I love this lil donut shop the food is great, it?s always super clean and the service is so fast.
Update: 11/25/24: AGAIN show up at 6am and no lights no nothing, closed. Note: "bakers dozen 14"? Do we have to ask for that & pay more? I have NEVER rcv'd 14. Always 12 except on a few occasions since I spent so much she would throw in an extra. On the front door big and bright it says "open 7 days a week 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m".. This is the sixth time out of 10 times I have come after 5:00 a.m. to get donuts and they're closed. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else. They are quite expensive. The
Ordered two "ham and cheese sandwiches" opened the bag later to these buttered, fluffy, flaky savory pastries with jalapenos baked in and provolone and ham rolled inside. My first thought was that they were holy and absolutely DIETIC and DIVINE upon biting into them. The proprietor will memorize your order if you're a regular, and the place itself is pleasant to be in. I do not give out five stars lightly, but this location has more than earned it.
Very nice people first of all that run this place. Customer service was great. Clean environment. No choices for flavored cream for coffee. The donuts had great presentation but a bit heavy for my liking. Turkey croissant and fries were okay but pricey in comparison to other places. Fries were $2.50 but a small amount for the price. I think I will try other items and give this place a second try all the same.
This is hands down going to be my new donut spot. The employees in there were so kind and even gave me free donut holes! They had some really unique donuts like cake red velvet and a frosted donut with fruity pebbles on it. I highly recommend Rainbow donuts if you are looking for quality donuts and nice employees.
LOVE THIS PLACE! My favorite business in the neighborhood. The owner is such a joy and couldn?t be more kind. The donuts are fresh & I?ve fallen in LOVE with the breakfast burritos. The Thai tea is my favorite on a summer day. Support her & keep her in the neighborhood for many years to come.
$0.99 donuts with incredible service. Went one hour before their closing time and many flavours were already sold out. Wanted to try their muffins. In the end we bought a Cronut, a cake donut and a Thai milk tea, and got ourselves a free blueberry donut! They all taste awesome ??
2014: These donuts melt in your mouth. In fact their entire line of pastry is just so mouth watering it's hard to decide what to enjoy. Add to that the people behind the counter have wonderful smiles and a great attitude of service that makes the experience one you want to come back to often. 2015: One of the experiences we look forward to when returning to the valley is the wonderful donuts and pastry these folks serve with such generous smiles. We were not disappointed. I don't know how they do it but t
The people here are super friendly, and the food is great for the price.
They shouldn't be allowed to use the name Rainbow Donuts. The Real Rainbow Donuts is wonderful. This place is absolutely horrible. The donuts taste nasty. Old, hard, leaves residue in your mouth. Don't go here. Find "The Original Rainbow Donuts"
Ordered the Tai Tea, not chai tea, Tai. It was fantastic. It taste like a drink with a bit of red chilli, although there is none, it's how it hit me and it was good! Wife got the mango smoothie, good and donut was great. Workers are super friendly.
the best donuts in the whole city used to be Uber driver and Lyft they couldn't wait till they opened at 5:30 in the morning here on Thunderbird getting hot get him ready sandwiches are great too some turkey to ham and a croissant the best thing in the morning cry out there cinnamon roll and they're apple fritter they're cute take it from us drivers to work all night and we eat donuts and their food all morning LOL
Something has changed. Maybe new ownership? The past couple times I?ve gone in around 7am and they?d have an entire left half of donuts empty. It never use to be like that. I got a chocolate glazed donut and i KNEW it looked different than it use to. It was gross! After YEARS of going here, I won?t be back??
Closed. The signs all say, "Open 7 days per week," but randomly, you find them closed with a paper sign stating as such.l, so paper signs they write sypercede the thousands they spent in signage. If you can not update your hours online, then you fail at business. Please close your doors and let a business in who has an interest in soing what their literal hsuoness model is, selling donuts. This place only advertises donuts.
The donuts are always great. Especially the custard filled, and apple fritters. The staff here is the greatest, so helpful and friendly!
This used to be our absolute favorite. Over the past six months, we noticed quality changed and only one person working. All of the staff has disappeared. Today, we went and waited in the front of the line for service by the only lady working? while waiting for several minutes? donuts looked old and we decided to leave. Sad it is not the same. Service is horrible
After being my ?go-to? donut shop for years, something has changed. Maybe new ownership, maybe new management or new employees. Communication is incredibly difficult. Items I always loved are not made to the same high quality. Pricing has changed and so many items now have an extra charge. Used to be the BEST! Now just okay. I?m searching for a new donut shop? sad to say.
I used to live near this place and went to it semi frequently. But it's really gone down hill. The menu's grossly falsely advertise the prices. They have a big boba sign but don't actually have boba at all. The Mocha I ordered just tasted like poorly blended Nesquick. I haven't seen the burrito I ordered yet but the rest of the experience hasn't exactly given me confidence it will be worth the surprise 7$ price tag (listed as 5.50$). The owner (I assume she is) seems to just not care it's clear why the cafe
Great little doughnut hole. When I need a nut made of dough, I think Rainbow! Old fashioned cake and bearclaws have no visible flaws.
I love Rainbow donuts but this location is garbage. I was here at 10 am and they had very few options available and zero glazed donuts. What donut shop has zero glazed so early? There is a soda fountain but of course it?s broken and just sitting there. Apparently it?s been broken for some time. The restroom is locked, and there are no homeless people just walking around here trying to use everyone?s restroom. So that was super inconvenient, the key for the restroom. I don?t even think is the key for the loc
This place is great! I got a breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. I also tried a few donuts. All of them are presented beautifully and taste just as good. Customer service is great as well. Will definitely be back!
Fast service, sweet lady, fun difference selection of donuts. Mouth watering good. Yummy thank you
November 6 at 10:30am and the lady behind the counter disappears with customers in the store? Messy tables and sold out of anything worth getting. Skip this place.
Great place for donuts but don't bypass the rest of the menu! Their sandwiches are very delicious and filling, breakfast skillet is so good and their fries are also delicious. This is one of my favorite places for breakfast and now lunch. The bill is less then I expected too.
Owners need to update their menu and prices to be accurate. What I bought did not match what I paid and the receipt did not show a breakdown of prices. There were also two different signs with different minimum amounts when paying with a credit card.
Best donuts in town, seriously. They're soft, fresh, great flavors, and very affordable. I walked in this Sunday morning at 9:15, walked out at 9:18 with exactly what I wanted. Their service has been incredibly friendly each and every time we've stopped in and the wait is never more than a couple of minutes, even on a busy weekend morning. Next weekend we're going back to try out the cafe menu. Hopefully it's as good as their donuts.
We feel very welcome at Rainbow Donuts. The people who are running the place are very friendly and do their best to make everyone feel well. In terms of food, we enjoy the breakfast burritos and the donuts.
Standing outside 5:10am still Not open! Great donuts great service! Its worth the wait but shouldn't have to. Says it opens at 5am 7 days a week. Says it's open on line now. Don't believe everything you read on line lol
What a great value for donuts! Their selection was amazing! If you are looking for sweet or savory, Rainbow Donuts has an option for you. They actually cooked up a fresh piece of bacon for my maple bacon donut. Getting donuts from here was the best decision after hiking Camelback. No ragerts!
I've lived in this neighborhood for years and never thought stop in Rainbow Donuts because I thought it was strictly a donut shop. On a whim I decided to stop by there today to see what they had to offer and boy was I pleasantly surprised. I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito so I ordered one for me and one for my wife and they were delicious. Since I only live about a quarter of a mile from Rainbow Donuts I'm going to make it a regular place stop and get a bite to eat now. I can't wait to try some of
These are the BEST donuts that I have found in the valley. They have a happy hour on Monday and Tuesdays, though I forget what time. However even without happy hour pricing their prices are really reasonable. THey do charge extra for orders under $3 with a debit/credit card, so be sure to order at least half a dozen. They also have a cafe like feel, serving more than just donuts- sandwiches, etc. Nice seating area allows you to enjoy whatever delicious treat you have chosen. Be sure to try their pink
Used to be our favorite donut shop in the area. No idea what happened, new management or something but they are horrible now. Easily the worst donut I?ve had unfortunately.
Super awesome donuts, also surprisingly awesome food. I love their donuts but I look forward to their food even more. Updating my review after years, since there have been staff changes. Dropping from 5 to 4 stars. I ordered a submarine, the woman asked what bread, I said submarine, she asked what kind? I asked what my options are, that took a couple tries for her to understand... I said sourdough, expecting, I guess, a sourdough sub roll? Nope. It was on sliced sourdough. When I complained, they offered t
Best place ever!!!!! Everything is fresh and delicious :) looking at the beautiful donuts under the glass is very satisfying. Sweet friendly staff and fast service!! Amazing food, best breakfast sandwiches I?ve ever had!!!
Is this place a front business? They had noice tea options, the fountain beverage was out of order, and the donuts were very meh, not terrible but could have been from yesterday. When we entered I thought for a moment they weren't open but perhaps the door was left unlocked.
my favorite donut shop! I've been going to rainbow since I was a little kid, and their food and service is fantastic. My favorite donuts are the cake donuts, dense and sweet without being heavy or oily like grocery store cake donuts. close seconds would be the cinnamon glazed, which are fluffy, melt in your mouth goodness, or any of the specialty donuts with bacon, candy, or cereal on top! the staff are always fast and friendly, recognizing us and many other regulars and asking how we are, how's work, etc.
Visited in early afternoon. Many variety of donuts where unavailable which is a good indication of the demand. I like basic donuts and there was an adequate selection. The donuts were moist and flavorful with a pleasant, smooth texture. The sugar level didn't mask the taste of the donut which is a major plus for me.
Absolutely AMAZING place. The donuts are always so soft and delicious. In my experience they always throw in a few donut holes with the dozen or half dozen. Really great customer service every single time. 10/10 recommend.
BEST DOUGHNUTS AND MILK TEA IN PHOENIX! We love our Thai milk tea with boba and the doughnuts melt in your mouth! Go earlier for bigger selection they make them fresh daily so can run out. Great service too!
Great selection of classic doughnuts.
Delicious donuts, friendly service and clean. Go get some donuts here, you won?t regret it. I cave in with a grotto of hungry teenagers after a super Gage and the kind owner gave them some extra donuts for free. Super nice!
Beats Dunkin Donuts by a landslide! Friendliest staff ever, very professional and courteous. Say Bouy, one of the owners, is the nicest person ever and certainly knows how to run her business and keep her employees and customers happy! Donuts melt in your mouth, so fresh. The other food is awesome too! I recommend this place every chance I get.
They are supposed to close at 5, I got there at 440 to get donuts for my kids and they were already closed and everything was shut down and put away. So they obviously closed a long time ago before I showed up. Who does that?? So beware if you decide to go around closing time, probably call ahead to be sure they're open.
Awesome donuts and reasonable prices. Love the baker's dozen being 14 instead of 13. Can't wait to try their specialties like the apple fritter and crawlers.
The food is great, the staff is friendly enough. But if they ever mess up your order, be ready to pay for another item. They will not budge or admit they made a mistake. Ordered a egg, potato, cheese burrito. Get home, take a bite, it has bacon in it. Wrap it up, drive back and am told that's what I ordered. I don't eat bacon, why would I order something I do not eat, why would I waste my time driving back with the burrito. This is the second time this has happened. First time whatever let it slide, mistake
First and last time going here. It smelled bad which should of been a sign. Then ordered Rueben - the lady then advised cook for which I then hear a microwave come on. -Food is not fresh The sandwich - had a slight funny taste and barely any meat for $9 Maybe after an hour or 2 of consuming such then I got the bubble guts - food is bad I would advise don?t eat here as I see why people just come in and just order one donut as risk to reward is very small.
Each time I have visited Rainbow Donuts I have had much less than great customer service. It?s confusing when an employee doesn?t say anything to you and just expects you to start ordering. Furthermore, no donut holes in the morning? I tried Rainbow a few years ago and had a bad experience, and now I tried it again and got the same. I won?t be coming back.
This place is great. I've only had the donuts so far but will be going back for lunch. They have a menu loaded with sandwiches that sound and look great, hopefully they are great, i'll let you know.
This place not only has fantastic donuts and service but they employ good hearted genuine people. I left my phone on the counter of the rainbow donuts at Thunderbird and 40th Street and they held onto my phone until the next day when. I could go in to get it. They could have just told me there was no phone left at their business but instead they held onto it and when I locked the phone from my computer and gave a recovery phone number the staff called me on the recovery number and wanted to assure me that t
The sandwiches and doughnuts are both so yummy! My kids love the roast beef panini and ham panini. We ordered extra for lunch next day?? The staff are super nice and generous with the doughnuts for us to try. Love this place!
I really like this place. They have really good food and amazing customer service. I did have a misunderstanding with them once but they gladly took care of any issue I had making sure everything was taken care of. I'm very impressed with this place. Ill definitely be a long time customer.
Well I don't know who's running it or owns it now but I would get a sandwich moved away but stopped by today for one not on was the lady rude but my sandwich was made poor. Will never stop there again
donuts are great and the only reason why I didn?t give 5 stars is because I?ve gone in there a couple of times and they were out of the donuts that I like or they only had a couple left. I usually grab 3-4 different types so it?s not like they were out of one kind. Probably why I like the donuts so much!!
I have been to other Rainbow Donut shops and loved them. This experience was not what I expected. I ordered a doughnut and small coffee which came to $4.54. First, this seemed higher priced than I remember but then the girl proceeds to get my coffee. I asked for coffee creamer but instead, she gets out a pitcher and tries to pour creamer into the cup herself. Apparently, all she did was put in a few drops. So, coffee with no cream. All the while she is sniffling and wiping her NOSE! If she is not well, she
We come every Friday as a treat for my boys, which they have to earn. The always remember us, treat us with kindness and generosity. Everything I've had is fresh, tastes amazing and the store is sooooo clean! We love coming here and will continue.
They have very pleasant , polite , an helpful employees ! The Breakfast menu is fairly big white quit a bit to choose from ! My breakfast sandwich was very good ! An can't leave out the Donuts I had where very fresh an good !
Certainly the worst donut I?ve had in years, don?t waste your time or calories. It wasn?t fresh and the selection of donuts is less than impressive. Not to mention due to COVID they have a sign that says no dining-in and have people sitting at tables inside...
Variety, quality and price are all outstanding at this shop - which is a staple for me and my family. It was hard to win me over because I'm a Lamar's Donuts fan, but I gotta tell ya - Rainbow is worth the trip! Everything from rich Boston creme to bacon maple and even gummi bears combines to create an offering for all tastes - old and new. Staff is quick and friendly. I love this place. Would be nice to see a couple of gluten free options for feeding a group that includes GF diets, and there ARE GF options
We dug into our meal so fast I forgot to take a picture! We had the rainbow skillet as well as a cinnamon twist, classic glazed, and apple-filled doughnut. Everything was amazing. Doughnuts were VERY soft and flavorful and the skillet was made-to-order fresh.
Great food, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches. The staff is always kind and very helpful. I dont think Joseph Weber knows how internet or internet speed works so dont worry about that, yeah free wifi anywhere will not be fast like your house or phone provider. Will recommend to anyone looking for a good donut shop
TEMPORARILY CLOSED** Delicious donuts and friendly staff. Due to the pandemic they had to close temporarily because business has slowed. Was really bummed to find out on Friday when I told my kids I would bring donuts home. Hope they reopen after this is all over.
I work across the street at grease monkey and need some food at times, they have the absolute best egg, bacon, cheese burritos. They are always so kind and friendly to me, I highly recommend.
On multiple occasions I have stood there and not been acknowledged, greeted or served. I have walked out with nothing more times than I have walked out with anything. These places are utter nonsense.
Amazing donuts and breakfast sandwiches!!! Also, you gotta try the Taro milkshake ?? Delicious!!! I love going to Rainbow Donuts ?? ??
The donuts are just ok. I was more disappointed that I was given wrong amount of change. When I told her that I was owned $4 dollars, she then knew that she was caught gave it to me and tried to get me on my way. I really don't think that was just a mistake. Last time to trust this place.
I'm very picky with donuts but this place has some of the fluffiest donuts I've ever had some other places seem to make them somewhere else and don't taste as fresh but you can tell from the first bite that these puppies don't have to travel far to get to the display, the people working there were so friendly and welcoming and their breakfast burritos were pretty good as well
Amazing glazed donuts and blueberry fingers. We ate too many. Lol.
Love the people who run this place...and so does everyone else as evidenced by their busy mornings. They always have some thing new to try, but their main stock of doughnuts are pretty delicious too.
This is honestly the best donut shop I've ever been to. I had a breakfast burrito and a donut and both were EXTREMELY impressive. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in Phoenix!
All of a sudden these people are rude and cheap! $5 minimum to use a credit card, at a donut shop! Cheap!! Can?t afford your own fees? Stale donuts. After 10 years I will never return.
The two owners are amazing at what they do - donuts. Better than Bosa, certainly better than Krispy Kreme. Original glazed, cronut, chocolate cake glazed and Boston cream are a must. They also have food and it's decent, but if you came here for the non-donut items, you are missing a higher purpose in your life.
The people here are great! I get donuts for my clients here all of the time and not only do my clients love them, but they always take care of me really well!
They have the BEST donuts I have ever had and serve them with a smile and good cheer! I will be trying more things from the menu but right now I can't stop thinking about those donuts!??
Friendly fast staff with a large breakfast menu and lots and lots of yummy donuts! I ate here. It was nice,.clean and.good.for families! Iced coffee was very delicious!
My first time here and I?m in love with this place! I live in Mesa, Arizona, 30 minuets away by car, 2 hours and 20 minuets by bus...trip is worth it honey! I give Rainbow Donuts 5 stars ????????????????
I'm somewhat of a regular. It's always a pleasure to visit Rainbow Donuts. I love the smiles and the donuts are the best. My latest guilty pleasure i's the breakfast burrito. I just crushed one and was awesome!
This place is run by an amazing lady who makes delicious donuts. Almost every morning, I have to stop for my maple donut fix.
Just had the most amazing Bavarian Cream donut from Rainbow Donuts Cafe & Deli on Thunderbird! Excellent service. Highly recommend.
These are the absolute best donuts you will ever eat! The smoothies, the boba tea, and the sandwiches are fantastic. Better than that, the entire crew is absolutely charming.
Great doughnuts, breakfast options, and coffee. They have some crazy options like captain crunch doughnuts. We really like their breakfast croissants and doughnut holes. Store front is somewhat small, so plan to grab and go.
Absolutely love their donuts. They are my favorite in the state. Nothing overly gimmicky, just good donuts done very well. Much better than Bosa, and much much better than Dunkin.
I thought Bosas donuts were good. Great job Rainbow! The selection is unbelievable! And all the other non donut items are great. Including the paninis and breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Keep me away.
The donuts are incredible, but it's the friendly people that bring me back over and over again. The rest of the food is as good as the donuts (and better for you!) Breakfast burritos, sandwiches, paninis, salads. . . Yum.
The donuts are great, but I'm leaving 1 star for the way the new owner runs the place. She's slow and rude and doesn't know how to do basic things.
Bethany waited on me she is very personable and beautiful young woman I do not eat out because I feel you never get what you paid for. But TodAy I am glad I did, what a great Blt and Bethany tky you made my day brighter . I will def be back!!
Super great, affordable breakfast sandwiches and amazing donuts. Friendly, clean and fast customer service. 5 stars!
I will never go there again..older Chinese Lady is rude and doesn't listen .. Been going there for 2years and they have this lady working now which I can tell she hates her job.. always gets my order wrong . Told her that I will take my business somewhere else
Best donuts ever. Oh wait.. They have Kolaches too. I couldn?t find Kolaches anywhere in PHX. And also the muffins. It is not too sweet not just like the other places. I love this place.
