate frosting was a little sweet for my taste, but it?s a donut so I?m not gonna make much out of that. My only actual gripe wasn?t about the donut itself but the lack of information about nutritional content. I usually like to know the calorie count of my desserts and since there are 3 kinds of donuts here, I asked which would be the least fattening and the staff couldn?t answer that. I?d have appreciated some informat
I love the atmosphere and donuts here. Very modern and simplistic decor. I am a huge fan of old fashion donuts but when I moved here in 2009, couldn?t find them anywhere! Status dough has amazing old fashion donuts, and cool specialty donuts. My only two complaints are that their frosting and glazes are VERY sweet, to the point it is too much and they are skimpy with the bacon on the maple bacon. Other than those two thing this place is great!
The old fashion donut I had was the best ever! Moist and flavorful. The iced vanilla latte was also marvelous! Better than Starbucks. It was smooth and flavorful, also.
I normally don't like crueller style donuts but their old-fashioned buttermilk donuts are amazing. If you enjoy apple fritters, this is your place... plenty of apple chunks and cinnamon make these some of the best I've ever had.
Helpful staff, fresh coffee and espresso, and giant donuts! The assortment is amazing! Yeast, cake, old fashion, even filled and fritters!! The many varied flavors offer something for every palette! Overall, a cozy little joint perfect for a midday pick-me-up or a friendly morning get together.
The donuts are fine (not amazing), but for those who found this as a Google result for "coffee shops": Worst latte I've ever had. Pretty sure the milk was sour and there was an insane amount of syrup to obscure the fact. Also impossible to study or get work done here as the barista loudly gossips with her friend across the counter. Barista was incredibly rude in general and shouldn't work customer service. I usually wouldn't bother to leave a bad review, but for those of us looking for a place to hang out,
Status Dough has the absolute best doughnuts in Knoxville, and we?re so delighted to have found them a few years ago. And now we?re even more loyal fans since learning last week that their Bearden location is now peanut-free and tree nut-free! This is so important to us, as we have a 7 y/o with life-threatening food allergies, and he?s never been able to enjoy them before now. That changed on Sunday, and he has declared the doughnuts as ?DECLIOUS!? :) (We also appreciate that they have vegan options.) Each
Such a cute little doughnut shop. The doughnuts were delicious and the service wonderful.
Our first visit was nothing short of exceptional. Upon entering, we were greeted with an aesthetically pleasing interior, a clear menu, and a beautiful display of donuts. Sometimes, with so many yummy options, it can be hard to know what to choose, so I enjoyed the idea of a suggestion board that showed which drinks and donuts might go well together. Nick ordered the maple bacon donut, to which he spent no time finishing, and I got the strawberry cake donut
I did a donut crawl and hit up Status Dough, Donut Distillery and East Park donuts and coffee. Status Dough wins on two accounts: punniest name and best old-fashioned donut. I love me some old-fashioned donuts. One thing that makes me sad is that most old-fashions are smaller than other donuts. The ones at Status Dough are not. The aren't giant, but they are big. Enough to feel like a donut and coffee is a meal rather than a pre-breakfast snack. I tried the coffee flavored old-fashioned donut. It was very
I absolutely LOVED this place. I went to the Status Dough for the first time today. I got a half dozen donuts including 2 specialty ones and a vanilla latte. I think I?m in love. It?s a good thing we don?t live closer! The latte was amazing- better than Starbucks- *gasp!* I was very impressed that the strawberry filled donut was filled with actual pur?ed strawberries; not just bulk bought jelly. It was delicious. We also tried the (I believe it was) a buttermilk crueler donut. I have some others left to try
Going to piggy-back off of the most recent review below me-- there actually appears to be no way to order online as of september 2023. No "Order online" option when viewing it on google maps, and even when you go to the website - there's no preorder option. I can see why this would create the exact situation outlined below, where people come in person to order several dozen donuts in the line and selfishly put an unfair wait on the poor souls who just wanted one donut and a drip coffee. I would have walked
The Status Dough donuts was so huge, I needed two hands just to pick up one. And once I tasted one Status Dough dessert, I wanted to try them all. Status Dough Donuts was the best fresh gourmet dough I have ever enjoyed as amazing dessert treat
Needed coffee badly. I ordered a mocha that the dude working there SERIOUSLY hooked up and was the best coffee I had during my stay in Knoxville. The honey glazed donut was so good I devoured it in the parking lot.
Best doughnuts in town!! They are always fresh and cooked to perfection. You won?t find a tastier selection anywhere. Their lattes, hot chocolate and lemonade are also out of this world. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and a wonderful military discount for those who serve.
These are seriously good donuts. I should know my parents owned a donut store when I was a kid so I grew up on them (and testing out the competitors). Status Dough not only makes a good donut, they make them huge! We chatted with the cashier for a bit too and she was exceptionally friendly and pleasant. Seriously good donuts though. Go see.
I stopped here on a road trip heading up towards the Northeast. What an adorable and relaxed place. The buttermilk old fashioned donut was one of the best I?ve ever had, it wasn?t too sweet and tasted so fresh. The iced coffee was delicious and I adored their patio seating too. Run, don?t walk, here! ????????
Amazing donuts made fresh daily, I love the selection that they have here. For under $5 you can grab a fresh-brewed coffee and a donut, it's fantastic. They also accept Android and Apple pay, which is a big plus for me. Great location and great food, I look forward to becoming a regular here!
These donuts do taste like vegetable oil. When you walk in the shop there is a strong smell of it. They are not uneatable, just have that strong flavor. I got a half dozen and they cost me 13 dollars... would rather get donuts at a gas station especially for the price and taste
Great tasting doughnuts! Highly recommend.
Status Dough elevates donuts to a whole new level. We were blown away when we took our first bite of their Old Fashioned Donuts - they were out of this world! The dough was so rich and delicious. And their specialty donuts were huge. We'd never seen such a unique variety of donuts - Maple w/Bacon, etc.
The donuts are outstanding. The only reason I marked down for service is not on the person doing the work, but on the fact that it was only one person doing everything. The person behind the counter was great at her job and super friendly but overworked for the demand.
The entire experience was just... okay. A little pretentious but sometimes, that?s not a bad thing. The doughnuts were made well, using high quality ingredients but not very memorable. The shop was clean and well cared for, but the decor was very plain and the tables weren?t designed for comfort or as a gathering spot. The place was small, but not cozy. The coffee was okay, but not worth stopping in for. The menu offered a decent selection of items, but everything was overpriced far above it?s value. I?d say
Went to specialty get some apple fritters and Boston cream. I got there 30min after they opened and they still weren?t ready. Only had a few selections to ready to choose from. Drove 30 min to get there will not be back.
Their coffee and donuts are great. I particularly like the honey glazed yeast donut. Their chocolate glazed ones are a bit too bitter for my taste. The coffee is quite good too. Better than the chains.
Seriously the best donut I have ever had. They are big and a little pricey but so worth it! I had the strawberry filled. There was actual strawberries in it and not just some strawberry gel. Amazing!! I've told many people about them. If you get a chance go get one. You won't regret it.
It's almost like they changed their recipe for their donuts since they opened. The last two times I was there the donuts we're not as expected. The apple fritter was dry and crusty. Another time I picked up a buttermilk Cruller and it tasted like nothing but sugar. When they first opened I tried their donuts several times and they were the best I had ever tasted. I really hate to say it but I will not be returning.
I had to do a series of interviews while I was in Knoxville and chose to have them at Status Dough. I could not have picked a better place to spend two days. The staff is beyond friendly and were extremely hospitable. The coffee is fantastic. But what we really really need to be discussing here is this apple fritter. I have eaten apple fritters from apple orchards to original doughnut houses throughout the country and this place had the best I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop in!!!! Chef appr
Status Dough has the best vegan donuts in Knoxville. They usually have 3 flavors: powdered, glazed, and a cinnamony snickerdoodle. They?re consistently delicious. Their coffee is also really yummy. Any location that offers non-dairy replacements for lattes gets a thumbs up in my book.
The best donuts and pastry in town! But their coffee leaves a little to desire. I've had a latte from there twice, both times not hot enough, not a good flavor to the coffee. The espresso used for it tasted burnt and overpowering, didn't blend well.
Went to Status Dough today on my work break. Honestly, the best donuts I've ever had! Service was extremely friendly and efficient and she even gave me an extra donut without me knowing until after payment. Great place, great service!
