Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop

Reviews Summary

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is a beloved, old-school spot with a strong following for its fresh, flavorful donuts at affordable prices. Many praise the blueberry cake, coconut cream, and jelly donuts for their authentic taste and texture. The nostalgic vibe and friendly service add to the charm, though some find the donuts overrated or inconsistent. Cash-only policy and long lines are common drawbacks, and a few criticize rude service or stale products. While most reviews are glowing, some note mixed quality or recommend visiting off-peak hours. Overall, it’s a must-try for donut lovers, especially if you appreciate classic, no-frills bakeries.

Customer Reviews

The iconic Peter Pan was packed on this perfect picturesque day. The donuts are huge, delicious and reasonably priced. The crazy long line moved super fast. Dressed in bright colored smocks the donut specialists (?) were friendly and easily handled the multiple hungry customers on line. These donuts are so so good. Enjoy

Peter Pan Donuts is our go-to breakfast spot?my daughter and I can?t get enough! The donuts are absolutely delicious, always fresh, and pair perfectly with the casual, welcoming vibe. We?re also obsessed with their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches?seriously, some of the best around. Everything is so affordable. The staff are friendly, the place has that classic diner charm, and it?s just a joy to start our day here. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great food and a laid-back atmosphere.

Oh my Goodness! The donuts ?? my favourite was the coconut cream! Definitely would go again to try out the other flavours! 1 donut is $2.25

$1.95 for one of the BEST donuts you?ll ever have? Sweet deal. Their Blueberry Buttermilk donut is a KNOCKOUT. So flavorful and an amazing texture. Glazed and crispy on the outside, moist and dense in the best kind of way within. This place was so good we waited in line to try their Maple donut too. Also delicious but not as special as the blueberry one. The place is cute and has an old timey diner vibe too!

They are known for the delicious doughnuts. I usually get the honey glazed, I went with the old fashioned glazed today. The toasted coconut is also amazing. The everything flagle is bomb. Tasty with a satisfying crunch!

I get the hype. The blueberry cake donut really has a blueberry flavor that doesn't taste artificial. And the yeast doughnuts are very fluffy, not greasy, and fresh tasting. The strawberry frosting also tasted non-artificial which was great. You have to know what you want without being able to see all the doughnuts first so be ready. There are bar seatings.

Donuts are amazing! Bagels are amazing! Coffee amazing! Hot coco amazing! The Bacon egg and cheese is delicious! The brownie was delightful. However, it had nuts. I have an allergy as so unfortunately I could not consume it once I took the first bite and saw it. The service was very good. The girls are super friendly and patient with you while you choose what you want. My two boys enjoyed everything and so did I ! I will be going back when ever given the opportunity <3

We hit up Peter Pan in Brooklyn twice?yeah, it?s that good! Perfect breakfast spot with amazing prices, delicious coffee, and super friendly staff. The vibes here are unbeatable. Our top picks? The Blueberry and the French Cruller?absolute must-tries. Honestly, this place is easily one of the best highlights in New York. If you?re in the city, don?t skip it! Check out both visits here: Link 1 and Link 2

excellent yeasted donuts! would recommend the coconut cream and honey dip donuts for sure - especially the latter if you like plain glazed donuts. i was afraid the coconut cream was going to be too heavy or too sweet but it was actually quite light and fluffy. the red velvet and sour cream donuts were pretty good as well, but we just aren't big fans of cake donuts. one of the servers offered us water when she saw us eating the cake donuts which was a nice gesture. cumulatively this came out to under 8 dolla

I?ve been coming here for ages, before the lines would wrap around outside. It?s delicious and worth it. I just popped in for a coconut cream donut, it was so delicious and not cloyingly sweet the way many other places can be. It was delicious, and had nice fluffy coconut flakes on the top. My dad?s favorite from here was the crumb cake. You can see a huge slab of it when you walk in. Some additional notes, there is some seating here but it is limited. There?s also bagels of course and breakfast sandwiches

NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. Moes Doughs on Nassau is STILL THE KING. I ordered via Grubhub, half dozen, 3 classics and 3 specialties. They weren?t all that, honestly. It seems MOST of their donuts have some kind of cream in it, their red velvet with white icing on top tasted so off. I mean I guess. I wouldn?t go back though.

This a typical donut shop popular in the 70s-80s. Nothing special other than it gives you that nostalgic feeling. Donuts are normal, sweet, and delish but nothing over the top. If you are a tourist, sure it's worth a visit. But if you were born and raised in NY, you would not be wowed.

As classic as a donut shop can get! As soon as you walk up to the storefront, you know this place is something special. Walk inside to be greeted by a good line, classic donut, shop, counter, seating, and a bunch of ladies and old school uniforms, eager to help you choose your sweet culinary delight. Strongly recommend the sour cream donut, coffee cake, and cream chocolate sprinkle (reminds me of an old school 7 minute frosting with sprinkles on top). Also the best French crueler I?ve ever had in my life. W

I really liked Peter Pan bakery! This is a classic bakery with a vintage 1950s vibes to it. Whenever I come here, I always get the red velvet donut, which is delicious. This donut is not too messy and has a classic taste to it. This place can get very busy at times and usually has a long line. It is also really hard to find seating in the bakery since all the seats are usually taken. But waiting on the line for 10-15 minutes is worth it since the donut is really good and really priced well. The donuts are o

People ask me all the time where our my go-to doughnut spots in New York. Peter Pan is at the top of the list. I've only been there once, but it was that unforgettable. I got up early just to get over there before a busy day of meetings and then had to fly out later that day. I loved the old-time diner feel to it and you could tell there are decade-long regulars that go there. That feels like a rarity these days. We're all too busy to sit and have a cup of coffee/hot chocolate and a doughnut. I got two

This place is an absolute gem if you want to eat some of the best donuts you've ever had and wash them down with a cup of solid, no frills coffee. Do yourself a favor and grab a seat for the full experience.

Awesome vibe, some of the donuts are amazing while others so and so - I recommend the apple crumble and toasted coconut, as well as the plain jelly ? Coffee is one dollar and a great addition!

Donuts ---- I don't know if it just was not our day but most of the Donuts we bought were super dry and stale. My husband drove an hour to buy them before 9am because of the hype in IG. He bought 2 honey, 2 blueberries, 2 choc and 2 choc/coconut. Only the honeys were good - really good I must say!! The others were so dry it crumbled as we bite them. I hate leaving a bad review because I've read the reviews and comments of this store and a lot of customers truly loved their pastries; but as for our experienc

Donuts aren't stellar, but the classic vibe of the place is great. Enjoyable experience overall. (CASH ONLY)

Grabbed 8 donuts and found them to be mixed. The red velvet was average, same with chocolate chip, however the apple crumb donuts was delicious. I'd go back but be decisive about which you grab.

The real deal and staff fits the atmosphere of step back in time. Fast moving and all donuts excellent. Service very personal and efficient despite the crush of customers who know a good thing! Loved their crullers and Boston cream ones. Bring cash - no cards or other options.

If I lived nearby I would probably visit every single morning? Old fashioned donuts with a twist. You can tell how much love goes into their place. There?s an old school vibe when you walk into the pastry shop. As soon as you enter, the service counter is to the left and further in there?s old fashioned turn stool seating with a pastry bar area where you can order coffee, bagels and their signature donuts. If you?re a donut lover - this is THE PLACE.

Definitely a must try! Their buttermilk blueberry and sour cream cake donuts are phenomenal with a not too oily taste and wonderful glaze and interior flavor. The raised donuts were alright (had the Bavarian cream which had a great cream flavor with a hint of lemon, rose jam and coconut cream) but probably taste better fresh as they were already feeling a little stale by 12pm. Cash only so definitely bring enough, tho really they sell everything at a great price. And be prepared to navigate through peopl

The donuts were truly amazing, we tried the apple crumb, the old fashioned cake and the chocolate sprinkle, super yummy!

This was a disappointment. I love doughnuts, and I've eaten a lot of doughnuts from a lot of different cities. I didn't like these. I tried several: honey dip, chocolate icing, chocolate eclair, strawberry danish, cake doughnut. They ranged from passable to meh. The texture is good on the yeast doughnuts, but there's a weird aftertaste I didn't like. Also, no custard in the eclair, just a whipped icing. The place is obviously popular, so my opinion is in the minority.

I?ve been here half a dozen times and it does not disappoint. Excellent selection of donuts, maybe the best in NYC. Personally I love the chocolate cake and jelly donuts but don?t think there?s anything you can go wrong with here. Just remember to bring cash!

THE BEST. I somehow have the habit of arriving right as they close, hoovering up the funny leftover flavours, and still have a good time. Where else can you get coffee for a dollar, world-class donuts for two (and a quarter), and watch the world go by?

Really good donuts. And not expensive at all! Great service. Long line but moves fast.

I?m so confused about these good reviews. I went in at 4:30 thinking I was gonna get a fresh donut. It was stale and cold from the day before. I tried several and each one was a tasteless cloud of sugar. Wildly disappointing. The vibes are cute though! But definitely wouldn?t go back for food.

My boyfriend and I adored this spot. We were looking for a great place to find a good breakfast that would hit the spot. We were not disappointed one bit. We went all the way to Brooklyn from Manhattan just to try this spot and we will definitely be doing it again on our next trip. We tried a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and it was one of the best I?ve ever had (this is coming from a NOLA local). We also tried some glazed donuts and they were wonderful. If you?re staying in Manhattan or surrounding area

Classic/old-fashioned place for breakfast and doughnuts. They only take cash and don?t serve specialty coffees. Its hard to find space to sit. The place is small and always packed.

Peter Pan Donut Shop is hands down my favorite donut spot! The staff is always incredibly kind and friendly, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. It's one of the few old-school gems still around in the neighborhood, and you can really feel the nostalgia when you walk in. A heads-up: make sure to bring cash, as that's the preferred payment method here. Highly recommend!

This place serves up some really good donuts, bagels, baguettes, rolls, breakfast and lunch sandwiches everyday. They are best known around the neighborhood for their donuts at this location. You need to get there early because donuts are freshly made, so they sell out fast and all the best flavor or best donuts go really fast. Oh another thing is, get ready to wait on line every now and then, doesn't happen every time but it does happen. When you buy a dozen donuts to take somewhere for an occasion, don't

Iconic location. The Donuts are absolutely legendary, however, the bagel sandwiches are also truly top tier. Get both and eat them in the park while dog watching! Be prepared to wait in line during peak hours.

Just found this place by walking by. Walked in because of the window display and line wrapping around the shop. Did not disappoint! I got the jelly donut and the chocolate cruller, both were amazing! I'd go as far as saying best I've ever had. Super fresh and soft. Even the jelly was so fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend. **CASH ONLY

First time having the donuts Woooooow best I ever tasted I bought a dozen I should?ve bought 3 dozen I wish you opened up in south nj I would come in every day

We have been coming to Peter Pan donut for as long as my family can remember and it will always be the best donuts for us! Amazing service & staff as well.

Moderately disappointing. I ordered four donuts: toasted coconut, s'mores, chocolate cake, and maple old fashioned. The maple old fashioned and chocolate cake were very dry and lacked their respective flavors. In addition to them being dry, they were crunchy and hard as a rock which was what I was not expecting from them. The best donut was the toasted coconut which was very soft and the coconuts were cooked perfectly. The s'mores donut was alright, but instead of marshmallow fluff, they seemed to have used

Solid donuts. Cash only. The cash only bit surprised us for sure - luckily we brought some cash with us. All good Peter Pan Donuts, I won't tell the IRS anything ;) You need to come early to get a good selection. We came about 4 hours before closing on Saturday and they did't have much left. However, some winners were the Honey Dip which is akin to your classic yeasted glazed donut (delicious!) as well as the White Cream donut which was also quite good. I also got a Cruller which I didn't like and don't

Great staff, great donuts and great prices! Well worth the subway trip, just remember, cash only!

if Williamsburg is a neighborhood that you absolutely must visit, it is also thanks to this place, the only real problem is how long you have to stay there to be able to try as many things as possible, so you just have to make up your mind about what to taste and what to sacrifice.

Man these donuts are great!!! Please stop here when you get the chance; their donuts are fresh and they have a lot of variety!! They are CASH ONLY so make sure you come prepared!

I had the worst experience. This place does not tell you it?s cash only. I went here on my coworkers? recommendation and after the lady boxed everything, she tells me cash only!! I asked if I could Venmo or Zelle and they only take Zelle. I tried the Zelle app and their QR code did NOT work . Then I tried writing out their Zelle email - and it didn?t work! They make it so complicated! They don?t even have a phone number for Zelle. Horrible customer service. And then they rushed me because of the line. Never

Iconic. Yeast and cake donuts, pastries, diner-esque breakfast and sandwiches. Every flavor is fantastic - but the sour cream is hands down my favorite. It's always busy so the donuts are always fresh. The space isn't huge so expect a line and a crowd - but a small price to pay for some of the best donuts in the city.

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is the Avenger?s hangout spot! The 60 year old family owned donut shop serves thousands of donuts a day. Marvel fans are here to stay. So many options and literally every single donut melts in your mouth. They stayed fresh for two whole days! Couldn?t resist trying every single one of them.

Finally made it here and man I already want to go back. The donuts melt in your mouth. The cream tastes amazing. The jelly is clearly made in house because it tastes so good. I could?ve eaten a box of 6 myself! Wow you need to go here if you like donuts! It?s the best I have had in NYC!

Amazing place. Best quality/ price pastries I?ve found here so far. I tried the apple fritter and also the coconut chocolate donut. Both amazing. Also tried the blueberry muffin which was good but not as great as the rest. If you?re in the zone it?s a must try. Cash only but the guys were super friendly so no star lost because of it.

I went around 2:30 p.m., and the donuts were still fresh. They ran out of the original glaze by the time I got here, but all the donuts I got were amazing.

Excellent donut shop. We went in because it was featured in the newest Spiderman movie. Lucky for us, the donuts were delicious. The milkshake was phenomenal. The service was great. They have is a great suggestion for a pizza shop. Magda was our server and she was fun and friendly.

To be completely honest, I don?t understand the hype with this place, at all? we bought 2 donuts and one eclair, the only eat-able one was the donut filled with Boston Cream. The blueberry donut was the worst one, was very oily and fried, you cannot call that a donut at all!

The donut was so SOFT AND FLUFFY like literally didnt expect it to be that fluffy! The only cons is u can kinda taste the greasy oil! But it is $2.50 which is such a good deal ! Would defo comeback if im nearby the area!!! 9/10 CASH ONLY

I got the honey glazed and chocolate cake donut, was nice and moist. Also tried the vanilla sprinkle, old fashioned and blueberry. You get 6 donuts for around $12. Yum ????

I haven?t had good affordable donuts like this in a minute. Price was right and the donuts were perfect. Just like back in the day. The powdered jelly was the bomb if you like jelly donuts. I also tried the sugar jelly donut . But the powder is the way to go. I also tried the chocolate frosted, the Boston cr?me and the eclair. All excellent, I was really surprised. Thank god this place isnt close to my house or I would eat to many of them. Enjoy the best donuts I had in a minute. There is a wa

One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in NY. There are only things I love here, the staff, the bagels, the huge variety of delicious donuts, the customers, the layout and of course the breakfast options!!! Worth checking out. Pricing is great too.

My favorite is Apple Crumble! Always here are busy and waiting lines. However, it worths to wait for ordering. They delivered fresh donuts every day! No doubts! Highly recommend here! Keep in mind, here is cash only.

Line was very long. Followed the hype on TikTok. Defiantly not worth the hype. Staff was rude and passive aggressive. We asking about vegan options and they were condescending. Tried the sugar and the Boston cream and chocolate sprinkle. Very average taste.

I?m here visiting for the holidays and tried this place? The chocolate donut taste like old grease?I don?t know what else they sale here but yeah..Not good at all I threw it out?

Just a damn good experience. Pro tip: go sit down and eat there. It's the ultimate experience! Bagels were great. Coffee was great. Apple fritter thing was great. Service was great!

Busy spot for some baked goods and sweets. You have the option of ordering to-go or sitting down. Tried the bowtie, it was not bad. Oh, and it's cash only.

Read about Peter Pan Donut shop in an article & since I was on vacation from work it was the perfect time for me to do some dessert hunting in Brooklyn. It was def worth making the trip from Queens. If you plan on driving, like me, just know street parking gets full here fast & you will probably have to drive around the block couple of times before you can find an open spot. Most if it is metered parking. Inside has a nice & cozy vibe. I love that they still use the classic white & red thread to tie the b

SUPER BUSY AND SUPER PACKED! Best to know what you want beforehand or try your best to figure out what?s available. I went and the lines were out the door and blocking the majority views of what doughnuts were there. The good part was lines were fast due to the number of girls working but at the same time, I didnt really see what they had so I was rushed to pick whatever came to mind. I would come again but not on a weekend to see if it?s better. The doughnuts were very fresh, and tasty.

Came here because this place appeared in Spider-Man no way home. Since I was tourist-ing in NYC said why not?. The Donuts are so delicious and the prices are really nice to your wallet. Staff was nice too definitely coming back.

Great place..love it.. Expect long lines that do move atca fair pace and trouble with parking..But the donuts are awesome.. Apple crumb, raspberry jam, Boston creme are my favorite.

It?s iconic and for good reason! The freshness of the donuts are exceptional and with good prices to match. Their selection is classic but also experimental, just something for everyone. The Sugar Classic is easily the best but notable mention to the Toasted Coconut, never had anything like that before!

Wasn?t impressed in my first visit, but probably will give it another chance. I had a Toasted Coconut Donut ($1.25 for any donut) which was slightly tough and chewy. Coffee $1.00 You can stay inside for that you need to get through the crowd and take a sit, when someone is available they?ll come to take your order. They have breakfast sandwich options or you can have same donut and coffee. For those who?s taking ~To Go~ orders be prepared to stay in the line for 10-15 mins!! The wait is worth it only if you

There was a line that moved quickly. Got a dozen mixed was $25. Donuts were good various flavors ,but they became somewhat stale after about 2 days.

Donuts ?? are Like a cloud with whipped airy cream !!! Not overly sweet at all ,but just the right balance!!! By 12 noon more than half the Donuts are gone!! Do I need to say more !

This place is my special special place. It?s truly a treasure. I was first introduced to this historic landmark over 10 years ago. And have not found a better place since. Always a good time when I go. Feels like it always stays true to itself. Doughnuts are always fresh and tasty and worth every penny. ( which are priced insanely well) there?s a little bar with stools to stay and eat. There BEC on a fresh homemade everything roll is LIFE. Coffee is simple and true. Did I mention I love this place... love t

Such a great place. Love the variety of donuts, the counter to sit and eat, the delicious bagels, the prices, and the overall atmosphere. The cruller was the best I've tried, sour cream donut was special as well. Smoked salmon cream cheese bagel was awesome as well.

Everybody was packed like sardines in this place and for good reason. Fresh affordable donuts, friendly staff, lightning fast service, and so many flavors... it shouldn't be allowed for a place to be this perfect It's a HUGE pain in the ass to get here because it takes 2 train transfers for me but I'll be coming back

Trust me, you want this?every day. Diet-smashingly delicious. Excellent quality every time. Classic atmosphere. Order to go or sit down at the old-school diner-style counters. Can be busy at peak hours, but line moves quickly and staff is friendly. They are famous for their donuts, but the bagel sandwiches and other menu items are also great. Viva Peter Pan!

Cash only, great tasting donuts with alot of variety. There is always a line, be prepared to wait a bit but totally worth it. The sugar raise and smores are my favorites.

Really really good donuts!! Can?t beat $3 for 2 great tasting donuts. Would recommend the apple crumble donut but blueberry buttercream was also good. Note that they only accept cash so make sure you have a couple dollars. Will be coming back so i can try more flavors!

I never write negative reviews but I suddenly was reminded of my experience here because I was craving the donut I got? the honey dip, which was delicious!! The honey gave the donut so much depth. However, I?m not sure I?d want to go back, as the service was horrible. I saw a video about the story/history of this mom and pop donut shop on social media and was expecting a cozy, welcoming vibe, but it certainly wasn?t like that. My partner and I came on a slow weekday afternoon (4/4 to be exact, since I see

Been coming here on and off for 3 decades. They are the best. Get there early on weekends. I can't understand any bad reviews about them, they are that good. Nothing fancy, just delicious.

I was first introduced to Peter Pan Donuts the summer I lived in Greenpoint for a college internship. I can still remember the devastatingly sweet smell of donuts on my way to the subway every morning (and the willpower I would have to drum up to stop myself from going in and buying 5). The whole shop is a step back into the 1950's with the pink and teal uniforms and their tiered basket display of donuts behind the counter. They only take cash, so come prepared. They have all the old school yeast and cake

Do yourself a favor and just go. Expect a line for the counter or for takeaway, but everything they churn out is delicious. Donuts ?? bagels ?? and egg sandwiches are all A++ ??

Classic American style donuts. We got the jelly donut and it was perfectly fluffy. And filled with just the right amount of jelly. Really fresh too. It?s also a reasonable price. $1.50 for one donut. It can?t get any better than that. Cash only.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! Worst donut I?ve ever had in my life DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS! There was an after taste, it was stale, I?m telling it?s terrible. Don?t waste your money

If I could give this place 10 stars. I definitely would. I visited at a really busy time. Sunday around 12:30... Although the line was long, it moved very quickly. I only bought three donuts. A coconut cream , A toasted coconut, And a apple crumb.. All of them were amazing but the toasted coconut really stood out. This wasn't my first time visiting, But it had been roughly seven or eight years I since I last visited. I remember the donuts were really good but when I went last week , I really wanted to turn

The donuts are a good, but I think they are a bit overrated. I had the toasted coconut, cider donut, and the French toast donut. They were quite dry, and weren't as good as a donut from just about anywhere else fresh out of the fryer. I liked the old school charm of the donut shop, but the donuts aren't mindblowing. I would definitely stop here if this was my local donut shop, but there are other comparable or better options throughout the city.

To say this is the best donut shop ever is an understatement. Cash only. Fresh every morning. Sweet polish spot with the most delicious and perfect priced donuts. I eat an Apple fritter a day when I come to town because they are just that good. Other notable donuts: French cruller, raspberry filled, toasted coconut, and their big beautiful black and white cookies

Ordered two croissants and a muffin from there thru grubhub. Croissants were store bought looked and tasted like costco croissants and muffins were storebought too and very stale. Nothing was fresh

Best donuts around! Had Peter Pan Donuts for all my occasions and they never disappoint. Always fresh quality and tastes delicious. You can dine in for a cup of coffee and the best bacon egg and cheese in town! If you haven?t tried them yet, you are missing out!

So delicious ?? so many options to choose from such as pastries, donuts, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. You must get the apple fritter and the red velvet cream topping donut. Excellent customer service and the employees all followed the Covid precautions. Please note this is a cash only cafe. Plus you can not bet the price ?? This is definitely a great place to visit while in NYC ????

Peter Pan is an absolute must for any visit to Greenpoint. Must take to a McCarren or Transmitter Park picnic. This place is a rare gem in New York City where you can get quality for a decent price. Each donut is less than $2 and are arguably the best in the city. The entire shop has this fifties mom and pop shop vibe to it with the teal and pink smocks to match. There are old school stools surrounding the waitress bar so you can order a meal (if you can get a seat) and get a full breakfast too. The donu

I llooooooveeee the Old Fashioned Donut, its my favorite ?????? shout out to Kasia, she is super friendly, best service ever!! I like their Bacon Egg and Cheese and I add tomato as well. They have lots of donuts to choose from. They have sitting area. Be patient, it's so worth the wait. ??????

Got the cruller, and it was delicious and inexpensive. Note they only accept cash, so be prepared, but would go again!
