Went for a Saturday late night cocktail and to hear some music, on the recommendation of a different bartender elsewhere in town. Did not expect to find a selection of excellent coffee-based cocktails and *two* separate music spaces, each with a different dj spinning chill house EDM. The space is really unusual and fun, the service was great, and the music was killer. They spent some money on quality sound equipment in both spaces, and the result is that it was full volume without being oppressively loud. I

One of the best espresso martini?s in Detroit. I?ve only ever come here for their alcoholic drinks, but I?ve heard their regular coffee/lattes are amazing. Bartenders are always super friendly and quick. Not a lot of seating inside and can really fill up as the night goes on, I recommend getting here earlier in the night. Almost all of the drinks are coffe/espresso, but always very good.

Their coffee and alcoholic drinks are unmatched!! They are so creative with classics like old fashioneds and the El Duderino is one of my favorite drinks ever. Bartenders really know what they are doing. Not to mention, I left my purse here on accident one night and they grabbed it and kept it safe for me till I could get it the next day!! I know that everyone says that they are mean to you here, but honestly, the staff could not have been nicer. Super small space. Think of the smallest cafe you have been to in NYC, then cut it in half. There is an even smaller area upstairs, that has a DJ rig and some good street views. Decided to stop by this morning for two hot green fairy lattes which were delicious! Very tasty and not foamy at all. Definitely will be craving it again later. This is a spot. Every detail feels intentional. From the DJ booth to the stacking fiberglass chairs. The space can feel tight initially, but a few sips into your coffee watching the city wake up on a weekend and it all comes together. My barista was knowledge and a skilled, my drink was perfect, the whole experience was one I hope to repeat as often as possible. ...And I'm very much looking forward to seeing the other half of the experience after the sun goes down.

Wildcard. What do you call a cafe cocktail bar that is only slightly bigger than a breadbox? Spkrbox is so small that they had to remove some letters from the name so it would fit the location. Great location too in Capital Park where all the cool places are. I think my favorite thing was the view from the upstairs where you can people watch all day.

This place is definitely a gem! The atmosphere feels very cool. I came here for coffee and it was great, the bartender barista was very sweet, and her playlist was fire. Anyways I?ll have to come back here at night sometime to check out that aspect.

The vibe was nice; the DJ was playing house beats. The place itself is cozy and cute. However, our drinks were the wrong order and it made my stomach hurt. Day update - Went back during the day and the vibes were off the chart. Would like to hang out here and drink coffee to music. Will have to gave the night 'techno club' another shot one day. Really great staff who makes customers feel at home. Yummy drinks. I love the bar/coffee shop concept. if you're gonna go on a coffeeshop date, this is the place. Sometimes the music is loud, so don't bank on getting work done here. It's touch and go. But there is outlets and wifi.

My experience with Spkrbox was pretty chill my barista seemed very chill and made a lovely matcha latte that I would recommend and definitely would get again. The music was a bit strange at first and could be more relaxing for those trying to work and concentrate. Someone came and had an amazing playlist beautiful mixes very upbeat house music but otherwise had a great experience would definitely come back for the drinks and music.

This place is a cult Detroit cafe with amazing coffee and live DJs playing old school techno. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

They have great coffee and drinks, to your surprise when the lights go out they have a speak easy underneath for the techno and house heads.
