This cozy bakery is a gem just off the main highway ? perfect for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner. The music, food, service, and atmosphere are spot?on every time I visit. The staff are always friendly, the baked goods are fresh, and the menu has something for everyone. I?d gladly recommend it to anyone traveling between Sacramento and San Francisco ? it?s a great spot to refuel and relax.

The Solano Sandwich was hands down the best I?ve ever had. The turkey and cheese were perfect, and when you take a bite, the cheese stretches ??. The bread was incredible?soft, fresh, and perfectly toasted and the pesto sauce took this sandwich to the next level. Everything came out hot and delicious. The ham and cheese croissant has improved. It has a little bit more ham and cheese. On the other hand my husband got an jalpaneo sausage croissant and it was practically empty there was sausage only on one half when you cut it in half and three pieces of jalapeno no cheese. So I guess it's Hit or Miss there if you have your favorite stick to them but that's my take on the croissants today.

We found out about this place from my husband's coworker who brought in a box. I tried their chocolate croissant and it was so fresh and delicious I couldn't stop thinking about it for 2 weeks straight. My husband made the 45 min trip today from Rocklin and arrived right when they opened thinking he would get fresh hot pastries. He brought some stuff home and I was sooooo disappointed. Got there at 5:30 am when they opened and the was a line. But the staff worked really quickly and the wait time was minimal. They were so friendly and helpful, making the start of your day a happy one. Everything looked fantastic. Holy crap! What an amazing find right off the interstate on a long road trip. I have eaten pastries all over the world and this place is LEGIT! The savory menu is crazy good. Skip all the fast food breakfast around this spot and get some real food made by real good people!

Pulled into this place off highway 80 in search of anything for some breakfast without any expectations. The caliente breakfast croissant may be the best breakfast sandwich I?ve ever had. So damn good! The spicy jalape?os with the avo were just fantastic. Also had a chocolate frosted old fashioned donut which was also great. This is a truly terrific old school family bakery, can?t recommend enough. 10/10.

Love their sourdough bread. I drive 45 mins just to get it. Their delux breakfast sandwich is always a great option and their horchata latte is delicious.

We make this our stop on the way to Tahoe whenever we get there before closing. Their sandwiches are delicious and we always get a few quiches for the next morning. Pastries as well of course! Friendly and efficient. Don?t be deterred by the line out the door if you go at lunchtime.

A lovely bakery with the nicest people. We had a great dulce de leche filled donut, super fresh ham and cheese croissant and a mini jalapeno quiche. I loved that the quiche was more of an egg bite without a crust. Lots of flavor in everything ! I also had a Ghirardelli mocha which was nice and wasn't too sweet. They had tables outside where we sat with our dog. A nice quick breakfast !

Just came here for the first time! awesome experience! I had the half Solano panini! will definitely come back! within walking distance to neighborhoods, makes a nice weekend walk with the kids before or after the park.

I am still in the parking lot but felt like this place deserves a review before I get distracted! On way home to Sacramento from bay area. Never eaten here before and definitely glad I stopped here after filling up at the gas station across the street. I ordered the California club sandwich and a raspberry shortbread cookie dipped in white chocolate. Obviously I ate the shortbread before the sandwich and that explains the no photos! Very good place! It is located right off 80 going to Davis. As you can see from the pictures, it has tons of options of sandwiches, cookies, muffins, donuts, bagels, etc. My wife and I shared a maple donut and two muffins, banana with hazelnut and the other one was peach flavor. They all were amazing. We are definitely coming back to try different options. Oh, their mocha is very good. My wife's latte was okay, but I am never a big fan of lattes.

3.5 stars. This place offers a large selection of baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. We ordered the Solano and California Club. Sandwiches were delicious and hit the spot. We also got a chocolate donut and the mini beignets which were very subpar. Beignets were stale and dry? skip on these. The chocolate chip cookie that comes along with the panini was also OK.

(Super late review) This place is one of the best doughnut shops I've ever been to. The workers here are so friendly and awesome. There are different varieties of not just doughnuts and pastries but sandwiches and bagels, too. I will continue to go back here and try every delicious item that they have. Keep up the good work and excellent service you continue to provide.

Very nice bakery. The baked goods are delicious. Ordered a California Club Croissant for lunch and came with a free chocolate cookie. Friendly staffs. Next time, I will try their doughnuts because they have a huge selection.

I love this place. Croissants are awesome and I love the cow in a blanket before a drive to the snow. Mini quiches are great if they're there. However, every single cup of coffee has leaked around the lid. Been going here for over a year and 10/10 cups leak tons of coffee. It's a meme now with my girlfriend and I. The solution is to go to the Safeway gas station and grab a cup for a transfer. Please source a new cup/lid combo.

Great food, I had the Santa Rosa and it was incredible. Delicious blend of meat, cheese, Dijon mustard and something else. The bread was just the right texture and blend of moisture, sturdy but not crumbly. Wife's croissant was wonderful, just the right amount of flackyness.

Delicious donuts and baked goods. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely try the old fashioned blueberry donut, donut cinnamon roll and deluxe breakfast sandwich you won't regret it.

Solano Baking Company is on the pricy side. However, if your budget has enough bandwidth, you will be in for a satisfying treat. There are many sweet and sour options to delight all of your cravings.

I stopped here briefly on my way to Sacramento. I came for lunch, had a delicious breakfast sandwich instead, and drooled at the display cases filled with donuts, giant muffins, and other goodies. If you must break your diet, go here!

A lot of places after Covid went to crap customer service went downhill, food went downhill but not Solano bakery. I love coming here for their breakfast sandwiches and when I ordered pies for Thanksgiving and wasn?t able to pick them up due to work, they really helped me out, this place is awesome. Another incredible experience at SBC. I'd write a second review if I could. Today we had the breakfast bowls. Phenomenal! This is an amazing place. We have been making excuses to stop here between the Bay Area and home. Ahhh, memories... My first mocha was here. And, of course, I have been disappointed with every other mocha since then. Don't forget the fritters; great variety cooked perfectly.

The very worst sandwich I've ever had! The fogaccia is tasteless, dry, and way too thick to use to make a sandwich. My sandwich had a rock-hard piece of cheese that was supposed to be melted, and some brown avocado. I had to throw the whole thing out. The coffee was good.

It?s a lovely bakery, but not for bagels. I got a bagel egg and cheese. The eggs were microwaved. The best part was the free samples of cake. The staff was very friendly and there is plenty of seating. Coffee was fine, but again this is really just a bakery.

The cornuts are amazing. Staff are not aware of what is available online. The in store menu and the online menu dont match up. A bit frustrating

I find myself bringing the half & half container up to the counter for refills. Suggestion: I would leave Two containers on counter. Last week 3 times I had to bring the container up to the 2 ladies up front for a refill.

Love this bakery! A lot of other people do too so it gets very busy! Donuts fly off the shelves. If you have a little time, try a bagel sandwich. They're huge, so you may want to share. If you're in a rush but not wanting a donut, grab some of their little quiches. I had a ham one and an artichoke one. Loved them both!

Part of me doesn't want to say nice things about this place because it's going to get busy. Every time we drive to Sacramento we call in our sandwich order and it's ready when we pull in. It usually takes them about 15 minutes to make a sandwich so expect that time and you're okay. After 12:00 half price on Donuts

This was my first visit to Solano Baking Company and so will 100% be back! I met Kendra the owner working behind the counter, super friendly staff and an amazing donut, coffee and breakfast bagel! The atmosphere was great with a kindness and happy felling everywhere. It gave you the felling of walking into grandmas shop to pick up some baked goods and delicious eats! I love the bagels here, and other treats. As we are driving up 80, I place an on line order for pick up. We stop for gas and bagels and we?re on the road again fast. The bagel with cream cheese and veggies is my favorite, but I love the more filling options too with eggs

Ham and cheese sandwich had nothing on it and wasnt toasted, didnt come with a cookie. Completely dry with no toppings after being ask if I wanted everything on it and saying yes. Bagels also were barely toasted and almost no cream cheese. Tempted to request a refund.

Found this place randomly on our way to Sacramento- the atmosphere is so warm and the menu looked so good it was hard to pick. Sandwich was borderline inedible. I ordered a chicken salad sand. More than half of the chicken salad was grapes. I love grapes but not in my chicken salad sand. Took one bite. Spit it out and threw the whole sandwich in the trash.

I was the ONLY person in the place. Ordered two croissants from the case and three sandwiches. Got the croissants right away. Waited 15 min and they called my number but wrong sandwiches...said "oh it's a different number 10." I thought there was only one wooden spoon with the number 10 but who knows. Waited another 20 min and went to ask about my food. They told me there was one order ahead and then they would START working on mine. Seriously!? I'm the ONLY person in the place!! Super sweet staff, went above and beyond to provide for us. My family and I loved the Solano and the Sonoma. The sandwich portions were huge and for a great price. We really enjoyed our time and food. Happy we stopped by here instead of fast food place nearby.

I love to shop local, so while in a road trip we stopped here. Unfortunately the chai was overly sweet and watery. And the old-fashioned donut was not crisp at all, with dough that had the flavor and consistency of pound cake.??

I absolutely love this gem of a local spot. They are always friendly, busy and their pastries, donuts and sandwiches are so so good (my favorite I believe the California club on the croissant with turkey, avocado and bacon). I find my family and I have been going there every weekend for something or another. My only complaint about this place is they close at 3 ?? so many times I want to pop in there after 3 for a yummy treat. But that's my problem not theirs. ????

My husband and I always stop here on our way to Reno? years!! We have the Solano sandwich , it is incredibly delicious!! The ingredients are so fresh, this time I ordered tomatos extra meat, and bacon sooooo delicious!! The aioli is so yummy. I wish I took a picture. Next time I will.

Great place for breakfast/lunch. The staff was kind and friendly and I didn't feel rushed while placing my order even though they were fairly busy. The employee was kind, patient, answered any questions I had and delivered great service overall. The avocado toast, breakfast bagel sandwich, & donuts that we had were all delicious! Not sure you could order wrong here though, as everything had us drooling. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a delicious baked treat!

ZOOO WEEE MAMA. The vibe of this place was off the charts. It was like this shop was straight out of Hallmark. So cute and everything was made fresh in the back. Good croissant breakfast sandwich. The large coffee was reasonably priced. I enjoyed. I also bought two bacon and spinach quiches yesterday but was too much to eat. Will try them today. They're topped with lots of bacon. Employees were so nice and courteous and welcoming and friendly and thanking. I'm a black man so it made me feel really comfortable and I felt good tipping them 20%. Will visit again.

Phenomenal donuts with a wonderful variety. Even when they are busy you can expect swift and wonderful customer service. It's our go-to place when passing by Dixon. Would love if they added French cruellers to their menu. Dinosaur cookie was a blast.

Great selection of donuts, pastries, and other baked breakfast items. We tried their blueberry croissant and a warmed ham and cheese croissant. The ham and cheese was oozing with cheese and had a hefty amount of ham inside it. The bakery was very crowded and they removed the tables, so you couldn't sit down and eat. Although there was a line, we got our items quickly and were back on our way on I-80. Very clean establishment and staff were very friendly and efficient.

The donuts were good, even the day old $1 ones!! Staff was attentive and friendly. But the breakfast bagels sandwiches were all quantity and lacked quality. We had the bacon and egg and tomato and egg bagel sandwich. The texture was there but it had no flavor or taste. Don?t go out of your way for the breakfast bagels but definitely come here for the donuts!

I haven't had much here, but on both visits my glazed old fashioned donut was delicious and very fresh, and my mocha was yummy! The service has also been professional but warm and welcoming. There can be a line as this is a deservedly popular place.

Not for me. I'm glad they are popular with the locals though. The decor is pretty sad. I've never seen such anemic and unappetizing looking cookies. So I got a donut, it really didn't taste very good, can't compare to the great donut places in Sacramento.

I had high hopes based on initial impression but ultimately the food failed to impress. Seems to be style over substance with an emphasis on large portion size. Ham & cheese croissant tasted average (or less), muffin was overly dense and had no fillings below the top half inch, and cookies were either bland or hard as rocks. Coffee was average with gas station style bottled flavors added. Unfortunately I think this will be my one and only visit as it was rather disappointing in all aspects.

I was finally able to stop in here for lunch. I'm always through Dixon after they close. I was very pleased when I walked in the door, nice display, great atmosphere. I ordered a couple of donuts and a Chicken Salad on a croissant. The donuts were AMAZING! fresh, perfect! Chicken Salad was delish too, HOWEVER the Croissant tasted BURNT! I was very disappointed at that point. Overall I won't hold it against them, but it should NOT have been served. I will try them again at some point. highly recomm

Popped in here during a road trip and had the best panini and lemon blackberry muffin! Cozy friendly atmosphere. Such a great find! Right off the highway so very easy to get to.

We try to stop by every time we're passing through this area. Some of the most amazing baked goods. Their sandwiches are delicious. Outdoor seating on a nice day makes for a wonderful break. We've always had exceptional service here.

I went there and they make wonderful sandwiches, there made fresh on the spot and the taste shows they also have a buetiful inside area to sit and eat alongside outside seating, there's also wonderful costumer service there all very kind whith big smiles

My favorite bakery. Beautiful surroundings, great layout, friendly staff. And the food is excellent. Melt in your mouth cookies, unusual quiche flavors, and best doughnuts ever. Don't forget to check out the day old shelf at the entrance. I pick up 3 bags of cookies for the entire office for $3...huge hit and my kind of prices.

My mom bought a house in Dixon in 96 and I lived there for a time but often, I just visit from Silicon Valley. This place has been there for over 20 years. When I'm in town, I walk over there with my special needs sister and her caretaker, Jenny. We get a Sacramento veggie which is HUGE and have it cut up into 4 's and it is like appetizers for us. We also get these spritzers, forget the name, but they are like Shirley Temples on steroids, yummy. They have day old pastries for $1 and they are amazing!

Best breakfast bakery in town. Always kind and quick service, fairly priced baked goods and great breakfast sandwiches and bagels. They've also got a cute rewards program for earning points towards free treats!
