We have been wanting to try this cute little place on Kahili and finally had the opportunity today. Super friendly counter service, a nice selection of baked goods. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and they were fantastic. Eggs and meat on one side and potatoes and peppers on the other

I have to say is great food, great value! I?m definitely craving them again! Great idea for a shop. Everything is fresh and delish!

Very gifted baker here. I love their Butter Horn Danish, selection of donuts, and small pastry puffs. They have much more than a few breakfast items and the staff is super nice! Highly recommend them if you like old world style baked goods.

I got sandwich and a couple scones from here. It was super good. I had never tried a sandwich in a popover but it adds a unique twist to this place. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Popover is our favorite donut shop in Hilo. Get there early in the day, all the best flavors can get snatched up before mid morning. Some of our favorite flavors are ube, lilikoi coconut, maple bacon and mocha. Save room in your box for some cream puffs- the haupia-filled pastries are three thumbs up!

Wow! Gorgeous and delicious pastries here at Popover. I really wanted to try everything because it all looked soooooo good! Oh my gosh?. Everything here was sooo good! We came in for brunch all had sandwiches. I got the Malibu? it was impressively delicious and bigger than expected. Popover breakfast sandwich was huge! We didn't expect it to come with potatoes (my husband and I could have split one). The latte was very hot and tasted good (whole and oat milk are only options). I had a mini chocolate puff which was very yummy. We also had 1 s'mores donut which was good.

Wow! Glad my bride asked for coffee and donuts for our anniversary today! The Butter Beer Crunch and French Toast were my favorites. My lady said the coffee was as good or better than a "mermaid" brand she usually goes to! If you are looking for donuts I can attest Popover will not disappoint!

What a lovely bakery! The popover sandwich was large enough for both my husband & I. We also tried machine, cinnamon roll, coffee cake, and puffs. All were divine! My favorite breakfast place on the island.

Fabulous food and coffee. We enjoyed the breakfast flatbread and breakfast popover. Both were delicious and we had plenty to eat-we are taking 1/2 of the flatbread home. Service was timely and friendly. The pastries that we devoured with our coffee were amazing

It?s nice to see that Popover is still going strong. They have a variety of pastries to accompany their signature popover bread and lilikoi butter. Their doughnuts are not my favorite but I know that a lot of people like them. Their popover bread on the other hand I think is really good, a little plain for some people, but I like it. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Love their pastries especially the mango and guava puffs! Their donuts are good too, but I like the puff better. As for food, the turkey avocado sandwich is the only one that I?ve tried so far, so I got nothing else to compare it with. But it is still so gooood! My husband and I got breakfast here and loved the popover sandwiches! He got turkey avocado and I got the breakfast and they were both great! We were sad the pastry selection appeared pretty wiped out by 9 but if we were around longer we would totally come back for these sandwiches again. Coffee was solid as well!

I stopped on my way to the hospital for a box of treats for my class. When I bit in to the liliko puff, it exploded everywhere! It was absolutely delicious!!!! I love lilikoi and most pastries are too sweet and not tart like lilkoi are. Popover has the most tasty lilikoi puff in town! I also recommend the haupia and guava! Fantastic place for tea and coffee. Fresh bakery. I had the yummy cinnamon twist and hubby had the mini doughnuts. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Tea was delicious. Highly recommended.

I ordered a donut, and a bear claw. Their donuts have a texture more like bread or a bagel than either a good cake donut, and are nowhere near light and airy enough to be a good yeast donut. What a great find on one of our staycays in Hilo! Popovers are a family favorite during the holidays so finding this gem of a place was a score for us. We had a mini quiche, the ABC popover sandwich, the Hawaiian coffee pourover, and a cortado. Everything was amazing!! I just wish I had more days in Hilo to eat here again. The cortado was one of the best I have had. And popover sandwich is must try! Cute locally-owned place.

I just went for a drip coffee and a donut. I placed my order. I had to wait about 20 minutes and watch 3 other people come after me and get taken care of.

Food and coffee is great! Service is slow especially if you're trying to go to work and they let the guy after you order 60 different pastries and carefully boxes them before making your coffee.... They one more employee is what I recommend. Aloha

We had the roasted veggie popover sandwich, which was one of the best sandwiches we?ve had in a very long time. Their coffee and desserts were also incredibly delicious. Mahalo for bringing these amazing "Popover" rolls to Hilo! I tried for the first time and found them extremely ono with the lilikoi butter. It looks huge, but it is kind of hollow inside. The outside is perfectly crisp with a moist, flakey inside that is rich and buttery. Mmmm...can't wait to try it stuffed with tuna salad. This comfy cafe has ample indoor and outdoor seating too!

These popovers are a healthier version of the ones my grandmother and aunt made when I was a kid but they are just as memorable and come with a little cup of guava butter! The puffs and doughnuts are the best in town! And a great coffee stop as well! Love this place!

I've loved this place since the moment I walked in. The owners are incredibly friendly. The sandwiches are incredible, truly. And this is one of the FEW PLACES IN HILO, as a person who works remotely, where you can 1. plug-in your laptop or devices, and 2. use the wifi, and 3. that doesn't blast loud music. On your way to Popover Cafe and Bakery, you most likely will pass it the first time. It is an unassuming building, but the food is the most delectable experience your taste buds will ever enjoy.

Unique little place. The fruit puffs were delicious, and their popover sandwich was to die for!! The potatoes and sauce in the sandwich had AMAZING flavor! Coffee was also delicious. The 4 stars is because the apple Danish was like a day old. Good flavors, but super dry.

Wow! My parents and I stopped here looking for a local sandwich shop in Hilo... and we were SO glad that we stopped in. We had the best turkey avocado sandwich we've ever had with fresh veggies and a side of delicious potato macaroni salad on the perfect bread! So much so we took 6 breads to go! The breakfast sandwich was pretty delicious and worth trying if you are in the area. The secret sauce seems to have a bit of a horseradish kick though so beware if you don't like that taste (my friend did not). Unfortunately, the service was a bit lacking here. If I could give zero I would! Bought 6 donuts for work and was extremely embarrassed!!! The most dry donut I have ever eaten! Even day old Safeway donuts are better or the prepackaged donuts! We fell in love with this place the moment we walked in. Definitely best breakfast in Hilo. The Haupia puffs are so delicious we spent awhile trying to figure out how to transport them home to let other people try them before deciding we couldn't resist and just ate them ourselves. The breakfast sandwiches are astonishingly large and absolutely worth the price--we especially like the texture of the bread and the sauce.

I sneak in here for a donut from time to time. When birthday time rolled around for my girlfriend I asked if they made cakes. They do. Amazingly well. I ordered a lilikoi cheesecake. I honestly think it is the best cheesecake I?ve ever eaten. Not too sweet and quite light. The lilikoi was the perfect tartness. Next year I will be headed back to get her a cake there again.
