Royal Bakery, Sayreville, NJ Royal Bakery in Sayreville is one of the local gems in our area. We visited in the afternoon, so the selection was a bit limited. Despite that, the girl there was very helpful and answered all our questions. My wife enjoyed the pastries she bought, even though she wasn't familiar with them. The only downside was that the cheesecake tasted different from what we're used to. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and the staff's friendliness made up for the limited selection.
I originally went in simply because they advertised that they sold Mr. Dee's chili (which I did purchase). But I left with a cinnamon cheesecake too! My four oldest children, my wife, and I were *very* happy to enjoy this for dessert! Will definitely come back! The donuts caught my eye...
This was a very nice place the goodies were unbelievable, my husband purchased everything I desired and the fine lady behind the counter gave me a cinnamon roll for the road. We will definitely be back.
My family has been going to Royal for over 30+ years. I know it has changed owners, but the pleasant service and good food is still there. I won't get Babka from anywhere else!
I had been passing by this spot for some time now. Whenever I was in Sayreville to do some fishing. Today some friends and I decided to stop and we were glad we did. We got some brownies, donuts, a few Danish (OMG) and a pie (OMG). The Ladies there were as sweet as the treats we bought. While there we asked that a few slices be cut from the pie before boxing it, to enjoy on the drive home and they obliged. The pie was delicious and so was the Danish. They were friendly and had a light hearted sense of hum
The way donut shops should be!!! I called ahead because I was in a hurry to get to a meeting and wanted to bring donuts. They put together a beautiful assortment and the donuts are to die for.

Old School small town bakery with a fantastic line-up of cakes, pies, sweets, treats, breads and rolls. All smiles when you walk in and great satisfaction when you walk out and get your goodies home. We have been going there for years, I really don't think we have ever gotten a sub par product from there. Donuts are their marquee product for sure. Enjoy!
I just wish that they had more of favorites by the afternoon, but I guess you could always order ahead.

Saw a loaf of pumpernickel bread on the shelf in a plastic bag. Had them slice for me. On the way home I dreamed of a cream cheese sandwich. Opened the bag when I got home; the bread crumbled out, it was stale! It should never have been sold!

Great bakery. I love their Canolis because the cream is very different than Italian Canolis. The rainbow cookies are delicious. The staff is wonderful. Highly recommend. Small parking area.
We went to this bakery for the first time about 2 months ago. The sweet bread and donuts were pricey but good. However the second time we went the sweet bread was totally different. Not the same at all as the first time. The doe was the same for the donut as for the danish. The doe had a yellowish color. When we took it back and tried to tell them what was wrong so they could look into it; they refused to hear that anything was wrong with their bread. They protested way to much.
I am not from New Jersey, but made a promise that I would stop here and put in a review. Very recently, I needed to send a tray of cookies to a friend for a memorial service. I am not from NJ so I did not know where to call to have a platter made up and delivered. I decided to give this bakery a try. I spoke to a very nice woman on the phone and explained what I needed and was looking for..without hesitation she offered her help to me and even went out of her way. Great doughnuts, always fresh and tasty cakes, authentic eastern European rye bread (plain or seeded), and most reasonably priced coffee around. Friendly service at this family owned and operated business.
Donuts were delicious, as were the cookies. The cheesecake was like nothing I'd ever eaten before, so light and airy and not dense. Everything was excellent, the prices are a steal for the quality, and the woman behind the counter was so helpful and sweet!
Limited selection, but the items they do have are pretty good. I feel like the items I bought might have been good, if it wasn't for the fact that they tasted old. Like, really old. My wife and I are 99% sure they were made yesterday, maybe even the day before. Luckily, the prices are not expensive.

Great Polish bakery. The best paczkis in Jersey. The donuts, pastries, hamantaschen, and rolls are excellent.
I used to live in Parlin and when I was pregnant I would always stop here for their fudge filled Italian butter cookies and star shaped fudge frosted cookies. I moved 30 mins away but I always make sure I stop by for these cookies every time I am headed to my parent's house (in that direction). I stopped here yesterday and the 2lbs are almost gone between the ones I left at my parents and took home. They are so addictive!
I visit this bakery when I'm buying sweets for coworkers. I've tried some of they're baked goods as well and they're are an excellent bakery. My ONLY problem whenever I go is the service. I always deal with the same woman who seems to always have a poor disposition towards me whenever I shop in there. She never greets me, never thanks me for shopping at the bakery, always seems annoyed when I ask the UNLISTED prices of some items. Shes been like that since the first day of me shopping there. I ordered a half of sheet strawberry shortcake to serve fifty people. I was amazed how great the cake presented and everyone loved it. Royal Bakery did a fantastic job. I'd give them a 10 for a great job and great presentation. They were not shy on the strawberries.

Honestly my favorite , fresh bakery ! Always have to go in the morning because it is not a mass production bakery , everything is made extremely early that morning and sold that day ,and anything else is given away to the homeless ! It?s a family owned bakery too which makes it feel even warmer when walking in. My go-to cookie is the chocolate drop , its so chocolates and soft ! Definitely a 5 star bakery in my eyes

Cookies were stall! I have been going to Royal Bakery for years but it has gone down hill in the past couple of years. I paid $19.50 for a pound of cookies for an occasion I was going to. Thank god I check them when I got home and I was disgusted to see that they were stall. I returned them on Friday, the following day and the girl behind the counter took them back but said she couldn't give me a refund until she talks to the owner. They took my number and said they would get back to me and I still haven't

This place was recomended to me because they have amazing paczki. I was going to graduation party and ordered 50 paczki to bring with me.Those paczki where the best ever,congratulation to the owner of royal bakery,brawo.
Was passing through during the evening and saw this bakery, decided to give it a try since I had to bring in pastries/cookies for my coworkers in the morning. Worst bakery I've ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I could see that it was a bad idea since there was barely any selection at all. They had only a few assortment of cookies and cannolis. Despite the lack of display, I decided to give the cannolis and 7-layer/rainbow cookies a try (usually safe options) because you know, never judge a book b
Went this morning to get Kolaczki polish cookies 2 days before Christmas. Was told that you need to order them weeks in advance, very disappointing and speaks of the service. I wont be going back.
I randomly came across this bakey. I loved it, it's a mom and pop shop. I bought their whole inventory of canols they had on display. I will say a bit pricey, but the canols were so yummy.

Purchased a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream. Cake was nicely decorated but the frosting was terribly sweet!! Woman working there was not very friendly :(
This is a very good family owned bakery. Everything is delicious. There's a parking lot. Holliday orders and lines can test your patience however...
