Best donuts in Maryville! With a long history of being in this local, I remember getting the donuts here on my way to school over 15 years ago. Parking is convenient in the back, just be careful parking in the front as it is on a busy road. Pricing is very fair and great for catering needs. I?ve never had a bad experience but I would highly recommend going in before the afternoon. By the time the store is closing they donuts aren?t nearly as good as when they are fresh. All around great place.
Went here for the first time today! I?m pregnant and have been craving donuts for weeks, and these absolutely hit the spot. Hands down the absolute best! The sweet woman at the checkout was super nice to us! 100% will be back.
Just stopped in for our first time, and it was a great experience. I didn?t catch the name of the woman helping us and running the register, but she was so kind and took the time to explain to us every donut they had. She also had recommendations, didn?t make us feel rushed, and make it an overall great experience. As we walked out, the gentleman making the donuts waved too. What a kind and inviting environment. Not to mention the donuts we tried as soon as we left were phenomenal. I think Krispy Kreme has
Rarely ever give 5star, but this place is special. Nostalgic spot, local donuts for 100 years or something. The fritters are awesome, never had a bad anything from here. Different owners, same recipes. Best donuts in the area, stop in early they usually sell out fast.
I have never EVER tasted a better donut in my life. I am visiting my sister and brother in law and one day for breakfast my brother in law got us donuts from Richy?s and I seriously couldn?t believe how amazing it was. Hands down the best donut I?ve ever had. Whenever I visit, this will be my first stop!
Employee was super kind and the moment I walked in the smell made me stop and just take it in. I tried their cronut for the first time with little hope but it is the best thing I have ever had it was Heaven. If I could give 10 stars I would highly highly recommend.
Incredible donuts! Today, I scored 2 cronuts - the croissant donut. They were the best, but I still love their classic glazed donut. Joe, behind the counter, is great and plays the best music. It's not a weekend without Richy Kreme!
I?ve heard people talk about Richy Kreme in Maryville like it?s some kind of local legend?and now I understand why. This isn?t just a donut shop; it?s a place where warmth, nostalgia, and seriously amazing food all come together. From the moment you step in, the smell is unforgettable?freshly fried dough, sweet vanilla glaze, and that warm bakery scent that makes you feel like you?ve walked into your grandma?s kitchen on a good day. On my first visit, I was greeted by a staff member named Sarah. She had t
The Donuts look so good! The employee that helped me today was very professional and well informed. It was a great experience, most likely will be back again if I'm ever in Maryville.
So much for National Doughnut day. They are promoting a free Doughnut and I was charged for 4 when I only ordered three. And if it was one free per person ( Party of two in my order) I should have only been charged for one and I was charged for 4. They weren't even busy , no line. So there isn't really an excuse after I even said something to the lady. No free doughtnut for me! : (
We just happened to pass this place on the way to a local laundromat. We had to stop for a donut. Honestly I had the best Red Velvet donut I've ever had in my life. It was so moist and tasty. My son opted for a glazed donut and he said it was delicious. I had a bite and I had to agree with him and I don't usually like glazed donuts. I also got an apple fritter and he also got a cinnamon bun. Both of these were also delicious. The lady working there was very friendly. My only regret is that I was only visiti
Honestly, this blueberry pancake doughnut deserves its own holiday. It?s like breakfast and dessert had a love child, and it came out perfect. Fluffy, fruity, and drizzled with what I can only describe as pure happiness. 10/10 would risk a sugar coma again.
Sarah has the perfect personality for this job! During morning rush she greeted everyone with a smile and was a boss at multi tasking while answering the phones & getting everyone?s orders! She made our morning.
Came here only because donut palace was sold out of the ones we wanted. These donuts were more doughy than donut palaces soft pillowy ones. The Bavarian kreme custard tasted pretty good. It was stuffed so much with cream that it almost busted out of the bottom. so if you like yours with lots of custard than you?ll like these! The regular glazed donut was okay. I just don?t like that the texture is more doughy and not melt in your mouth. They have myrtles bakehouse cookies for sale and they?re huge so I had
Safe to say Richy Kreme is one of the best if not THE BEST donuts in the the Maryville/ Knoxville area. I?ve been there plenty of times and always satisfied. Went in today Saturday March 19, 2022. They had Girl Scout cookie themed donuts. Snagged the Samoa and dosido and they were amazing. All their donuts are flavorful and a treat. I also recommend the cinnamon rolls when they?ve got them! I usually check their instagram page for upcoming events and donut releases
This is the best donut shop in east Tennessee. Hands down the best donuts I've ever eaten. The varieties are endless and the quality is second to none. They are rich & decadent. My favorite is the chocolate glazed fallowed by the boston cream. There is truly something for everyone at Richy Kreme. Now they have kolaches as well. I got the sausage & cheddar. It was very good. I highly recommend a visit to Richy Kreme but get there early as they can sell out.
Not as good as they use to be! I?ve been eating these for 50 years and can remember when Mr. Richardson used to to have hot fresh donuts. I don?t think they ever have hot fresh donuts anymore. Not sure what?s changed but they just aren?t as good.
Such yummy goodness to be had here!!! The donuts are absolutely wonderful! And what a cute little shop. It was very quiet the day/time we visited here... would be a nice place to sit, enjoy a sweet treat and relax for a bit. Easy to see from the road and easy enough to park. Enjoy!!!
I wasn't in the restaurant, but had a cronut! OMG. One of the best pastries I have ever eaten. Flaky, rich, fluffy and sweetly satisfying, is how I would describe it. Thanks Richy Kreme!
Who can complain about a maple glazed bacon donut? The donut dough and glazes were excellent. The Bavarian creme filling could have been a bit more custardy and more vanilla for my taste, but I enjoyed it.
Amazing amazing amazing! Best donuts ever! Fresh donuts, great service, and the place looks so awesome! Can?t wait to come back.
Hands down one of the best donut shops we have had in the Knoxville area! There were lots of delicious options, everything tasted fresh, and the service was great! We got an assortment and enjoyed all of them! Make sure to stop in if you?re in the area! We are most of them before we snapped a picture so I?ll have to get one next time!
Locally owned & opperated Hometown Favorite! We love that they've partnered with another local business, Vienna Coffee. It's a perfect pair!
Found this by accident and I'm sooo glad i did..the love is in the delicious flavors and beautifully made donuts..thank you????Maple covered had already disappeared in this photo!!?? but the pumpkin cake was best i ever had..Apple fritters for later, can't wait????
My family, and I decided to stop in this AM for a quick breakfast treat; however, the donuts were cold, dry, and tasteless. My husband?s Boston Cr?me was so hollowed out and empty, it made us laugh - additionally, my toddler who loves donuts, only ate the toppings to her donuts? so, I don?t think we will be back.
Bought two dozen, shared them at work. I maybe got to have one. Fantastic.
I came in around 11:15 on a Sunday morning and unfortunately their computer system was down. Even though it was still only a weight of about 10 minutes with four people in front of me and about 8 behind me when I got to the counter. Got an assorted top shelf. Doesn't go paid in cash to save them. Some worry and time. Always enjoyed their donuts and we'll be happy to come back.
They have a good product to work with. but the donuts were underproofed and overproofed. There was not much pride in the product. a little effort you can make the donuts look so much better in the Showcase.
I don?t buy a lot from f doughnuts so I don?t really have a comparison, but it was $18 for a mixed dozen. We went on a Saturday afternoon but they were still pretty tasty. My fave was the cinnamon glazed and that?s saying something cause I?m a jelly donut fanatic. The jelly one was also good though.
Not really worth going to this place. Their traditional frosted glazed donuts are all basically inedible because of how overly sweet they are. Their speciality stuff on the top shelf of the display were all pretty bad too, and almost all stale. Out of a dozen different donuts I only thought one of them was decent.
I love this place the donuts are always fresh, it is great to take anyone for a true soft donut. The milk is the best milk I have ever had and it goes great with the many flavors you can choose of pastries. My husband's favorite is the maple bacon, yes bacon. And mine is the strawberry creme filled. It's amazing how great they taste Even the next day. It's a beautiful location to take a photo for the memory book for the kids right outside a mural of a donut. And the bakery is right next door for amazing sme
They always give me the smaller donuts :( and I feel rushed when ordering
My husband went in to get our family donuts and they were disgusting. They tasted sour and incredibly dry. My 4 year old who loves donuts wouldn?t even eat them. This place just keeps getting worse and worse. So disappointing and probably won?t be back.
Good doughnuts friendly staff. We bought an assortment and all fresh and tasty. Came late morning and most sold out but that's how a bakery should be. Our first visit so we were disappointed that they don't put pastries in a box. Instead they wrap them on parchment paper then stack in a paper sack. This causes all the chocolate, maple, etc topping to stick and separate from the doughnut. Ruined the delicious product. Location also tough to park and leave since it's directly off a busy street so u have to ba
Phenomenal donuts from here, dont even bother going to Dunkin. I got the strawberries and cream, chocolate cream filled and vanilla iced with sprinkles and they were all amazing and way better than I thought they were gonna be. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I actually didn't ask for the chocolate cream ones, I wanted the maple and cream and when I got home I saw that my order was messed up. But, regardless, they were still really good so I'm happy. I'll be back!
This our favorite doughnut spot. We always like trying the different doughnuts and every single one has been amazing. And the ladies in there are always so helpful and sweet.
I am so thankful for the two closing people. I needed to use the restroom so badly and there wasn't a restroom anywhere. I walked up just as there were locking up and the absolute sweetest lady told me that they were closed but would help me,and asked what I needed. She let me use the restroom and then she gave me a doughnut and one for my brother in law. Both of the employees were so kind and im so thankful. Also the doughnuts were AMAZING. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I will be coming back.
The donuts here are OK, but they dump so much sugar on them that it is hard to tell the quality of the actual donut underneath. I don't get the need to put both glaze AND icing on a donut. If you put that much sugar on a piece of bread it would probably taste about the same, just the texture would be different. If you want to have an actual good donut where the toppings are just an added bonus and not the whole flavor (or you can even eat it *gasp* plain), try Status Dough in Knoxville or Farragut.
The BEST donuts in Knoxville and Maryville! They have all the traditional flavors you love plus new flavors that with blow your mind! ?? The owner is pretty awesome too!
I?d heard great things about this place and I was quite disappointed. I thought the glazed donut was just okay, I didn?t finish mine. I was mostly upset about the service, I have had kolaches in Texas and really enjoyed them. I asked the lady at the counter what kinds they had and she said pointed to one with and said hot dog, and said the other was cheddar jalape?o. Well, I bought that one as I?m vegetarian and bit into it?only to find a breaded sausage in it. I was very grossed out and disappointed that
Wonderful donuts, I prefer them over Krispy Kreme. They're very soft and always fresh. Our family loves the cronuts. The prices are very reasonable. The location is convenient and the people have been really nice! If I had to give a suggestion, I wish there were a little more consistency. For ex, I went in one time for a strawberry cream and it was all cream and a small red smear at the end (I'm not really sure how that happened lol) and then the second time it was the same but all strawberry and no cream.
This place has the best donuts and I never pass through Maryville without grabbing a dozen. And don't think about getting the donuts unless you also get the freshest milk that has ever touched your lips. Really amazing employees top it all off perfect. Highly recommend this place for sure
I'd give them 6 stars if I could, it's seriously the best. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do, and rightfully earned IMO. Top notch service, place was super clean, and oh buddy are the donuts perfect. They had all the fan favorites, and then some. They even had my personal favorite; Maple glazed with bacon on top. Quit reading this and just go get something for yourself bro, trust me.
Update: You can tell a lot about a business by how they manage a problem. I heard from the owner of the shop about my review. Have to say the level of effort he took to reach out, understand my concerns, and share with me how important his customers are made me update my review. Things happen but great businesses thrive because of their commitment to service. Will be giving it another go! Moved to the area in Dec and waited until my second visit to review as wanted to be sure I was fair. Donuts: 4 s
There donuts are good.Great place to visit.
I give it a one star for the price and presentation of the product. I ordered a dozen punchies for pick up on Fat Tuesday. When the lady at the counter told me the price, I thought she was kidding. It cost $44.00 for the 12 small punchies, they were put sideways in the box and jamed together. Come to find out 2 of them did not even have the filling in the middle of them. Save your money and buy from the store, just as good.
Had a coupon for a free dozen donuts but had to buy $24.00 to get it. School coupon books are useless. Parking is a nightmare trying to pull out on a busy road.
So glad we finally decided to try them out. Amazing donuts, we tried 12 different flavors and all were super tasty, soft and fresh! And holy cow with that Peaches and creme donut, it was a pure delight! Also the lady at the counter was super friendly and welcoming which will keep us coming back! Thanks
Apple Fritters were fantastic. Strongly recommend if in the area
This small donut shop is worth a stop everytime you are near. The donuts and other delicious treats are made right next door. There is limited parking in front, but more in the back. The donut are just delicious, not too sweet but just right. Other baked items I have tasted are also excellent! Heck, even the milk is rich and tasty.
These donuts are amazing and made by people who really care. It?s always fun to see what new flavor combos are out. The best thing is the way they collaborate and support other small businesses. We love the local drink options available and pop ups with gluten free.
My first mission (after moving here 9 months ago) was to find my favorite donut shop and cookie spot! I asked the locals on Facebook and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was someone who owned both! I was told that the best donuts around were at Richy Kreme and the best cookies were at Myrtles Bakehouse! They were not wrong....OMG! By far the best donuts and cookies I've ever had! I became obsessed and visited them at their separate locations often! I've been in love ever since! I've tried many, M
Absolutely love their doughnuts. I wish they would open another location in East Knoxville. But definitely worth they drive and money. Very reasonably priced.
Great donuts at a reasonable price. The associate working the counter was extremely friendly and informative. We had not been in a while so we had a few questions and she happily answered all of them. $6 for half a dozen mixed donuts isn't cheap but I thought it was fair. The donuts tasted great and had great consistency. Overall I was very happy with our visit and the donuts!
Before reading on, the owner and I had a phone good phone conversation and cleared the air. The owner was very kind and understanding. I will say a positive first, their donuts are really good! However, they only make a select amount and if they run out, they don't seem to make more. Even during the morning rush 6 am through 8 am. I've had a similar issue with Ricky Kreme in the past, but three times now, they are out of donuts by 8am. There have been plenty of times where they were well stocked, but the l
Donut tasted great, and the red color reminded me of my beet farm back home in Pennsylvania.
We have been going to Richy Kreme for several years and we were so excited to see the new owners and shop. The donuts were great at the start, big donuts, so full of creme and great priced. Now they are still pretty good but they are small, much less creme and much higher priced. So sad!
Many changes have taken place since the original owners. They are supplying some stores and restaurants apparently, so it's more institutionalized now. The donuts used to be very unique, but it seems they are getting more standard like Dunkin these days. Still good donuts, but pretty expensive for what you get. Richy Kreme has been one of the area's outstanding, unique experiences for decades, but I'm afraid its growth has cost it a lot of its special flavor.
Awesome donuts and such a staple in this town
We love Richy Kreme! Their donuts are always so delicious and new varieties are popping up often. The staff takes pride in what they do and has truly made this the best donut place in town.
The best donut place hands down! If you haven?t been there you need to go ASAP! because you definitely don?t know what you?re missing! They have anything from glazed donuts to eclairs, to my all time favorite the maple bacon donut ??and they also support other local businesses which is amazing, they carry Cruze farm milk!???? and if you?re lucky they will have cinnamon rolls on occasion and their sister company myrtle?s bake house has HUGE cookies?? tried the scruffy city today it was so good! I can?t wait
Bought two dozen for business meetings, and they were a big hit! Good, unique taste, and nice mixture of options. Our visitor from Washington DC was delighted and even took one for his trip back home! Remodeling and parking out back are great changes! The ladies are always pleasant. I'll be back again for sure!
Oldest donut shop in TN and the quality of the donuts and fun staff is why. Parking is right on the street so just be careful.
This is probably Maryville's favorite morning stop. If there was a better known place to eat in town it would be a hard claim. Everything here is super sweet as you would expect. I'm sure you could probably get your coffee just as sweet if you wanted. Prices are good, as is the variety. This is a hard place to get in and out of. Also plan to come in the AM, they are likely to sell out by lunch or soon after. New ownership is making great stripes to continue traditional treats an also grow the business to n
50 years of eating these great donuts ?? ??, love ? this place
I am very happy I found these folks ?? I have always been a Krispy Kreme boy, but not anymore. I love the selection this store carries! I don't mind paying more for a dozen either because the donuts are quality and taste amazing. Keep up the good work ??
I've lived in Maryville my entire life , this is hands down the best donuts in town. They take pride in this company and it shows . Give them a try, I promise you won't be disappointed!!
Been there since the 1950s, maybe longer. A favorite childhood memory is ordering a dozen donuts that were delivered warm, with grease stains on the paper bag. Each donut was huge, the size of a big saucer. The modern version is closer to modern donut size and standards, and still exceptional, with a larger range of filled donuts. Best place for donuts in East Tennessee.
By far, the best donuts around! I love every flavor they come out with, but my favorite is their maple bacon donut. Doesn't get much better than that.
These donuts are so good. They might not always look ?perfect? but their loads better than the ones that so. Great for a special treat when family is visiting from out of town or to treat an office staff you care about.
The donuts are great, and I?m not a donut lover, my fianc? is. He raves about them since he grew up here and we just moved back. But it appears they don?t need any additional business. I walked in last December, twice, to give this family owned business an opportunity to not only do business with my company, TSA (since they created Donut Day) for and immediate project and National Donut Day, but also for my own wedding, left my name and number with the young girl upfront and was told the manager would be g
There's always different kinds of doughnuts, and they're all really good, and the staff is really nice.
Hands down the best donuts I?ve ever had! They have such a great staff and atmosphere, I always feel so welcome! They have such a wide variety of donuts daily and I can?t wait to keep coming back to try each flavor!
One of the best donut places in town. This locally owned shop sells everything from your basic glazed donut to specialty gourmet donuts. If they happen to have cookies in stock, try them. They are worth the sticker shock. (I strongly recommend the chocolate chip cookie and the scruffy city cookie for those interested)
Best donuts & cinnamon rolls in town! Can?t wait to go back!
Their donuts are the best in Blount County, and a sack of their donut holes are nothing short of amazing. The staff has always greeted me and my kids with smiles ? even let my kids have a spoon of frosting one time! They have the hallmark friendliness of East Tennessee and I try to get over there once a week.
Went there for the Lemon glazed which is my fav and they barely had any donuts at all?.i won?t be going back here, very unfortunate because it used to be great! I?ll be going to Krispy Kreme from now on
Poor service. Ordered two boxes of donuts with full intentions of coming to pick them up. When I called to make sure they were ready they told me that someone besides me picked up my order, which I did not tell anyone to pick them up for me, and their response was ?well we are closing here soon and have no more donuts?. I gave them plenty of time to make it up to me and even called them the next day and they pretty much told me oh well again. Will never go back there and will encourage others not to.
The make them fresh almost every morning. I got a dozen for $11. Best bang for your buck. The salted caramel is awesome and the cream filled ones are sooo tasty. A few had a less filling than i wanted but otherwise it is a great idea to pick up something to eat from here.
Me and my family have been getting donuts here for almost 40 years. There isn't one flavor that isn't delicious. I've had other donuts from other shops and these are the best of the bunch. Prices are very reasonable and the service is great.
Been a Richy Kreme customer since the 60's. Today was first visit since the remodel and the donuts have definitely changed, not as much glaze as before. I will give them one more chance but from reading other reviews about the recipe change dont hold out much hope.
I love their doughnuts, and I am a doughnut fan. The Maryville location gets hit hard, so order or go early to get the best selection. This is my favorite doughnut hook up right now.
I am not a huge donut fan but my husband loves Richie Cream...or he did love them. Recently, I picked up a few for him as a surprise. He was so disappointed! He said the simple glazed were very different in texture and flavor, and that the Apple Uglies were just plain awful. No apples, and basically just a squished up cinnamon roll. He says he will not be going back there again. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful.
1 star for the simple reason of the girl working at around 11:30 on 9/7/2022 was horrible! We felt like we were inconveniencing her by even going into the shop. Not friendly at all and was actually there several minutes before she even bothered to turn around to look at us . She did speak when we came in but we didn?t deserve her attention or eye contact. Customer service is definitely not her strong suit .
Drove out here because it said on Google their hours of operation were 6am to 5pm...get there at 3pm and the hours of operation are 6am to 2pm (or sellout) and employees sitting in parking lot across street smoking. Won't try again. While sitting there 3 cars drove up doing the same thing. Unprofessional not to have correct hours posted. Edit: the workers wore aprons and walked into the store where the bulk baking supplies are on the right... hopefully they were your employees and not some random people w
Richy is best overall donut spot in Maryville. Only weak spot on the menu is the apple fritter, Donut Palace fritter is much better and 3 times the size. Richy is definitely the place to go unless you want an apple fritter.
Talk about exceptional! From the doughnuts to the service this place continues to live up to its name and provides ample reason why it?s been around for so long. The staff here are one of a kind in the hospitality and the doughnuts are hands down, bar none, the best doughnuts I have eaten in the history of my doughnut eating days. This is a must try for anyone in the area. It is so worth the drive no matter how far away. My personal favorite are the jelly filled.. ??
Great donuts, none of the old frying oil flavor or the stiffness from being left out in the air for too long. Reasonably priced, less than $1 a donut if you buy a dozen. Accepts Credit, but you have to make a purchase of >$5. Location is a hole in wall across from the Baseball field, so watch out or you'll drive right by it, like I did.
