We love this corner spot, we?ve been coming here for years. I don?t know why it?s taken so long for me to write a review. The owner is the nicest lady. The coffee is great and we always grab a bag of the mixed donut holes. Love coming here whenever we?re in the neighborhood.

The best donuts in Austin! Everything I?ve had there is delicious: the donuts, the kolaches, the breakfast tacos, and the coffee. And the owner is so sweet and friendly. She often gives some extra donut holes, which are so good!!

I've been coming here for a while and it's amazing. I love the breakfast tacos, croissant sandwiches, Donuts, and more. The woman that runs the place is also the sweetest. I definitely recommend eating here.

Great donut shop in Austin. Probably better than Shipley Do-Nuts or Krispy Creme. Subtle sweetness and sizes. The lady was friendly and chose a dozen different donuts for me, including the mini donuts for free! They were delicious. And the price was reasonable so no complaints. Another thing I love about this store is that she used a smaller box for my order. The donuts fit in it just fine, and I could hold it with my finger. I?ll come back again to get another one!

I gave River City Donut a second chance but the variety of donuts just isn?t there. It seems to be slim pickins both times I?ve been. Unfortunately, I won?t be back. Friendly staff though

A friendly welcome and extra donut holes included for free! Great donut shop with tasty pastries and breakfast tacos. A welcome gem to the Metric side of Austin. Located in a busy strip mall where you can spend the whole day: pick up sweet donuts, karaoke at Canary Roost, eat pizza for lunch, and grab delicious coffee at Cafe Java. Austin isn?t just for the hipsters!

I walked in this place at 5:30am and had the freshest glazed donut I?ve ever had in my life. Literally, right out of the oven. I also ordered a coffee, a cinnamon roll and half a dozen of the glazed donut holes all freshly made. The total cost was less than $6. Unbelievable value! Open super early! Walking distance to ACC Northridge and close to the Domain. Great, friendly service too. A perfect way to get the day started early in the morning.

great food + great service! The croissant sandwich is huge! I got the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and it was so good I ate half before remembering to take a picture. There?s a 4 plug outlet in case you need to work or study or charge your phone. It?s definitely a calm place to be especially compared to the other brunch/breakfast spots in Austin. Saving this place for my next visit to Austin. Next time I?ll try the breakfast tacos and coffee.

Favorite mom and pop shop to get breakfast sweets from, their prices remind of the good old days when I was young (like 10 years ago) where donuts seemed like such an easy and cheap treat. It's definitely a family owned business and they're kind/courteous, devoted to their customers. Even though they were gone for a family emergency one time, they still had the forethought to leave a sign on the front door letting their customers know WHY they were closed, which is more than I can say for other businesses.

My fav local place for kolaches, soooo yummy. The donuts are great too. And the woman that runs the place is so kind.

Donuts were good, terrible selection, empty shelves and dirty cases, dirty windows, seller told me she had donut varietied she really didn't and tried to push other items on me saying they were the same when they weren't. Won't be back despite the good donuts. Many other spots have good donuts and are clean with good service.

My boyfriend and I live very close by and we LOVE River City Donuts! The service is always amazing, she treats us so well. Pricing is outstanding for the whole menu, the smoothies are yummy and the donuts are delicious! We probably visit once a week at this point. Much love!

Fantastic donuts, kolaches, and breakfast tacos. Get an apple fritter, you won?t be disappointed. If I lived near here I?d start every day with a couple of breakfast tacos for sure. Super friendly and extremely reasonable prices.

Visited this hidden gem for the first time today on a recommendation, and I can see it becoming a top spot for me. The lady working there is super sweet, and there are many sweet and savory pastry options in addition to tacos and donuts. I tried the potato egg and cheese taco, the strawberry smoothie, and some donut holes, all of which WAY surpassed my expectations. I also tried a maple donut. River City Donuts used to be my goto spot in south Austin before they closed their location. After I moved to the Domain I was super excited when I discovered they had opened a location right around the corner! These are easily the BEST donuts in North Austin. (I'm addicted to their donut holes, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters! They are also the only donut shop with chocolate cream filled donuts ????) They are always fresh and the owners are so nice. I am so happy we tried this place! I will definitely be back! The croissants and kolaches were amazing, some of the best I?ve ever had! The chocolate cake donut was super soft and rich, exactly the way I like it. The tacos were acceptable. The absolute best part was the sweet lady working there today. She was so kind and helpful. They were about to close so she ended up giving us a couple free donuts. I can?t say enough how much I enjoyed this experience.

Great customer service, donuts were very thick as if they had been fried too long or were out for a long time. Shop smelled very nice and was clean, employees were very friendly.

Average donuts. Sour sewage smell inside turned me off but this seems to be common in donut shops. I'm beginning to think it's not something they can help. I've smelled in countless different donut shops over the years. Maybe something in the dough making process creates the odor??????

As someone living next to this place: (1) it sucks that they aren't actually open by 5:36 (2) their kolaches use the bottom of the barrel hot dogs and oil based cheese. Lady frequently blasts loud Cambodian screaming from her phone if you try to sit down and eat.

This place is such a hidden gem! Not only are the donuts great, but their breakfast tacos are honestly better than most tacos spots in Austin. The owner/staff are super nice and frequently give us free donuts with our order. To top it all off, they have a drive thru which makes it even more convenient to get your donut fix!

Our favorite place for tacos and donuts. The staff is nice and friendly and goes above and beyond to make us happy. Tacos are the BEST and the salsa on the side is nectar from the gods. I stop by here once a week and the food is always fresh! I absolutely love the plain glaze donuts & breakfast tacos! Service is always fast & SUPER friendly.

This is the only place I will go to to purchase breakfast tacos because they taste like the ones my mother made. They're not greasy like in some restaurants, nor are they salty. The owners are such wonderful and nice people, which is why I am a repeat and loyal customer for like... 4 years now. Also their donuts and donut holes are super delicious! Especially the blueberry cake donuts.

So usually a donut place is just a donut place. But River City Donut is way better than that! We had kolaches, a croissant sandwich and donut holes and all of it was great. My sandwich was super dank and perfectly warmed. Also, their donut holes selection rolls 4-6 flavors deep, which is AWESOME! I haven't had a blueberry cake donut hole in years and they absolutely hit the spot. You have to try them out!

I enjoyed the donuts for years from the South Austin store, but it sadly closed. However, I was thrilled to see this one open and made the trek north. The donuts are superb, I highly recommend the chocolate honey dipped. Very friendly staff, I got an extra donut free because it was a slow morning.

Firstly, the coffee here is amazing.. it's better than the coffee place next door. Everything I have tried is great here including the kolaches, breakfast tacos and breakfast croissants. Of course the donuts are also fantastic and we've tried almost every kind now. The woman that runs this place is also one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met.

Amazing donuts!! I come here all the time after my classes at ACC NRG at the sweet lady at the cashier always greets me with a smile and always makes my day better. She gives me free donuts every time I come and they?re heavenly. Also their potato,egg,and cheese tacos and iced coffee are great!!! Highly recommend.

Delicious breakfast tacos! My co-worker brought some in and now I'm addicted, they are fantastic. There is a wide variety of items here, donuts, kolaches, tacos, croissants. There is a drive thru which is amazing! The pricing is great! The employees are super friendly and nice. I always buy too much because I can't decide but it's so affordable you wouldn't even notice for the amount of stuff you get. I always get the sausage breakfast taco!

I started eating here by chance, after meeting with a friend who lives in the area. It's a bit out of my way between dropping the kid off and work, but it's well worth the detour; I stop there pretty much every morning. Their taco sauce is absolutely amazing, and their donuts are good too.

The best donuts in town! Extremely fresh, and just PERFECT. Also, the breakfast tacos and sandwiches are amazing.

A lot of donut places are "similar" or "basic", but I still love them. River City could technically fit that mold, as they don't go far outside the box (like the super expensive, trendy donut places). That said, between their consistently awesome donuts and their superior tacos, it has become our go to donut place. Bonus points - the drive thru is incredibly convenient, especially during COVID times, and they are always super quick and kind.

We?ve been going to this place for years and I can?t recommend it enough. They have a drive through and everything tastes fresh for the same price as McDonalds. Check out one of the croissant sandwiches and you?ll definitely end up coming back. The potato eggs and cheese tacos with salsa are delicious!

Always a favorite of mine when visiting friends at the Folio apartments. The donuts are consistently great and the staff is friendly and personable. This is 'just' a donut shop but there is definitely something extra special about River City that puts it a cut above the rest.

This was a wonderful find!!! A nice large variety of doughnuts, and other Breakfast foods and drink. The ladies working were the nicest people, and highly responsive! Such a wonderful attitude! Nice little area to sit and enjoy your treat! Definitely a place that I will stopping by again!

I drive from Manor to have my doughnut fix here at River City. There are a few other doughnut places closer to my home but their doughnuts are dry, tasteless, tough and chewy, in my opinion. Come to River City for tender little doughnut holes that are so delicious!! The breakfast tacos are also so tasty, as is the salsa to go with them. The owner is a sweetheart who recognized me after one visit and always chats with you. She makes a fabulous latte, also.

You can taste the freshness in the food. The kolachis are amazing and the muffins are so soft and warm. I love the variety of donuts they have and everything is so clean and organized. Definitely worth the visit.

So grateful these guys are open today (Black Friday). I drove around to three other donut shops in the area that were all closed! Some of us have to work today and just want to an easy breakfast and some coffee after Thanksgiving. Not to mention their kolaches are amazing!

Came from Dallas to Austin for a training that I had to do. Got there when it opened at 5am. They asked if I could wait for fresh hot ones that I wanted. I had the time and I absolutely loved the experience. Wish there was a River Side Donuts in Dallas. I have trainings pretty regular in Austin so I plan to keep going back for those fresh hot donuts!! ;)

I actually came here to kill time and wanted to just drink a tea. I saw their plain glazed donut and said sure what the hell. I'll just eat a ?? for lunch (that's not how nutrition works but whatever). It's legit. For $1 that glazed donut is light and fluffy. It takes me back to my childhood. I prefer these donuts, due to their soft presence, to the Dunkin's and the Krispy Kremes. I know that this is a Texas thing at least, but go to an Asian-owned donut shop while you're here. Wonderful staff. Great kolachies. My kids' favorite doughnuts. The owner/operated/cashier gal tends to throw in a free doughnut or something extra for the kiddos. Also, they tend to be open on holidays when other nearby breakfast places are closed.

I?ve been going to River City Donut for years now. I used to live in the area and I always stop by when I?m in the area. I love the kolaches and buttermilk donuts. There is such a variety of different items and the staff is always friendly.

This is our weekly treat on Fridays. My kids love "kolache day"! They can usually tell me my order before I even open my mouth. Bacon, egg, and cheese croissants are the best!

Came here for a quicky breakfast on a Saturday I had to work. I came in around 10am, so it looked like a lot of their bfast sandwich selection was gone as I got the last of the bacon egg, cheese, croissants. I also got an americano and a choc donut w/sprinkles. Everything was just kinda OK. The Americano was not as strong as I would have liked and the sandwich was warmed in a micro, so it was not that great either and the donut was just so so, but everything for $6 wasn?t too bad either. I?ve had their food before, it?s quite good. 2 stars because the last couple of times I?ve went while they were supposed to be open, their open sign has been off. As well, the building looks empty, and there has been no response at the drive through.
