Simone's Donuts

Simone's Donuts

Reviews Summary

Simone's Donuts is widely praised for its delicious, fresh, and affordable donuts, especially the cronuts, which are a standout favorite. Customers love the 24/7 availability, friendly staff, and classic, no-frills approach. The ham and cheese croissants and Thai iced teas are also popular, though some note inconsistencies in drink preparation. While most reviews highlight the quality and variety, a few mention occasional issues with greasy or burnt items. Cleanliness and credit card fees are minor drawbacks, but the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it the best donut shop in the area.

Customer Reviews

So neighborhood, so wonderfully old school... been here a long time. Great doughnuts, decent coffee and all kinds of snacks and sandwiches... and an atmosphere hard to come by in this ever more corporate world. Had the apple fritter and it was perfect. This little strip mall has a bunch of local gems...

edited: the cronuts are the way to go?crispy, buttery, and delicately sweet, just wasn't giving anything new to me. the thai green tea was a cup of aggressively-sweet milk, with the signature earthy tea note taking a backseat. the apple fritter i revisited this spot for was just tragic, it was fresh out the back so i was thrilled, but it was so so so oily, grease bursting with every bite. i mean the glaze was fresh and yum [they do sugar glazes consistently well here] but the pastry was burnt, greasy, and b

Came here one morning just before 6am to get some donuts for work. They had a great selection and everyone at worked really liked the donuts, many people asked me where I got them. I paid $15 for a dozen. Says they are open 24hrs which is awesome for those late night cravings! I will definitely be back again!

Amazing Apple Fritter. Wonderful Spinach and Kale croissant. Delicious Bacon Maple Bar?even have Vegan donuts. Staff always friendly?24/7

If you?re in Long Beach YOU GOTTA TRY THIS DONUT SPOT. Really good, really fresh! Many options, fan favorites and new options. We got green tea donut, maple bar, twist, cronut (croissants donut), and donut holes. ALL tasty. They have Thrifty Ice Cream (THE BEST!). There are also Vegan options! Definitely recommend.

Everytime I come here, I am greeted by the nice and wonderful ladies running the shop. They always welcome you with a warm smile and smells of fresh donuts. I usually pick up a jalape?o ham and cheese croissant or a regular one. I also switch between the Thai Ice Tea or Green Thai Iced Tea. It always satisfies my cravings and breakfast needs. I highly recommend this place as it is open 24 hours.

Came to this place because it was the only thing opened late, the place is a little on the dirty side, the Donuts did not taste fresh and they didn?t taste good, i tasted like a medicine flavor, i get sick after i ate them as well. The positive is that they open 24hrs and they accept debut and zelle

The best vegan donuts I?ve ever had. Great price

Excellent donuts and friendly staff! It's great to have a donut shop that stays open through the afternoon. They even keep the donuts well stocked. The glazed raised is great but you should try the Cronuts, too.

Simone's is my go-to donut shop. They have the best cronuts and I'm always looking for an excuse to order their custom letter donuts. I've ordered several times in the past year or so and the donuts are always decorated so nicely! They are extremely accommodating and really make sure the designs and colors are exactly what you want. I've asked for super specific colors before as well as left the design ideas to the decorator, Melissa. No matter what, the donuts are always a huge hit! These are just a

I went here because my boss brought me some of these donuts for a birthday treat two weeks ago. I loved them and asked for the location info. I had extra time this morning and stopped there before work. The lady at the counter was super friendly and explained the different coffees and prices. The donuts were terrible today. The coffee was awful. I went to the back counter for milk, sugar, or the milk was warm. There was a large cup filled to the brim with ice and had a plastic spoon sticking out of it...

GO FOR THE CRONUTS! So many people recommended this place that I had to go. First things first, I love that they are open 24/7 and the prices are great!!! I got a good variety as you can see in my photo. The winners for sure were the Cronuts, sugar covered and the glazed?the sugar covered cronut should be renamed ?The Churro? because that is exactly what it tastes like. Next best was the ?custard filled pastry? that I can?t remember the name of. The lemon filled donut, the bacon maple bar, the chocolate cre

Hands down the best donut shop in Long Beach. They have the best (and well-priced) assortment of donuts, including vegan donuts which my daughter loves! They often give a few complimentary extras in your dozens too! The sweetest owners as well and honestly one of the best small businesses in Long Beach.

Traditional bakery with traditional donuts. Lots to select from including ice cream. Pricing is very reasonable and you can get anything you want here.

I've been coming here for 18+ years and have never once been disappointed. Tonight I had a maple cruller that melted in my mouth?? I will never forget this donut.

Great service, speedy, personalized donuts were soooo cute and perfect.

Where have I been? Simone's Donuts are addictively delicious!!! OMG!! I'm a glaze twist type of girl and the twist were so big, fluffy and soft.. It was like biting into a glazey cloud lol, THE BEST GLAZE I've had in a long time. Also, their CRONUTS AMAZING.. SOFT NOT HARD, they can be served warm as well which I HIGHLY SUGGEST. They are buttery and delicious, I mean you cant go wrong with anything here. Ive been coming once a week for the past 5 weeks( I know smh don't judge me lol) and I try something dif

All flavors are so good and fresh! I especially love the cronuts. Simon?s donuts has been here for a long time and just don?t miss a chance to they the local yummy cronuts in Ling Beach.

So yummy! You can get some creative, good-looking donuts at a reasonable price. The breakfast croissants are delicious too. My 3 year old is now addicted to them!

The donuts were very soft, especially the cake donuts. Not impressed with the cronut (maybe bc it wasn?t fresh out) there were 2 left in the display) Went at 10pm there were plenty of donuts to choose and more coming out. The lady was nice, she hooked us up when we ordered donut holes.

BEST DOUGHNUTS AROUND! Open 24/7, locally owned and staff is very kind. Everything is always so fresh and tasty. Wide range of options to choose from.

10/10 love this place, they open really late. These selection is fantastic, and the staff is super nice! Even if it?s out of the way, I?d recommend making time to stop by and get a dozen or so, and don?t forget the donut holes! I personally love the blueberry donut, glazed cake, cronut, maple bar and apple fritter.

The crispy warmness feeling in your mouth when you take a bite of a cake donut . There is not much better a mouth can endure

I come here a lot and I get the same thing every time: ham and cheese croissant and green thai ice tea. Usually my order is fine but the lady who works during the day always puts too much milk in my green thai tea. It literally tastes like milk

This is my favorite donut shop in Southern CA so far. It's a down to earth, classic donut shop with good prices and tasty dough. They have some other snacks as well like coffee, bananas, muffins granola bars, etc. but the fresh donuts are the best!

My favorite donut shop! Started going here in college since it was one of the few things open late. Now, I still go out of my way to come here for donuts. They have the freshest donuts with even vegan options. I love the blueberry ones, and if you time it right, you can get warm ones just as they come out.

Ordered these for my little one to share with his classmates. It?s hard to find Cookie Run anything and Melissa was able to deliver. I can?t speak for the taste because I wasn?t there to drop it off and hear the kids? reviews, but based on appearance?A+. They look even better up close. I can however, say that Simone?s has THE best blueberry donut. So good.

I've always loved going to Simone's. Affordable and delicious donuts and other things. They also have smoothies, croissant sandwiches, and various coffee choices.

Great place to grab a Jalapeno Ham and Cheese Croissant, OJ, Coffee and a couple dozen donuts. I'm a trucker and the curb parking E. Stern Street is perfect for my rig to stand while I jump out and grab my goodies. I deliver to Trader's Joe's stores and it's great that most donuts shops are already in the wee hours. For us extra early birds who like donuts and not worms ??????????????

Really a local spot for fresh doughnuts and cronuts which tastes like "Churros" but thats just me. Tight parking but worth the trip. I visit the Shoe Dr. and grab a doughnut of course

Amazing service! I had trouble ordering through postmates and had to cancel my order after two attempts to complete my postmates order online. After hearing my frustration with the online service, Simones accommodated me, above and beyond! They even made a handful of fresh doughnuts when they were not available at the time I made my order. Amazing service and doughnuts that blow DD out of the water!

Maybe the "best" donut shop in Southern California. They always have the french curliers . The coffee is too high, but it beats (STAR floor sleeping BUCKS) hands down. You will NOT be disappointed. They evem offer "bacon bar". Mmmmmm

Spectacular donuts. Wonderful owners. So sweet and kind with the BEST donuts in the area. I'm there every couple weeks ??

Best donut shop in Long Beach! The apple fritters are always perfectly crispy, and don't miss out on the warm jalapeno ham and cheese croissants!

Great selection of donuts. Best filled croissants in town. Our go to spot on the weekends, get there early there's usually a line.

Oh boy where do I even begin. Everyone time I slam my smackers into a yummy Simone?s Cronut it reminds me of the time I was tickled aggressively by my alien friend Smeaticus. I miss my dad. That silly flying monkey of askaban always had this sexy belly button that reminded me of a nice glazed donut. Simone?s you have stuffed me full of laughs and cries as I remember throwing ball with pa. Yummy yummy oh yummy Simone?s were thou please me next. Blartimus Maximus 6.9 <3

Simone's Donuts has the best cronuts! Service is always friendly and quick.

What a gem this place was. We were vacationing and came here after finding it on a random search. While here we met the owner who came and visited with us and let sample some on the thai tea which was awesome. She also told us she owned another donut place in Newport Beach which we visited the next day. The donuts are great the croissants are amazing and the owner was worth the trip. highly recommend!!!

My friend told me I needed to go to this 24/hr donut shop so finally one night after seeing a show, we decided to stop in. Let me say, everything looked so good, and I wanted one of everything. I decided to try the ?cronut? warmed up, and it was everything I imagined plus more. I wish I got another one to go!

Too good but definitely need an XL option.

The donuts seemed stale. I was there in the morning, shouldn't they be fresh? The apple fritter was greasy, dense and hard, not edible at all. There was so much odd stuff for sale it almost felt like a gas station mini market. I know this will not be a popular review, but I really doubt that I will be back.

Nicest staff consistently best donuts I love this place. Plus they have some specialty items that you can only find here.

Great donuts, pastries, and seasonal desserts. The staff is super friendly and talented. It's out of my way, but worth it and hard to beat. They make some of the most amazing seasonal treats that I wish were year-round.

Love their cronuts and vegan donuts ?? staff are always so nice and everything is always so delicious ?? love visiting every chance I get

Heard good things and out this place was passing by last Friday evening to a bday and thought maybe I should try. Unfortunately I have no idea what food taste like. I walked in a lady was eating food while behind counter, big turn off. But whatever maybe she would wash her hands before serving me. However, I said hello and nothing she stared at me.. said hello again and she then said hi ,saw people in back just looking at me. I don?t care how good these donuts are supposed to be, service is everything . I

Delicious! Turned up late with no idea what I wanted and they let us know immediately what the freshest item out was. The cases were packed solid with pastries and they all looked amazing. The apple fritter was crisp, chewy and reasonably appley. the glazed twist was large, soft, sweet and had a fantastic crumb. the red velvet was perfectly balanced between soft and dense. I'm looking forward to one of their turnovers and whatever catches my eye next time.

A very fine place for real ingredient real delicious donuts. These donuts don't make you sick all day if you know what I mean.

If you have a late night craving for donuts, or just a craving for donuts, this is the place to go. The donuts and various other pastries taste great and the service is always friendly. They also have a selection of vegan donuts.

I'm newer to the area and discovered Simone's based on a "top 100 Donut places in the country" list. Figured I would hit the ones closest to me and, because they're 24 hours, they were one of the easiest to visit. These cake donuts are INCREDIBLE. I don't say that lightly either, I'm originally from the Philly area and I love donuts. The cake donuts are somehow spongy, fluffy, and light all at once. I often find cake donuts to be dense and crumbly, so I end up avoiding them, but they only had cake donuts, c

Super friendly staff. Had 2 croissants, a few different donuts, and a large green Thai tea. Everything was amazing. Croissants were warm and the filling was warm and gooey cheese. The donuts wasn't dry, full of flavor. Green Thai tea was on point! I think the large was a bit too much for just one person. If u wanna share then a large is perfect. I highly recommend this place. Support the Mom and Pop donut shop, open 24/7. Can't beat that!

Best selection, always fresh and open 24hrs a day

Every time I go to people are really friendly. Polly and a gentleman that work there, I think his name is Steve are the best! The donuts are absolutely delicious. I really love the cronuts. When you go inside you can see that they have one many awards and the price of their donuts are very reasonable. I also like that it is open 24 hours a day. They also offer a great variety of drinks.

Always the best donuts, day or night! Service is always wonderful.

Best donuts in the southland. Period. Very nice people there as well. I love Simone's Donuts. They use higher quality ingredients than most other shops. You can get a dozen delicious donuts for 13.50. Yes, 13.50. None of this 3 or 4 dollars per donut nonsense some other places charge because they have a fancy looking shop. Simone's is the undisputed champion of donuts in the greater Los Angeles area.

The donuts are so fresh. I prefer this place over the chain donut restaurants. I love the ham and cheese criossanrs. They have Thai Tea and a Green Thai Tea, which the green tea is pretty unique.

We've been going to this donut shop for at least 40yrs!!! We have always enjoyed their donuts. I don't go very often in recent years as we are seniors and they are very sweet! Not sure if owners have sold to someone, or perhaps it's just me....but my favorite, the apple fritter has changed and not quite what it used to be. Overall, they are still a very good shop!!! Friendly, clean and donuts are of many varieties and FRESH!!!

Very good tasting donuts. Liked the glazed, cinnamon roll, and especially the cronut. However, in my opinion, $1.70 donuts are not cheap. Plus, they charge a 4% fee for the use of a credit card for any dollar amount. Other downsides are lack of cleanliness (under the counter at the register - ugh) and difficulty in communicating (the help were Asians wearing masks). Open 24 hrs, but of course, not all flavors available all day.

Very good donuts but cruller selection can be limited. Excellent apple fritters. Maybe the best I've ever had. If you're looking for donuts it's a good place with awkward parking at times.

Custom donuts make a perfect gift. Came out so cute. Definitely doing this again for friends in the future. Donuys were fresh and delicious.

The the cheapest but the best donuts I have ever had. The place is spotless. And the service is wonderful. They handle being busy very well.

I love Simone's! They have a small selection of vegan donuts that were delicious. Though I did not try their other donuts, they looked spectacular and came in classic & unique flavors. There were savory options, too.

Simone's Donuts was delicious! We stopped by for a snack on our way through town. Best donuts we've found since moving to the west coast. They were so soft, fluffy, and the glaze was perfect. We had a chocolate cake, twist, cinnamon roll, and jelly filled which all got rave reviews from my kiddos. I had a spinach and feta croissant which was amazing! We will be back on our next trip down PCH!

Ordered a variety of donuts at night because my daughter and I had a craving and a couple ham and cheese croissants for the morning. I was not expecting much because it was late and not fresh in the morning. And OMG these were amazing. Like some of the best donuts I?ve had. The croissants were giant and so flaky and well made. I consider myself a donut connoisseur and this place was so good I had to get online and tell somebody

Can't expect more from your old fashion basic donut shop. Love it that they are old school and have the basics. My fav, French Cruller. Light and airy. Perfect fix for my sweet craving. ??

This review is solely for the man that works here. I've seen other reviews saying how rude he is and they're true. They need to fire him, he ignored my mum when trying to order she started ordering and he walked in the back. A friend of mine yesterday went there and was overcharged by him and she politely said "oh I thought it was $13" when he was charging $25 for a box of donuts, and he told her to shut her mouth and "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO JUST PUT THEM BACK?" and that she would "mess up" all of his ot

CRO-NUT anyone... theirs are yummy heated up. We inhaled ours. Phfft forgot to take pics but i will be back lol. This is a fabulous donut shop thats open late n run by some friendly young people. The hood is pretty sketchy. Not your sit around n have coffee hang out kind of place. Order to go. Their donuts are very good. When ya got the munchies they are the only ones still open. Been here a few times. Hard to find places open late nite.

i love it here. they got the best green thai tea! you have to try it!!!! also they have a small selection of vegan donuts. my favorite donuts here are the pink one that's wavy and soft underneath that tastes like strawberry, and the classic maple bar!!!! also the guy up front is super nice and works fast. i appreciate the food and service, thank you and see you soon!

Their generosity for the community is underrated

We take out-of-state guests to Simones, and they are always impressed by the variety, helpfulness, and quality of donuts and other offerings there. Yesterday, we tried the Old Fashion donuts ??. I had researched donut history and recipes the day before, so had to try them out. Ended up at the park and enjoyed a late afternoon donut ?? ?? with coffee. There isn't a donut there I don't like!

Found this donut shop just by accident made a wrong turn and decided to get a donut and it was a great decision they were really really good there was a long line which should have been an instant indication one of the best glazed ones I've go back when in the area

Always a joyful experience when we visiting Simone?s. The lady that?s usually there in the mornings is so spunky and nice you?ll want to make it your usual spot. There?s a lot of comments about the cleanliness of the place and although it might look a tad shabby with coffee marks on the floor that has nothing to do with they?re food. Plus they?re open 24 hours so it must be hard keeping everything spotless with so many people walking around all day everyday. The donuts are amazing of course. I like the ma

Hands down the best American donuts you can find, with very attractive prices ! The donuts do not feel greasy or too sweet, the flavours and textures are very well balanced. The cronut, half donut half croissant, is perfectly proved. I would recommend ordering the dozen, and try as many different flavours as you can

This place does not need reviews. They are working so hard day and night bringing the best to the market (donuts, croissants, ?) They are always packed with customers but will never ignore you. By the way the have the best coffee period smooth and not bitter not acidic at all. ???? Polly is the best in customer service ??

A 24 hour donut shop. Their always making donuts. The donuts are not all dry and lack their taste. They always have coffee pretty fresh too since their always busy. If your craving donuts late at night this is the spot. The service is always nice and friendly. Thats why I always stop by when I'm around the neighborhood.

Full array of treats available tonight from the best donut shop in Long Beach!

Delicious donuts! I love that it?s open 24/7 and can come anytime someone in the family is craving a sweet bite. They also vegan donuts and ice cream and available.

Not good for on the way to work. Allow yourself plenty of time. I had to leave without getting served after I stood there for about 10 minutes while every employee helped one group order about 8 dozen donuts. Any other donut place would realize that they need to peel off at least one or two to help everyone else on the way to work so we all just aren't staring at the ceiling for 10 minutes while you help one party.

Great tasting doughnuts! Excellent selection? especially for a Sunday night at 9pm! Awesome customer service? so friendly and helpful! This is our new go to spot for doughnuts on cheat days!

The absolute best donuts on the planet! They are always fresh and full of flavor! They have a great variety and can handle small to large orders. You will never regret a visit to this Long Beach gem!!

I just have to start off by saying "If you hate Simone's, you must also hate Long Beach too". And comparing Simone's to Randy's Donuts just ain't fair either. This is a small mom and pop shop that has been a community staple for YEARS! I always highly recommend them and especially their employees! These are some of the nicest people and while the line at midnight can be especially long, its worth it! Overall, if you want some extra fancy cinnamon toast crunch glazed mess go to LA but if you want the best (a

The Cronut is literally amazing. Get it heated though, if you want it right after ordering. Great blueberry donut, and the custard donut was filled fresh with cold custard. And don't listen to the guy that said the coffee was weak, you can get custom caffeine levels. Duck donuts (in Florida) is the only rivel I have had.

I've been going to this donut shop since I was a kid and now I bring my kids here too! Great selection of donuts and croissants. Decent blended coffee and smoothies. I love that they serve ice cream cones here too. Sometimes we'll be in the area after having dinner and stop here just for a good cheap ice cream cone. The only downfall, the parking can be horrible.

They have cronuts which is a fun option but otherwise it's the same as everywhere else and they are pricier. Plus the lady handling the money then wants to fulfill your order without washing her hands or putting on gloves. But the final straw of why I don't like them is that I asked for a receipt and I'm glad I did because I couldn't figure out what the one of the charges was. She gave me a donut I had not ordered and she wasn't up front about the price of one of the items. It wasn't on their menu board an

Open 24/7, some of the best cronuts around. Bought a Jalapeno ham and cheese for $2.75 cash exactly as priced on the menu. Great selection of croissants from sweet filled to choosing ham or Turkey with cheese. It's a popular hangout for late nights and when there's no place to go. First time here, and I will definitely be back for more.

I've been going here for about 25 years now. They have the best donuts in Long Beach. My personal favorite is the maple bar, but all of them are delicious. I suggest you give them a shot if you haven't tried them before. Very friendly staff. Always a good time.

This place is truly open 24/7 and the donuts taste exactly like a SoCal donut should. Amazing prices too with a basic donut costing a dollar and a soda costing not too much more. Kinda envious of the Cal State Long Beach kids that get to live near by.

The neighborhood donut store that remembers its regulars but treats everyone like an old friend. We?ve been coming here for 14 years and now that we?ve moved my kids still have to stop every time we are in town. The donuts are consistently yummy, as well as the croissants, and they have thrifty?s ice cream if you?re not in the donut mood.

They?re open 24/7. Cronut is a must try!
