Pure Eats

Reviews Summary

Pure Eats is generally well-regarded for its delicious, fresh food—particularly burgers, donuts, and breakfast items—with many praising the friendly service and charming atmosphere. Outdoor seating and pet-friendly policies are appreciated. However, some note inconsistencies in food quality, occasional service mishaps, and higher prices as drawbacks. The donuts stand out as a highlight, and the local, homemade vibe adds to its appeal. While most experiences are positive, a few customers report mixed or disappointing visits due to service or cost concerns.

If you're in Lexington, Pure Food is a must stop. We found this place by accident and so glad we did. We stopped in for breakfast and cant wait to get back. We were met at the counter by the owner, who was very nice. She told us to sit where ever we would like to. we ordered a BLT and a breakfast wrap. Service was quick and the food was delicious. The restaurant was clean and fun, with photos all over the wall along with local art. there is also outside seating in the patio. I spent a couple of minutes

We are touring VMI and needed a quick bite. We love to support small local businesses. It?s an adorable little building. Love all the decorations! Our food was yummy. Great costumer service!

Pure Eats is a great option in Lexington for a quick meal. The donuts are excellent, breakfast and lunch options are very good. The selection is not vast but the quality of what you do get makes up for less options. Additionally, the owner is extremely supportive throughout the community so its always good to pay-it-back and grab a meal from Pure Eats every so often.

Where to begin. First we ordered a blueberry donut but my husband ate it before I could get a picture. He did leave me one bite with was very good. He ordered the organic chicken sandwich with fries and really enjoyed it. I had an amazing veggie burger with grilled onions and mushrooms plus pickled jalapenos. If I lived closer I would have the veggie burger everyday. Yes it was that good. And an honorable mention goes to the fries which I swiped off my husband's plate.

Wanted something local and good. This place didn't disappoint at all. I tried burger with home made chips and side order of Buffalo cauliflower. Then ended my meal with their home made donut. The burger was truly delicious, chips crispy and my favorite were cauliflower sooo good. Donut is cake type but it's not too heavy & was a great way to end the meal. If I want to do one suggestion, be wanting my burger hot. Great seating outside.

We (party of 3) went for brunch and ordered two 1/4 pound burgers, one with a side beef tallow fries and the other with sweet potato fries. I the order we also had a breakfast plate with two scrambled eggs, two toasts, slice of avocado and two pieces of bacon. The burgers came out as ordered and fries were good, everything tasted fresh. The platter was good too, eggs and bacon fantastic. The menus did not have prices, they all had the prices covered with sharpie, and after a charge of $60.10 for 3, it was l

This place is is fantastic! The people are so friendly, food is amazing and fresh, it?s clean, and the outside seating it so nice! We had burger specials made with local ingredients that were cooked perfectly and tasted great. House made chips were crispy and not greasy at all. Balsamic pasta salad was on point! This is our new go to when we visit Lexington!

Showed up near closing time on a Monday. Received excellent service and four excellent meals. And we were out three minutes before closing time; each of us full and happy. Great menu, restroom, and they have counter service. Easy parking in front. Highly recommend !!

I stopped into Lexington for lunch and I just happened to find this little cute place. I set outside, the tables are spread out nicely. The service was excellent and the food was very good. And the beer was cold! The place is very clean and the people working there are super nice. Without asking they brought my dog a water bowl and a few treats. I thought was so nice. Normally I have to beg and plead to get that! So your nice dog are very welcome. Stop in and try this place. I think you will enjoy it as

I was so excited when I got to this lovely little restaurant, locally owned by a woman named Kasey Potter one of her employees said how nice and sweet she is, and that she really cares about the community and her employees which is a must in my eyes and also a loyalty and dedication that exceeds most any places that I have been, I grade this restaurant as a 100 it has beef tallow instead of seed oil!!! I wanted to thank Danielle Morris for serving me and also Ashley Higgins!!!! We will definitely be back th

Went for a bunch and it was wonderful! Great outside seating, super reasonably priced food, and amazing doughnuts

my mama and me live a couple hours away, and come to lexington for drs appointments. we love to make a trip to Pure Eats whenever we?re in town, and it has never failed me. when i first discovered it many years ago i had no experience in a kitchen so my opinion on ?good food? wasn?t the best. now having worked in true fine dining, and understating the important structures of a good burger, i can safely argue that this is THE best burger i?ve ever had. it?s incredibly flavorful, juicy and perfectly cooked, t

Fantastic breakfast place in an adorable house convenient to everything in town. The bacon, egg and cheese biscuit is served on a homemade roll that is not bread-heavy, so you can actually taste what's inside, unlike so many breakfast sandwiches. The fresh fruit is from the local Farmer's Market and the meats are locally sourced. And let's talk about the donuts. The flavors change daily, but if you can snag a peanut butter marshmallow donut, you'll thank me later. Their donuts are delectable! Service is qui

Amazing beef. Amazing building. Extremely polite and helpful staff. (not pictured) they also have gluten free vegan burgers. This is a very hard item to track down and my vegan kid reports its the best one they have had ever.

Fun vibe, warm staff, and great food-- some days. We were told by staff that each chef cooks things "the way they like," so, for example, you might love the cole slaw with Tuesday's lunch and get a completely different recipe (!!) used for dinner on Friday. Most recently we are on a Friday evening and they'd already emptied out the iced tea dispenser an hour before closing. These inconsistencies aside, this is a charming place where you can dine al fresco and not spend a fortune.

This is an old gas station turned eatery. The building looks unique and traditional. When we walked in we were greeted with a friendly young lady who helped us order. We got the no bull patty crumbled with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles on a tortilla since none of the buns are vegan. I got a side of sweet potato fries which if I?m honest were fried a bit to long and were mostly black and tasted burnt but ketchup to the rescue. My husband got onion rings (not vegan). The wrap was actually pretty good! We ate out

An old gas station turned local hotspot. The food tastes on point and fresh. Daily donuts a simple refined menu to make choices easy. The customer service was phenomenal over the 5 hour time me and my father were there. The view of downtown Lexington while you eat on the patio is the cherry on top.

Best gluten free friendly place in Lexington. Separate beef tallow frying zone for amazing crispy salty fries. Delicious burgers with gluten free buns. Lady working was so nice and warm, creating a really comfortable place to relax and have a meal. 10/10 will be back every visit to Lexington.

My daughter and I came here for breakfast on July 15, 2021. Great curb appeal, parking a little lacking, I suggest you back in like we did. Go in, and was surprised the place very small but we'll laid out and clean. The food was delicious but the young lady forgot to tell me the hot tea I ordered was self service. So thinking she forgot me, I asked the very nice woman who brought me my food and she apologized for the misunderstanding and I got me some tea. A few minutes later she shows up with a donut to m

We went somewhere else first and they didn?t show us great customer service so we ended up sitting in the car looking for another diner place. This popped up and we were excited to head over there. Loved the outside. The young men inside gave us WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were tired from a hot day at the Safari but he answered all of our questions. They even had a vegetarian burger for my vegetarian friend!!! They had a bun less burger for my Keto friend. I wanted a burger and they had some local beef t

I really liked Pure Eats. The food was great, the atmosphere fun, and an overall good experience. Just make sure to arrive earlier than I did because I missed the special house made doughnuts. They're pretty special so make sure you try them.

Fantastic Donuts and Bagel sandwiches! Super friendly service. On a road trip, Texas to Maine. We will make this one of our stops !!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stop! A wonderful atmosphere, amazingly friendly owner and service, and the Breakfast Burrito (with Sausage and Avocado) was exactly what I drove in for! Outstanding!!

We wanted to eat at a local restaurant while on our way home by car to TN and found this lovely restaurant The food was delicious Their green curry is a little spicy but the vegetables and tofu well worth it The seaweed salad and spring rolls were delicious This food was a treat

Such a nice little hidden gem! My first time to Lexington and my friend took me here. The doughnuts are awesome!!! All the food was great. Staff is super friendly! Will definitely visit again!

Amazing tallow fries and beef burger!!!! We ordered the sweet potato tallow fries as well which were also delicious. The meat is local and this restaurant is "farm-to-table," getting a lot of their food from local sources. The chocolate peanut butter donut was a great to-go treat! EAT HERE if you're in Lexington!

We had a fantastic meal here- the burgers are good, fries , milkshakes...and the donuts are some of the best I've had! Overspend a little, overeat a lot, and you won't be disappointed.

Good burgers /fries (except for charging $2.50 for 2 slices of unripe avocado) but don?t order breakfast. Ordered 2 fried eggs that were overcooked, got 1 slice of store bought bread and 3 processed triangle hash browns that were so greasy! $20 for 1 meal! Overpriced! Good service and cute place but l expect better quality food for that price.

I was looking for a place to have lunch, before hitting the road, and the receptionist at the Hotel recommended Pure Eats especially for their burgers made with local produce and their "killer milkshakes". It did not disappoint. Relaxing retro vibe, friendly staff, excellent burger, and yes, a killer milkshake. Whats not to like?

We always look for natural, locally sourced food when we travel, and Pure Eats ticked all the boxes! Delicious, old fashioned style donuts and a savory sausage egg and cheese biscuit were incredible! Strawberry milkshake was one of the best I?ve had in quite some time, too :)

Yesterday , I had a bowl of Chilli & a Grilled cheese sandwich with Sweet tea ! It really hit the spot on a cold rainy day ! Yum !

The food was awesome, the service was even better, and the atmosphere outside was perfect for our dogs! We'll be making stops here every time we come through Lexington!

What a stellar gem in such a sweet town! We had French Toast, chicken tenders and a locally sourced, organic, beef burger! Everything was delicious and the prices were so refreshing!

Fantastic breakfast. Tried their burrito with sausage, onions and mushrooms and it was fantastic. Donuts were great, too. Even their everything bagel was great. Would definitely go back. Picture is only half the burrito.

Pure Eats was suggested by the front desk of our hotel as a good place for a satisfying breakfast. Unfortunately, we did not have an enjoyable experience. My wife and I both ordered the Rockbridge Roll-Up since we have developed a fondness for breakfast burritos from our time living in the Southwest before moving to Virginia. The first thing we noticed was how cold the burrito tortilla was. It felt as if the tortillas had been taken out of the refrigerator and not heated before wrapping the contents. They w

A very unique family restaurant. If you are on the way to Virginia Tech, consider stopping here. Excellant food and down home service

The atmosphere of this restaurant is a mix of quintessential dinner with a small bar and donut shop combined. The service is fast and the food is always good, granted you could just eat donuts there and be happy.

Got a cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly. Also added the beef tallow fries which I highly recommend (unless you're a vegetarian). A perfect place to sit outside in the warmer months to have a burger and fries!

It was a great find. My wife and I stumbled upon it while driving thru Lexington. We love the style of the building (a 1950's gas station). We will be going back to visit the area again (and maybe again).

Amazing burgers and the fries we cooked perfectly. The fried mushrooms were the best I have ever had.

Everything here is a la carte so it can be a bit expensive to eat a burger. My girlfriend and I both got burgers and fries. The burgers are on the small side for the price;however, I believe they use local grassfed beef which is going go be more expensive. She got a fountain drink, and I got a milkshake. Our total was almost $40 bucks. Service was fast, and the staff were very friendly. I love the old "feel" of the place. I would go here again if I visit Lexington again.

Not fine dining but It is what it is & it's good. Young ladies at the counter were courteous & patient w/ me changing my mind. We sat at the bar, enjoyed a "keydette", a "general" & couple of cake donuts w/ coffee for an enjoyable breakfast. Clean.

It was slow since college kids were on break. Cute little place. I dont think we had the best experience - we were the only ones there, it was close to closing time, ice machine was not working, etc. Hoping to return when its a bit warmer and busier for a better experience.

Delicious food!!! BLT with cheddar cheese and fries. Hamburger with Bacon and cheese and breaded mushrooms.

The cutest little building with a great staff. The burgers are a little bland, but well worth the experience.

Love this place! The food was amazing and the lady that took our order was so nice and helpful. We will definitely be going there again when in the area.

Cute, casual burger/breakfast all day/doughnut joint that serves alcoholic beverages. Customizable burgers are out of this world amazing! Gluten-free options available. Very knowledgeable on dietary restrictions.

The hamburgers and pickle fries are the best! Doughnuts are absolutely delicious too!! ??

Restaurant was a little dirty with the drink station cups all being dirty as well as the counters all around it. So I did not give a perfect rating. The food was really good minus the ranch that was sour and tasted like it had gone bad. But when I said something, I was told that is how theirs is supposed to taste. So I would visit again, but I will be more specific. Not getting anything that I feel needs ranch, and not getting any drinks. The food was good. And those areas looked clean. Just an honest revie

Yummy local and fresh donuts! Wish someone had told me sooner, I would have been able to have my daily donuts fix each day of my trip. A must visit, no question. Lovely proprietors and standard issue cup of joe.

Sat on the patio with our pup and experienced great hospitality. They even brought us a water bowl for our dog which was so sweet! The burger was fresh and delicious! My husband got coleslaw with his hotdog and loved it. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to pop in for some donuts! Their selection is always great and I always get talked into by a little extra to save for later.

Small inside (find your spot in line), great donuts. Dense donuts w/ really good toppings. We had, cinnamon sugar, Bacon maple (real bacon crumbled on top), strawberry w/sprinkles, chocolate covered, and peanut granola crunch ( I think that's what it's called). * Only the strawberry and cinnamon made it to the photo shoot.

Nice place to get a couple locally sourced burgers and cool off from the summer heat. Everything was fresh and the service was relatively fast. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Oh... And the bacon was not some flimsy strips, but decent thickness and portion to top the burgers.

Great local restaurant! Stopped in for doughnuts and a breakfast bagel. Friendly folks and reasonable prices. Stop in soon!!

Everything was delicious, but especially the salted chocolate donut! The ambience is adorable and the service was fantastic.

The people here are soooo kind, food was amazing and juicy,GO HERE IF IN AREA, AMAZING FOOD, would have posted pictures of the food but i ate ut before i could take a pic

BLT and salad with grilled chicken. Food was good. I was disappointed in the size of my salad. Woman owned business. Only women get to work there.salad was woman sized. No receipt issued. Need to try their breakfasts and donuts

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Lexington! Who doesn?t want burgers, and a beer. The milkshakes are homemade and delicious. Also they have a daily change in donut variety!

This delightful establishment, once a Pure Oil gas station, serves up locally raised food and donuts that are out-of-sight. Vegan friendly options, fried pickles are the tops.

My friend was treated very rudely. Service yelled at her and made her cry and then made our entire table very uncomfortable. Food was very mid.

If you walk in, ask if they are working a catering order BEFORE PAYING - they don't offer that information despite it causing in-person orders to be delayed by well over 45 minutes. Manager was very rude and took it very personally when I asked for a refund because of the wait. Past visits have been great, but I will not spend this amount of money to be treated like that.

We had an excellent lunch at pure eats. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and everything was delicious. Some of the best Onion Rings as well. The Donuts were also amazing. They're missing a real opportunity here by not offering a burger on a donut. I know it sounds a little crazy, but I've had it elsewhere and it's amazing. By combining two of their best menu items, they could hit it out of the park!!

Cute little place, friendly staff, amazing doughnuts.

Food is good and responsibly sourced but the pricing is just outrageous for what you get.

Excellent breakfast food and the donuts are amazing. ?????? Definitely going to be stopping in when driving through town.

Absolutely delicious, and they also made a point of taking care of the dogs. Outdoor seating was a delight on a hot day. Even the starling trying to steal my hashbrown was fun (and funny). Will definitely return

Food is fantastic, well, at least the burgers are. Unfortunately just a bit to pricy for me to keep coming back, but I do still treat myself every once in a while. A burger (egg+bacon) and fries, Chicken Salad (on a bun) and fruit bowl, 4 piece mozz stick, a kids burger (plain) and drinks was over 60 dollars. Based on that I wont be stopping here often, but if you have the money, go for it. Just be warned it is expensive.

Five stars, no second thoughts. Fresh food, on a busy Saturday afternoon, served hot and promptly. If i could give six stars, i would do so for tremendous customer service!! In a world where some workers barely glance up at customers, the two workers up front today were very pleasant and kind. A definite return when in the area.

Cute decor. Delightful, whimsical and warm on a snowy day. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. My husband had burger and fries and enjoyed them too. Chalkboard menu. Family run with wonderful service.

What a super place! Had breakfast. Yummy farm-to-table food. Very friendly staff and service. You can tell they genuinely care about the community and each individual that comes through. Love that it's female owned too! The hearts abound in decor and spirit! Thank you, ladies.

Charming restaurant, friendly atmosphere, and tasty food. We stopped in for lunch, ate outside and enjoyed the meal and the beautiful day. Hamburger was fresh and delicious. Staff were super welcoming and friendly.

The food was great! Best burger I?ve had in a long time! The fries are very good too. Quick service, food came fast and everything is locally grown/bought. Such a cute unique restaurant with outside dining! Totally would eat here again if passing through.

Loved our lunch stop! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. We appreciate the A+ service and thank you for being so friendly to our pup with cold water on a hot afternoon! We appreciate you!

Prompt service with very good made to order burgers and great salads

Stayed in Lexington for a couple of nights and the owner of the inn said that this place had the best doughnuts in the world, so I had to try them. He was right! I got the plain and it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and the place had a really neat vibe. Will definitely eat here again when I?m in the area.

We just happened by this little gem! We could not of ask for better service and the food was on point! The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious as well as the burger! Everything was local grown or produced and freshly made on sight. Couldn't ask for anything better! And don't forget to get a homemade donut!

Food was great, locally owned which was nice. I had to get my own refills which I did not enjoy. The outdoor dining was rather ... rustic to put politely. I would eat here again though for the good food and support of local business

Really really good burger! Great food, amazing service and COLD BEER! Definitely a great stop if you're in town!

I wanted the food here to be the best, but it was really only pretty good. The donuts are great, and milkshakes are real.

I?m local and live in pretty close walking distance to pure eats. I go often and usually don?t have any problems. But today was the worst service I?ve ever had from this place, it was almost as if done on purpose. Went in today (12/5 at around 2pm) and order 2 grilled chicken sandwiches; one with pickles and lettuce, the other with only pickles and onion. Also ordered a donut. Cashier made a phone call when going to the back (mentioned she was a florist if that helps determine who this was) and then gossipe

Homemade doughnuts were delicious, as was the French toast special. Was so jealous after tasting my husband's hashbrowns and was tempted to steal them. They were the perfect amount of crispy outside and soft inside. Staff was great! Will definitely be back!

Cute little places for breakfast and lunch all day If you?re passing thru Lexington this is a must stop Food and service were great and wonderful friendly atmosphere. Great soup

Donuts breakfast manu .coffee .juice everything was so good !

Great flavor. No bull burger and fries were delicious. Staff was great! The owner was welcoming. Would definitely visit again. Pet friendly patio was even more of a bonus.

When we travel we love to find hole in the wall places to eat rather than chain restaurants. This was perfect. Food was great and area is beautiful. Quiet and Quaint.

Great restaurant. Fast service with delicious food and a fun vibe.

I love supporting restaurants that pride themselves on sourcing meat locally. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat in Lexington, VA and we are glad we ended up at Pure Eats. We both ordered burgers with fries to our satisfaction. The flavors were classic and delicious, and I was especially happy to see beef tallow fried French fries. This old-school style of frying makes for fries that are crispier and richer in flavor, so what more could you ask for? I tried a donut as well for dessert which
