As a treat for finishing the school year, I took my two young kids to Rise Espresso & Dough Co. for the first time on Friday, June 13, 2025. We arrived during a huge rush so we stood in a long line (which is actually a good sign). We finally got to the front and ordered three donuts?one for each of us. My 8-year-old and 5-year-old each got a Reese?s bar and I got myself an apple fritter. The fritter is baked in an extra large size and I lucked out by getting the last one. The lady who took our order was ent
Amazing gluten free treats! Rise is my go to for specialty pastries for friends and family with dietary restrictions. I especially appreciate how they accept orders up to the day before pickup, while other bakeries require at least 48 hours of notice. I can?t recommend their gluten free banana chocolate chip muffins enough. You can?t even tell they are gluten free. The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating as well.
I haven't tried their food yet but in regards to their coffee. With the helpful information the lady gave me .. I ordered my coffee and it's was great. On my way out I heard about the dairy free options... And let me tell you what I think it's going to be my first stop on my payday lol.
OMGoodness, I have lived in this area for decades and never have stopped in here before. This donut shop is the BEST! Staff is attentive, kind and patient. The donuts are AMAZING! So many to choose from. My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly! Wow. We will definitely be back next time we indulge in a donut craving!
Well I am ruined for life. This was my first time here and This place just ruined donuts for me everywhere else. They might be the best donuts in the state. The chocolate isn't super sweet, but just the right amount of sweet. Like Amanda who was working this morning. They are not cheap at all, but so worth it. You will not regret the price, the calories or dealing with all the stupid round-a-bouts to get there.
This is one of the best donut locations. If you want something fresh and yummy! They sell out of the best ones quickly, so come in early! I've loved this donut/coffee shop for many years now and will keep coming back. ?? ??
?????????? Huge shoutout to Rise Donuts and the owner Chris, who came in to donate blood and went above and beyond by bringing our team custom coffee drinks and two dozen donuts including a box of gluten-free ones for our coworker with dietary restrictions. That kind of thoughtfulness really stands out. Not to mention, their pastries and drinks are some of the best Spokane has to offer. Lets show our support I?ll be a customer for life. Thanks for being awesome!
I only wish I had taken a photo before I ate it but it was seriously the most AMAZING gluten free cinnamon roll, and I pretty much worried for the next two hours whether it really was gluten free, it was that good! (Happy to report that I had no unpleasant celiac symptoms to follow). Owners are exceptional people. Well worth the drive from Idaho for future indulgences ??
A MUST STOP!! The shop is bright, clean, and very inviting! My husband and I asked for two ?yummy? drinks, as a dealer?s choice, and wow, they did NOT disappoint!! I asked Dani to pick two of her favorite donuts for me to try. I ended up with an apple fritter & blueberry donut. My husband ordered the maple bar. All items were AH- MAZING!! Thank you for the fantastic service and delicious goodies!! We will be back!
This place not only has the greatest name? the doughnuts and coffees are so delicious!!! I had the maple bar and apple fritter? so so good!!! My friend had the gluten free dairy free ones and said they were so good!!! The owner is super kind!!
Kind of a hidden gem, tucked next to a gas station? but so great! The fact they fry the donuts in beef tallow is automatically miles ahead, way less guilt for the treat! Super friendly as well.
Great coffee experience! I was greeted outside and again upon entering by a different employee. So many tasty options. I picked the pumpkin harvest latte and a maple bismark filled with buttercream. WARNING!!! It is REALLY GOOD! Both were amazing. The store was very clean. I will definitely be back!
My son bought a dozen donuts over. BEST donuts we ever had. Fresh, very tasty. Boston cream and fritters are the best ever. Boston cream filling thick and creamy. Well worth going here.
Our Saturday morning go to place. Fresh donuts, best coffee, sweetest staff AND GLUTEN FREE donuts and cinnamon rolls!!! So happy this place is here. Even if they sell out of a specific kind there are still endless choices to pick from for my kids. I never get donuts anymore with GF/DF restrictions so this place makes me so happy! Thank you for thinking of all customers!
Scrumdiddlyumptious used to be so good, and these donuts are PRETTY bad. They?re super heavy, the icing doesn?t go to the edge on top, and the flavor just isn?t there. Leaves a weird film in your mouth. Plus the barista kept questioning our choices when we were trying to order drinks.
Donuts were super fluffy and tasted amazing, they were large servings too and nicely priced for the 6 we got. They didn't have much variety left when I was there but it was an hour before closing on a Monday, so I'm sure if we went earlier they'd have more. But we still got donuts we were hoping for so it worked out. Will be going back next time I'm in the area :)
First time trying this place out and their donuts are absolute fire ?? the ladies were all incredible, beautiful people. It was a great experienece all around!! We will definitelybe going back in the near future! - John the guy in the snuggy ????
Rise Donuts are absolutely next-level! These donuts are MASSIVE?each one is a meal in itself?and they?re as delicious as they are big. The dough is perfectly fluffy, and the flavors are out of this world. Whether you?re into classics or something more unique, they have it all, and every bite is pure bliss. The glaze, toppings, and fillings are so fresh and indulgent, you can tell they put real love into their craft. If you?re looking for donuts that will blow your mind (and fill your stomach), Rise is the p
Took a wrong turn so decided to make the most of it and grabbed some donuts. They were both fresh and heavy!! Definitely recommend, good food and friendly staff.
Donuts were decent. If you are vegan or vegetarian you should know they cook in lard not oil. This should be advertised on their donut case as a heads up. Service was GREAT!
Genuinely the worst donut I have ever had, the dough was waterlogged and textureless while the icing was dry, lacked flavor and left a chalk sensation in my mouth. Furthermore, the owner proceeded to be incredibly rude and tell me that my review was fake
We stop by every Sunday morning for coffee and donuts for church. The girls are always friendly and make THE BEST COFFEE! They have delicious gluten free donuts too. We love you!
This place is awesome and the staff is super nice! I think I don?t have a higher score because of my own personal taste. The coffee was a little bit too bitter for me (but so is Starbucks). I did really like how they put less sweetener (caramel, chocolate sauce) than other coffee stands because I don?t like my coffee sweet. I got the chocolate gluten free donut with chocolate glaze and a vanilla gluten free donut with maple glaze. They weren?t bad at all but also nothing too exciting. They also had gf cinna
This place is such a gem in an area you wouldn?t expect it to be. All donuts are fresh and made with quality ingredients and care. Super friendly staff, eager to help. Great coffee, brews em strong. Surprisingly great prices. Even has a drive through and right next to the highway.
This is an excellent neighborhood coffee house & doughnut shop. Classic coffee drinks and donuts alongside allergy friendly selections as well! The energy is low key, relaxed, and simple. The pastries are excellent and the coffee is good.
My husband?s favorite donut place. I finally tried them this morning and they didn?t disappoint! Everyone was so friendly and really got my morning off to a great start. The owner even gave me tips on how to send the donuts to my husband overseas! Huge portions too.
You guys have to go and try their new coffee! I?ve had a delicious hot americano a couple times and its by far my favorite coffee spot in spokane now. Their new barista Tasha has made some great recommendations on drinks and we have loved every one of them. We of course also love their donuts, our go to is the fritters and maple bars. The place has been redone and looks sooo much better than the first time we went there. Erin and Chris the new owners are doing a fantastic job! Highly recommend ????
We really enjoy these donuts and the friendly service! My favorites are the blueberry fritters, cinnamon rolls w/ buttercream & peanuts on top, and the old fashioned donuts. My husband?s favorite is the Bavarian cream. They also offer good sized pup cups; our dog loves them!
Some of the best doughnuts I?ve ever had and they tasted super fresh !
Feb 19th, 2024: went through the drive through. Staff were friendly and kind. It was my first time and they were super patient and happy. I'd probably go back when I'm in town again.
Best Doughnuts and coffee, to make it even better, they use a healthy non-seed oil to fry their donuts.
Excellent customer service and communication figuring out pre-order of special donuts for birthday boy and his sister :) *DELICIOUS cherry cake donuts!
The maple bars will change your life. I wish I didn?t know. because they are dangerously amazing.
This is the first time we had tried this place. Their donuts are delicious!!! We arrived close to 10am on a Sunday and they were sold out of most of their stuff however, we got the apple and blueberry fritters, a maple bar, and an old fashioned. We loved everything and the fritters are huge! Service was quick and friendly, we will absolutely be back.
Very friendly folks. It's not everyday you find reasonably priced gluten free goods. Coffee was great, will be back
My family and I stopped by passing through. Picked up a half dozen donuts and so glad we did. The apple and lemon fritters were delicious! The apple had chunks in it, the lemon was the first I had ever had, glad we tried it. Others that stood out were the old fashioned and jelly. Customer service was very patient and pleasant to interact with. We had already been on a long drive so our two little ones asked a lot of questions and the ladies behind the counter were very patient and seemed excited to interac
New owners! Previously ScrumdiddilyUptious Donuts, NOW Rise Espresso & Dough? same amazing donuts since back in the day but now NEW coffee to go with it? cleaned up, remodeling in the process?friendly and cozy! ??+??=??
They have gluten free donuts and taste amazing!!! Employees are very kind and happy, too!
Pricey but Yum!. Huge fresh doughnuts. Amazing fritters and maple bars. Get there early for best selection naturally.
Tasty donuts. Sweet owner. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Beautiful donuts? sadly? that?s where it ends? texture taste and tenderness absent? apple fritters are huge, but overly doughy and zero apples? Raised cinnamon twist: tough, and chewy with very little cinnamon flavor (any raised variety should melt in your mouth)? Old fashions: dry and crumbly, not tender and moist? Have yet to find a good donut in the SPOKANE area ???. $23 for 7 beautiful donuts but was not enticed to take more than one bite of any of the seven.
The BEST gf cinnamon rolls I have ever had! The gals were super nice and so kind. The price was amazing!
I came in this morning for the first time. I was curious about the protein coffee. However, I was informed all their coffee is absolutely delicious. I tried a white chocolate mocha, got an old fashioned doughnut with maple and chocolate drizzled on top, and an apple fritter for my husband. Cost was pretty good, like 12$. The coffee is wonderful, the old fashioned doughnut is absolutely amazing. I recommend this place. I inhaled the doughnut.
Honestly, the latte was good and the donuts were good but there is nothing exciting about this place and service was really slow considering it was not at all busy. But be prepared for only three basic donuts; chocolate covered, sugar covered, or glazed. And none of the donuts are labeled, so they all just pretty much look the same with different shapes. I don't know, maybe I'm just not that knowledgeable about donuts but it was kind of a boring looking arrangement. That being said, not too terribly priced,
Bought a dozen, family did not like them at all, I like maple bars but they were small with no flavor. Waste of money. I do not recommend as good donut shop.
Amazing find! They have fresh gluten free options that are very delicious. If they can make doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, and cookies taste so good I can only imagine what the normal ones taste like.
Without doubt, the best doughnuts in Spokane! So fresh and delicious, with a great selection. Service is wonderful as well. Erin is the best! Though I live a bit further away and there are doughnut shops closer to my home, I'll gladly make a longer drive for these delectable treats.
Quick pit stop. Coffee was good, pastries were fresh and tasty.
Chris and Erin are wonderful, they have incredible coffee, delicious gf pastries, unmatched service, AND they fry their doughnuts in tallow, like come on!?!?! Can?t beat that!
The amazing cinnamon rolls in the display case next to the register are alway so good Plus they have upgraded to a larger sealed display case with more delicious product to try Love this donut espresso stop and how concerned they are about their customers and their products quality Their baking products are hard to resist, just like grandma use to make Thank you for
It?s a no for me, dawg. I?ve given this 3 tries and I give up. I realllly wanted to like it here because of the GF options, but they?ve been sold out 2/3 times I?ve gone (still mid morning). The $6 coffee special was SO SWEET I had to throw it out after a few sips. The cherry fritter I got when there were doughnuts had an unpleasant, almost bitter aftertaste. I think they changed their oil to lard to be ?healthier,? that?s my best guess where the off taste came from because I?ve never had a donut taste lik
Stopped in last week got half dozen donuts so much baking powder in them taste awful and fifteen dollars and change do not see myself going back Gave them to the wild turkeys ?? Wasn't driving all the way back !
Gluten free that?s actually fresh with more than a single offering. Stopped by after walking my dogs, the shop was busy which is always a good sign early on a Saturday. I expected to see a couple gluten free cinnamon rolls & a donut choice, to my surprise they had a dozen different gluten free options & they were freshly baked! I had this amazing gluten free cake donut with some magical frosting. The crumb was nice & soft. You could pass this donut off as a regular gluten loaded donut. Very good. I will be
Delicious donuts and they have gluten free options!
Doughnuts are a lot smaller than they used to be, prices are still the same, pretty good doughnuts overall.
THE BEST maple bars! More of a frosting than maple glaze. Reminds me of middle school when the cook would make homemade maple frosting for the donuts! ??
THANK YOU THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOURS TRULY ELVIS AARON BREWER MUSICIAN SINCE THE SUMMER OF 84
Excellent doughnuts (especially the apple fritters), helpful staff and high praise from my family with celiac who they made a special order of gluten free products for. Highly recommend!!
Been going here for 9 yrs. Loved the doughnuts. Usually drive thru for me. I walked in to terrible service from lady at till. No greeting, just looked at me. I paid for 3 doughnuts including tip. Only words spoken from her was how i put my card in reader incorrect. No thank you for coming in, etc. Lost my business. In this day and age, service goes a long way. P.S. I was only customer at the counter. March 25, 2024.
So this morning was my first time coming to Rise. First and foremost when I pulled up the smile from Tasha and her wonderful attitude was awesome. The coffee!!! AMAZING! The donuts scrumptious. Tasha was so knowledgeable and friendly. I will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you for great service and great food.
Dang! Had to get a ?fancy? cup of Joe - then saw the maple glazed real pumpkin baked donuts - that?s all she wrote ;-)
We got a few gluten free and dairy free treats for Valentines Day and were DELIGHTED! The espresso chocolate scone and the donut were both amazing. We can't wait to go back. They have plenty of seating and are a great spot to stop with your family for a treat!
The donuts are the same ones the old owners made, and they are very good. Unfortunately prices have about doubled on everything and absolutely no pricing posted on anything. Lots of coffee drinks, no prices. Pretty much charge you what they want, you have no way of knowing. Donut?s, again no prices. I actually asked and still didn?t get a straight answer. The woman said they vary in price, what does that mean?? I?ve never been to a coffee stand that doesn?t have all the different prices posted. A dozen ma
An adorable bakery with delicious products! I ordered some vegan maple bars and original glaze and they were amazing! We couldn?t even tell the difference. My nana is recently lactose intolerant and was so sad to not have any goodies for Christmas. These donuts made for the perfect treat! I also ordered their chai?and as a chai fanatic?there?s is the best!
The gluten free options are INCREDIBLE. The chai maybe earl grey (?) cake was to die for. The texture is perfect even 2 days later and traveling cross country with it. The spicy chai latte is not to miss either! So grateful for their gluten free section and if I lived in Spokane, I would be in every day. (I also really appreciate their candor responding to reviews, it?s refreshing!) Thank you for making my trips to Spokane a treat.
I went mid-morning and most of their donuts were sold out. A little disappointing for a donut shop. So I was left with little selection. I tried their mini donuts, and was not impressed. They were too dense and heavy for donuts, especially for minis. I personally thought they tasted like pancakes. Would I go back? I wouldn't go out of my way, but of if I was in the neighborhood, and it was early enough in the morning, than sure! I might be open to trying some of their other donuts as long as they are in s
My car had a flat in -2 degree weather, and I was thankful for this place where I could enjoy a cup of amazing coffee while waiting to be rescued. The service was spot on, and the donuts looked amazing!! If you are looking for a place that isn't your run of the mill coffe/donut place, come check this place out. You won't be disappointed!
The only really good thing I could say about this place is the donuts are big. The Customer Service was not good at all. The girl assisting me, seem to be in a bad mood and it showed. The donuts were just too sweet and $3 each. Safe to say I will not be back again.
Stopped in at 9:20 Wednesday Morning and they were already out of pretty much all of their donuts. We're told that they were very busy and that was unusual but I have seen other recent reviews that suggest otherwise. Also, the donuts I did get were stuffed in a bag so all of the frosting from one got on to the others. Also, didn't care for texture or flavor. Giving 2 stars only because the Chai was really good. Interesting How you take 2 weeks to respond to my review before telling me exactly what you
Best maple bar ever! And the service was incredible
Delicious!! The cinnamon rolls were warm and absolutely amazing. My friend said her barvarian cream was the best she ever had ( and big)! Love this place!! Great find!!
I live just down the road from this place. I honestly cannot find words to describe how much I love this place. The ladies behind the counter are always nice, even when they seem flustered about being a little bit busier than usual. I really love the fact they went out of the way to get almond milk for me so I can more enjoy the awesome coffee and donut. May I recommend a Medium White Chocolate Raspberry mocha with almond milk at a low temp with a Boston cream filled Donut? Love this place, love the smiles
Great donuts, but the service is not great. I have stood in line 15 minutes waiting to get donuts being ignored because they can't sell donuts while trying to make all the fancy coffee with only 2 people. Happened too many times
Im not typically one to leave a bad review, and the donuts here are tasty but the last several times we?ve been in the staff have been so rude, the worst being today. The bummer is it doesn?t seem to matter who?s at the counter. We?ll be finding somewhere else to fill this craving.
Your in for a real treat the little homemade cake donuts wow amazing. The coffee wa the best espresso I've ever had and if you like apple fritters wow the size of a plate not greasy. My goodness they are the best doughnuts I've ever had. We placed a order to pick up. You had better get there sell out everything
There?s two things I?m extremely picky about - my coffee and the donuts I?ll be enjoying with it. This place excels at both! The donuts are large, fluffy and perfectly iced/glazed. The coffee is strong, but not overly bitter and the owner definitely knows how to make a specialty drink. Next time I am in Spokane I will make sure this is on my list to visit again. Absolutely wonderful! PS. The owner is so kind. She makes me miss the southern hospitality I grew up around.
I grew up with Scrupms donuts, these are not the same, very disappointed. Very little flavor, tough and dry. I used to say these were the best. Now, I can't recommend at all. And very overpriced.
I was worried not seeing the old sign. Girl we?re polite and the building smelt amazing. Had to new smooth aroma to it. Order a vanilla Late, and shut the front door, it was amazing. Beans were so good. Smoothie, bold, perfect. . The new donuts delicious
Donuts are good coffee is not. The donuts are giant which is great and we decided to snag a coffee while there. It was too bitter for my taste, my husband likes bitter coffee but didn't like his either. Gave it another try thinking maybe it was a fluke, unfortunately I wasn't a fan again. They seemed like they were roasted a bit too long.
I was lucky, there were still donuts left at 9:00 this morning. Great donuts, but the mocha I got was exceptional and pretty too. Sorry, no pics everything is gone. I am a customer for life now.
Do not get the gluten free options if you are allergic/celiac. They should be advertised as gluten friendly, definitely made me sick. Other than that food was good, prices are reasonable and service was decent
Absolutely wonderful donuts! The Maple Bars are the best ever and the customer service is great! There are a lot of reviews complaining about donuts being gone early and all I have to say is ... ?Of course they are gone early! They are fabulous!? Get there early and remember that legit donut shops close when they sell out!
every dang day when i drive to work i have to physically distract myself so i do not go here and purchase a gluten free cinnamon roll. a couple of these cinnamon rolls would easily be my death row meal. gf donuts are mid but the cinnamon rolls are god tier.
We tried one of the signature pastries: donut meets cinnamon roll with buttercream and peanuts. Very sweet but good. The girl scout cookie latte was not oversweet with generous whipped cream on top per request. Would go back.
I just finished the last of my donuts that I picked up yesterday. They were still pretty fresh and tasty. They were delicious the first day, and I bet they are super good if I could only get myself out of bed to get there shortly after they open. Ha ha. I have tried many donut shops in town and this will be my go to donut shop. Not only are the pastries good the staff is very friendly. It?s a smallish place with a nice neighborly atmosphere. Try them if you are in the east valley.
The donuts are tasty, but over-priced. Standard offerings like maple bars or chocolate bars are easily a dollar more than they should be. Other donut shops at least justify higher prices with either bigger donuts or non-standard offerings. *Update 9/7 response to owner - We were there on 7/24 with an order of (1) maple bar, (1) apple fritter, (1) chocolate bar, (1) chocolate filled, (2) chocolate cakes.
Didn't find anything special about these donuts. Came early in the morning so I could try them fresh. Mine didn't seem fresh more like they were laying overnight. Too expensive for 1 donut that pretty much taste exactly like a store bought donut some store donuts taste even better & are like $1.
Found this great spot just down from the Spokane KOA when we stopped for gas, and happy we did! Delicious gluten-free donuts and sweet rolls and wonderful espresso drinks with dairy-free options. So tasty!! ????
