Customer Reviews

We can?t leave LA without having beignets! They were perfect! Hot and delicious! First time here though. The girls taking our orders at the register were a little shy maybe? Very quiet which seemed a tad stand-offish. But otherwise super cute coffee shop! So glad we found you!

My daughter and I wanted to try beignets while visiting from IL. Rue Beignet did not disappoint!! The nicest man made us our order and was so friendly and nice!! The beignet?s were delicious and hot and fluffy. He even juggled for us!! 10/10 recommend

Outstanding quality Beignets. Superb interior cell structure, moist & delicate. Well worth the visit. Nice staff.

Rue Beignet in Baton Rouge serves up some of the best beignets in town, made fresh to order so they?re always hot and ready to enjoy?just the way they should be, especially with a caf? au lait. The beignets here stand out from other spots thanks to their warm, crisp exterior and soft, airy center. Adding to the charm, the friendly owner often entertains guests with impromptu juggling, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. With hours that stretch into the early evening, Rue Beignet is the perfect place to

Was very impressed! The beignets were delicious. The server was so polite; brought our coffee and beignets to our table and left our tab open in case we wanted anything else. He also served some lagniappe beignet fingers, and toes! Wonderful experience and will be a regular patron.

Came into Rue Beignet because I am passing through town and wanted some coffee and a place to do some work before a meeting. Wifi not working (which eliminated my work plans) but the coffee is good (Cafe au Laitt). Seems like folks come here largely for the beignets which I did not try but do smell great.

Yen did amazing, thank you again! Eating these made me feel so nostalgic. They were so fluffy on the inside. I had authentic beignets when I was younger and my mom used to make them for me. We are passing through and I'm so glad we stopped here. We got the dozen. I highly recommend!

This is one of the cleanest beignet (and/or doughnut) places that we have visited. Their freshly fried beignets are consistently good quality. Not a huge shop but comfortable enough to sit and eat, although you can get paper bags for take out. It's a cozy and friendly place if you like to take kids (or yourself) for a sweet treat.

Visiting the area from out of state and had to try a Beignet...the reviews didn't lie, BEST EVER! Paired with the most amazing chickery coffee! The owner was so welcoming, friendly and so happy to have us visit. I highly recommend to dine in so you get the full experience and entertainment is a keeper!! ??

Fresh beignets, fried to-order in a cozy cafe. If any manage to survive long enough to cool down, don't throw them out because they are hard. 20 seconds in a microwave is all it takes to bring them back is what the generous owner told me as he handed me an extra bag of fingers.

The gentleman that was there taking orders and I'm the kitchen was super nice. In between orders, I saw him back in the kitchen rolling the dough and frying the beignets. They were fresh and tasted amazing! They were definitely made with love. I recommend trying them with cinnamon sugar. It was quite busy when I was there and it seemed like the one-man team had it under control. I will come by again when I am driving through.

One word... AMAZING!!! Amazing atmosphere, service and beignets!!! For tourists and never having them before, they were A+++. On top of that we had entertainment of juggling and a piano solo. Owner was just the best!!! Thank you so much!

We are connoisseurs of beignets and these are among the best! Soft, fluffy and serves steaming hot! They are perfect. The owner takes pride in his cafe and if you are lucky, he just may have time to show off his juggling skills! Great spot!

Very friendly and hard-working owner. Interacting with the customers. He knows how to treat his customers. Such great customer service. Clean and inviting. Beignets were hot, moist, and crispy. Best one yet......

Excellent beignets!! Nice crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! Great vibes and wonderful service!

Beignets are delicious. Crispy on the outside, pillowy, soft, and chewy on the inside. Coffee is quite nice as well.

Visited Rue Beignet Thursday afternoon to have coffee and beignets with a friend. It was so good, as always! The man who runs the place is a hard worker and so sweet! He goes out of his way to make sure every customer has what they want and is happy with it! This is a great place! Been there several times and will go again!

Our delicious beignets (and fingers and toes) were so yummy and were served with a side of juggling!! While we didn?t expect to find such a hidden gem in the shopping plaza, we would return in a heartbeat! The beignets were light on the inside and crispy on the outside. Powdered sugar enough (but not drowning) and we got some honey on ours?they were excellent!

Rue Beignet is a small, family-owned beignet shop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that serves up some of the best beignets I've ever had. The beignets are made fresh to order, and they are light, fluffy, and perfectly golden brown. The powdered sugar coating is generous but not overwhelming, and the beignets are still warm when they arrive at your table. I ordered a dozen beignets to share with my family, and they were all gone in minutes. The beignets are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. They are also

Rue Beignet is hands-down our favorite spot for beignets in Baton Rouge! The beignets are always fresh, fluffy, and delicious ? whether you stick with the classic or try fun twists like Cinnamon Sugar or Nutella. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and on our last visit, the owner even gave us a juggling show! Great food, great people, and a truly local gem.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Having good beignets is one thing but the owner is so sweet and welcoming. He played the piano (after he got us settled with THE BEST beignets) and just enetertained overall. It?s such a welcoming vibes. I Love it here????

20240331 The beignets are good, a little dense, and filling. I have wanted to stop here the last 2 days, and I went to Coffee Call and also PJ'S Coffee New Orleans in Lafayette. PJ'S beignets are flakey and the best compared to this place and Coffee Call. The employees are more on the quiet side and polite. The hot chocolate is good, not as sweet as Coffee Call. I'm glad I stopped by before heading home.

Absolutely amazing! It was a wonderful experience, perfect atmosphere, and excellent food!! We?ll be back again!

One of the BEST places for true New Orleans style beignets! The place is adorable and a perfect place for dessert. And for an additional bonus, you get food and a show, as the owner juggles!!! He?s awesome!!! If you haven?t tried this place yet, you need to go asap!

I don?t give out many 5 stars. Has to be over the top. I think I may have found one. Staff was very friendly (I?ll get to that). We didn?t wait long at all for our beignets. They even brought out the extra pieces of cooked dough from our order. They were delicious. We got some ?fingers? for the kids. And we had the regular size. As for the owner. He was a hoot. He came out to entertain the kids with juggling. Then played a little tune on the piano. Was just a really nice guy. He has artwork from the local

Beignets were so good, best service too

Great experience and the beignets were amazing

This was my first time to this place. I love the different beignet options, so you don't have to get the big ones. They have normal ones about 3"x4", "fingers" that are about 1"x4", and "toes to go" that are about 1"diameter. While we waited, the cook brought plates with one finger each and covered in powdered sugar. The fingers we ordered came out shortly after and were delicious. I definitely plan on returning sometime. One note: the Cafe au lait is scalding temperature and took about 30 minutes to cool

If you?re looking for the best beignets in Baton Rouge, Rue Beignet is the place to be! From the very first bite, I knew I had found something special. The beignets were fresh, warm, buttery, and absolutely delicious?light, fluffy, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar. Every bite melted in my mouth, making for the perfect sweet treat. And let?s not forget the caf? au lait?rich, smooth, and full of bold, comforting flavor. It was the perfect pairing to complement the beignets and made my

Amazing service, so sweet and lovely to talk to. The food is spectacular and made with so much love. I truly love it here, we stop by everytime we go to Florida from Texas.

The owner was extremely kind and welcoming. The beignets and coffee were fresh and very good. Highly recommend!

This cafe serves the most delicious, fresh beignets?crispy outside, soft inside, and perfectly dusted with powdered sugar. But the real star is Mr. Yen! He?s incredibly kind, always welcoming, and even sneaks in extra beignet. His generosity makes every visit special.

As we were heading home to Ohio from Texas, we wanted to stop for beignets while driving through Baton Rouge. What a surprise Rue Beignet turned out to be. Not only were the beignets absolutely delicious and the Cafe Au Lait hot and creamy, but the owner was the highlight of the day. He was so welcoming and kind, offering us additional beignet fingers and toes when he realized where we were from. He also played the piano and juggled for my kids. The beignets were fresh and made to order and very light and f

Very kind man, great beignets. Best we?ve ever had. The man who owns the place was very kind and explained everything to us about how to reheat and how they should be.

What in the world has happened? Came in during the week, on an afternoon, they're open. I place my order for some beignets and a 2 coffees with a little milk on the side. The young woman looked at me as if I had asked her to solve a complex algebraic equation, turned and looked at the coffee/cafe au lait pots and said, 'umm, we don't sell that (the milk). I rephrased, saying I wanted a little milk for the coffees, to which she again stated, 'we have the cafe au laits, we don't have that (the milk). The

The owner is so friendly and generous and beignets are FANTASTIC!

The beignets and coffee were wonderful. The owner is very generous and kind to customers. I would highly recommend!

We told the owner that we drove all the way from California for his beignets! He was so sweet and gave my husband, daughter and myself each a sample plate! We thought they were better than cafe du Monde in New Orleans! Plus he can juggle! Definitely go here for your beignets if you are in Baton Rouge!

The owner is SUCH a lovely man and a consummate host! We thoroughly enjoyed his hospitality and delicious beignets! Please stop by and try his food. He will lighten your day, guaranteed!

We got the regular beignet and the fingers. We we were super stoked about coming here and driver over an hour to get here but the guy at the register seemed like he didn?t want to be there and a little off putting. Aside from that the place was super clean and super fast. It looked like they made them on the stop. The coffee I got was perfect too and they served it in mug! I recommend it.

It?s good to be home! We decided to try a new spot in the way in to town. And this little coffee/ beignet spot did not disappoint. We walked in and a customer was playing the piano staged near the front door. We were greeted with a very nice good morning and hello, by Scarlett. Today we found a better beignet than our New Orleans spot and better than our Gonzales spot! This will be our new and only beignet spot when we?re home from now on! On top of the great service, terrific food, you can see a lot of ar

Unfortunately I didn?t get to try any beignets. Stopped here on my way back go the airport since I?m out of town. The sign on the door said they were operating under temporary hours this week, closing at 2pm. Okay great, it?s 1:19pm. The door was locked. Disappointing because I passed up other locations on the way here and there weren?t any nearby beignets spots.

Best beignets ever!! The owner was very friendly. He greeted us when we came in and walked us to the door to say goodbye. He entertained us with the piano and juggling. The beignets were amazing! It was a great experience all around!

The beignets are amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful!!! He gave us some samples while we waited for our order ????????

Best beignets I've ever had. Made to order. Very friendly staff and owners. Good old school Community Coffee served here as well. Definitely some comfort food!

I've been here a few times over the years. The beignets are always good and fresh. I've always been happy with the service as well.

1st time to Louisiana on a historical tour with daughter and grandkids. We wanted beignets and Rue Beignets popped up in our search. We stopped in and were greeted with amazing hospitality, the beignets were awesome and the man making them came out to talk with us. Local art studded the walls and atmosphere was quaint.

My family and I came down to help with the hurricane relief and wanted to try some authentic beignets in Baton Rouge. We got the beignets, fingers, and were brought complimentary toes to try. They were all delicious and the fry was absolutely perfect. The insides were fluffy and perfectly complimented the taste. A few of those in my party have had the famous beignets in New Orleans, but we all agreed these were the best! I?d dare say these rivaled Tiana?s beignets in The Princess and the Frog. ?? The staff

We were visiting from Houston did a Google search this place was close with good reviews. I agree the Beignets were absolutely delicious and each order made fresh. I will definitely return and my family that are in Baton Rouge, Plaquemine I will let them in on this quaint coffee shop. I will be back.

Beignets were hot, loaded with powder sugar & tasty. The menu is strictly various forms of beignets and drinks. The table was a bit sticky as was the floor.

Love the place it was sooo beautiful and amazing the staff was amazing and I recommend coming here. The beignets are beyond amazing and delicious if you haven?t try them you should come to this place it?s good and affordable.

Best beignets in the area and the owner is always so nice and personable. The customer service alone is worth the visit.

Rue beignets are BETTER than the ones we had in New Orleans. Best Beignets I?ve ever had!! Sooooo good!!! Sooo light!!! And the owner, was beyond delightful. Happy people make happy yummy food! Thank you for the lovely experience!

the owner has to be one of the sweetest people i've ever met, so least to say the customer service is great & so are the beignets! the place has a true cafe feeling to it.

The owner had our beignets ready in minutes and they were delicious (better than Cafe du Monde) We loved the enthusiasm of the employees. The Owner even juggled three balls for us after our meal, what a ??.

The beignets were amazing!!! And so was the hot chocolate! This place is a hidden gem as there aren't many beignets shops outside of New Orleans. It is also worth noting the excellent customer service!!! No doubt I will be back in the future!

Amazing service, piano playing, and juggling. And better beignets than Cafe Dumonde! Super friendly staff!!!

I was excited to go to this place as I had never had a beignet. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted. Our beignets were brought out pipping hot and topped with a beautiful mountain of powdered sugar. (I choose the large "finger" plate) They were heaven!!! My husband said they were every bit as good as Cafe du Monde. The owners made sure several times that all was good and that we were happy. I already can't wait for my next trip here to visit again!!!

Not only were the beignets delicious, the customer service was beyond 5 stars! The owner is so sweet and made you feel like you were the most important at that moment! We ordered regular beignets and He even threw in some fingers, which were fun to eat! When he found out we were not locals he was blown away with gratitude that we chose his spot! This is a must stop when in Baton Rouge!

Older gentleman made us feel welcome like we?d come to visit ?uncle? somebody?s home. Food was fresh and made to order. Entirely too much powdered sugar for my taste. I?ll know to ask for lightly powdered beignets next time. Was offered Nutella or honey with our beignets fingers. The kids loved it.

Beignets are amazing, however service and experience was terrible. Got the order wrong, took an incredibly long time to get the rest of the order, made NO apology and honestly no attempt to remedy the situation quickly at all. Served other customers before us. Really negative experience.

Very nice atmosphere! Friendly staff, good food, and the owner was a great juggler/piano player!!

Rue Beignet was great find! Same quality beignets without the drive to Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The beignets are fluffy and cooked made to order. The employees were so nice and she even put a few extra fingers in the bag for us! So sweet! I did favor the traditional powdered sugar over the cinnamon sugar beignets. We have been back with friends after our first visit. We did not get coffee on either visit. The inside has nice seating and usually very peaceful. Worth a try!

Very kind and welcoming service, and the absolute best beignets in the state!! Thank you! ??

Use to be great, good food quick kind service. Not like that anymore. The last two times I went, I thought I was going to die of old age waiting on my order for 45 minutes. The last time I went, then completely lost my order after I paid and waited nearly an hour. All my friends have shared similar experiences. I don?t expect this place to stay open much longer.

We are from iowa stopped in here cause we have never tried it and this guy that runs things there was absolutely ?? percent awesome and food was excellent

Friendly cozy and delicious! So fluffy and the perfect stop for amazing beignets

Great Beignets and coffee. First time having them and I'm hooked. Friendly service I really enjoyed the hospitality.

This place is hidden away, but we were travelling through Louisiana and wanted some beignets so we googled. We gave Rue a try and was so glad we did! The employee was so friendly and helpful as we had never been. After ordering he asked us to sit down to wait about 3 minutes for them to cook. We ordered them to go but when he brought them out he also brought out a little plate of a few 'fingers' for us to enjoy in shop to try them out. Everything was so delicious!!! He even advised us on how to reheat them

This place was so nice! Very friendly staff and very clean inside. The beignets were very tasty and freshly made. The guy here even gave us extra little ?fingers? to go with our beignets. So very good!!

My family had the BEST experience eating beignets for the first time! The owner was so excited that we came to his shop from Kansas City that he played Happy Birthday on the piano, juggled balls, provided generous servings, and took our picture!! There is such a fun atmosphere, and I enjoyed visiting with local customers while eating! We also bought the flour-mix and made some when we got back home. Delicious!! I can't speak highly enough about this place-- everyone should eat here!! Thank You Rue!!

My husband and I were in Baton Rouge for little over a day traveling for work and we decided to stop here, we're from Texas and never had a beignet before. The cashier was simply the most welcoming and kind human I've meet. He played the piano for us and juggled and made our day. Delicious beignet and great service. Will be back next time I'm in town!

Got the Beignet fingers and they were amazing. The made them fresh and hot while we waited. They even brought us a plate to "snack" on while we waited. Very friendly staff. Will definitely go back

The cook is super nice. I can tell he really loves what he does. We had beignets and they are soo delicious

The begniets here are the BEST in town!! And the owner is a delight! This is a must-visit--a local gem!

The Beignets were very fresh and delicious! The customer service was also great and the environment was quaint. We will definitely be back.

During our recent trip to Baton Rouge, we were wanting to try some beignets for the first time. We stopped in at Rue Beignet and were not disappointed. Though we went right before the shop was about to close the beignet were prepared fresh and oh so good! They were light, fluffy, powdered and so delicious! We gobbled them down as soon as we got in our vehicle! The service was also as good as the beignets. The guy who took our order was polite and engaged us in conversation despite it being time for th

We LOVE THIS PLACE! Best beignets ever! Cafe du monde has nothing on these. We finally got to take my mom and sisters and they agree that they are so much better. The owner is super sweet and always gives us free ?toes? with our order.

The beignets are amazing! We were visiting and looking for a local spot. Found it through Google maps. Decided to check it out. The owner understands hospitality 100%. He brought our drinks and beignets to the table. He gave us extras! He played the piano for us and juggled!! Dessert and a show! He was very friendly and attentive. He even gave us instructions on how to heat up leftovers. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. Completely recommend if you're looking for Louisiana exper

Best Beignets in Town. Awesome Coffee and Awsome Service.

Rue Beignets provided an absolutely fantastic experience for my co-driver and me! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was inviting and the service was top-notch. The beignets were simply divine?fresh, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Every bite was a delight, making our visit incredibly enjoyable. Can?t wait to stop by again!

Awesome people great vibe. Obviously the food is fantastic ????????. Clean and well-lit parking lot. Clean building as well.

Beignets are delicious. Owner is very friendly and the atmosphere feels warm. A group of knitting/crochet friends meet here often and everyone loves it.

Absolutely the best! We watched our order of a dozen beignets bring hand made. He also brought some fingers and toes to try. The texture was perfect- so light and fluffy. Not heavy at all or too airy. It was clean and they were very friendly. Much better than the famous place in NOLA and my husband says even better than another place a local took him to in the French Quarter.

Best Beignets in Baton Rouge! Treat yourself!

An absolutely charming little beignet cafe with a very kind and generous owner. My dad and I stopped by on our way through Louisiana on a road trip and it was a highlight of our drive. Not only was the owner and staff so kind and welcoming, the patrons inside were genuine folks that gave us recommendations and told us about themselves and the area. There was also live piano playing which was awesome and super fun to see. If you can, definitely stop by! The beignets, fingers, and toes were all super delicio

It literally took 47 minutes to get my food. The place had 3 customers and they were angry as well. The only employee were kids and they were too busy playing on their phones to cook and serve. This place used to be good, but I won?t be back.

We love this place. It's nice and quaint. The beignets are really good. The owners are very nice to their customers.
