Polonia Bakery

Polonia Bakery

Reviews Summary

This Polish bakery is widely praised for its authentic, high-quality baked goods, particularly its paczki (donuts), Polish rye bread, rum cake, and babkas. Customers rave about the delicious flavors, fresh ingredients, and excellent service. While some note the location is less desirable with tight parking, the outstanding food overshadows minor drawbacks. A few mention higher prices, but most agree it's worth it for the superb quality. The bakery holds sentimental value for many, with long-standing family traditions tied to its products. Despite rare complaints about limited stock (like pierogis), the overwhelming consensus is that this is the best Polish bakery in the area, offering unique, delectable treats that keep customers returning.

Customer Reviews

Came here because my first choice had run out of p?czki. Just have to say, glad I did! Most delicious, delicate p?czki I have had. The raspberry filling was tasty and the cream filled was fresh and delicious as well.

Incredible bakery with wide array of traditional polish treats. Cheese babka was an absolute delight!

Best polish multigrain bread in America. This is from where all the polish nyc bakeries get their bread from!

Outstanding traditional Polish breads, cookies, paczki (donuts) and cakes. The layered rum cake, sprinkled butter cookies, and cheese babka are to die for. The paczki are a tad undersized. This place is a bit pricey across the board, but I guess superb quality isn't cheap. Also, it's a bit cramped inside, in a crummy part of town, and parking can be hard to come by.

Went here for the first time to pick up some polish baked goods with my boyfriend--everything was fresh and came out delicious and the customer service person was very helpful! The location is less desirable and we had to park in another business' lot but everything else was great.

I grew up in Passaic eating their wares. I moved away and never found pastry as good. I wish they shipped. I remember the Napolians. The creme was delectable with the pastry part flaky but never dry.

We heard that the bread is awesome, so we decided to take a ride and try for ourselves. We got a couple of different types of bread and of course started eating some rye bread as soon as we got in the truck. Started to drive home, only to turn around because we had only purchased one loaf of rye. I thought it was amazing, so we turned around to get two more loaves of rye bread. By the time we got home we had devoured the first loaf of bread.

Limited assortment. Famous for their rye bread. bad neighborhood.

It?s a family tradition to go here but it honestly gets worse every year. They put less and less filling in the paczki, the rum cake has gotten drier every year and I don?t think they even put rum in anymore, and the staff is rude.

Wonderful bakery goods!!! This place has been an intimate part of our family traditions as far back as when I had my first birthday cake. We are obsessed with Polonia?s Polish rye bread and their Rum Cake pinnacally. If you have never had these items, you really are doing yourself a disservice?holy moly they are amazing! The Polish Rye Bread can be eaten on it?s own it is So good! You can freeze it and toast it. We love it lightly toasted accompanying eggs with mushrooms and Kielbasy from Adam?s Market (

There should be more people up front to help out at check out. During holiday they should have enough people to help not only one cashier.

The delicious pastries and bread are made fresh daily. For years, my parents would take me to buy special treats for the holidays. I keep that tradition going.

I want to go back! They were very friendly and the donuts were delicious

The best polish doughnuts ever! Nothing beats them!!

One of a kind great place in a sadly fading neighborhood. The very best in Polish style baked goods.

Went out of the way to try a new polish market. Been to dozens. First time in my life I was told that a store was out of pierogis. I thought they were joking at first.

House of the best donuts in this part of the world. On last fat Thursday they sold about 40k of them. That?s right 40000...

Authentic. Rye bread is basically the only bread i ready regularly. Park on the street, meters. It's worth the trip
