Sesame donuts is delicious when they are freshly baked or fried. It?s best to get there early in the morning!!! The gluten free donuts taste more like baked cake than donuts but are a great option if you are looking to satisfy a gf sweet tooth. They don?t have have many flavor options but still taste decent with a cup of coffee. They also serve coffee but I have never had it. Affordable prices.
Been going here for a few years. They never disappoint!! My toddler loves the variety of donuts they have. Always something new to pick! The last time we went we got a bagel sandwich. Egg, cheese, and bacon. Was to die for! Been thinking about it since and will definitely be ordering one of these on the regular! Sadly didn't get a pic because it got devoured too fast!
Donuts are pretty good however, my only complaint is that Owner doesn?t lock up the bin that he throws all the old donuts into and the homeless get them. They take them up the street also in front of my house open up take what they want and leave the rest for the animals/rodents. The rest is left rot. The bank was so heavy I cannot lift it into my trash bin. The owner needs to do something about this.
Truly disappointed ???? The things that drew me there to begin with were what I heard others saying about it (all positives), the website was much MUCH more appealing and desirable and that they had those French cruellers! Maybe it was the time of day that I got there (after 6 pm on a weekday), but it looked like all the doughnuts were made in the morning...they were definitely old. They also didn't have Sid's Special, neither of the Cruellers (plain or chocolate), Portland Cream, cinnamon roll, or the mini
I can accept in the afternoon, the doughnuts may not be as fresh as the morning. However, there?s a difference between being not fresh and being totally stale. I?ve been by three different days at about 6PM and each time has been a disappointment. Today was just gross. The 3 dollar cinnamon wheel couldn?t have been made today. Just nasty. Tasted like ?yesterday?s doughnuts today? should become their new motto.
Craving a donut I stopped by late afternoon and they still had a good assortment of donuts to choose from. I had the blueberry cake donuts and they were very fresh and tasty.
doesnt like serving me for some reason. still tip even though its always burnt or something else wrong. i always get the same thing but she decides whether or not she wants to give me turkey that day?
Employees are nice but dont follow all laws and policies. I have a child extremely allergic to animals mainly dogs. I go in to find people with random pets inside with open access to all the food. It would be one thing if they are service animals but they never are. Sad my child has to suffer for an owner to take their pet inside a food establishment.
Me and my boyfriend were walking by and stopped to get some donuts. They were very yummy and the staff was friendly. Fast service will come again sometime !
The doughnuts were good, the filling was all in one place though, and it felt like it could use a better spread through the inside of the doughnuts, I think my expectation might have been a little high. The apple pie doughnut, though, was my personal favorite, and they do have cute kid friendly options.
You know that wax paper square that the young lady behind the counter uses to pick up the donuts with? Well I want to tell her, that "the wax paper is to keep the donut clean, not keep your hand clean." And stop touching everything with it. That's nasty. And the donut box is supposed to stay clean too, that means don't put the box sheets on the customer counter to get dirty by customers who lean on the counter as they decide which donuts they want. (Good selection of donuts) Seeing the young lady fold up a
This place has great donuts. It's our favorite place. My kids love the fun festive kids special. For Halloween they had some sweet treats! I love the variety of donut holes too. Yum yum!
I was here a few minutes ago with my child and we got 6 assorted donuts, and when we got home we found mold on raspberry filled donut. We checked the others as well, but they were all okay. Hopefully person who works there will start looking at the donuts before selling them
This is a small location with great donuts. I love getting there early so I can have my pick, if you get there too late the donuts are gone. They prepare fresh donuts daily, they also have milk & juice products. The staff are nice, very friendly.
Some really great flavors going on here. ...and I love that it's open in the evening. (Never understood why doughnut shops close early. Who doesn't like a late-night treat.)
I visited Sesame Donuts for the first time hoping to get some great donuts and a fancy coffee drink. The donuts did not disappoint us, but they only had self serve coffee in a premade carafe available even though the menu had a range of different coffee options on it. The girl working didn't seem interested in anything except her friends that were hanging out in the back of the shop behind the counter. I think she just didn't want to play barista and she ran back to her giggling teens companions somewhere w
I love this donuts ??, all the time they're so fresh and delicious ??
Solid donuts, great staff, quick service.
Taste test day! I have eaten donuts from here more times than I can count. But wanted to compare to Donut Day off TV hwy. I had a maple bar and buttermilk bar at both places. The maple bar at donut day was softer and fluffier, probably doesn?t hold up as well day old (that?s a good thing). The one from sesame was dryish and had maybe no maple flavor, same feedback for donut day. I mean the maple doesn?t need to hit me in the face, but I should know it?s a maple bar. The buttermilk bar from sesame was far in
So we like sesame donuts when we go to this location there is different people and the service is ok. But today we had the worst experience, there was this Hispanic young kid very racists with his own people, who told me that he didn?t speak Spanish, when I was speaking English all times to him, I do have an accent but not for you to don?t understand, he doesn?t know what is that he?s selling ,he doesn?t know the menu telling us that there is no donut o bar filled with maple when I been at this location se
With the mix that I've had roommates bring home and a few times I've actually visited amazing donuts definitely worth checking out. If you're there early enough get some of the savory pastries. They had a cheesecake flavored stuffed donut amazing
Was really hoping for at least one original glazed in my postmates order since they don?t list all the individual donuts and let you choose. But alas not a single original glazed so now it?s 9:15 and I?m ordering Krispy Kreme
2 dozen specialty donuts 1 dozen regs, about $56 They took care of everything
12/16/2023 Update- Something has changed at this location and not for the better. We ordered 30 donut holes and a half dozen assorted donuts yesterday, but only received 18 donut holes and the assorted donuts weren?t glazed. They were dry and NOT tasty. Please go back to what you were doing before. We LOVE this donut shop! They have the best donuts, and they fill the little donut holes w/fruit filling. Thank you for staying consistent and fresh.
This place has the best donut holes on the planet. The breakfast sandwich is fabulous.
I've gone in several times and they are still some of the best doughnuts in town with a great variety. The Donut holes are a great office- share pick-up.. Don't sleep on the Sesame ones! Also, despite inflation, still one of the more affordable Donut shop options.
Staff was great, order a few times before running into this issue. Bought a dozen donuts but found mold in 3/12, not coming here again. Just make sure you check your donuts before eating.
Great rotating selection of donuts. Plus, if donuts aren't your thing, they have bagels, coffee, various bottled drinks, and other breakfast related items.
This location is close to my house so it's convenient. Always friendly staff around with delicious freshly baked items. Normally not too busy so it's nice stop in quickly for a good donut!
I had never been into a donut shop as an adult - so this afternoon (12:00) was my first time. I can say that the Apple fritter and bear claw donuts were huge! The coffee is amazing. Literally I was shocked at how good the coffee was (considering that it?s really hit and miss with pit stop style black coffee). (Donut prices range between the classics and the fancy donuts - fritters are priced separately) I got an Apple fritter, bear claw and Bavarian cream filled, and a small coffee for 7.50. Fair price fo
The donuts and food are not terrible; they are not the best and definitely over priced. At 8:30 am the donuts did not appear to be fresh. Kings Donuts has fluffier donuts and at a reasonable price. This place does have breakfast sandwiches that were good. This was our last resort bc of it being Christmas. Kinda felt ripped off thought esp with them not being fresh.
We just moved here from Tampa where we don?t have very many donut places outside of Krispy Kreme or Dunkin and we decided to try Sesame after dinner tonight. Darren (hope I don?t butcher spelling) was super kind and helpful guiding us through the menu and giving us some pointers for next time we come since we don?t live far. We got a mixed dozen and so far only ate a lemon donut and maple bar and both were exquisite. Thanks Darren for the kind attitude!
At least they carry Vegan doughnuts- that was so nice. I felt included for once. It's amazing to be able to walk into a company and be able to order something I can eat. I really appreciate Sesame Doughnuts for that. The staff is very sweet.
Awesome donuts! The blueberry cake donuts are the best. They are dense without being too heavy, and the outside gets just a teeny bit crispy so you get a nice contrast between the glazed exterior and flavorful interior. Their other donuts aren't frosted too heavily, and they don't taste too overwhelmingly sugary. They have a wide variety of flavors that appeal to children and adults. Highly recommend!
Staff is always lovely and welcoming. Wonderful pricing.
I really really LOVE the donuts, but every-time I go to this location the employees, mainly the two women are always rude and totally ruin my donut trip experience?. I hope management makes the changes that need to be changed to have a successful welcoming environment.
I took my kids to this place to get a treat after their first day of school this year. We haven?t been there before and there was a huge selection of great donuts. We were trying to decide what to get and the cashier was very impatient with us. When I was asking if certain ones had fillings, etc she was very short with us and acted really annoyed that we didn?t know exactly what we wanted as soon as we arrived. I won?t drop the B word here, but yep, that was her. The donuts were expensive, but very good. Th
Update: I did eventually get to try on of these donuts at a Portland location. The donut was very bland and texture was off even for a gluten free baked good. Last time I was at this location they said they no longer make the gluten free donuts. So far I'm very disappointed. I know they make fresh donuts every day and they have good prices. I was told they make awesome gluten free donuts by a friend. As someone with celiac I was really excited to try their gluten free donuts, but every time I've gone they
Donuts are fine but they restructured their prices. All the "good" donuts are now specials that went from $1.35 to $2.10 and aren't included in the half/full dozen price. Then the special that was $9 after 8pm went from $9 to $12/dozen. We were pretty regular there and probably wont be going there anymore. Used to get 4 Donuts for 5bucks before they went to $1.35 each. Now it almost doubeled in price.
The cashier I dealt with seemed really unhappy with her job and she didn't let me finish before grabbing my donut holes and then she grabbed the wrong ones. She was happy when I tipped her though. I'll have to avoid evenings there in the future. Donuts were absolutely delicious though.
Awesome donuts! The Oreo donut is amazing so amazing in fact that they didn't make it home.
Staff was very friendly. Gluten free doughnuts were absolutely terrible. Not even edible. Make the trip to Kyra?s in LO
Aside from blue star and a couple other high end boutique donut shops in downtown Portland, I truly think no one else is as consistent in making great donuts as this place. Their filled donuts are excellent. Strawberry cream cheese, Maple cream, Portland cream, etc. Definitely worth a visit.
Blueberry cake donut!!! Yes. It is the best thing ever and I would drive miles for one. My dog loves there pumpkin donut holes. This location is always fresh and quick. Super friendly staff. Just writing this makes me want a donut..
The people here are very rude and they seemed put out by having to sell me donuts.....that's fine....I'll go elsewhere.
My boyfriend and I LOVE Sesame Donuts, this location in particular. We don't go very often because we will leave with two dozen donuts, that will inevitably be consumed in short order. Their selection is fantastic and my favorite are the strawberry iced donuts, something you can't find just anywhere. I loved the size and texture of their donuts as well as all of the interesting flavors. Pistachio creme filled were the newest, tastiest ones I tried. Something I'd never had but now will always love! Their staf
Great donut variety, always fresh and quick service. We have various diets in our home and the Gluten Free and Vegan donuts they have are winners in our house. Recommend this location.
This is hands down one the best donuts spots in the area. Besides the giant selection that changes regularly, they also offer breakfast sandwiches and coffee - all with a smile and fast service. I highly recommend getting one of their fritters (which are huge) or any of their seasonal donuts, including the pumpkin fritter and the apple cider donut.
Swung by here early this morning and grabbed a couple of donuts. I ate a glazed donut and wasn?t till the end that I got to a large pocket of raw dough. My stomach isn?t hurting but it is definitely uncomfortable and unsettled. Probably salmonella, unfortunately. Overall, was a pleasant maple donut taste. I didn?t check the other one to see if it was raw as well. Just leaving this review so people who got a glazed donut this morning be careful & toss it out to avoid food poisoning.
Thanks for having vegan donut options! A real treat.
I absolutely LOVEEEEE this donut shop... I've been to a few donut shops in/around Portland (and this is by far my FAVEEEEE). *yes- even more than VooDoo Donuts! Nice variety, friendly staff, they are baking new delicious donuts throughout the day (so they're FRESH!) and they're decently priced! Check it out. ?
Best local donuts. We always get the oreo special and devil?s chocolate. Oreo special is a powder donut filled with a sweet cream that?s cookies and cream flavored. Devil?s chocolate is a glazed old fashioned donut. They raised the prices recently which kind of sucks. They distinguish between normal and ?fancy? donuts and the fancy ones cost more.
Wonderfully fresh Donuts at a reasonable price. And they have bacon covered maple bars. My Fav! Used to strop by for 2-3 doz Donut holes for the office everyone loved them.
I love the vanilla cream donuts and they are never stale,Doesn't matter what time of the day or night you go in, they close at 8pm I call "my" donuts the 1lb sugar rush. The staff is great!
Hispanic lady working, pretended she didn?t understand English as I picked up a delivery order. She then proceeded to follow me to my car and then bang on my window and claim I stole the order because there was a duplicate order. She then knew how to speak english. I called support and eventually just gave it to the other driver since she didn?t ?understand? english. I called to speak with the manger to which she tried again to pretend to not know English, so I said it in Spanish for her to understand, to w
The best donut place in there area. The donuts are fresh and yummy. A little expensive (the only downside, but still worth it). They have a large selection, but if you want anything othere than the basics (chocolate bar, maple bar, round, etc.) then you will pay a bit more.
This place is a great stop for fast treats. A lot to pick from. Once we gone here before Pokemon League and they had Pokemon donuts.
So far I have only ordered on UberEats due to the quarantine, here is my experience so far: I really like their blended Kona Mochas, though I wish the portions were a little bigger considering the price(with an option for whipped cream!). Both times that I have ordered 'assorted' donut holes and the one time I ordered the 'assorted' 6 pack of donuts I was really underwhelmed. Each time, the variety was insanely lacking--the 6 donuts were all plain except a maple bar and a chocolate frosted. I was expecting
My favorite donut shop. Always fresh. Great people working there. Amazing variety. I think some people may forget how much work goes into providing such variety and quality. Great place for donuts and pastries.
You can take your Voodoo and Blue Star and get out of here because Sesame Donuts has the best donuts in the Portland metro area, full stop. The woman who runs this location is ridiculously friendly and efficient, and the donuts themselves are top-notch. At 10 AM on a Tuesday, I'd say there was a selection of maybe 24 types to choose from, including fritters, cake donuts, and my all-time favorite, a raspberry jelly-filled masterpiece covered in fine white sugar. I paid $12 for a dozen, and I was out the doo
Always a great place to go at night for donuts. Never been disappointed with the food quality or service. GREAT selection!
Donuts are delicious, but getting smaller and smaller every time I come in. And the larger Apple fritters and cinnamon rolls that you pay extra for, are now the size of the regular donuts. And,.... prices keep going up. I don?t mind prices going up, but don shrink the donuts as well. They are losing my business.
Nice selection of donuts and pastries. Love cream cheese donut. Hot coffee.
A chain donut place but better than some of the luxe donut chops you hear about, those are just expensive really. We went to most of them and were left wanting after spending $40 us per dozen, that's crazy! These you can count on, probably close to you and always fresh
I love it. It is great and the worker was really friendly and nice. I thought it was really nice because our credit card declined and she gave is the Donut's anyway! We have to pay them back tommorow but I don't know anyone who could be nicer at a donut shop!!??
We tried the guava and bubble gum flavors, it was different
Service was horrible older Spanish lady made me feel rushed and not appreciated. And was mad that I asked her to put my half dozen in a box instead of a bag. Two of the donuts witch were plain old fashioned were hard as a rock.
Stoped by for just a maple bar which cost me a $1.25. coming from Southern California that seems a little steep for a donut. And especially since that donut tasted like it was left over from yesterday. The maple bars from 7-Eleven taste better. Extremely disappointed. I had one from another donut place over off of Cornell, can't remember the name of it, which cost I believe a $1.35 but that one was almost worth it. I would definitely go back to that one, but not this Sesame Donuts.
I've visited this establishment a few times over the last couple of weeks and they've got some really good doughnuts. I haven't been a doughnut eater in a long time, but these doughnuts I've been getting lately really remind me of how great of a comfort food the doughnut can be. I enjoy that they're made fresh and by a local business rather than a big chain that can sometimes miss the mark in terms of quality. Great work Sesame Doughnuts!
Best donuts! The dough isn't too sweet, has great texture, and they are always fresh. My favorite is the sesame donut, because it has an amazing crunch and richness but very little sweetness. Great service, too.
Don't go here to often any more the donuts are ok but are a little over priced. I've had better. They used to have a half price deal on dozen donuts after 8pm or something like that which is what used to bring me in more often but they stopped that deal so it's been a while since I've gone in.
Donuts are fine, fun variety as you'd expect from sesame donuts but they're a little stale at this location
Straight forward donut shop with plenty of variety. Try the sesame donut at least once, you just might get hooked. I personally like the old fashioned plain donut best. Store has been clean and had efficient service every time I've dropped in.
Their donuts are so good. Large variety. Always fresh. I went in to see if maybe they made Paczki (Polish donut served for Mardi Gras), not this year, maybe next... Grab a dozen of various filled doughnuts to take home to the family to celebrate, so yummy.
I imagine that a donut shop is going to be a mini Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory with an amazing variety of donuts and endless rows of the sweet pastry. The reality of donut shops is that it's a business and they have to be realistic about the number of donuts they make and the variety that their customers are most interested in. That's reasonable, but I desperately wanted the table we were seated at to stop wobbling. I know how to fix it, most tables have screw adjustable level "feet'. Honestly, I t
Love the sesame donut franchise but the one on 185th is my favorite. No public bathrooms bit if you really need to use it Goodwill is right next door. Best donuts on this side of town.
Just went here last night, the cashier was so miserable I felt like leaving. She actually seemed to stare straight through me, it was bone-chilling in in a very in-funny way. She truly looked like she HATES her job. I don't want to go back even because she was so unpleasant.
My first time to Sesame donuts so I was not familiar with their donuts or ordering process. Staff was unhelpful and impatient despite me being the only one in the store. They had a decent variety of donuts. Taste wise the donuts were ok. Likely would not go back to this location.
When I get a hankering for donuts, nothing beats Sesame donuts. They freeze well. I get what I want, divide them up, put them in zip lock bags and freeze them. I'll pull them out great or thaw and enjoy them. They're great.
I haven't been here for a couple of years but it was as good as I remember. Clean, courteous staff, good service. And very good donuts with great variety.
There was one person in line in front of us and they ordered a bagel and coffee, it took so long for them to make it that there ended up being a line out the door. There were two people in the back joking and laughing but the person in the front didn't ask for help, they just took forever and we ended up giving up and leaving. If three people are working and there is a line out the door maybe someone should come from the back and help up front.
Best donuts in Portland hands down. Frosting donuts by far the best.
Very good fresh doughnuts everytime. Excellent customer service. Rania and Lousy are the best at this location. The other short girl with dark skin is kind of rude, sarcastic and very nosy:( just ignore her!!! I go to this Place pretty much every week,my kiddos love the doughnuts. Must try, YOU Will NOT Be Disappointed:)
Awesome donuts, huge variety, staff is always friendly.
Went to order a dozen since it is cheaper than getting single donuts. I ordered the dozen and a apple fritter and told me it would cost extra and told her it was ok. Upon paying see charged me for 12 individual donuts and not the dozen. I tried explaining to her but she told me that the more I order the cheaper it is and the less it cost more and then said ?I?m confused? she didn?t even try fixing the problem and terrible customer service.
This place makes some great donuts if you haven't had them before then you should try Sesame out and if you have had them before you already know
I was looking for a place to get doughnuts for a birthday party for someone with nut allergies so I was calling local shops. was told by an employee when I called that they don't cook with any peanuts or tree nuts. Then when I went in to order I was told they do. When I asked what had nuts she said they use sesame seeds, which I let her know are not nuts and okay. She then told me she tells everyone with a nut allergy not to eat there. I asked to speak to the baker to clarify since we were having a language
Besides Voodoo in Portland, best Doughnuts around. Great breakfast sandwiches too. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I cannot for the life of me get an apple fritter here.
