The donuts are amazing. I was born in Escondido and I remember always having my father bring these donuts home. They have become more expensive. The thing that just didn?t make sense is that they took out the option to pay with cash. The service is awesome but taking out cash is a downgrade.
So many donuts, so many pastries. Peterson?s has something for nearly everyone. Upon arriving at their surprisingly large parking lot, you walk up to a covered seating area that has large boards with the names and photos of their many varieties of donuts and pastries. If you need more proof that the actual product looks as good as the photo, walk around to the other side of the shop and you can peer inside of their many windows to see the actual donuts sitting on racks. I ordered three donuts: plain old-fa
If you're craving donuts that are not only massive but absolutely delicious, Peterson's is the place to go! From the moment you get to the parking lot, you're greeted by the sweet aroma of freshly baked pastries and a display case that looks like it belongs in a dessert lover's dream. The donuts are gigantic, easily double the size of your average donut, but the quality isn't sacrificed one bit. The dough is perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of chewiness, and the toppings are abundant without bei
One if their donuts is equal to three donuts anywhere else! If you can think of a combination - they have it. There?s a maple donut with bacon bites in it. Yeah. Like who came up with that? They have a variety of jelly donuts that represent balls used in sports: football, soccer, baseball. The simple glazed donut is to die for.
Had them last night, me and my friend each one has a bite on each flavor, honestly speaking it was tasty. However, we then both had diarrhea for several time last night, I highly doubt their foods are clean or not. I wish to bring everyone?s attention
I?ve always been a big fan of Peterson?s Donuts, but lately, they?ve been slipping. My doughnuts were raw in the middle, and the cronut was by far the worst. For the price they charge, I expect much better quality. I really hope they can get back to the consistency that made them so great in the first place.
The hype is real. The staff here is super friendly and encouraging, when you purchased their donuts. The donut size are extremely generous and are priced inexpensive in comparison to commercial counterparts the. now to the real star of the show the taste. The taste is amazing hands-down one of the best donuts I?ve had in my life, their pillow donuts, also known as a croissant donut... that right there should fill you up eating one of those for the whole day! I honestly cannot say you can go wrong picking o
There?s always a short line and it moves pretty quickly. Go early because the popular ones get sold out. One time, we tried to order the Z and cream cheese pocket around 11am but they were out. Like some reviewers mentioned, the donut bars are pretty big and calorie packed! The specialty donuts are not cheap but they are interesting and worth trying at least once.
Awesome donut shop. Amazing selection and BIG SIZED ONES that are worth the drive. Be prepared to wait in line, but it can move quickly. Open early and late, multiple windows to order from. They are also on every delivery service. A must visit for north county.
Fun donut spot with tons of choices and novel options! They have a decent seating area outside but it is right on the corner of a busy intersection. It was slightly tricky to enter the parking lot but there were plenty of parking spots. We came on a random weekday evening. They have all the donuts on display through the window and huge menus posted outside. The donuts are huge too! We are not big donut fans but this place was an experience worth visiting!
I visited this donut shop based on a tempting photo of "Cronuts" on Twitter. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The donuts are oversized and overpriced. The oil used for frying seemed stale, emitting a strong, unpleasant odor. An odd plastic-like taste lingered on the sugary coating of every donut I got. As a first-time customer, I was met with unhelpful and unfriendly service. The long line and single-window setup were frustrating. Despite spending over $20 on five donuts, I had to discar
Really liked what Donuts they did have but the selection was limited to what they had on hand seems like for the price they would have more Donuts that the advertised
The donuts are huge. I was not expecting the twist to be as massive as it was. That is by no means a problems it's the opposites it was a very pleasant surprise. As a donut lover I am more than happy to have a big donut. I loved the building and enjoying it outside. It felt very Californian. I highly recommend it.
Great Donuts: BUT: we will never go back. We have been going there for decades, but no more. They will not take cash, only credit card. Who want to pull out a credit card for a couple of donuts? Many don't even have a credit cards. If you use the CC you mostly likely are now going to pay interest on the unpaid balance. These donuts are getting expensive!
As a life long Escondido local and been getting Petersons donuts for most of my life from my parents or my self the last few years the quality has declined significantly. Got some last night and genuinely could not finish a full donut. They just are not what they used to be. I hope they fix this because anything they have there is very subpar now.
The quality of the doughnuts is great, and even the variety in terms of overall coverage of types and flavors. It's even nice they have some baked goods aside from doughnuts available. The service is also fairly quick (given how few service windows they have open at any given time) and the staff seem friendly. But they don't have my single favorite go-to doughtnut that seems like a staple everywhere else and that hurts my opinion of the shop severely. That is the Old-Fashion with Chocolate. Not Chocolate O
Haven?t been here for years and was pleased to know they are still serving delicious donuts. I uploaded there current menu pamphlet & of course a picture of the donuts my husband purchased. My favorite out of the box was the ?Blueberry frosting!? So yummy ??!
Service, was very good. I was pleasantly surprised, however, not what it used to be. Most selections were out, on Sunday. D+ in taste. Oreo bits were stale. The creme filling is a D- unless it was old and has a HFCS aftertaste. I have tried on different days and same. I would hate to find out what ingredients are and source sellers. Regular donuts should not be $2.95, certainly not $4.25 for a "Randa" which was dry. Is this place hurting financially? New, bright donut chef and more oversight needed to st
What Happened?! If there was a graph of the quality and flavor of Peterson?s Donuts over the last two years it would look like a hockey stick. Their cake donuts now taste like a generic dry donut and the famous Peterson Pillow donut which id supposed to be a cronut style, has been reduced to undercooked layers that is bland and lifeless. If you notice that there isn?t a big line around the block anymore?there is a reason I feel like when a business sells to new ownership, the ratings need to be reset.
They have the most selection I've ever seen in donuts. There's a donut for everybody and anybody that loves donuts. They're not normal sized donuts they are huge donuts could last you a couple settings. And the nice thing is they're open 24 hours Every day of the week. So if you like to experience the ultimate donuts I highly suggest you stopping and getting yourself a donut.
I used to come here every weekend when i lived close by. This is my first visit after the change of management. The price has increased but the donuts are still on point. Apple fritter is my absolute favorite! You have to try it. It's also nice to have other payment options other than cash.
Great iconic donut place here in south cal, best I have ever had. Family owned and operated for over 30 years. You should try their blueberry jelly filled, or the maple bacon Peterson pillow yuuummmy! The cinnamon twist to die for, and their Apple fritters the biggest I?ve ever seen good for 2 or more people. They open 24hrs. Give them a try I am sue you?ll be back.
Being a connoisseur of donuts I can tell you right now you definitely need to visit Peterson?s Donuts. They?re open 24 hours a day. We stopped by to get two dozen donuts on your way home at midnight. EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. The donuts are delicious and they are very generous with the icing as you can see. The three chocolate in the box were mine to eat right away. I had two down before I got back to the car. ?? It?s like a little slice of heaven!! Enjoy! ????
I stop here when i have a random taste for a donut. Unfortunately this will be the last time. Today they have signs up ?card only?. No problem. The problem is when i order 2 donuts and the woman and despite my total being $5.90 (which she said verbally) she decided to type $9.50 and held the card reader close after I no touch scanned. I saw it, but i let it go. I just know to never come back. Losing $3 is worth it to know what kind of people I?m dealing with. A shame ?
It?s not in best part of town and you can smell things but the doubts and service is heavenly ; each kind of doubts I had it was to perfection
I have never seen such a wide variety of ?? donuts! They are the size of a football and very tasty! My favorite was the cinnamon twist and the glazed square pillow.
It was okay, the apple fritter was overcooked and tasted of burnt oil, same with the pillows which were really disappointing. The strawberries on top of this doughnut were not fresh and tasted as if they had been sitting overnight in a fridge. Overall really disappointed. The woman I spoke to on the phone about a refund had a very defensive attitude and I do not recommend this shop. The doughnut bar has much better staff and quality. I will be submitting a full TikTok review.
Haven?t been in a while and the donuts definitely seem worse now. They have always been super sweet which is fine but now they are super rich and the bread is bland. Very average donut now.
It's Petersons, it's just good donuts. Changes in hours are reasonable, change in management has not seemed to change the quality or quantity of the amazing treats. No cash is a big change but it is expected in a business where the nation operates in a digital financial system. Go get a pillow donut and a maple bar, to make the change feel that much better. Now only if these treats would not add any weight to my body ...
Heard of Peterson?s for sometime now and finally in the neighborhood. There are so many varieties that one will have to come multiple times to try them all. All the cake donuts we got are moist. My flavor is the strawberry cake. Bring cash. There is a small fee to use the debit card to pay for the donuts. It is great that it opens 24 hours. However, mornings must have more varieties than 3PM. I will have to go back in the morning to get some cream puff and donut holes.
Love this donut place!! One of our clients brings them in sometimes and we love to eat these donuts. The sizes are huge and the flavors are great. If I ever stop by Escondido I will make sure to grab one!
What an experience! Such a neat place and superb donuts. They are a cake like style which gives them the old fashioned taste. Peterson's is usually on the short list of the best donuts in southern California for a reason. So its worth a visit. They are open 24 hours too!
If you want a pastry that wakes your tastebuds up, you need to visit Peterson?s donut corner. My husband bought two dozen donuts and that was not enough!! We had a croissant donut(I don?t know the actual name)every morning for a full weekend and they still didn?t get stale. If they were closer I would be at their door every day. Delicious!!
You can just tell these donuts are gonna be good, and they are! The bread is more cooked than usual, so it'll be harder/crispier than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin, but not stale. Not a bad thing, especially if you're looking for something different. And these donuts are HUGE and fairly priced. I will definitely be coming back
When you are traveling sometimes you need something that?s give you energy and this is one for me. The chocolate frosting was absolutely to die for, I want to eat just a container of it alone! We had a good mix of cake donuts and fried and they all got good reviews from us. I'll be thinking about Peterson's for a long time because we don?t live close.
Monique is so nice and has great customer service. Her suggestions on donuts were super considerate with advising some donuts were just freshly made. She made my first experience one to remember and I will be returning! She suggested the pillows, freshly made chocolate donuts, and the basketball and soccer ball donuts! She also suggested a freshly made maple and the French crullers. I?ll definitely have to come back for those ones.
New ownership, not the same. My husband and I have visited Peterson?s donuts many times. Our first visit that was over 2+ years ago was amazing, their famous pillow donuts were light and fluffy, full of flavor and freshness was never an issue. Our several visits in the last couple of months, without fail ?has been disappointing. On this visit, we got the typical glazed Peterson pillow donut and it was totally off. The dough was dense, it was not fluffy or airy. In general ?it seems like the formulation h
disappointed ! We thought they are some special , freshly made donuts . Nothing special ? just giant , super sweet , dry donuts ?.you can get the same at Ralph or Walmart ? we were told that they are made at night so ours were cold and dry .
Amazing original donuts. These are the best donuts, period. The serving portions are very generous, and the selection is fantastic. Try this place for your self. ??
This place is amazing. Such a different variety of donuts....oooh you can stay there all day and have a different one every hour!!!! Parking is tight but service is so quick that the wait is not long. Service, is very friendly and also quick.....just look at the board before you get to the window and get some good old fashioned yummy donuts and treats. ENJOY......
Food was OK. Big portions, but not as good as expected. They were out of the strawberry cruller and they were out. Ordered the maple bacon pillow (similar to a cronut) and they said they were out. I had to show her where it was. They need a better system to know what they have. No apparent bathroom to wash your hands if you eat on their tables.
Donuts we chose were a little cakey. The filling in the cookies n cream one did NOT disappoint. It was amazing. The cashier/server lady seemed to be in a rush and did not greet me or smile. For the hype, it was ok. I?ll try more filling ones next time.
Oh my gosh! Ever since I was a little kid my dad always went to this donut shop when he went to San Diego. He went last night and brought home some of my favorite donuts. The quality is amazing and the taste is even better. They've been making the same amazing donuts for years. I completely recommend this place!
There are so many great options to choose from. We've been 3 separate times and I still haven't been able to try everything I want to. Looking forward to our next visit!
Talk about an upscale donut. This is a quality donut. I look forward to going here with my mom after church every Sunday. The Fritter the Bavarian cream Maple bar everything there is good.
Lived in Esco since the 80?s and can tell you that the new ownership is not making the same delicious donuts I ate growing up here. They taste fake. In fact I took one bite of my chocolate cake donut and threw it away. It was that bad. Will not be eating here anytime soon. Such a disappointment.
They are hands down the best in San Diego County. I have tried them all, and i won't say any names. We have good number of donut spots with good donuts. This is BEST of the BEST. They should be open 7 days a week and 24 hrs. OMG. Two THUMBS UP. ????
The donuts are super fresh, very delicious, and not overly rich. Princess have gone up a bit, but you get quality donuts that are a must have!!!
24 hour donut place! The donuts are delicious. My favorites are cinnamon cronuts and the apple fritters. ??
Best donuts we've had in years! The apple fritter was amazing. The old fashion was just as good and my husband is heating up his cinnamon roll, the size of his head, tomorrow morning for breakfast. These donuts are huge!!! I highly recommend this place!!!
Amazing donuts! My son and I made a special trip to try these donuts and it was well worth the drive. My favorite was the butter log and my son loved the chocolate zebra. He also got a ham and cheese croissant which was delicious!
What's the point of opening your donut shop till 2am when you don't have donuts in stock? Went to the donut shop at 6pm and were out of the most common and hyped donuts. No need to go to the place after 6pm because you're not gonna find any of the good donuts available and more of the donuts that you can find somewhere closer and cheaper.
The staff is friendly and I love the idea of supporting this Esco institution but have to say that I have gone 2x and both times been disappointed. The donuts are huge. But unfortunately bigger doesn?t mean better. I think to deliver that size donut for the price they are using cheaper ingredients and it is not a good trade off. The raspberry filling in the donut I had tasted mostly like sugar, no real raspberry flavor. The Nutella filling was also overly sweetened, as was the icing on the Vincent. And last
This is a must stop when in Escondido... Had to stop to try the pillow donuts.. So yummy and they have even more selection then ever.
The donuts were massive. They had a wife selection. Some of the donuts didn't taste fresh. It was a hit and miss with the quality of the freshness.
The worst thing about this place is that I don't live near it to go all the time. ?? I am a donut person and always want to try at least one donut place while I'm on vacation. Peterson's was one we saw while in the area and we stopped by. Wow were we glad we did. The maple bar is triple the size of any maple bar I've got before and the frosting tasted so good, not artificial like some places can be. The chocolate frosting was absolutely to die for, I want to eat just a container of it alone! We had a good m
It is definitely nice that this place is open late. They have a large variety of specialty donuts. The hot croissants are delicious. Something to be aware of is that the later you go, the selection does get smaller and run the risk of getting a stale donut.
This place has been a staple in Escondido since the mid-1980s. Reasonably priced, great selection, always fresh and tasty. Their peanut butter cookies are off the charts! It helps that their staff is awesome. Only downside is you might have to wait in line because they are popular.
Fresh inexpensive donuts open 24/7. A cheerful corner stop with a great amount of parking and covered patio. The service was cheerful, patient and knowledgeable. They advertise over at Jesmind Dene park and I was delighted I tried it. My husband was especially happy about the always open part do he can buy donuts early in the morning for his command. Look forward to going again!
Excellent donuts! Employees are friendly! Make sure you have cash cos there?s a surcharge on card purchases. Definitely recommend the plain buttermilk, glazed donuts to try!
Giant donuts and the service is always wonderful, these people seem to love their job and that's always a great thing to see
Best doughnuts I have had In a long time. Plan to wait a few minutes as they are popular and there is normally a line. Well worth the wait.
This place is overrated. I've spent a lot of money here just trying to find something that is worth while to order and each time I'm disappointed. I also order for my kids and try theirs and still not great. Donuts are dry, dough is tasteless or not sweet, its just an average donut place with special design donuts, but you'll spend a lot trying them.
I grew up near here, and was a happy fat kid growing up... After coming here i'm still a happy fat adult. FRESH delicious donuts and very reasonable pricing. They are open 364/24/7 - what can you not like about that? You can have your donut fix anytime you want! There can be a line, and can be a wait - depending on when you go, but they are generally pretty quick and have 2 lines open. My favorite is the cinnamon crumb donut - soft, not too sweet and makes an excellent companion with milk. It is one o
Heard about this place by accident, drove by it by accident, and decided to give it a try. The bakery has no inside store, just 3 windows for ordering. Lots of traditional and trending donuts. The donuts here are bigger than other places. Our favorite is the basic glazed twist, it is big and fluffy, one of the best donut I've ever tasted. Bear claws are good too. They also have croissants and cronuts and muffins. There are outdoor stone benches for sitting. Will definitely come by again.
I?ve been eyeing this place for a while and the other morning I decided I?d grab some donuts. Parking was easy to find. I walked up to the stand and there was a small line, about four people in front of me but the line was moving fast. The people in line were very kind als9, making recommendations too me and just being helpful! They have an outdoor seating area with a menu posted to read while you?re in line. The donuts are listed but the description of the donuts isn?t listed so most people just pick once
Best. Donut. Ever. Oh, my! So good, and they are massive. They also have loads of choices. Blueberry cake was dreamy good. Oh, and give the maple bar with the bacon chips on top. It?s a beautiful blend of sweet and salty. Wherever you are in LA deserves a trip to Peterson?s donut!
I don?t have a lot to say about this place. Best donuts I?ve had in my entire life. Great price for how huge the donuts are, and most of the time they are still warm since they are made same-day. Highly recommend the buttermilk bar and apple fritter!
I?ve been ordering donuts here for special occasions for a few years now. Unfortunately, they now charge almost $3 for a basic glazed donut, making 3 dozen donuts over $100!! Crazy high prices for a basic donut. Plus, their website still has the old prices, so it?s like they?re falsely advertising things that are half the price.
I have been coming to Peterson?s donut corner since I was a kid and honestly it never disappoints me. Best spot in town for donuts true classic??????
Peterson's Donut Corner is a definite go to spot for donuts and baked goods in Escondido. The donuts are fresh and tasty always. They have a great variety to offer. My Favorite are the cake donuts plain or maple frosted and the custard-filled donuts. Cake donuts are how I measure a donut shop. Peterson's are not greasy or overly sweet like other donut shops. The yeast donuts remind me of the ones my mother used to make. Service is friendly and prices are great. And it's a locally owned spot as well.
I visited Peterson's Donut Corner in Escondido for the first time yesterday with my husband. We were excited to try this place. As mentioned, this was our first time here so naturally we weren't familiar with the menu or how things are operated here. From the beginning the young lady helping us was not very helpful. We ordered items and she would say "we don't have that" in an annoyed tone. I asked if my croissant could be warmed and she said "I guess", again with an attitude. When she returned I asked her
Peterson's has the best donuts I've ever had! I love the taste, the texture, the cake, the frosting, and the variety. The chocolate and maple bars are gigantic. I've been telling people about this place for 15+ years. I couldn't recommend more strongly. Personal favorites are the old fashioned chocolate dipped, butter log, and crumb. Cash/Debit only. Open 24 hours, except for on Mondays and holidays.
Best donuts around. Almost always busy, so it's understandable that the service isn't always cheerful when they have to serve that many idiots. Not the most wonderful location, but worth it.
Ive been coming here for several years now and the donuts are always fresh and a big bang for your buck! Their portions are bigger than your average donut shop yet they are still affordable and delicious. They are open 24 hours on most days. Never had a bad experience and i always find the 30+ minute drive worth while. I could easily go to any donut shop in south san diego but they?re just that good!
Best donuts I?ve had in a long, long time. I brought them to work and everyone loved them!
If you've never been to Peterson's Donuts, you havent lived!!! This is the BEST donut spot in San Diego County! And it's even open 24 hours a day!! There's a $h!t load of different types of donuts for you to choose from. Try a Cronut if you've never had one! You owe it to yourself. My favorite are anything maple. They layer it on thick! Do yourself a favor and make a trip to go try it or just go back and have another go at it!!
this place was insaine we waited mabey 10 minutes they didnt have alot as they where baking more we got a good selection for a decent price for 6 donuts about 12$ give er take tottally worth it
I can come here and enjoy my donut but I can't have milk becuase they want to overcharge for the shit. the donuts is already 5 dollars like damn.....3.25 for a 12oz milk yall crazy....a gallon of milk cost 3.99 from the store!! And the same.milke from. 7.11 cost $1.89... Thank you
Peterson donuts shop is pretty popular in Escondido CA. Their donuts looks little bigger than others and taste so delicious. I wish they will sell coffee to go with donuts in the future. Plus, they are open 24hrs.
My first time after being advised by friends and reading some reviews. We had collection of donuts. Only One tasted so good, there is is special taste in the dough like nutmeg and pumpkin spice. However the rest was not as per expected and the dough was dry more like a muffin than a donut which made us disappointed. Also we got another 6 pc paid 13$ kinda expensive. I have tried from donutgram in Escondido it was fluffier sorry but over reputation for Peterson.. but although this experience was bad i will t
Oh Petersons, you always make me smile. your Texas size donuts are AMAZING!! This time I got your cinnamon roll that almost the size of my head. And the fact that I got to share your delicious treats with my family I'm happy to say they where also super impressed with the friendly service and selection that you offer. We also go a cronut, and this delicious blueberry roller. So good!!! Well I hope you had a Merry Christmas. See ya next year.
Great classic donut shop. Donuts were fresh and tasty. We got the Apple fritter and chocolate bar.
Great donuts and a rare 24hr spot in north county. Their red velvet cake donut is amazing. Trust me this donut will impress your wife or girlfriend and ladyfriends.
Inheard a lot about this shop and the donuts we pretty good.
Hands down the best cake donuts that I have ever had! everything is fresh, sometimes hot and always delicious, when in Escondido I make sure to stop by and get not only some donuts to eat then. but I always take some home with me to Colorado.
Such a cool spot escondido is full of cool spots but Peterson is amazing great donuts old school donut shop vibes and now they have a factory right next door where they get fresh fresh donuts so nice I said it twice
I didn?t see why people rave about this place. For my taste, donuts were low average. But the have a crazy wide selection of donuts! Maybe thats why people rave!
