Paul's Donuts Subs & Gyros

Paul's Donuts Subs & Gyros

Reviews Summary

Paul's offers a mix of experiences with generally positive feedback for its gyros, breakfast tacos, and donuts, praised for flavor and generous portions. Service is often friendly, but some staff members are noted for rudeness. Consistency issues arise with food quality (burnt items, dry chicken) and occasional shortages. Cleanliness and organization are occasional concerns, and online order reliability is spotty. While many love the cozy, local vibe, a few criticize pricing changes and portion sizes. High marks for breakfast and Greek dishes, but some diners face disappointments with burgers or service mishaps.

Sausage rolls were very good, bread was soft and light? sausage was good quality The apple fritter was great.. There was almost a funnel cake crisp to the outer edge., huge portion too

Stop in if you're in funky town for the vanilla folks that's Fort Worth. Good place to get a donut ?? or gyro ??. I get the lunch special and feel special. It's dated the only reason why I can't give that elusive give star ? but a good spot to stop in for a bite.

Eeeh it was ok. I went initially to get a sub for my wife but the gal told me they were all out of deli meat for any sub. Ok, cool but y'all have it on your sign as a sub shop lol. The inside is a bit, well not the most well put together but it serves its purpose. There are tables and chairs, plenty of seating.

Iconic neighborhood hole in the wall. I come here for breakfast all the time. Food is great, especially the super taco! Great donuts. The line is oddly slow sometimes during the week so I can't come unless I have a good 15 minutes to wait in line and then wait for the food to be ready. That's the only reason I don't give it 5 stars.

I love Paul's. We came for lunch. Both had hamburger with fries. Delicious. I have had several different things. The breakfast is amazing. If you want donuts get there early because they sell out.

Got there Saturday morning 640am, thinking the selection of donuts would be like what I saw on their website. 1. Dimly lit in the whole place, the selection of donuts was basic. 2. I asked what kind of filled "donuts" they had and was told they were not ready. I selected 6 donuts for almost $8.00. got home they were so dry I didn't even finish the one I broke in half. I will stick to my regular donut shop by my house, they never let me down. Paul's was just around the corner from where I worked after

Ordered a 12 inch, got a 8 inch! -Bread was worse than cardboard, stale and Un-chewable - cheap ingredient, children's cheese awful Bread. -Skip the sandwich order the gyro plate. That's where they shine.

Very nice people?? The place was ready to close up but they took our order anyway... But then we are informed that they are out of chicken for 2 of our orders so we went with the burgers?? instead?? I had added several items to my burger which they seemed more than happy to accommodate me with. In a short time we had our burgers & fries?? and needed to leave so they could close up. We arrived at Trinity Park??for a nice little picnic only to find out that all my "extras" were never added to my burger?? ...

I found this place on doordash. I've ordered multiple times since then. The last time i ordered, I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast and didn't get the gravy with it. So I ate dry chicken fried steak. I also don't like that you can't choose over- medium for your eggs. Today, I'm looking at DD again and was wondering about the fried fish sandwich. I called the store to ask what type of fish it was bc I have certain dietary restrictions and was just told it was a frozen fish patty. I asked "do you kno

if you want delivery from here on a Saturday forget it! They say they close at 2 pm but if your ordering delivery thru Favor this restaurant will not fill your order n they do not answer their phone number that shows up on Google Maps either! So DANG FRUSTRATING!

This place is owned by some cambodians and the food is awesome and they have donuts and different breakfast delicious yummies. If you want to try some very good food and you're hungry and you want something cheap come here this place is a very very good place to eat. They take care of you and they are very good and happy people. I like coming here just because of the people that work here. And it's local and locally owned thank you though

Went today on a Saturday afternoon at 11am. They were out of a lot of items unfortunately. Thought they would be better prepared on a busy day. The woman working behind the counter was very unfriendly.

Best gyros anywhere! Don?t forget a box of chocolate chip or double chocolate cookies for the road. great tasting food and huge portions since I?ve been going to the original location and now this one since 1997. Don?t miss it!

I went to buy donuts, asked the female cashier if she accepted apple Pay, and she looked at me as if I was asking to steal the donuts or something. she was very rude for some reason!

Highly recommend the apple fritter! We got one for the table to share along with some breakfast Kolaches and it was everyone's favorite!

I got a gyro and fries. Both were bad. The lady at the front needs to work on customer service. Look at the picture. Terrible place.

Used to come to this place and was excited to be able to come back, but it was closed even though it said it was opened for another hour. Please update your hours.

Went to go pick up an order that I did online and got there and they said they don't get the online orders. Now I don't have time to reorder my food I have to make it back to work.

Tasty gyros with yummy cucumber sauce. Huge portions-- got 3 meals out of 1!

One of my favorite places for donuts. They?re the best!

cool little spot with lots of options. got some super burritos, kolaches and a croissant for my family and they loved them. the food was hot and the croissant was buttery and flaky. the folks at the counter are really friendly too. got my order in under five minutes. overall, i can't recommend this place enough.

Tried this place for the first time and I was not disappointed and a delicious cheese burger and fries I will be returning here often ??

When I ordered my food, the customer service was great. The employees were super nice. But this place needs to be cleaned. There?s papers in the kitchen from mail unorganized there?s boxes everywhere disorganized. The look inside can be welcoming but it?s very unwelcoming. There?s not much great upkeep and needs a revamp. The Gyro tasted decent. But the hamburgers had absolutely no taste. Try not to give negative feedback I look at the best in place. Trust me. I?d love to support this business but it needs

Such a good spot for food. I go here every time I?m in the area. Amazing gyro plate and cookies and donuts. Love this place!

Online showed a special for 6inch subs at 3.50$ my husband went to order and was told they don't sell subs anymore. It's literally in the name and on the site! We were offered nothing else no alternative or maybe a discount on other items for the inconvenience. Will not be returning.

Food is bad , toilets are unavailable and the place is sad. I don?t understand the global review rates

They need to update closing time on google. Got there before google said it closed and all doors were locked and was turned away.

This place is absolutely incredible. Some of the best and freshest donuts I?ve ever had. Do not be fooled by its humble appearance, they know their way around a kitchen.

Apple fritter was great. Gyros were super tasty.

Update from original post 4 days prior : Do not be fooled by the fake review by trill trill. You can tell it's a fabricated review because they are not using their real name and you also can tell because of the content and timing of their post to the content and timing of my post. It's either their employee or family member that posted within 24 hours after my review in a wilful deceptive attempt to offset the truth about the repeated terrible service from the girl with the attitude problem. Clearly they ar

I?m a regular I go there almost everyday and the two girls up front always make my day. They are quick and attentive! I recommend the Gyros Plate and the blueberry fitters.

Used to be 5 stars for me. The blueberry fritter and super tacos are awesome! I have never even gotten Greek entrees from here that's how good the breakfast is. However, it seems like without Paul around it has lost some of the charm. Still fantastic though.

Good gyros! Great cookies and very nice staff. Neat old building. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. Cleaning with horribly strong smelling chemical in a mop bucket while diners were still around. We were there around 12:30 so it's not like they were about to close. Ruined the last part of the lunch. We had to leave.

This place used to be the best place to get gluten friendly pizza now it?s frozen smaller crust and you are paying for the cheese but dont expect any sauce or cheese on it it?s some splatter on it . Gf is always more pricy but this is not worth it anymore Staff and cleanliness is always 10/10 perfection and friendliness and if you can eat gluten this is the place to go for sure if you mess gluten friendly options it?s a no

I love this place. Yummy food and friendly people. I especially like the welcoming faces of the employees in the front! The red head is my fav. These girls in the front are super sweet and caring! Best fritters too!

I recently visited Paul's and had a terrible experience with the incredibly rude cashier. The new owner seems to have let the place go, with the inside eating area being dirty and the overall landscape looking terrible. To make matters worse, there were flies in the display with the donuts and sausage rolls, which the cashier claimed nothing could be done about. My husband is understandably upset and demands a refund. , Cashier lady with blue hair was vulgar and showed no concern for customer service. I wil

I had two delicious gyros. The lamb was well seasoned and well cooked and the pita bread was soft with good flavor. The kicker that made it the best gyro I've had was the grilled onions My wife had a sausage roll and donut that both had great flavor. Both were very fresh as well. We had some baklava that was a little hard but still had good flavor We will definitely come back

I have loved this place for years but I cannot support this business anymore while they keep the employee with the red hair. I believe her name is Marlene. She is very rude for no reason and makes me feel uncomfortable. I keep trying to go hoping it turns around but her customer service makes it very obvious that my business is not wanted there. It?s gotten to the point going there ruins my mornings and after this last visit I?m done being treated this way.

Food has usually been good but today I have no idea what happened. It was after 11 am. The meat for gyro platter was overcooked and dry. The pita bread was hard and cold the only good thing was the salad. As for the chicken fried steak it was beyond overcooked and we were not even given gravy. As I was almost finished eating my salad (10 mins) the lady comes by and says oh I forgot your gravy. Onions rings that we ordered for a side were not even edible. They were hard as a rock. If I was a gyro I just driv

Met a colleague here for meeting and I was shocked and disappointed ?? with the delapitated condition of the exterior of the building and even the interior was just as bad. I won't be patronizing this business again. Definitely is in need of an upgrade.

Excellent service and delicious food. Someone complains about the prices, but I invite them to check out the competition. Places with lower prices just simply cannot top Paul's quality OR serving portions. I paid less than $10 for my lamb gyro and there was lots of lamb and salad on my plate. And let's not forget the donuts. These people know what they are doing when it comes to frying donuts. Not greasy at all...just very tasty ??

So we?ve passed by this place several times and finally decided to stop. Now it?s a weekly visit. Best gyros ever with a generous amount of meat and great soft bread. Taste is delicious. Donuts are awesome hamburgers are great. Everything I?ve had so far is so good. And the prices are as great as the food. Very nice staff. You really need to check this place if you haven?t. You?ll be glad you did!

Found this out of the way place who happens to be the only place around open during this winter extravaganza in Fort Worth...we got hamburgers and gyros...they do traditional gyros and chicken gyros and they were AWESOME! Having been over in the Mediterranean numerous times, I've had a few gyros in my time and these are exquisite! The sauce for them was wonderful! Get a chance check them out! And their donuts are wonderful too!!

Food well atleast breakfast is good but the place has been going down really bad the restrooms are old and dark no light and smell very bad like sewer the main floor to eat is soooo dirty kind of didn?t want to eat the food because it makes you think , how?s the food in the back ??! .. the ground was super dirty trash everywhere and we even saw a cockroach !! It even say hi to us ! .. just playing it was dead and I lost my appetite sorry Paul?s donuts yall used to be my go to spot , but now I need a new spo

Great little neighborhood spot that opens early and serves donuts all day. You can also order anything on the menu all day. Feel like a gyro at 7:00am? They'll fix you right up.

Super glad that Paul's is back open again for take out. Please go by and support this awesome local business. It's a rare combo place of donuts and also breakfast and lunch menu. You will love the gyro options; they are all good. Apple Fritters are the best. Coffee is excellent. Get over there and spend some money with these fine folks! Friendly owner and counter staff. Regular customers like us keep coming back because everyone is so nice and the food is great.

I will not be back. I have been buying the Apple fritters for a very long time?.never again. They were dry, burnt to a crisp and I never did get even a small bite of apple. Ordered a burger, it was cold, the meat patty was dry and prefabbed. The fries were ok, at least they were hot. What happened to the wonderful family that once owned this landmark? Please come back!!!

Used to work in the Medical District and this was always a favorite for donuts, fresh breakfast sandwiches or great quick lunch. I was in the area early this morning and went in to get sausage rolls for the office meeting today, and the bear claws were freshly glazed. Had to have one and OMG? it had the perfect crisp on the exterior, tender juicy apples and tender interior goodness. I swear it was the best one I?ve ever had!!! Check them out, if you haven?t before. If you have, go back again soon and su

Nearly everytime I either call or go there, over the last 2 months...they are sold out of the raspberry-filled eclair. It wasn't like that under the original owners, so I asked them about it and the guy said they will make more, but they never have. I understand food cost and preventing waste, but the previous owners nearly always had them available.

Best donuts I?ve had in Fort Worth!

I always get the gyro plate!! With the salad and yogurt dressing. It's delicious!!

Was in town for a drs appointment and my son was hungry for donuts before we went to have lunch. Y'all.... These donuts are AMAZING! these are the softest donuts I have ever had in my life. It was like a pillow of heaven. We ended up going back a few minutes later with my mom and nephew and the lady sold her 2 dozen donuts for $9! She said around this time they start discounting the donuts because they close at 3. The sausage kolache was also amazing! Will definitely stop here when we're back in town.

Great food. Plenty of parking behind shop. You can get a great meal here for under $10. I had the chicken gyro plus fried okra. Big helping of fried okra. The lady behind the counter said they have amazing apple fritters. Those looked huge and amazing but I'm on a diet. Will go again.

I always enjoy the food Frequently get the gyro plate Burgers are good. The bakery items are outstanding! Never hadca bad cookie, muffin or doughnut

Got the Apple fritters and safe to say they were incredible. And regarding price, it is very affordable! The employees were incredible friends and nice, and I will be coming back for any and all donut or baked good needs!

Paul's is an interesting combination eatery. In the morning you've just GOT to try one of their apple fritters. Then come back for lunch for a gyro. I especially like their two-fer deal: two gyros for under $10. And these are not small affairs; these are generous, piled high gyros! Staff is friendly, food is good and prices are a good value.

I'm going to focus on the donuts, as the food is spot-on. I used to stop for donuts on my way to work as far back as when Paul's was on Rosedale. The original owners made donuts that were absolute perfection. Under the new owners, it seems to me that the quality of the product has suffered, such that I don't buy there any more. If they cut quality to increase profits, then they are clearly losing customers. People like to eat, and will pay more for good food, rather that pay less for bad food. I'm going to

Very nice comfy cozy spot nice friendly staff. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch items

Placed an order for gyro plates for co-worker?s birthday, some ckn & some lamb. Got all lamb and not everyone can eat that. Called to ask to correct and they refused - even if we took the plates back to them so they could see we did not eat them. The manager said sorry but that?s what you ordered. If you can?t or don?t eat lamb- why would you order lamb. Extremely poor customer service. Just one more thing not as good as it was before it was sold to this group.

I did not like there bacon cheese burger. I was expecting a thicker patty meat, not nothing like what you get at a fast food restaurant. the meat patty didn't have no flavor. First time there today and it was recommended for me to stop by.. Even though the person told me they love thier grilled chicken sandwich..

Walking into this restaurant feels like walking into a friend's house. The staff are kind and thoughtful and the food is delicious. I came by one time right after my son was born. My wife had just been allowed back on solid food and this is what she was craving. Despite not serving breakfast anymore, the chef kindly made the burritos for my wife, which meant more than he could have known. Lifetime customer.

Been going to Paul's for a long time. It was the first place I ever had a Gyro. I still order one when I come by for lunch. Their breakfast tacos are awesome. The super breakfast taco is huge! I order mine with bacon and they are not greedy with the amount of meat they serve with any dish. Donuts, pigs in a blanket, apple fritters are always good too! If you want a blueberry muffin, it's only served on Friday's.

The blueberry fritters are absolutely the best f?ing donuts I?ve ever had. Simply amazing. The gyro?s are also amazing. Great great place to go. Very friendly staff!!!!! One of Fort Worth?s best hands down.

The GF asked me to pick up a lunch for her, the chicken gyro salad that she gave me a few bites of was amazing! As was the gyro i ordered, all the pastries and kolaches looked amazing will definitely be coming back. Ive heard the burgers are great as well

Absolutely delicious! I had the gyro combo plate and a blueberry fritter (shared with my husband!). The tsatziki and Greek salad was so delicious!

The breakfast is delicious, very reasonably priced, and the is nice and clean. It is visible and easily accessible and staff is friendly. It's not your upscale retro place but it is easy on the eyes. But the ladies bathroom, however could be a little more ADA friendly. I liked it and will tell others about it.

A gem in Fort Worth. Great breakfast tacos and breakfast plate that won't break the bank. Friendly, family owned. They know your name when you're a repeat customer, and that's basically 90 % of who walks in the door. So, you'll hear the owners constantly greeting people by name. Gyros great, big burgers, etc.

Donuts are excellent. Cookies are delicious. Gyros are amazing. Grilled chicken salad is great. Good service. Lunch rush can take a little bit of time, but overall more than worth the wait.

Independently owned donut and gyro shop. Most locals living near this place love Paul's. For breakfast, there's usually less than 2 people in line so it's a quick place to grab some juice, coffee, and a pastry in the morning. The staff is friendly and they know all their regulars. One of my favorite is the fried apple fritter. It's a huge bargain and will leave you stuffed.

Great and delicious gyro!! Awesome portion on the meat!!!

Update; there's new owners, quality and quantity has changed. Before I would walk out with 2-3 bags of food with donuts and kolaches and I would be at about $50-. Now, I bought 3 double ?? cheeseburgers, 2 gyro's, 2 ?? fries, and 2 boudin kolaches type, 2 apple fritters and I walked out paying $56-. I know inflation has hit hard, but no. The quantity has very small, ?? gyros where with barely any meat, fries where burnt, burgers where average, and the apple fritters where burnt on the outsides , the boudins

I moved to the neighborhood about a year ago and discovered Paul's , it's amazing the food is great there always friendly. The owner really makes an effort remember who you are. They're super breakfast tacos are awesome. Anyone that gives this place a bad review curmudgeon. Where else can you buy a hamburger and donuts the same time impossible. Love it!

This place is great. Have had them for breakfast and Lunch and everything they do is awesome. Will be going back every time I'm in the area.

Since the sale of Paul's a couple of years ago the gyros are no longer the best in town. The onions are no longer grilled and the pita bread is cold. As a 20 year customer I find this disappointing.

This place has completely fell off with quality and taste within a year since I had first discovered it. The guy is rude, who I'm assuming is the manager or owner, the woman who takes the orders is nice however the cooks seem to change often, so does it taste. Get your donuts and keep going.

Had a great experience there. Went to a bible study in one of the rooms they let us borrow. Very nice of them. Breakfast tacos we're excellent as well as the Apple fitters.

This small venue is home to us for authentic tasting gyro's! Been a patron for over 14 years and always will be. Afterall, they only have the BEST selection of donuts in Funky Town????????.

Decent food, depending on what you get. Their Kolaches are great. The Donuts are ok. Their mediterranean food is not very authentic or special. Good customer service as a family small business. Locals seem to love it.

Fabulous apple fritters, the best anywhere, and donuts. Sometimes somewhat slow getting orders out, but they make everything fresh. A local place of the South Side that's easy to drive by if you don't know it is there. (They need to upgrade their sign, but most of their customers know where they are.)

Paul's has the best breakfast tacos! The sausage is the perfect amount of spicy and the tortilla is soft and you can tell authentic, not store bought! I order the sausage breakfast taco and my husband orders the super sausage breakfast taco (includes potatoes). This is our favorite spot to hit for breakfast.

Good cinnamon roll & wide selection of beverages (coffee, donuts, cinnamon rolls, etc). 1/5/2021 return visit... Worst cup of coffee I have ever had. After watching help pour old coffee into a third of fresh brewed coffee and filling my cup it was terrible with a stale extra strong taste I had to throw it out, she must not be a coffee drinker. Now I definitely won't be ordering coffee from Paul's again.

Great neighborhood place for breakfast and lunch. I've been coming here for years and the food is always really good. Excellent for take out or for a sit down meal. The staff is is really friendly and welcoming.

Their Gyros are WOW good. Best Gyro I've had in Ft Worth hands down and deserving of six stars if I could. Didn't try anything else the last time I was there.

Good selections. Muffins are soooo good, all flavors so good.!! Salads are delish!! One suggestion is that the chicken is so plentiful on the grilled chicken salad but it?s dry as hell!! Frfr!! Please go easy on the grilled chicken, leave a little juice in the chicken. Thank you. Customer service excellent!!

Very good donuts. Service is good and friendly.

Here right now 9:33am. Food might be good, but would be better if they didnt have little flies flying around the pigs in a blanket. Tried to snap a pic but a guy in fromt of me ordered and when the lady grabbed them they flew away from the glass and pastry they were chilling on?

I came here to get a drink as I was waiting for a friend to finish with a doctor's appointment. Nice selection of beverages. Not crowded. Nice, clean, cool and quiet place to be. Good breakfast and lunch menu with plenty of options.

I just came here today for the first time. I had ordered a chicken gyro combo. When I got my food, I just asked do you cook the chicken with the pork products? At that point, I was informed they cook everything on the same grill unless asked prior to the order. I do take accountability that I didnt ask at first, so I decided to pay for another one. Now while I was waiting, 2 other gentlemen who came after me and ordered lunch food like myself got theirs first. I had to wait for more than 35 minutes just to
