Not sure why other people are saying old donuts, I?ve gotten here at 11 AM an hour before close and their donuts were fresh and great. Best glazed donuts and donut holes in town! Plus they make them every morning fresh. Also, why would you expect a donut place to constantly stay open until 12 PM, they sell out very quickly because these are the best donuts in town. They usually have donuts until around 10-11AM, but sometimes get sold out by 8 AM.
Have you ever had a craving so bad that you just had to go get it. I haven't been able to get to that place since March. It's just something you got to have it when you want. I'm sure people from around here understand.

I absolutely love these donuts! They are the best I've ever had. I moved away many years ago but every time I come home this is one of my must go to places.
Friendly, honest, hometown atmosphere. Get there early (opens @ 3:30 am) for best selection! Not fancy just amazing donuts. Staple drip coffee to complement the savory treats!

Used to like this place but the last three times we have been there the donuts have been so old that the microwave does not bring them back to life. Bad part is the other shops in town are no better. Have decided we will replace donut day with rhodes cinnamon rolls in the freezer section of walmart.
The donuts were amazing. My husband's family is from the area and that was a spot he had to go by. We had an assortment, and they were all delicious. Would definitely be in line the next time I'm in the area.
This place is a true Sedalia legend!!! The most amazing, consistent, and delicious doughnuts known to man. I went to elementary school next door and have the fondest memories of eating there, and the smell to this day still hits me the same. Love Papa Jakes.
The BEST homemade donuts in the world.! So tender and delicious! I will always choose papa jakes over literally any donut place.! I think they just make everything with love and it makes everything soooo much better!

Made fresh daily. Small place however the wait is never long...always have multiple people to wait on you. Different flavors like blueberry, apple cinnamon and devil's chocolate on different days. Friendly people fast service great price and AMAZING DONUTS.!!!
Showed up over an hour before closing and the place was locked up and said out of donuts. These small businesses wonder why everyone is going to Walmart

Well I haven't been to Papa Jake's in a long time. Just had in the area so I thought I'd stop and pick me up a couple donuts picked up a twist and a jelly filled came up to 325 pretty expensive for two donuts. It's sad I used to love the place they're donuts were bigger before now they're small and more expensive. It's not a bad stop to pick up donuts are always fresh, little expensive for my taste and smaller than expected.
Staff is always so friendly and doughnuts are always so yummy! Will continue to support a local doughnut shop!??
It would be better if they made chocolate cake donuts more than once a week. They sell out of them so fast that I can't even get them on that day. Not smart business. If I sold out of a product as soon as it hit the floor, I would definitely see that as a need that should be filled. Seriously! Please make choc. cake donuts-they are the bomb!
Good donuts so good they run out really quick get there early. Great customer service very friendly people looks clean only downside is they don't have like pigs in a blanket like other locations but in the name it says Papa Jake donuts
Im a very picky donut person, years of searching for that perfect childhood flavor of donuts from cider mills in Michigan. And dissapointmet set in donut bite after donut bite, how depressing and chalky, airy and tasteless donuts had become. From time in the military traveling I thought for sure I would find it, each new place I moved and on the hunt for that perfect donut I thought I could only get at cider mills. But here no one has them. As I tryed more donuts I accepted perhaps my taste buds had changed
Papa Jakes has been around for a long time. Growing up and spending some weekends and time over the summer there I became I lover of this place. Staff is great, the donuts are always the best and nice verity.
Great donuts but I don?t get why they can?t make more because they sell out before some people even wake up. Every time I try to get donuts which was 3-4 times in the last 4 months, they were either sold out or closed.
This place has been around for decades and you usually have to get there early to get what you want. As far as I know what they serve now is the same thing they served many years ago. Go in there and get a dozen glazed donuts and some specialty Donuts and you're good to go. Right now they don't allow eating inside which is actually nice because they don't have much room anyway.

Toss up between Best and Papa Jakes and went off the slightly higher Google review. Not impressed. Donuts were small and tasted/felt like they were day old donuts and not FRESH.
My mom used to buy their donuts for me sometimes in the mornings before school and on sundays. We lived on 16th, so I passed by this little shop every morning on my way to my elementary school next door and walked by it walking home so it's kind of a nostalgic place for me as a 27 year old. I'm not even much of a sweets person as an adult, but I can never pass up Papa Jake's. I just remember sitting at one of their indoor tables and drinking chocolate milk with a bag of donut holes with my mom.
Best donuts I have ever had! I'm not in Sedalia that often now that I moved to FL, but I try to stop everytime I come home for a visit! If you haven't tried the Yum Yums, do it!
I use to come here years ago and loved this place. Now when I come to visit I bring my family and we all love this place together. AMAZING doughnuts, moist not bready, nice owners and workers, clean place, and great prices. It?s cash only so keep that in mind ahead of time. You gotta try this place you won?t regret it!!

The donuts speak for their self but when you can't get a fresh hot donut at four AM because the work say a that a hard task to go to the back and get it makes me question the costumer service

Always a great selection. Best to stop at 6 am or before though to have the best options. The selection usually disappears because the donuts are so great.

Not only are papa Jake's the best I've ever had the people are so friendly and were willing to take my order over the phone as if I were the next customer in line so I got in got out in 2 or 3 min tops which was vital this morning .. thank you so much papa Jake's.. wonderful atmosphere!!
All I got to say is if you pay for something you better make sure it's in the bag before you leave they have a tendency to charge you for stuff that you don't get in your bag they short-changed your order that's why it's been that long since I've been there over three months
Delicious donuts and that aren't expensive.
My experience was very pleasant, it was after hours they were closed with the open sign on and i sat down on a bench and rested for a second.
