If you want the best donuts in town head over to Square Donuts. Made fresh daily. Get there early for the best variety. The flavor of these square shaped goodies are beyond belief. Check out a local legend if you?re visiting. If you?re a local you know how good they are.

Easily some of the best donuts that I have ever had. They are soft and delicious and come in several different varieties. Service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. This is a popular place, and if they run out before 11am, they are done for the day. So, if it's later in the morning, you may want to call ahead to make sure they are still operating.or that they still have the type of donut you are wanting. This is a cash only establishment. Cards are not accepted.

Get there around 6-7am or you?ll miss out. They are usually sold out early. Best donuts I?ve ever had. So doughy and delicious. Can?t be beat.

As a former resident of Terre Haute, this used to be a staple. I was passing by on a business trip. I was able to talk my boss into making a stop(I harassed him until he relented). We got there late, not a whole lot of selection left, not any of the classic glazed donuts, for certain. But buy the donuts, I did. This isn't an eatery, it's a donut shop. If you're passing through, make time to go early. Excellent texture and flavors.

Stopped here to check out the square donuts. It was super neat. However, for it being before 9 am they had a very limited selection left to choose from. It was the last day before they were open before closing for vacation, but I was disappointed in the lack of options. The cost was decent. You can't dine in. You can get yourself a coffee.

First time here with the kids...we all loved it.. great selection of donuts. The staff was so nice to us....very friendly. The donuts were fresh and so good. They have a drive up window. Overall great place for donuts. Check out the picture.

Best donuts in town! Note: cash only!

Donuts were round...until Richard Comer Sr made them square. We had never had a square donut before, and I don?t just mean the brand. Donuts have always been round so why the attraction to square? I?m not sure, but I had to find out! Whether round or square, I?m sure these would taste the same, but different is so much more fun, don?t you think? I had a cream filled and oh was it amazing! Soft and sweet! They do only take cash so have it handy. We went close to closing and still got some great donuts! A ver

Favorite donut stop of all time! Cash only, huge variety of classic flavors. You must try a warm square!!

In town for a tourney and wanted a snack. Internet says closes at 2. Pulled in at 1:39 and you are closed! Poor customer service! I had to put one star to publish this. I wouldn?t have put any. Smh!!

Square Donuts delivers tasty square donuts and they have fast service. Being a cash only operation, they are able to keep the line moving and their customers happy! If your looking for a great local donut shop in Terre Haute, look no further! As mentioned earlier, don?t forget to bring to bring cash, because they do not take credit cards...

You've got to try this place...great donuts - only down side, it's closed on Sundays and Mondays!!! On Eclipse Monday the street was closed off in front of their shop for vendors for the street festival...they missed a great opportunity...love this place...

This place is incredible, absolutely prefect! The tractor tires(old fashion sour cream donuts) and the original glazed squares are phenomenal i could sit there all day and keep forcing these delectable donuts into my mouth hole. ???? i come here every single time i am in terre haute, sadly ill even make special trips from my home an hour and fifteen away to TH for these succulent snacks. 5 stars, 10/10, two thumbs up, and 12 donuts in my belly.9okl

Got 2 dozen donuts and didn't have to wait but maybe 5 mins! Quick and friendly staff.

Very friendly. Best donuts. Freshly made every time. Cash only but worth it. Try to get there early before they run out. They usually run out around noon or 2;00, because all the locals know who makes the best donuts in town.

Seemingly a staple of Terre Haute, IN this place is just amazing. Its old school, cash only, and has a stunning feel of the old days when people were nice and donuts were ok all the time. They close whenever they run out of donuts and that's usually mid morning. We went on a Sunday around 10pm and they still have plenty left. Go get yourself some Square Donuts...or 5 like me.

Cash only? In 2025?! Must be a money laundering scheme. Drove over to grab some donuts but going to get cash is too much of a hassle.

Wasn't aware cash only also went in craving an apple fritter, left there craving an apple fritter

Pretty good donuts! Our favorite had peanut butter frosting and jelly filling. It?s cash only, not really any seating and very limited parking. Worth stopping by!

Once again I left a happy customer. Loaded up the car & brought a few boxes of deliciousness home to the family. We don't get to Terre Haute too often so when we get to have Square Donuts it's a real treat. It a tradition! Been going here for over 50 yrs. when the original bakery was on 63. Thank you Square Donuts for your many many years of being in business.

Rude staff? Amazing donuts! They take CASH only and will close if they run out of donuts so be there early if you wanna try their amazing donuts. PICK YOUR DONUTS! Do not let them choose your ?assorted? because I let them choose mine and they gave me 5 pcs of the same donut! Terrible staff.

The only thing bad about this place is the cash only policy but typically anyone who's been in Terre haute for any amount of time is aware of this policy and is prepared.

As I recall, the glazed square donuts are the best around. Problem is they run out of them WAY TO EARLY. The last SEVERAL attempts both locations were out by mid morning. Make more glazed donuts!!!

Best donuts around! You can't eat just one!

Fun donuts! They are square. Fresh tasting reasonably priced.

love this place the donuts aren't heavy their light and fluffy

Square donuts is probably the most unprepared business I have ever seen. They never stick to their open or closing schedule. They only take cash, and they do not prepare enough donuts for customers. Got to the establishment at 10:10am and they told me that they were sold out of donuts. Mind you this is my fifth time coming to this place and I still have not tried a single donut. So I am just fed up with stores lack of availability for all customers. But I can imagine that they don?t care about one customers

I would have loved to tell you how the donuts are however Google said square donuts was open until 2 PM. Their website said Square donuts was open until 3 PM door said it was open until 2 PM but it was closed up tight at 1:45.

Only 4/5 because of cash only payments. When local businesses want supported they should cater towards the norm, especially in a college town with a younger generation.

Good classic donuts. Just remember that they only accept cash.

I'm not sure what happened to this place over the last year, but I wish you all the luck getting a doughnut if you aren't there when the doors open. I was just there at 7:30am on a Saturday and they were out of 2/3rds of my order. This has been the case the last 3 times I've visited. The doughnuts are delicious, if you can get one. Being the only good doughnut in town just to be out of product before 8am consistently is bonkers.

The only way they could get better is if they accepted cards!

Cash only in 2024 is insane. This isn't 1993 anymore. Get with the times. This has to be a money laundering scheme. They can just raise the prices to accommodate for card processing fees and offer a cash discount to their original price. What a joke.

Best donuts in town!!! A little Sunday treat. We like sharing them with our church family as well.

Possibly the best donuts in Indiana, but get there early, they sell out fast.

I am gonna be honest. They have the best donuts. They just dont know how to run a business. I have been there 3 times this month. I was there at 9 a.m. August 21.2023. worker cars in the parking lot. But they was closed. I KNOW they say first come first serve. But if you run out at 9 am . make a bigger batch. I really want a dozen of donuts.

My kids always ask for Square Donuts when we're in town. However, they've been closed or out of donuts. They also only accept cash, which you don't know until you walk up to the store. It would be nice if you could order online and pick up your order in the store. Would it be that hard for one person to be available to expedite online orders? Does this company even have an online presence? Come into the 21st century, Square Donuts! There's no denying quality of their product, but it would be nice to be able

Every time we go here they're out of donuts. Today, it's 10:00 a.m. and I went to get some Square Donuts and they're already out. Judging from all the reviews on here, it seems like it's something that happens all the time. If you know that you're always running out of donuts and not able to meet customer demand, you would think at some point you would decide to start making more donuts and make more money. I don't know. Call me crazy. We also got shorted one donut and had to go back in. By the time we went

From Cincinnati for business and these donuts are the best!!!!

I LOVE Square Donuts!!!! Always super fast and friendly service, and the same amazing quality every single time. Their prices are ridiculously cheap for the quality of donut, 91? for a single donut just sounds too good to be true. My only complaint is that their parking lot is not the best design, it?s very easy to get stuck behind the drive thru line leaving the store, which is a little frustrating. I also wish they were open later, but that?s a small price to pay for getting donuts made fresh every day.

I used to pedal my bike to their 3rd street location back in the 80?s & they?re still as good today as back then. I?ve driven all over this country (CDL A Truck Driver) and had donuts from just about every state & these are still the freshest best tasting donuts bar none.

You could at least put on your website that you accept cash only. 97% of America makes purchases with debit/credit card. You know, just like the gas station I went to before I wasted my time driving to your establishment. Here's another 1-star review for you. Don't worry, I won't be returning.

Good quality doughnuts with a fun twist on the shape.

Best donuts in town period. Biggest complaint is the cash only policy. I've had to pass on it many times after realizing I had no cash just credit card. The service is quick and prices are more than fair. Grabing a dozen or two and sharing with co-workers is a great way to brighten people's day!

In my opinion they absolutely beat any of the other "popular" brands out there. They have their classic square shaped glazed yeast donut, cream and chocolate and maple filled. A jelly filled peanut butter frosted that makes you want to cry it's so good. ***consider yourself warned*** They are addictive and worth driving out of your way to buy and the staff is amazing!!!

If you don't want to work in customer service -don't work in customer service. It doesn't matter what day or time of the week I go in -there is constantly rude staff. Whether it be at the window or inside. This morning more particularly it was inside. They know that it's a weekend and they are going to be busy as it is one of our towns staple of a place to go. They need to figure out a balance of handling each customer with a smile and kindness because I got anyting but that this morning.

Always the best place in town for donuts! Do yourself a favor and go super early. Great selection of ??! My faves are the maple cream, tractor tires...and, of course, those traditional squares!!

Good donuts. Unique only in their shape. Variety and flavor are pretty standard for any donut shop, which is why I settled at 4/5. Big thing here though is you can really tell they are freshly made that day. Which is much better than the chains like Dunkin that thaw and serve.

The last four times that I?ve been in town I?ve tried to get the glazed square donuts. I get there between 9-10am and they?ve been sold out EVERY TIME. I watch the people in the back doing absolutely nothing when they could be making glazed donuts. It?s TWO hours before closing; make the donuts. Tired of the ?get here earlier?. If I were the owner I?d be looking at how they?ve lost over $40 for each time they haven?t had those available just from me. They tell me I can call the night before to reserve them.

I just adore this place. It?s tiny but produces the absolute best donuts I?ve ever had in my life.

I've been eating square donuts all my life and I swear they are the best donuts I've ever eaten. I make a point to try other donut shops in other towns when I travel just to compare them to these hometown donuts. Ive to this day not found anyone making a donut that compares to Square Donuts. Remember to bring cash they don't take credit card. Very reasonably priced as well as being the worlds best donut. If you've never had them you must stop in. You will not be disappointed. If you o think another donu

Amazing! Love eating Square D's any time I can! Kids love it too. The best donuts I have EVER had. It is cash only and they do sometimes run out of the good ones, but read the reviews, go early, take cash and enjoy!

Don't forget to bring cash! Best donuts in Terre Haute, none other are even close. Go early or they might be out of the squares.

Best donuts I?ve ever had...and I?m ashamed to say I?ve had a lot.! ??. Next to coming home to visit family and friends,, I look forward to bring able to get square donuts. I started eating them as a kid and now as an adult, my child looks forward to getting them as well. We even have friends in North Carolina where we live now who send their orders with us and anxiously await our return so they can get their donuts. Great donuts,, great variety, great staff, great memories and new traditions....what mor

Absolutely the best donuts in the world. With sushi being my death row last meal the square donut is an easy death row breakfast choice. If I had one complaint it would be that they only take cash. If that's my biggest complaint you must be pretty close to perfect.

Donuts are amazing! I grew up enjoying these wonderful donuts until we moved to St Louis. Now it's a requirement for anyone in our family who goes back to Terre Haute to bring a few dozen back home to the rest of us in St Louis. Today it's my turn so see you in a couple hours. ??Love, Love, Love them!!!!!

Who doesn't love fresh donuts. Everytime I go they always have a smile on their face and are happy to help you choose what dozen you want! It's a must if you are new to town or if you are just wanting a soft and sweet donut that melts in your mouth!!

Cash only, but well worth that little extra effort. They are easily the best donuts in Terre Haute! A unique place with a ton of different flavors and fillings. They're also pretty cheap compared to a lot of good donut places I've been to.

The service was fast and efficient! They always put a smile on my face and the doughnuts are absolutely amazing. They have everything from juice to coffee to soda and then a ton of choices for your sweet tooth! We are returning customers and always will be!

I really do like this place. The donuts are great and the employees are pretty friendly for the most part. However, I'm giving 4 stars because they only take cash. In this day and age I think every place should take credit cards with how uncommon it is to always have cash on hand.

I have been an engineer for nearly 8 years, and I kid you not I literally stopped the train at the intersection to get square donuts. They were good but someone kept yelling at me for blocking the road. I dont know why he has a problem with me quenching my everlasting lover for creamy buttery donuts. Would recommend and worth stopping a train for

First time ever to Square donuts. Was going to get donuts for the whole shift at a factory I work. With an average of 3-4 each over a 12 hour shift. Drove halfway across town to find them open but with the doors locked, and signs saying "drive thru only", and "cash only". Took 2 seconds for this shop to loose my business. EVER.

Their donuts are so unique and delicious. Good prices and good selection. Any friend from out of town I try to take here. Only thing I would change is I wish they would be open later. 3pm is too early if you want to take a friend after work.

Best doughnuts in town...hands down! There are so many different flavors in all shapes and sizes to choose from. When I bring my children in and let them choose, I always allow myself lots of extra time. It's a tough choice for them when they all look so delicious. :)

I would put these donuts up against any I've ever had. Absolutely delicious ??

Skip the chain restaurants and gas station donuts, this local family owned donut shop is the best around. There is a line for the drive through every day of the week. Their classic square shaped yeast donut is the most popular, but I also love the cake donuts and tractor tires. The seasonal pumpkin spice icing is also delicious. Don't forget your cash $$, because they do not accept credit/debit cards.

If it were hip to be square, then I'd undoubtedly be a Square Donut! You can taste the hometown homemade goodness in every bite, especially if you are fortunate enough to get them still warm. Be it classic square glazed, strawberry iced creme filled. holes plain or blueberry, there is no wrong choice. There is no donut that I am aware, worthy to dare attempt rival the Square!

They always run out of donuts hours before they close. Today I went there at 11am for donuts they said they were out but they didn?t close until 3pm. THAT?S FOUR HOURS!!! The employee said that the person who makes the donuts leaves at 9:30 and when they run out no one can make more. That ridiculous and a company loss in money to have your employees sit around for hours doing nothing or leaving early when you can be making money.

Good donuts?if they have any. A freakin donut store that runs out 2.5 hours before they close. Not the 1st time, and by looking ant reviews, not just me. Only in Terre Haute. Cash only? Hmmm

Found this place online, viewed them menu and went in the morning. I asked about German chocolate doughnut holes, they kinda snipped you looked at wrong location, No I didn't I clearly picked Terre Haute. Maybe staff should be aware of happening before snipping, doughnuts were good but a tad too sweet, the doughnut holes were good, but the after taste seriously made me have the taste and smell of eating play-doh! Spent the day eating something salty to rid of the aftertaste.

You better dang call first. And you better know they do cash only, and sometimes only sell pre ordered boxes. Walked up, said cash only, drove 2 minutes l, came back, sold out to walk ins, pre order only. They don?t answer to even ask if they are sold out. I?m just gonna stop wasting my life trying to feed the kids this place. I?m sure it?s amazing, but poor management. Please find a way to let people know before they wake up and drive 2:30 hours waiting to get some food from you.

The employees were very kind and quick to get my order out. What can I say they got the best doughnuts in town.

My daughter and spouse drove to Square Donuts this morning. The team said they were already sold out of the donuts people want most, and when asked what they did have they treated our family like dirt. Snippy and nasty. ?Square Donuts: a Terre Haute tradition.?

After my wife had been bragging about this place from her childhood & hometown for years, we happened to be in town & stopped in. We arrived at around 11:30a on Mother's day, and as it happens, they had almost run out and had only 11 donuts left. They were closing up, we took 5. After eating one right away in the car, I can see why she has loved this place forever. Their donuts are softer & more tender than that KK donut place and had a better flavor, without all the sugar to cover it up. If you've nev

You can?t beat their donuts. Hands down my favorite, but the way the business is ran can be extremely frustrating. They say they?re open until 3 pm but they?re constantly closed way earlier than that. Just went today and they were closed before 10:30. They also run out of donuts way too often. I keep going, so I gutless they?re doing something right, I just get extremely annoyed when I travel to the store and they?re closed or out of the original squares which happens an unusually high amount. It?s their bu

I love Square Donuts, but they only accept cash, no debit/credit!

Square donuts are the Best!! You have to get there early, or you will have to settle for jelly! Never any squares left after 9 a.m.

Picked up some glazed squares, long johns and cake donuts on Saturday morning. The glazed were good but the long johns and cakes tasted weird. Did they change their chocolate supplier? It's a shame because the long johns were my favorite ones.

Absolute MUST stop for donut lovers. Pretty unqiue square shape for many of the donuts. The maple/pecan/cream filled long john is easily one of the best classic donuts in the country in my mind.

This morning they were so busy. 2nd location closed due to power outages after a huge storm the day before. Donuts were so good. Employees are quick and friendly.

I was disappointed the day I went because they had to close early and had nothing but one sheet of cake donuts. But I still rate them a 5 because they are still the best donuts in the world, hands down.

Always the best. Yesterday stopped by for the square donuts, came out with a dozen of them. Also a dozen donut holes and we left with 2 caramel cream filled square rolls, those are my favorite. Always excellent food and very friendly.

I have been to this shop multiple times and usually go late in the morning to find that everything is gone. If you love filled donuts then your fine they always have plenty of them, but if you are looking for glazed, tractor tires, or cinnamon rolls after 11am your going to be disappointed.

These are the freshest, tastiest donuts I've ever tasted in my life. Amazing price, friendly, lots of flavors

These donuts are THE best, especially a plain glazed square when it is hot. Better than Krispy cream in that regard. They also have many filled, unfilled, cake, and specialty style donuts. It's a no frills place and ONLY takes cash.

I mean do I even need to say? Everyone in Terre Haute already knows they make the best Donuts on the planet. Just make sure you have cash because they only accept cash no credit or debit.

Great donuts, reasonably priced

Always smiling, friendly people, promptly serving the freshest, donuts possible....so good, you'd swear they should be classified as a controlled substance....but until then, it's our Sunday family tradition. Indulge and enjoy but remember, friends don't let friends eat just one...please eat responsibly!! .........Lol
