Great little place. Super friendly owners. Cash only so come prepared. A dozen was another $16.96 each. a little girl came in for 2 doughnuts and tried handing owner cash...he brushed it away and told her...just get me next time. How sweet and charming to know your costumers and tell them to pay next time. I will say they are a little tricky to find because they are attached to a taco shop. I suggest signage in planter box of parking lot showing an arrow?? Easy to miss the turn.

This donut shop has been around since I was a child. I am now 32 years old. I am not surprised that this is one of the longest standing shops in this mall because the donuts are the best. You really can't beat them. The owners are very kind as well. This is a business I would love to stay in business and will buy them over mainstream donuts anyday!

I waited a few days to review as I wanted to be sure I was being fair. The cash only is a huge deterrent. I understand transaction fees but then have a minimum purchase or charge a fee for using a card - both are commonplace even though I consider it a cost of doing business. Or at least offer Venmo. Strictly cash only feels like tax evasion to me. I was in a huge rush, had my dogs in the car, and wanted to get something nice for the vet's office. One of my favorite doughnuts shops. The staff are friendly and I don't know of another shop where you can get two doughnuts and a drink for under five bucks. My recommendations are the plain cake and the chocolate covered old fashion.

Amazing donuts. I always am excited to take the kids in the morning on a Saturday. Always the most authentic flavor as well and always taste fresh. Customer service is always top notch and very fast service even while waiting for a hot cup of coffee. You can tell the recipes are generations old and inherited to the son and daughter of the owner. Never unsatisfied with any purchase I make there. Very happy they are still in business and only 10 min walk from my house. ;)

There no place that gives you a better donut at a competitive price point. I vividly remembering running to get PQ donuts after 5th grade class. I?m 32 now and have lived in different countries and cities where I?ve sampled countless donuts/fried pastries. PQ Donuts is a humble business with an incredible, consistent product. Not campy or over-the-top, just the humble classics executed perfectly and deliciously. A must try when you?re in the area.

If you're looking for a maple bar with an entire stick of bacon glued to it, keep walking. If you're looking for a glazed donut with captain crunch on top, find jesus. PQ Donuts is the type of donut shop you hope will set up shop in your neighborhood. Best donuts I've had in San Diego or anywhere else. Always fresh and tasty! Prices here are also dirt cheap and the guy who runs the store is always super nice. Only caveat is cash only but that its a small inconvenience when you look at the quality you get for the price.

A good standard donut place. The donuts look fresh, at least in the morning they do, and the prices are fair. I got an apple fritter for $1.50, which is a good price being the larger size one. It was made well, the outside slightly crispy and the inside fairly soft. It did have an oily aftertaste though.

Great donut shop with low prices for high quality. Cash only but that's the norm for good donut shops. Easy parking just opposite the door, which is just before the drive thru for the Mexican restaurant that shares the building. The donuts and cinnamon rolls are fantastic. I've not had better dough in San Diego County, and there is good competition out there. The staff are friendly and the service is as you would expect. It's the local donut shop.

Simply awesome! The shop is family owned and has been in business in the same location for more than 25 years so they must be doing something right. I visit 4 or 5 times a week and always get extras for family and co-workers who think that these are the most mouth-watering & tasty treats ever. The prices are very reasonable, and the father, son and daughter are like family to me. Check them out soon and often. You'll be glad that you did.

Donuts are delicious, but customer service is bad. I hope they work on their attitude towards returning customers. By the way, they only take CASH - I don?t know how long that?s going to last since everything is becoming digital. It?s pretty inconvenient for people that they don?t have a debit machine ? a bit sketchy.

This is the best donuts shop for crumb cake donuts. This is the only place I go for donuts when in town. I have tried crumb cake donuts in other donuts shops during my travels to other cities but none can compare to crumb cake donuts at this place. Very friendly staff and they have been in business here for many, many years. They would make me crumb cake donuts out of the plain ones when they have sold out.

It is absolutely amazing to me that other donut places near here get higher scores than PQ donut! While this isn?t the Donut Bar fancies or VGs?s chocolate glazed ? if you have sampled buttermilk bars at any other donut place I challenge you find a better one anywhere! PQ is consistent and fresh and simply knows how to make a proper not overly fried donut. Period! And did I mention the melt in you mouth buttermilk?!

Really lovely team working here- I ordered 3 dozen doughnuts for my team at work and the gentleman asked me if there were going to any children with allergies so that he could separate them- and offered napkins! The apple fritters are yummy and my team enjoyed this treat immensely. They were also wearing masks and gloved hand to touch the doughnuts and napkins- nice to see foodservice knowledgeable about cross-contamination. Highly recommend.

I don't always eat a donut, but when I do I come here for fresh legit Donuts. Pq Donuts has been around for a long time and each time I'm in the area I have to stop by. Prices are totally reasonable. This place is delish I'll take this place over the high priced and not as delish "do not touch". Save your $ and come here instead

Excellent doughnuts. These aren't the abominations that you can find at "gourmet" doughnut shops for five dollars each. Instead, you'll find delicious classic varieties with friendly and prompt service.

Fairly decent selection at less than a dollar a donut. I recommend the chocolate buttermilk donuts. Soooo gooood. Cash only is a slight drawback. Overall, great place to snack a decadent treat.

My sister brought me a doughnut from this place and it was the best doughnut i have ever had. it melted in my mouth and was so sweet and warm and delicious. Its the only place ill ever get doughnuts from again. after having one from this place all other didn't compare. Best doughnuts ever.
