What I noticed about this Albany Park establishment, is that it?s a neghborhood staple. Many people come in here weekly with their families, prior to starting their Saturday festivities. First thing you notice is that their offerings are unique to the owner?s heritage. Matcha and ube (purple yam) filled bismark donuts are a specialty. But even their regular donuts are very good!! This is a big winner, but there are some places that I feel are just as good if not slightly better. That?s not to say that

Donuts are tasty enough (nothing spectacular but will satisfy your craving) but the price will keep me from returning. $24 for six donuts is just too much anywhere, but especially given how small these are. This does include specialty donuts, but like half of their donuts are "specialty" and they aren't really that much bigger or more complex than their regular donuts, so the price differential is a bit too much in my opinion. $15 for half a dozen of their basic donuts is still at the high end for donuts al

Great donut and iced latte selection. Loved the pride donuts during pride month! And the cutest family runs this shop- and takes great pride in it. Looking forward to trying those churro donuts next!

They have the best donuts in town! The staff is so kind and friendly here so if you feel like they aren't being nice to you, look inward because the only explanation in that instance is that you are a jerk. In addition to the donuts (which are all great!) I recommend trying 'somethin' savory' like a spinach and feta croissant as well! They hit the spot. The best donuts in my opinion are the Matcha Filled and the Apple Fritter. The coffee here is from the world famous (at least around the neighborhood) Br

After my eye check-ip across the street, I stopped by to get coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to see ube donut . I of coutse had to get it as well as raspberry bismark, chocolate frosted bavarian cream and leek and parmesan pastry. They were all delicious, dough was soft and pillowy, the filling is not overly sweet. BTW, they have matcha-filled donuts as well for the matchaddicts. Even the leek parmesan pastry is on point. The coffee, big shoulders, I later learned is also a Chicago-local brand. It's deep

First time visiting this place, they have a good portion of options for donuts- as much as I wanted to try all of them, I chose to try the matcha filled one and blubbery filled. My fav was the blueberry bismark donut! Shop small and support small businesses like Somethin? Sweet Donuts! Definitely check them out if you haven?t!

Oh man! You can tell this is really homemade! The employee told us it was family owned and gave us some recommendations for great Chicago places to check out. The donuts are great quality and so yummy! Pillow soft (I'd sleep on them!) I got this Ube donut (purple sweet potato), cold brew, and a hot mocha latte. We plan to come every morning for coffee while we're here!

Awesome! My wife and I just moved into the area and were told to check them out. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and ambience. They have a solid variety of options and flavors. We love the balance in flavor and sweet. Not to rich or overpowering. Must check out if you have not yet.

All the warmth and love of a family owned business that is dedicated to their craft. The raspberry bismark was the best filled donut I've ever had and I came back to this place multiple times just for it. It isn't just the donuts either, what's a donut without coffee, and the Mocha enjoyed was exceptional. Not the experience, I expect to get from a bake first location. Along with the execellent food and drink the hospitality is unmatched. By my third visit, I was already "welcomed back". 10/10 would recomme

It was my first time going here and lemme tell ya- there are a LOT of yummy unique flavors!!! Everyone was super chill and helpful. I bought the Maple Bacon Long John, Strawberry Frosted, Chocolate Oreo, and Apple Cinnamon. The Maple Bacon was an experience- a lovely one at that!

I ordered a dozen donuts for a coworker's birthday and they were a total hit! I was so impressed by how efficient, friendly, and professional everyone was, and the donuts were delicious! I'm looking forward to ordering from Somethin' Sweet again, truly an Albany Park gem!

Delicious donuts and coffee! Friendly staff. Always a treat to get somethin? sweet!

We're so grateful this place exists. Our kids have nut and seed allergies, and most bakeries are the stuff of nightmares for us. We love donuts and it's wonderful to enjoy without fear. They're so darn delicious too!

Great place, just a shame that it's so much more expensive than the major chains nearby. I really want to support it more, but when you're paying over $2 more for the same drink you can get at the Starbucks it's hard.

Found this place because it was the nearest local shop that came up when we searched for donuts on Google. Incredible donuts. Classic glazed is so flavorful it is a standout on its own. The matcha and ube filled donuts had verrrrry subtle flavors, but very good. The Bavarian cream was incredible. Great spot!

Should've gone to Dunkin'. It's fine. Not like the donuts are bad, just overpriced and average tasting. Wouldn't go again unless they made the fricken things bigger or cheaper and better.

Somethin' Sweet is incredible. I've been about a dozen times in the past few weeks, and their donuts, pastries, and coffee are consistently some of the best I've ever had. Seriously, their donuts are INSANE. The basic glazed, every one, is like a magazine cover model of a donut. Fluffy and round and tasty. The Platonic ideal of "donut." I'm not usually a cake donut guy, but their red velvet is award-winning and deserves it. That said, the cinnamon crumb is my favorite.

We love Somethin' Sweet! Their doughnuts are really good, and their specialty flavors (e.g. matcha and ube) are delicious and it's great to have options that are different than the usual chocolate/vanilla, etc. (though I love these flavors as well). I wanted to especially write a review about their awesome customer service. We put in a pre-order for our kiddo's birthday, and the day before the party my husband and I were sick and realized we needed to reschedule the party. I reached out to Somethin' Sweet

SO yummy! Definitely will be back.

Definitely worth stopping at! Our favorite donuts are the fruity pebbles, apple fritter, and strawberry frosted. You also get a student ID discount!

Absolute gem in the neighborhood. I love the peoole and donuts here and could not be more pumped about it every time I get to come - the Ube ones are especially slammin' & every other one I've tried has blown me away too. It has even become our Mother's Day tradition to walk over, since my husband and I also came here when I was in early labor for a fun treat. ?? Such a special spot.

Great neighborhood donut spot. Wide variety of flavors with rotating specials. Good for a donut and coffee for one or a box for a group - every flavor is unique and incredibly tasty. Favorites to date are the red velvet donut and maple bacon bar.

The BEST donuts and pastries! I love that they are completely peanut free, which is hard to find for donut shops. The donuts are also very light compared to other shops. Highly recommend!

Amazing donuts, boba, cold brew, and lattes. The donuts are always fresh, fluffy but crisp on the outside, and melt in your mouth. I just ate 3 in one sitting as I?m typing this. Love the vibe and music played whenever I go in, the staff is nice, and the location is great. Better than Do-Rite or Stan?s.

Really good donuts, I really like that it's not too sweet as anywhere else, here you can feel a real donut taste, not just sugar

Tasty donuts. Looks like they get pretty creative. Got there when they opened and they were a bit behind. Very apologetic about that and very nice. If I lived close by, I definitely would stop by before work for a coffee and a doughnut.

My donut lover son and I look for donut places wherever we are. This place has a great selection. My son approved of his choices and I had their latte which was good. Not many seating options inside, it looked more of a grab & go place with a few bar height stools and a long table by the window. Paid parking available right in the front of the place

One of the best cake donuts I have ever had! Great service and a very cute and very clean shop.

Been coming to this place since it was in Belmont. Has an amazing assortment of donuts and coffee. The donuts are simply to die for and always having new and amazing favor rotating throughout the year. If you haven't tried this place, you should add it to your list. Coffee is great too!

Some of the best donuts in Chicago! Highly recommend the cinnamon blueberry.

Came here for the first time this morning to pick up some treats for work. I picked up apple fritters, Paczki and a couple donuts. So fresh and yummy, will definitely be back.

Great donuts, but I don't know why people say the staff is friendly. They're NOT. My husband and I live in the neighborhood and have been customers since they opened. We probably buy donuts once or twice a month. Not one employee has ever said a single unnecessary word to either of us. Every time we leave we talk about the utter lack of friendliness.

Cute new Donut shop. Big selection of Donuts and some savory baked goods. The donuts are fresh and have great flavor. We tried the apple cider, vanilla with chocolate sprinkles and double chocolate oreo donuts and they were delicious! Other flavors they had were red velvet, old fashioned, bavarian creme and many more. They also offer coffee, iced tea, milk tea, ice cream/milk shakes and canned drinks. Has 2 seating areas with little tables and the staff is super friendly! Definitely a great addition to the

Amazing donuts! These are exceptional -my fav donuts n the city. Place is family owned and the family is awesome. Get these donuts!

I love the donuts and coffee at Somethin' Sweet. I've enjoyed their sprinkle donuts, ube flavor, long johns, and more - theirs are my favorite donuts in the city.

Somethin' sweet is amazing! All of their donuts are always perfect; the people are nice; the whole situation just immaculate. I can't think of a single complaint I have in the 10+ times I've been there -- perhaps other than (this is my fault) that sometimes I get there little late and they've run out of a donut that I really, really like, but then I just get a different delicious donut instead.

Delicious donuts. A nice variety and every donut was done right. The chocolate sprinkle was my favorite. Cherry cake donut a close second. If you?re a donut lover this place is a must visit. ??

The get it right! So many donut shops do too much with overly sugaring, overly icing, etc. I absolutely love the bake, the amount of sweetness, and the flavors. Way to go, we'll be back ??

You know the food will taste good just because of the customer service. Brick and mortar family owned business with smiles early in the morning. Don?t be discouraged of the hard to find parking, and do try every single donut here!

Delicious donuts and pastries! Friendly staff and just great all around ?? ??

Andrew was just as sweet as his doughnuts! Clean, easy to get to, great variety of products. Will definitely be returning! The hour drive is worth it!

Great unique variety ?? I finally got a chance to hit this place up and ended up getting almost every flavor they had. Fresh doughnuts ?? great flavors and really friendly staff. Got treats for the family on a Sunday morning after getting our vaccinations. I really like this local spot.

It?s good but costly ! I don?t know when I?m searching vegan it?s showing up. But they don?t have anything Vegan.

The ham and cheese croissant was Okay. The croissant itself was nice and crispy on the outside and the perfect amount of softness in the inside. Although the choice of ingredients regarding the cheeses and ham are?sub par The vanilla cake donut had a weird cinnamon aftertaste in the cake. And the vanilla frosting tasted artificial and bitter ?overall wasn?t a good flavor combination. The flavor of vanilla should be subtle and soft. It shouldn?t punch your tongue. My tongue was punched throughouly. Overall

I?ve finally found some time to leave a review. A couple of years ago I discovered this Donut Gem. Whenever I?m in the area I stop in for a fix. The place is nice and cheery and I?m always greeted with a ?Hello?! Of course I buy enuf to bring home to the family. I love the freshness and I mean soft, plump, squishy sweet somethin?. I have eaten a lot of donuts in California. So when Read the owner learned baking donuts in California and his last name was Chao! I knew this was going to be for me.

Been meaning ro check this place out. I ordered a dirty chai and a couple donuts. The Chai is excellent here. It has actually spice to it. And the apple crisp donut was delicious as well.

The most friendly staff and great donuts! Even some savory pastries.

This place is the best! They serve some delicious coffee to compliment their top notch doughnuts! They even topped my coffee with some almond milk. You gotta be kidding me! This place is the best! Somethin Sweet!!!

Some of the best cake donuts I've ever had! So tasty and a great selection! Red Velvet is a must try.

I don?t understand the hype. I purchased 6 donuts and none blew me away. They all tasted like chain donut shops. A little pricey for a small donut that has no wow factor or flavor. One suggestion on the filling donuts don?t be cheap with a squeeze of flavor fill the donut up with flavor.

Having had donuts in Southern California, these are definitely on par if not better! So fresh and soft with quality ingredients. Love supporting this mom and pop who collabs with Bru Coffee.

I?ve been coming here years ago. The service it?s always nice. But I recently came in and there is a new worker. I was going to pay cash but I was short on a couple CENTS. I asked If I could pay the rest on my card. But before I could finish my sentence he was like ?yeah, I want you to pay me everything?. Of course I was going to pay every cent that was on my receipt. But I think it was really rude. I never intended to not pay the CENTS.

Best ube filled donut! It?s a must try for any ube lovers ?? very friendly staff and great way to support local!

Great small shop. Doughnuts are better than three bigger chains and the smoothie is fantastic! Right around the corner so I'll be back!

I had been wanting to come to this donut shop since it opened in my neighborhood and finally decided to bring my son. It was such a disappointment. Came in at the wrong time (1 pm). They only had about a handful flavors left. None which my son wanted which was Sprinkles. He loves sprinkled donuts. Gave a low rating due to flavor and customer service. Donuts we got were bland and hard. Red velvet, blueberry, cherry and a plain donut with chocolate dip and heart shaped candy was what we got. Definitely overpr

Definitely a cut above the average doughnut! The texture is exceptional. The maple bacon one was tasty, but the apricot-filled doughnut was amazing. Friendly staff, very clean. Worth a side trip to a quiet neighborhood!

Delicious, beautiful donuts. Super friendly staff. A true neighborhood gem.

I?m always ordering food delivery from here I LOVE the smoothies and doughnuts.

Delicious donuts with great selection. Very friendly staff.

Extremely helpful! There was an issue with my pick-up order, and the employee was so patient and assisted me with clearing up my mistake. The atmosphere was extremely nice. I loved the variety of different donuts.

The BEST ever donuts!! I have not had an entire donut in almost 10 years cos after one bite the sugar & unhealthy ingredients always made me sick to my stomach. I got a dozen donuts from here & ate 5 entire ones & never got sick / no sugar rush. THANK YOU for making clean desserts & not adding any unhealthy additives. Also, they taste out of this world!! Will be returning every time I?m in the city.

These guys are the best. Not only do they make amazing donuts but they couldn't be friendlier. They're also really cool to my kids

I have visited two times so far. Everything has been excellent, strawberry glazed , old fashioned, and blueberry have been some favorites so far. We will be back to try more. ??????

Good ass donuts ???? I love a good glazed but I also indulge in a Maple bacon or a Boston cream pie ?? especially when I have the munchies. I like this place friendly service as well

Love all of the staff members, they?re all so welcoming and know how to cater to your needs. Coffee is great, donuts are great, the service is immaculate. 5/5

Really cute neighborhood donuts and coffee shop. Bought some tasty coffee beans and donuts for a party.

Nut-free donut shop!! Delicious. They do custom orders too.

Recommend: the donuts were good.

Welcome to Albany Park, our favorite sweet shop. I had tried several donut shops through the city and this is one on Kedzie is the best. Your Boston Cream has the perfect filling. Not to milky. No to swee, not to little and not to much. Perfectly balance. Wonderful job!! Again hope your business thrives!!!

I love this place! I?ve only able been able to order it for delivery unfortunately but they always pack the order with care, I truly appreciate the tamper safe packaging. I have tried many of their donuts, coffee, and savory pastries, and they?re all delicious. The Ube Bismarck donuts definitely are a standout to me, they are to die for.

We ordered 70 donuts for our wedding reception and everything was fantastic! All our guests were impressed with the quality and flavors. This is an underrated classic donut shop that you need to check out! Support a local small business!

Very expensive and not fresh?? it was my first time going to this donut shop after seeing it on TikTok and Instagram ??

Absolutely the best donut ?? in Chicago!! Hidden gem. Worth the trip. You have to try the Blueberry donut. All the staff are great and friendly.

Tried 6 donuts, they aren't very good. Taste about the same as Dunkin donuts, and it was $18 for 6, it's really expensive. Charged extra for Bavarian creme, say they are specialty donuts. Bavarian creme is at every donut shop in the world, it's nothing specialty. They said they are made off site somewhere, so I assume the same factory as Dunkin or wherever gas station donuts come from. Actually 7-11 donuts are better. There are so few good quality donut shops in Chicago, Krispy Kreme is a lot better than th

Delicious donuts, smoothies, and coffee/ tea drinks! Andrew is great to work with, and they are very supportive of the neighborhood schools. Definitely check them out and support a small business!

If you?re just looking for ?something sweet?, this place will be fine, but if you want a great doughnut, I?d keep looking. The doughnuts appear to be made from a mix; they?re fine but not amazing and if I?ve got a limited number of calories or carbs to spend on a treat, I?d rather wait for something awesome. That said, the staff was nice and the doughnuts weren?t bad. I like doughnuts, I eat a lot of them, and I have tried many places in and out of Chicago.

Probably some of my favorite donuts in the city. The business is family owned, has amazing standard and speciality donuts, great customer service, and a wide variety of choices, especially on the weekends. Places like this guarantee that I never step foot in a chain. This place is a gem!

Absolutely delicious donuts. Blueberry old fashioned and red velvet are AMAZING and we loved the mint cream St. Pat?s special we had today. Fresh, quality ingredients are evident. We love these donuts. You must go try them!!

I love this place that recently opened in Albany Park. Very creative and delicious doughnuts--my favorite is the Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting, yum! Just had an apple fritter that was light and very tasty. They have other pastries & breakfast items, & good coffee, but my main focus is on doughnuts...mmmm...doughnuts. The manager Andrew & staff and the atmosphere are super friendly. I have had some nice conversations there with neighbors and an out of town visitor. I'll be back soon.

Been craving donuts for the last week. Decided to treat myself. Friendly staff, amazing donuts. Usually glaze donuts melt away like Cheetos but these were filling and satisfying. The lemon curd was perfect. Great consistency, not too tart but not too sweet. Can?t wait to try the others I got. The special surprise for me was that they had ice cream too!!! Can?t wait to go back to see what they come up with

An amazing local donut shop in Albany Park. Highly recommend the pumpkin and apple spice donuts, the best fall flavored donuts we?ve ever had! Their glazed cake donuts are great with coffee. Their customer service is always warm and friendly as well. Can?t wait to try more here!

I will definitely be back. Both the yeast donut and old fashioned are great. Very fresh, excellent variety, no frills

Delicious, moist affordable donuts! I got two for ~$5 and both were yummy and sparked joy. I tried the blueberry and red velvet and liked both, but would probably recommend blueberry if I could only get one.

3 stars at best... Drove 1 hr to this location with high expectations due to good ratings. Was disappointed. I am a huge apple fritter fiend and it was such a let-down. Super thin and dry. Apple fritters should be doughy and crispy. However, their cake donuts were great (devils cake and blueberry crumb). Would not come again.

Some of the best donuts I've ever had and a hit at the office. They're a bit more dense, moist, and cake-like which is exactly to my taste. Great flavors (can tell the chocolate they use is high quality) and good variety.

First time at the Kedzie location, and the donuts were outstanding, fresh and delicious. It might be my imagination, but the donuts here tasted better then the Fullerton store? A blessing and a curse having some of the best donuts in the city a couple blocks away. Lol

They donuts are fresh. They make them every morning! And it tastes sooo good!

Great donuts! They are priced higher than some others I?ve had but the quality of them definitely makes them worth it. The ube filled donut especially was delicious.
