I've gone to this donut shop more times than is deserved. The guy running it is rude af, I once asked if he had any coffee available and he goes "what the hell kinda coffee shop doesn't have coffee!!" The donuts suck and are packed with salt, owner is super rude every time you talk with him

This place is on a downhill roller coaster. They have gone down. They used to be the best donuts, and now they taste nasty. Got 5 cinnamon rolls today, (April 26, 2023) and 1 old fashion, it had a bad oil taste, and very little cinnamon, not like they use to be back in the day, they are smaller than what they use to make. I remember how fantastic they use to be, but I won't waste my time or money here again. Time for them to close down and retire or hire someone else to do the work that know how to make do

This is an amazing Donut stand on the way in and out of Coronado on hwy 75 in Imperial Beach. Cinnamon rolls are to die for and old fashioned chocolate is a time machine back to when I was a kid.

First time I've been here, bought 1/2 dozen. There's only one person working there in the morning (didn't see anyone else) he was friendly, but quaint. The donuts were pretty tasty, and for those saying the cinnamon rolls aren't that good, There's a difference between cinnamon rolls and cinnamon Buns (buns are sold here, not rolls) so, they're pretty good. Walked up to the window and said hi how are you? He said fine thank you. I asked for 2 of each. He had pecan donuts and cinnamon rolls left. As he was bagging my "fesh nuts"...I asked him if he was having a good day, he said "I said I'm fine thank you". This man is definitely an introvert, and he intrigued me. The donuts are small and tasty. I do taste the salty lard in them and it's delicious. I like the salty, sweet flavor. Do not come here expecting service with a smile, lol.

Have been to this business on 3 occasions. First, a woman working was sitting in view on her phone for about 4 minutes ignoring customers. Second, the old man working the stand was actively putting away the donuts. I asked if they were open...because he was putting away the donuts. His response was "can't you read the sign". You go for the donuts and nothing else :) . They are amazing. I read many reviews on the terrible customer service. My unbiased opinion is the owner is friendly enough, but won't win any awards for outstanding customer services. Get there early otherwise, you'll miss out.

Best donuts in San Diego, if not the world! My parents and grandparents have been coming here since forever. The two brothers that run the show take care of each batch made and take pride in their work. Some days they run out early because everybody wants some. So get there when they open or shortly after. I will take your donuts from you if you ain't around. Peanut butter and chocolate donut is a great one. Same with the German chocolate. Maple bar is great. Honestly, it's all dank. You have never tasted treats like this. It's not your regular donut shop. Everything from dough to filling to icing is original recipes and made by in house. How else you could explained the unique taste like this. I was lucky to find this place open and was amazed by the quality and flavors. I think they have original family recipes you can not find anywhere. A must visit place.

This place is the real deal. I've been trying to get donuts here for awhile, but it hasn't been open when I've been in the area. So I was pleased last week when I drove by and spotted a short line outside. The German chocolate donut was really fantastic. Perfectly baked, crisp on the outside, and perfectly sweet. Just remember, it's cash only!

I've been at IB for 3 years and it's the first time that I've seen this place open so I had to try. I got the cinnamon roll and I liked it. I'll go back and try their donuts next time I see them open.

Amongst the best doughnuts I have ever had the pleasure of eating! I have been getting (eating) doughnuts from Star Dust since I was old enough to eat solid foods and I will be a return customer until they decide to retire. I always recommend this place to friends and family from out of town when they come down for a visit. The old fashioned and the cinnamon rolls are always my go to, but everything they make is absolute delicious perfection.

Bought a cinnamon rolls and maple pecan doughnuts, both were too salty. The cinnamon rolls had very little cinnamon flavor.

I stopped there years ago having no idea what to expect. Middle of the day. 2 guys were still making donuts. I asked them what was best. They told me whatever they just made. I had one. No bells or whistles, but DANNNNG the donuts are delicious! Glazed, Cinnamon Rolls, Old Fashion, Maple Bar, Apple Fritter w Caramel and I LOVE the Pecan Roll with Caramel. Posted hours are 8:30am to 1:30pm Closed Sun and Mon, but have heard it is not consistent.

Stardust is an Imperial Beach staple! We have been going here since I was a little girl, it?s always a special treat to this day when we get to have some stardust! The cinnamon rolls are my favorite!

Tried to buy a donut here this morning, went to pay with $20 and was told that I couldn't only purchase a single donut with that amount, I said I guess I will be purchasing nothing then and left. Sad when businesses make it difficult for you to give them money, especially since it looked like a local family business.

Cinnamon rolls are among the best in the state. Only negative is the hours of operation, they open at approx. 10:00 am and close when sold out. Whenever that is!

The man behind the counter did not have a mask on and there is currently a mask mandate. He picked at his beard and I watched him flick a hair on the floor, then when he was bagging the donuts, the same thumb that wiped his beard also touched every donut.

Yes, they have irratic hours, no tables, no bathroom and yes the friendly brother is the one who died but there is a reason people have stood in line for fifty years for a chance to buy even one doughnut.
