Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge, Bakery

Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge, Bakery

Reviews Summary

Spicer's Orchard receives mixed but generally positive feedback, with many praising its family-friendly atmosphere, variety of activities (hayrides, petting zoo, u-pick fruits), and delicious donuts/cider. The winery and tasting room are highlights for adults. However, some criticize high prices, overcrowding on weekends, and inconsistent quality (e.g., lukewarm donuts, overpriced fruit). Negative reviews mention disappointment with berry picking and additional fees for attractions. Most agree it's a fun seasonal destination, especially in fall, though better suited for those seeking a bustling agritourism experience rather than a quiet farm visit.

Stopped by for tart cherries picking. Didn't have time for anything else due to early closing time in my opinion, 7 pm. But it's what it is, owner knows best. Make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if you are here on a sunny day for berry picking. Store is amazing too, lots of goodies or tasty items to choose from! The best farm in the area!

I had such a fantastic experience at this apple orchard! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The prices are very reasonable ? much better than other orchards I've been to. Whether you're picking your own apples or buying them from their market, you definitely get great value for your money. They do a wristband system for pick your own,

DISAPPOINTING AND RUDE STAFF Prices are kind of high on a bunch of stuff, especially their fresh baked apples. They want $18.95 for a small bag. Not a 5 lb bag or anything like that. Like a 2 lb bag of apples so that's a first turn off Very overpriced on everything We get to the donuts and the donuts smell really good. They look really good. They're fairly priced-ish. I will say just for a very small strawberry donut you know $6 for a half dozen 1295 for a dozen. Something like that. The donuts do not have

Don't waste your time at spicers for raspberries or strawberries. Unless you want maybe 15 raspberries if that and pay $6 for them after they claim (from 5 year old pictures) that raspberries are ready for picking. Also strawberry picking is not fantastic but thankfully that's by weight , for insect eaten mushy strawberries. At this point, they need to be warning people that its not great instead of gladly charging $5 a person for a wristband just to get on the wagon, first person free..... to pick nothing.

This was a great place to meet up with family members. We paid for our wristbands and got our bags to take out to the Apple orchard. The hayride to get to the apples was nice. You could get off and stop at different areas of the orchard to get different types of apples. There were also raspberries available. With the wristbands from the apple picking we were able to access the animal area and the playground area too. The gift shop was really nice and the cider and donuts are delicious.

I?ve been coming here since I was a child. I bring my kids here every year when we come to Michigan to visit family. We went today and my kids wanted to see the animals?. So I asked about that. Apparently, it cost $5/person to look at the animals. You?d think that it would be free with the $50 I spent in their fruit stand and the $20 I spent buying a 4 pack of spiked cider?.. just kind of disappointed from a mom of three kids!

I used to come here all the time as a kid for apples, doughnuts and cider. This year I brought my daughter for u-pick strawberries! They are sweet and perfect for jam making! Can?t wait to come back!

This is a five star family experience! However the donuts and cider were not very tasty. The cider was sour, bland, and not rich. And the donuts were very oily. Also the donut line was not well optimized. We asked for some pumpkin donuts and did not receive them, even though the cashier came back three times. Come here for an amazing atmosphere and lots of things to do but skip the donuts and cider.

We stopped here because of the good reviews and all it showed they had to offer. They have a winery that has great drinks and service! They also had a ton of stands set up where you could get hot food and snacks. They had lots for adults and kids, making it perfect for families. I have been to a lot of orchards, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Cant wait for my favorite time of the year to come back around!

What a pretty place to be! Other pluses include great suggestions, perfectly dry sparkling white wine, and maybe even John Fogerty ??

Spicers does things right. Donuts and Cider are delicious. All kinds of activities and different food options on the weekends. Not very busy during the week and a lot of things are not open. So many different options of snacks and more inside the barn. You can ride on the hey ride and pick your own pumpkin out at the patch. Overall a great experience. Lots of parking and not a lot of waiting to purchase anything. Would definitely be back when I'm looking for a good Donut and Cider spot.

Popular Fall favorite. This place can be very busy on weekends. Plenty to do to keep the kids entertained and full of sugar. Must try the cider and cider apple donuts. There are wagon hay rides that can take you to pick apples and several kid carnival style games. If it is a great weather Fall weekend be prepared to search for parking and then walking to get to the Orchard. They also have a winery that does serve some appetizers and sandwiches on certain days, check before you go.

Such a nice farm. They had a nice pumpkin patch, corn maze, and other attractions. It was $15 for the entry on the hay ride that included a donut and cider

This trip was amazing. Took my granddaughters, (all except one because she was at a wedding) market and had so much fun. We did Ziplining, 2 wipeout bounce houses, train ride, and the maze. The corn dogs were huge, the elephant was amazing, the cinnamon donuts melts in your mouth and the apple cider was so delicious! There were other venues we couldn't go too because the lines were way too long and I was walking on a cane and my knees started hurting. So we had to get my other 1 year old granddaughter a pu

The ciders and wines are excellent and high quality. The ciders are smooth with a wide variety of flavors. The wines are very tasty especially the Honey White. The staff are friendly and helpful. A gift shop is also on property where they offer treats and specialty gifts. Highly recommend visiting and tasting a half wine flight or a full flight in the tasting room. ??

We have been coming here for 3 years now and my husband?s family for even longer than that. This year we tried the apple picking and brought our baby to see the animals and playground. They have so many things to do, see and also my favorite, to eat. If you come here, don?t forget to get a hot apple cider and the donuts. My favorite is the powdered sugar ones. They have a cute store and a restaurant. I totally recommend this place and will be coming back for sure.

Just ok The strawberries are good, but there were just too many expenses and lines that go along with it. Thought it would be fun to take the kids berry picking - I have a lot of fun memories of berry picking on the east side growing up & we?ve only been picking at Rowes. Unfortunately Rowes was not offerring more picking today so we tried Spicers. Had to pay $5/person to pick, plus pay for the container, plus pay nearly $4/lb of berries. I spent $45 today just to pick! The lines are wonky and there was lot

2023 Still a good place to visit. They did move the food trucks. More parking for everyone. They even added live music. Not so many people because of Covid19. Still a decent amount of people. The atmosphere is still the same. I should add, the play area for the kids is only $2. A lot cheaper than Blake's. Both, Blake's and Spicers have really outdone themselves. Great job to both places for bringing meaning to "Cider Mill" or "Apple orchard". Highly recommended 2016 Going to many cider mills, I was n

We came to pick apples and enjoyed the day! You pay in advance for your apple bags and then wait for the tractor wagon to pick you up and take you to the orchard. The wait wasn't long. The shoppe had a lot of things inside, including the fresh fruit, but also jams and jellies, popcorn, ice cream, donuts, cider and more. there is a play area outside that I did not see anyone at, I wonder if it is only open on the weekends. We did not pay for an admission fee. My family also enjoyed the donuts. There is al

Everything you could possibly ask for and more! Went in the off-season and cider, and donuts are still delicious! They have many bad b cue and other sauces, jams, jellies, syrup, fudge (MANY) flavors, ice cream, pop corn, cookies t- shirts, wind chimes, knick-knacks for collectors. Let's not talk about the winery! Great mixture, great options of wine and cocktails! They also have limited appetizers. When I say acres and acres! Brambles, apples, cherries, honey... can't wait until the season comes!

Absolutely amazing! Best cider mill I've ever been to. The doughnuts were so fresh, soft, and yet crisp. The cider was deliciously sweet. And, they have so many attractions to keep the kids entertained! We hope to come back and test a flight at the winery next time.

We stopped here today on our Mystery Tour through Beyond Horizons. Even though the place was very busy, the staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the apple fritters. And, yes I did feed the goats.

The donuts inside are we're good. They had a really nice play place for the kids to play. For some of the rides you need to purchase tickets. They had some farm animals. There was a train ride that took you around the orchard. They do take credit cards. The cider and donut line moved extremely fast!

A family run farm with a market and winery that is open year round. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was not too crowded. You pay 3.00 a person to pick. They take you by wagon to the orchards. When you are done picking, they weigh your container and you pay for your berries. We picked a pint of raspberries and a container of blueberries. They also have a sunflower field that you cut your own sunflowers..$10 for 5. Next up will be peaches in August. Apple picking is the most popular but they do sell fr

I absolutely love Spicers! They always have different things you can do throughout the different seasons. Picking strawberries this year was really fun, and I cannot wait until spring and summer again, so we can go pick some more different fruits! Their website is very helpful too, and let's you know what's going on. They also have a big store, and delicious wine! I've had so many great experiences at Spicers! Oh and their fresh donuts are amazing too.

Spicers has my heart. I will alwayssss come here. There is lots to do while not being ?over done.? Good ol classic orchard feeling. I live just a few minutes away & love to being my kids to run around the play area & see all of the animals any chance we get. We come during the week a lot. One time a worker even gave us an entire bag of donuts to treat the animals with! The shop is also great, they?ve always got a good variety of goodies to choose from! From the animals, all of the extras, the orchard, the o

You could spend a whole day here!!! There's so much to see (gifts/store), Fresh donuts, cookies, pies and ice cream that tastes homemade. Apple cider slushies, Apple cider, spiked Apple cider, an onsite winery that serves wonderful lunches, even on site Strawberry picking; Which of course means you can purchase your own hand picked flats!!! Do note this is a popular spot for school field trips as well. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. The one thing I do know is I would love to plan to go back and soon!

We went to the train ride and cabin and it was awesome. Going into the cabin to see Santa one on one made things a lot easier for our little, to give him alittle time to adjust and not get overwhelmed, and the train ride was nice for him to be able enjoy the ride and look around. I definitely recommend going and taking bc the kids. After everything, you get hot chocolate or cider and a donut.

Stopped in while driving by today, and so glad we did!!! The cider was amazing, and that Ice Wine is delicious!!! Steve answered our many questions in the tasting room.... that guy should get a raise! The little bakery and shop is filled with goodies. I can't wait to go back.

Great place for the whole family!!! Lots to do, yummy donuts, apple cider, hay rides, wine tasting room, bee hives, goats, a corn maze, and sooo much more. They even have gluten & dairy free donuts too!! We enjoyed the donuts, cider, and beautiful fall weather.

This place used to be wonderful. Now everything is wildly expensive, you have to pay to pick and pay for the fruit. It?s pretty ridiculous. I?ve been bringing my kiddo here for years since she was born and we won?t be back. Go back to the old spicers we all know and love.

Amazing place! We?ve come every year! Food is great, fun rides, and petting zoo. Great for kids of all ages.

My first time. Great cider and warm fresh donuts! They also sell fudge, honey, fruits and ice cream!! As well as other gift shop items. They do have farm animals to feed(50 cent), a playground for children ($2 fee per child if attended, when we walked through nobody was taking fees) the hay ride takes you to the picking fields.. apples peaches raspberries whatever is still in season. Friendly knowledgeable staff, will be back for sure.

We did the corn maze and loved it. It's not easy! Then a wine tasting and the store. Going back another time to try the ice cream flight, yes that's a thing. 5 ice cream samples for 8.50. If you have children, there's lots for them too - small petting zoo, playground equipment, donuts and cider, wagon rides, and life size checkers. Definitely recommend.

Spicers was such a fun day out! They had so many animals, a great playground area, wonderful store with some of the best donuts and surprisingly amazing cookies! The hay ride was so fun and the driver did a great job of describing the apple ?? orchard lay out. They have different kinds of apples and had multiple stops for getting off to pick off different fields. The staff was all so kind and helpful with everything. I appreciated all the hand washing stations and sanitizer bottles placed through out the f

First time visiting this place with the 20mo old. She loved the play area, the animals, and the doughnuts. We recommend going here if you have some little ones. Definitely try picking your own fruits from the orchards but buy some sweets and local gifts from the country store.

This place is like a wonderland both for my kid and myself. This place is very big in terms of farm product selection. The best part of all is the upick options for different fruits thru out the season. The kids playground offers so many different options and also farm animals for you to feed! Donuts and cider slushy were delicious!!! Love this place and will be back for sure!

Great place to bring kids for u pick.we had good fun picking raspberries and blueberries. There's a wagon that will take you to the farm from the parking lot. Buckets costs 1.50 each.

CUSTOMER BEWARE: the fudge was COVERED in mold. I?m making this for something that happened on 10/24/23. The one star is for the moldy fudge, employee and how she handled this problem. Our family has been going to Spicer?s since I was a little girl, and it?s always been a good experience before* This was our first time going this season and we got the ?Buy 2, Get 1 Free? fudge. We got the Pumpkin Toffee, Peanut Caramel Apple Pie, and the Heath. We end outside and ate our fresh doughnuts (always good!) an

Your #1 spot for fruits, baked goods and homemade everything! Pick yourself some great fruits all year long from cherries, blueberries, to a wide variety of apples! Local honey and wine is also available, plus homemade cider, donuts, wine and more!

Lovely owners! Created a safe and inclusive holiday experience ??? I greatly appreciate their going above and beyond so medically high risk individuals can safely enjoy a Santa visit. Santa even gave us his autograph ?? will visit again!

This is a more robust cider mill, complete with a cornmaze, hayrides, pumpkin patch, huge gift shop, winery, food, playground, and more. You can have a nice family outing here, it's not just donuts and cider. Free parking, plenty of porter potties, great donuts.

This is the greatest cider mill I've ever been to. Their donuts and live music are amazing. Excellent corn and hotdog stands. Great popcorn. Beautiful orchards. Their mango cider is the best around.

Bartender was fabulous. Meat and cheese platter was a nice complement to wine tasting. Lots of variety and good options for the wine/cider tasting. Overall great experience in the winery. Orchard is always a family favorite with hay ride and pick your own fruit.

Great time with family! Kid's Activities, petting zoo, live music, apple picking, berry picking, fudge, syrup, honey, ice cream, popcorn, pumpkin picking, hay rides, corn maze, donuts, cider, I am sure other things I missed and the staff is friendly! It can get pretty crowded which makes sense because it is a fun time. Only complaint I have is that pumpkin picking is not easy in the field. My son picked a pumpkin too big for him to carry and everyone had pumpkins. Taking the tractor and hay ride was full a

Such nice people. A peaceful setting and quiet atmosphere. Wonderful store too. I loaded up some fresh tomatoes and peaches. Plus fresh donuts too and kettle corn and picked fresh blueberries.

Went wine tasting yesterday afternoon, Monica and the rest of the staff were amazing. Everyone is friendly and you can tell they really enjoy their job. The Market is clean and well organized. We spent way too much money in both the winery and the market! Definitely the perfect summer day!

We love coming here picking berries and other fruit. They also have the best kettle corn and donuts. Personal highlight for me is wine tasting at their winery, which is open year around.

We sat on the winery deck and enjoyed delicious cherry wine before picking some cherries of our own and having a picnic. Such a fun experience!

Best donuts and cider I have tried to this day. I have been to many cider mills across Michigan and none of them compare to Spicer?s. I love going here with my family every year in the fall. In August, they have a huge sunflower patch that is gorgeous.

There is really nothing more quintessential for a fall in Michigan than a trip to a Cider Mill for hot cider and donuts. Opinions will certainly vary on who makes the best of these and for my money Spicers is it. An ever expanding family affair Spicers has something for everyone. From tractor pulled rides out to their fields in order form you to harvest your own crop to a petting zoo all the way to its own wine tasting room, Spicers delivers. Open year round it?s always worth a visit where you can choose to

Great spot for warm donuts, cider and other great treats. Though apple picking is available, prices do seem overly inflated (see pic). So does the $10/person corn maze. Thankfully, a petting farm and kids' play area are a low cost and fun way to enjoy the evening. Donuts ($8 for 6) ($12 for 12) are reasonably priced. Keep in mind, last apple picking ride is at 5:15pm. Would visit again.

I wasn?t expecting a farm shop in MI to have vegan and gluten free options, but they had doughnuts that were both vegan and gluten free and they were some of the best I have ever had!

We tried Spicers after many years of going to a different orchard.. Spicers has a lot of variety and fun things for everyone. The have a small store with a bunch of different options. They have a winery where you can try a flight. However the donuts were barely warm, and the price for apples was ridiculous. The apple cider is okay, we definitely prefer our favorite orchards more. The wines were hit or miss. The peach sparkling wine was a favorite among all of us though. We did like the fudge variety and bou

Such a cozy, and amazingly rustic orchard/winery! The staff is friendly, the cider and donuts is to die for, and the activities are so mush fun. An incredible spot for kids and adults alike!

We came here without realizing that they were out of season BUT regardless had a great time with the family! Picked the very last apples on the trees and even the animals had a good time. :)

Absolutely a wonderful place for the whole family! The maze is definitely worth the visit alone. They have different stations set up so it's like a scavenger hunt in the corn maze. The pumpkin patch and the apples are so much fun to go through. The children's play area has a ton of activities for the children to do. The wine in the winery is top-notch, I usually buy a case every time I go up! Absolutely a wonderful farm stand, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great family day trip!

As a photographer there are so many incredible photo locations at Spicers! These were all taken during my Santa cabin sessions! They have a magic Christmas train and a Santa at the cabin starting at Thanksgiving! There cider, donuts and market are a 5 star ?????????? hands down!

Great experience with picking blueberries! We came at the peak of the season and when we arrived they had just opened up picking for late raspberries which was awesome. Lots and lots of available berries to pick for a reasonable price. The market inside where you checkout has a lot of local products to chose from as well. Can't wait to come back in the fall for pumpkins and apples!

Had a great time! Highly recommend for picking apples and other fruit. Donuts and Cedar were delicious.

Family fun at it's best. We picked the perfect day to go... Mid week and still it was hopping. Have lunch and some wine at the winery ??. Pick pumpkins and apples fresh off the farm. Get lost in the corn maze or just ride the hay tractor and watch the kids have fun.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, pricey, but that's the standard with mom & pop joints. They have u-pick strawberries and offer Wagon rides out to the field, which is novelty. Pretty wine/cider house. Easy and quick access from 23. Would love to go again in autumn.

We loved the u picking experience!!! There were blueberries, raspberries and apples to pick from the farm, can definitely spend a day with kids as there are animal farms too..

Family friendly place with animals for the kids to feed. Winery with tasting if you like that. Donuts, ok but not as good as Parshallville's

This is the best place to get Cider and Donuts for the workplace. The process of ordering ahead of time and having everything pre-packaged is fantastic. This is our second year going with Spicers, and we hope to continue to come back each year. Thank you so much for everything you and your team do!

Amazing farm! Definitely worth the drive out there for the incredible produce, u-pick fruits, and play area for kids. Cannot wait to return for apple season!

Go for the expensive farm vibes not the apples. 45 minute line to buy a ticket to pick apples at 52$ a bushel. Pre picked apples are the same price here, and half this cost at other orchards. I asked if I could buy a bag and walk to the orchard so I didnt have to wait in line and they said "no only way to get out there is to buy a ride"

Took the family to see Santa Claus on the train. It was such a wonderful experience for the children. Most friendliest workers. And organization was fabulous. Family tradition starts this year.

Thank you to the wonderful patient and helpfully informative ladies in the winery this afternoon and tnhank you to the farm animals for being so great too??the orchard now has their own craft beer and the honey wine and the cherry wine are very delicious!

Unless it's the weekend, there's not much to do unless you bring family or kids for the apple picking, seeing the animals, or playing at the kids play area, since a lot of services seem closed till weekends. Aside from activities, THIS is THE place where I will always pick up my cider, freshly made donuts with a variety of choices, and a wide variety of flavors from pies to apples and jams. They've even got a winery with some local flavors! My partner and I visit often. Great place for a market of cider g

Went for peach (Red Haven) picking over the weekend: one bag (was told that this can fit around 10 lb ) for $20, two bags (half bushel) for $28.

Such a fun place! Everyone is so nice and helpful. There are tons of you-pick options, as well as the winery and shop that is full of apples, popcorn, cider, donuts, fudge, jams, sauces, breads, pies, etc. This is a must-stop for everything fall! Weekends get crazy busy, be patient!

We loved our time at Spicer's! There's a ton of things to do and explore. The donuts were hot, and they had plenty of an assortment. Not to mention all the other goodies in the store.

We?ve been going here for years? we love picking our own apples. We were disappointed to see that we had to purchase a bracelet to pick apples this year. We were told these bracelets included the corn maze among various other attractions. This was not the case. When we went to the corn maze we were told the bracelets made the cost $10 instead of $15. Bummed? keeping a simple family orchard outing SIMPLE would have been much appreciated, like it was in the past. Cider and donuts were amazing as always and

My grandkids, their parents & i have always enjoyed our experiences here! Great kids play area with lots to do, including petting & feeding animals. Have also enjoyed the Santa event. The apples are expensive but trees, walk areas & wagons are well maintained. Pies & pumpkin donuts are delicious.

Wow what a great farm packed full of activities. Spicers 100% does it right in every single aspect of what they do, there we?re so many things to do and see that honestly we didn?t get to them all, and we were there for a few hours. There were vendors with food and crafts and there was a petting zoo area hayrides apples to pick, a store, winery, as well as the donuts and cider and probably some things I?m not thinking of, like raspberry picking and more. Back to the donuts and cider, I?m not exaggerating n

Great cider mill. Nice playground for kids, farm animals, and hayrides, and winery. They also have a very cool "train" ride to meet Santa at his cabin in the woods for Christmas. Can get very crowded with long lines but usually move fast. Plenty of Parking in a grass field.

I love the doughnuts and cider here!!! Unfortunately they increased the price of the play area to $5 per person.. Doubling the cost of our experience. We will just have to come less often and make it more special.

This place was so nice! Donuts are amazing! Corn maze so fun and challenging. Staff was very friendly!

The orchard was awesome! Picked up some salsa and some other goodies from their store. A bit expensive, but I have no doubt it?ll be some of the best I?ve had! We also got a couple of pumpkins from the pumpkin patch and rode the hay ride. They also have some food trucks and stuff parked outside and some other fun things to do.

Raspberry picking was great. Call ahead for details on availability. Spicer's is a tradition and their animals are sure to delight little ones.

This is an agritourism orchard/farm. If you're looking for a more low-key experience this would not be the choice for you. I am just writing this here so if someone is checking reviews based on if it's more of a ma and pa type place/less busy/less people/expensive..etc this is not the place again. I personally felt overwhelmed with the amount of people here/the amount of people that are packed onto the hayrides was overwhelming also. The farm itself is amazing no doubt. The people are amazing no doubt. The

I brought my students who have special needs here today for a field trip. We had about 60 people in our party including several wheel chairs that needed to ride on the wagons. I was blown away at how kind and helpful Ryan and crew were. They let our students get on and off at every stop and that meant getting out the wheelchair lift. We had a wonderful time. We come every year and will continue to do so. Thank you Spicer family for being so wonderful!

Best strawberries, cherries and raspberries. Had a great time last year. Can't wait to go this summer

Family tradition! Kids absolutely love this place. Lots of activities. Hay rides, corn maze, pumpkin patch and most important, fresh cider and donuts!

It was over cast the day we went. Anytime it would start to rain a member of the staff would drive by and ask if we wanted a ride back from the berry patch to get out of the rain. Very friendly staff. Great place to bring kids. Don't forget to stop by there wine bar ;)

We took my in-laws who were visiting from out of state apple picking this past weekend and had a wonderful time. There was clear signage throughout both the entrance area, and the fields themselves. We will definitely be coming back again in the future.

There are lots of great orchards and cider mills in Southeast Michigan and this one could be the best. Just went this past weekend and it was everything you want in a cider mill/orchard experience. But honestly, I?m here to write about the donuts? haha. They have the best cider mill donuts! Warm, soft, and crispy all at once. Amazing. I wish they were closer to me because I think they have the best cider mill donuts around!
