Maybe my expectations were too high, the glazed buttermilk was a little dry. The butterfly was decent but would not be my top choice.

They claim to be the best donuts in LA and they are 100% correct. Picked up a half dozen for my office on the way to work and they were still warm when I got to the office. I have been here 2 times. Not a fan of their pricing. Their donuts seem to be overpriced and are not anything special except they are thicker than a usual donut size. Same with their ham and cheese croissant which has the same quality as other donut shops. Just not an affordable place to frequently visit since you can buy the same stuff on other places that probably taste better and are half the price. Yes the hype lives up to it. Buttermilk donut is by far the best donut I've ever had and clearly why people line up at opening for this. Cake donuts are heavy but filled with flavor. Guava filled donut is slightly over sweet but the dough balances that nicely. Secret here is definitely the coffee. Crazy good coffee and would not suspect it.

Before going to Primos?s Donuts I looked at the reviews and I was skeptical of the high rating of 5 stars, it is true. Crisp, flackery, dense, full of flavors. The buttermilk was magnificent and will go soon because I want to try the Custard, it had already finished everything and it was only 11:00 in the Morning. I can imagine these Donuts with a very hot coffee, before work, there is no way to go wrong. I recommend it!

All the donuts we purchased tasted excellent. Prices are not low, but what is in LA? Parking was easy behind the building.

I felt like driving around today at a leisurely Sunday pace. Primo's was on my radar so I found my way over there. These are legacy donuts (1956) and are excellent. It is quite far for me to get to their locations but I am glad I stopped by at least once.

Absolutely love Primos! We lived right around the corner from them for years and we had a ritual of getting them every weekend. We recently moved up north of the Valley so I don't get to stop every weekend but any time I am near Primos or getting people from the airport, I make a stop. Buttermilk bars are to die for and I haven't found a better croissant since I was in Paris. They really are the best.

SOLID neighborhood doughnut institution. A really small store front, so we almost missed it, but there is ample parking in the back! We opted for the classic glaze and it did not disappoint. Pro-tip: definitely go earlier to have the whole selection, because once they?re gone, they do not make more.

The best donuts in all of LA. I know their buttermilk bar is their signature donut, and it's great! But my favorite is their basic glazed twist donut. Primo?s is the real deal. The buttermilk bars ignite your palette. The pillowy interior contrasts the crispy exterior. They also exclusively serve Stumptown coffee for a perfect pairing. We met Primo and loved his story of opening the shop. Easy parking. Payment is easy with Apple Pay. Line always moves quickly.

Wrong Hours - Considering that store hours might change on Veterans Day I decided to call early on the morning to ask what time they will be closing today. A gentlemen that answered the phone informed me that they would be closing at 1:00 PM due to Veterans day. I was so excited when I got there because I've been wanting to go there for a while until finally I was able to go to CA but when I went inside after waiting for 15 minutes outside practicing social distancing I come to the surprise that the guy in the back who is preparing the dough or doughnuts is not wearing a mouth cover and they have a sign on the door saying you can't go in if you're not wearing a mask Lol and when I mentioned this to the cashier, how can this be possible were they are making us wear

I love their vegan donuts, both yeast/risen and cake. Blueberry is an especially great flavor. They also regularly have vanilla, cherry, cinnamon, glazed. Can?t go wrong. Vegan donuts only available on the weekend. Employees are friendly and quick and parking is easy with a free lot.

I've been driving by this place for years and never stopped by. I finally decided to give it a try I had a glazed and glazed buttermilk donut which both were very good. Limited parking on the street and parking available in the rear. Very friendly staff.

The donuts are amazing! When you walk in, the place doesn?t look like much. Wonderful donuts. Came back once again on 9/9/22, and I must say, this place is #1 on my list. Stopped on the way to drive back up to San Francisco and got here when they opened. Friendly staff who helped me and recommended the fresh new sourdough donuts! I had the chocolate one and a regular glazed that were perfectly hot. Super fantastic spot, I would definitely return!

Other varieties are very good, but stick with their specialities to really get your mind blown. Super friendly service, rarely busy, and fair prices make this place a west side gem.

Some of the best donuts in town. My benchmarks are typically chocolate old fashioneds and apple fritters. Both are excellent and so are the rest of their other donuts. Their online ordering process is painless. The staff is incredible and ultra helpful. I have not been disappointed as of yet. They truly are an LA treasure.

I went here because I saw a food video that raved about the buttermilk donuts. We went around noon to get donuts and there were only a few buttermilk left, understandably. I got one and a few other types of donuts. I couldn?t wait to heat it up at home and eat it. So I ate it cold. It was still good but I wish I would have heated it up. It probably would have been 100x better. My suggestion: go for the buttermilk only if you are just going to see what the rave is about and if they are cold wait to eat them

Came to Primo's over the July 4th weekend. By far the BEST donuts I've ever had in my life!!!! They weren't super sweet, the texture was soft and moist. I have been going there for the past 15 years or so, although just once in a while, since I am pretty health-conscious. If people like me who do not particularly care for sweets, must go for donuts, Primo is the place. Their stuff is seriously good. People are very nice. The service is good. And there is a plenty of parking in the back. My recommendation is plain ones like cake donuts, twists, and buttermilk, but I am sure everything is delicious. Primo's makes the best donuts. I love a classic glazed raised donut, but I would say the maple long johns are my favorite--pillowy, warm and sweet. The only challenge is like most bakeries, they close pretty early, but the upside and tip: if you arrive close to closing time, they are so kind an give you an extra donut for free.

Shockingly bad customer service by the tattooed and pierced woman at the counter. Immediately starts demanding to know how many donuts I'll purchase. I guess I was picking too slowly for her because then, as I'm choosing my selections, she starts making what she thinks are invisible gestures to her coworker in an attempt to mock me. It's a decent donut place, with good donuts that are better than your local corner donut shop. However this is not some crazy good donut shop or one of those more unique donut shops with creative flavors. But as a standard donut shop with good pricing unlike the more expensive specialty shops, it's hard to beat this place for getting a couple dozen donuts.

I've had the best donuts of my life at Primo's. Their old fashioned donut is my favorite. One time I saved a donut from Primo's to eat later in the day. I forgot about my donut and ate it the following day. It was still moist. It tasted as if it had just been baked that morning.

I love these donuts, but the service is so bad! I always feel uncomfortable here. They awkwardly stare at you while you order, then it seems like you're bothering them when you ask questions. They are also usually out of everyone's favorite donuts and you're left to choose between weird flavors nobody else wanted. Get there early for the best selection.

I just found out about this place through a bunch of online lists and decided to check it out. Primo's Donuts is a small shop on Sawtelle & National. AND There's parking behind the store! Definitely worth finding this place to try out their famous buttermilk bar! The other donuts we had were pretty good too, but the buttermilk one was definitely their standout. It's like a combination of a rich buttermilk biscuit + lightness of a glazed donut. What a combination!

Gluten Free donuts are back!! At <$3 each, they feel like a steal, and taste great! There were 4 flavors this morning and some were Valentine's day themed.

The donuts are fantastic! The store set up is a little meh. They may not be interior designers but its clean and their donuts are so soft and so delicious.. Also they have lots of coffee options. Thats nice.

My family and I came here because of my daughter's excitement to try the highly rate Primo's Donuts. I was excited to try the cinnamon roll. To say the least I walked out with nothing. Before we stepped in (with masked) the female employee aggressively asked us to wait outside. My family and I understand what's going on and the need for social distancing it's just her abrasive tone that made our experience unpleasant. I'm not interested in trying anything from this establishment after that experience.

Best chocolate bars! Discovered this wonderful place 15 years ago when we moved into the general area. We now live out of state, but come in for a dozen nearly every time we make it back to the West side of L.A. The owners are great people too.
