In town from out of state on business. I wanted to pickup donuts for my client, certainly glad I stopped in. Pleasant staff. Really good selection, especially on Fridays. Delicious and surprisingly inexpensive.
They are the best donuts I have ever had I get them every Saturday
They do not guarantee their hours will be the same as what is posted coming from out of town. We paid ahead for donuts and found out when we were still an hour out that they were closing early at 11 instead of noon. They left the donuts outside under a tree For us to pick up since they were already paid for these were not the donuts that I remember years ago, they were terrible they were hard, did not taste the same, and the donut holes did not have any or hardly any buttercream in the middle very disappoin
Some of the donuts were good, some were not that good, none were bad. Really friendly service. Coffee wasn't great.

I?ve eaten donuts all over the country and the Pierre Donut Shop has the best glaze and buttercream filling that I?ve ever had. They also sometimes give my kids little treats when they come in with me, which makes their day! They are generous, diligent, appreciative, and hard working. Best donut shop that I?ve been in to date. And they don?t charge you an arm and a leg for good donuts! Must stop for any donut lover coming to Pierre.
Very friendly staff greeted us upon entry and provided each of our group of 4 a buttercream donut hole. We ordered a dozen more and a couple other donuts and drinks. What a deliciously sweet treat! We will be back.

Family was in town for a volleyball tournament. Stopped in on Saturday morning at 8am ish. We got a couple cinnamon twists, apple fritter, glazed, and cinnamon sugar. Very good, dense doughnuts. Not oversweet. I would eat these every day. Coffee was Bunn style drip coffee. Nice and strong to get you going. The staff was hopping as it was a busy Saturday morning. Polite and quick. Overall a good experience and we will be coming here every time we make it to Pierre.

The donuts are good. It just bugs me that you can't just buy a dozen donuts for a set price. The donuts are all different prices. You have to stand there while they total up each one. (They are efficient at it, though)
I've been going here since I was a kid in the 80s and the donuts are so special they cannot be duplicated anywhere else. I'll have 3 dozen cream filled donut holes please! If only I could get them delivered fresh to Arizona. Next time I'm in Pierre my kids will share the experience with me! You can't ever close this shop!
One of the best doughnut stores ever! I highly recommend everyone living in the Pierre area to go there. Of course, the earlier you get there, the better because they're only open in the morning. Once the doughnuts are sold out, you'll have to come back the next day since they're only open in the morning. I lived in Pierre for a couple of years and then relocated all over the country...I still think about The Donut Shop these days...
This place is okay... Not quite good and certainly not great. Three stars because their price was good. Every one of their donuts were overcooked and tough, pretty void of buttercream frosting across the board. It's been like this since new ownership. A chewy donut is deffinately not worth the rating this place has. The old owners were far better at making the donuts.
Very kind and welcoming service. Donuts are amazing, my personal favorite is the nutty butter one! I recommend this shop to everyone. Great for parties or just a donut in the morning. Not very spendy either!
Check hours before going here if your not familiar with them. Donut holes are to die for. So is the German chocolate cake donut. Family owned and honestly the best doughnut store I've been too. It's a can't miss while in Pierre.

Small, old fashioned donut shop in Pierre..these guys are BUSY! They have lots of unique..homemade donuts and some of the everyday kind. They do have coffee, milk and some bottled juices. This place is take out only..no seating...Go early..they run out fast...YUM!
Picked up donuts, cream filled donut holes, long johns with nuts, and two tubs of buttercream. We really like the cream filled donut holes. They also Did a good job of doing necessary Precautions around Covid-19 by adding a sign outside the store on what to do.

Now that they have a donut called Danny's favorite I can't stay away!! It's a regular glazed donut cut in half and smother with butter cream then put back together. Heaven is for real!!!
