I avoid this place, despite its convenient location to my home. Only went twice and the service was terrible. I once went in for three donuts and the lady rolled her eyes. I brushed it off instead of returning that negative energy. I smiled, said thank you, and left a cash tip. No gratitude whatsoever. She remained very cold and unwelcoming for all the 30 seconds it took service me. I?m four days late on this review but it?s been on my mind to write it. I have made a conscience decision to stop buying donuts from Southshore Donuts. Not because of the donuts because I love their donuts, I skip over Tara Ln donuts and drive farther away to purchase theirs but because of the attitudes the cashiers have. You walk in and they just stare at you. No good morning, no smile, and service is always rude and silly me I still tip them. I truly care not to go in there anymore. I will miss Southshore

Donuts were good, but dont advertise 24 hours if you dont offer everything. I live close to here and never tried it. I was hoping to get some mini burgers and donuts, but when i walked i i got greeted in an unfriendly manner and the person looked at me and said "no cooking". Shrimp plate was BANGING! We went just after 7pm and had to wait a bit for our food but it was worth it. They still had a good selection of donuts as well. When we looked for a place to pick up dinner we saw this place had decent reviews from locals, but the menu was from 2007. Wanted to upload the 2023 version to show prices haven't gone up much and you still get alot of food for your money.

Accessing this using the Good Star method is hard . My husband and I really like this place, the donuts and food both are Very good,, the man who makes the donuts does a great job, you can tell her takes pride it doing so, not to mention he's gotta great personality, funny, never had an issue with my aggravating special requests,lol.. This place was the spot! Wonderful service! We got there at shift change and she was so nice and polite! The donuts were absolutely wonderful and the kings cake was divine!

Some of the best old fashioned donut and cream donut I have ever ate. It was light and fluffy and not overly sweeten. Damn, this place hits the spot.

The ladies behind the counter were friendly. The donuts and pastries looked delicious. We had the apple fritter. (It was huge)! We also got the cinnamon rolls. Huge!! Great tasting. Well worth the drive.

It was my first time trying this place and let me tell you the donuts were delicious. But, the service needs to be way better. I waited almost 15 minutes to be served and to be asked what I wanted while the employee was in the back fixing another person's order. Other than that the donuts were great but they need to hire more people for better quality service.

Business had zero customers at time of my arrival. Only one female worker present at front counter visible. I have lived in NOLA East and this was the 1st time. The atmosphere is a down home fill. It is a eat in dinner option. The selection of donuts ?? is very good and they are fresh. They offer day old bags of donuts at a reduced price.

This place of business doesn?t deserve a star ??, I only chose one so that I could leave a review. The staff have no telephone etiquette at all. And each time I?ve called to place a order for the Cook, I?m told that the Cook will come in at 2:00 pm. Today, I waited an hour, call back a lil after 2:00pm and was told that the chef may come in, in about another half hour. THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD NOT TO CONTINUE TO OCCUR. Whomever answered the phone ?? hung up in my face.

When I called to place an order the woman that answered had a very nasty attitude. Nasty enough for me not to place my order for fear she would do something to it. Now I admit it was late..about 1:30 in the morning,but from my understanding the place AND grill was open 24hrs. I was a new customer and I was referred by another customer who said that the food there was good,and with this being my first encounter I would not eat there.

A shop with a diner feel to it. It has counter seating and 2-3 table seating. It also has 1-3 gambling machines off to one side behind a curtain. Usually has a few bags of day old donuts available in the early AM. Fancy donuts are quite large compared to other places I buy donuts. This place has a nice variety of donuts to buy. South shore Donuts takes me back to every true neighborhood coffee shop in every city I ever been in. That's a very good thing. Phenomenal breakfast. delicious donuts, I was speechless by far better than any Dunkin' donuts and Krispy kremes. Waitresses and cashier was very nice attentive and they work that line super fast if you're in the area of Louisiana New Orleans I highly recommend you to drive on by and get you some donuts some cinnamon rolls and a breakfast platter you will not I repeat you will not be disappointed.

Southshore Donuts has a wide variety of confections that should satisfy any sweet tooth. The cake donuts are top shelf! The blueberry cake donut is wonderful! The apple fritters are deep fried to perfection! Then there's food like fish plates to satisfy a real hunger. The staff is cordial and accommodating. Well worth the trip!

Great, non-greasy breakfast sandwiches. The 5 stars is for the food only. You may hear some off-color remarks from a couple of obnoxious regulars sitting at the wraparound bar, but that normally only happens if the news on the wall tv gets them going. Even so, this place is too good to pass up.

This classic New Orleans East diner provides some of the best donuts in the city, which are always served warm every morning. I've usually ordered the glazed donuts, which taste like they have a touch of vanilla in them - a personal favorite. They also have cheap breakfast and lunch options, plus they are usually 24/7 so it's the only other overnight breakfast option in the east other than the chains.

Very bad experience ordering food over the phone. Place me on hold for over 20 mins. So live around the corner from the shop. And I was still on hold when I arrived to the shop. When I walked in the shop it was very slow only had two people seating and eating and they was almost done eating their meal. If you like hot and fresh donuts, then this is the place for you! The parking leaves a little to be desired, but if it wasnt crowded then how else could you measure that it is good! This is my family's favorite ?? shop!!! Whenever the kids want ??s this is the place!! Even before we hit the highway to leave town, we stop by for 2 dozens!! One dozen of ?? I hate this place with a passion. I can call multiple different mornings to place an order, get there and the cook never received the order, now I have to either go to work hungry or risk being late and wait. OR, I'm placed on hold and forgotten about. I only go there because its close by and easily accessible on my commute to work. But if there was someplace else open or better, I'll definitely NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

It's definitely been close to 20 years since I've been here. I think it was still called Tastee's. The food take a while to make. My brother called the order in when we were passing St. Bernard and we still had to wait about 15 min once we got here. The hot sausage was really good though. Not many 24hr joints in the east. I forgot about this one.

The MORNING SHIFT is amazing!! Donuts are extremely fresh so fresh they melt in your hands as you break them apart ??. The price is always right at this establishment!! I'm not gonna recommend the evening shift.

They never answer the phone! I work overnight at a big company and is always trying to get my employees some donuts (20 dozen should be enough) but I always have to go in and they can never take my order always tell me I have to call ahead but I call almost every Friday but no answer ever!

Poor customer service. Apparently so bad that my postmates delivery driver left and cancelled the order because he was being ignored. They didn't have any of the items listed on their menu available at 7am during peak breakfast time. They were unwilling to substitute the items they didn't have with items of equal value. VERY POOR SERVICE!
