SIMBONGSA SJ

SIMBONGSA SJ

Reviews Summary

The consensus highlights overwhelmingly positive reviews, with most ratings at 5 stars. Customers rave about the crispy, chewy Korean croquettes (especially spicy pork, bulgogi, and mozzarella) and the fresh, pillowy twisted donuts (notably injeolmi and original). Many praise the generous fillings, perfect texture contrasts, and authentic flavors reminiscent of Korea. The owner's kindness and fresh preparation are frequently mentioned. A few note the unusual location inside an event center and minor critiques on sweetness or dryness in some items, but these are rare. Repeat visits are common, with strong recommendations to try multiple flavors.

Customer Reviews

I?ve been craving Korean twist donuts (kkwabaegi) and korokke for FOREVER and holy crap this is my go to spot now. I got the sesame, injeolmi, and original- chewy on the inside, light crisp on the outside? beautiful??. I also got a beef bulgogi korokke and it was perfectly seasoned, chewy, crispy on the outside as well. The location is through the doors of the elite event center at a counter in the back, so don?t be surprised when it seems like you?re walking into a random event space for this. The owner wa

Located inside the Elite Event Center (was very confused while looking for it; signs would help). Minimum order of 3; either savory or sweet (no mix n match). They offer other combos, too, like 3 savory and 6 sweet, etc. They change their special flavors out each week but have some staples always on the menu. We got: Mozzarella: CHEESE PULL FTW--so generous with the filling. The outside has a nice, crispy crunch, and the inner bread is so light and chewy. Loved this with the honey mustard and spicy mayo s

The Food I stumbled upon Simbongsa with my wife during our food exploration. Simbongsa is a Korean Croquette & Donut Shop. We got a chance to try their Quabegi (Twist Donut), along with their Spicy Pork Cheddar and Crab Meat Korokke. Both the Quabegi and Korokke are crispy when we got them. The Quabegi have a soft inside to contrast the outside. The Spicy Pork and Cheddar and Crab Meat Korokke were also very good, with a good filling to shell ratio. They also have another selection on the menu that's coming

Very fresh and quite tasty They have fluffy donut sticks and deep fried Korean croquettes The original twisted donut was really good, and the bulgogi one was very flavorful. As someone who doesn?t like American style donuts because they?re too sweet, this was a good happy medium!

Oh Lord, you need to experience the original Mochi donut, the original twisted donut, and the Spicy pork Croquette. That?s all I want to tell you here. If I lived in Santa Clara my every morning would start with them ??

Have visited several times, and each time, the croquettes were brought out to us warm, crispy, and obviously freshly made. We've tried most of their menu, and all the flavors are great. Especially recommend the spicy pork and curry beef. The donut twists are likewise always made fresh. Everything is made with glutinous rice flour, so the dough is really springy and chewy. The texture is like a mochi donut, but even better and more pillowy, if you can believe it. The glazed donuts were a tad sweet for us, b

A little hard to find because it's actually inside the Event Centre but the (I presume) owner, was super nice! She used to own a Mochinut apparently :) The croquettes were really good, very flaky crust and chewey without feeling like you're gnawing on stale bread. And the fillings were bomb as well. I'm definitely going to be visiting again :D

Please go eat here so they stay in business. I would give six stars if I could. Or seven. ??? (twisted donuts) made with glutinous rice flour, amazing texture and great flavor. Everything else ? same great texture and flavor. Try it all, and go back for your favorites.

Experience was super weird given the location, and I wish they had the bugolgi but everything was yummy. Winners: Beef curry Spicy pork Potato cheese and corn Skippable: Pork and veggie Pizza Mozzarella

Omg these are soo freshly made. Warm and soft and crispy. Way way better than I expected. Excited to have authentic Korean desserts in SJ

I tried this for the first time today and holy cow it was fire! I got this as a snack because I didn?t eat lunch and I had to stop myself from eating more! I ordered the mozzarella, pizza, and spicy pork and all were so delicious! Can?t recommend it enough!

The ladies that operate this location are great. I tried the food here a few weeks back and for a pop up location it's really good. Definitely love the bulgolgi korokke , mozzarella korokke and pizza korokke. My daughter absolutely loves the quabegi donut twists. Keep up the good work ??

Hidden inside an Events Hall with a single bench to wait for your food. But very good Korean Croquettes

Delicious korokke and Korean-style donuts. The owner is very kind and the service is great.

Amazingly good! Loved every taste! It?s take out only.

Get it fresh. Eat it fresh. That?s the way to go.

Surprised at how delicious the donuts were!!

(Translated by Google) The croquette dough itself is chewy and delicious. Unexpectedly, pizza and mozzarella go best together. The basic twist is dry, which is a bit disappointing, but the Injeolmi twist is JMT. (Original) ??? ?? ??? ?????? ???? ?? ?? ??? ????? ?? ? ???? ?? ???? ????? ?? ???? ??? ???? JMT???
