Pan Lourdes Bakery

Pan Lourdes Bakery

Reviews Summary

The bakery receives mixed reviews, with many praising its delicious bread, pupusas, and affordable prices, particularly noting the quality of Salvadoran pastries and friendly service from some staff. However, several customers criticize poor service, especially from one cashier described as rude and impatient. Hygiene concerns and language barriers (some staff not speaking English) are also mentioned as drawbacks. While some appreciate the variety and freshness, others complain about long wait times, unprofessional behavior, and even finding a cockroach in their food. Overall, the food quality is often praised, but inconsistent service and cleanliness issues detract from the experience for some.

Customer Reviews

I was in town for business, I love pan dulce, so I thought I would give this place a try. Worst mistake of the day! I bought 6 pieces, hoping to share with colleagues. Epic fail, they were so old (probably from last week) they smelt like rotton yeast. They were extremely dry and crumbly (bread should be spongy). Needless to say, I did not give them to my colleagues. However, I did give all of them to a peddler who was more than content to have something to eat. One of my colleagues went with me, and we chat

Unassuming Central American bakery with a large selection of pastries for surprisingly low prices. They can also do custom cakes-- I ordered a tres leches for my husband's birthday, and they did a fantastic job and made it super moist. The staff are very friendly too.

If you like good strong coffee you need to go here baked goods are sweet and fresh

i just left the store and had the worst experience i waited 40 min for 2 pieces of bread mind you they owe me one from 3 weeks ago when they charged me for 3 and only gave me 2 i was cool about that but today the lady in the front has no respect for people time waited 30!plus min for 2 orejas that came out to 4.50 she tells me in a very annoyed voice the minimum is 5 if i can get something else after i just waited 40 min for 2 breads that?s not how you treat costumers at all just looked at her with disbelie

I stopped by for tamales y tacos. #Delicious On my next visit. I will try some of the pastries. The staff is bilingual

We ordered a cake and it was delicious. They also have sweet everyday. We bought a few pieces and they were great. We will definitely go back. The ladies who run speak Spanish and they were super friendly.

The prices are good, but there is no menu and no prices listed anywhere. Two ladies work there, but one doesn't speak any english at all, which is ok, but can be frustrating if she's the only one working If you don't speak good Spanish, then you're likely going to get bad customer service I've been here at least 6 times just looking for one specific desert. As tasty and good value and that desert was, the inconsistency of desert availability, lack of menu and pricing, and communication issues prevent thi

The place is small and don't have chair to sit down.

I've only had the baked goods.....I don't get all the 1 star reviews. Yes the staff don't all speak great english (or in some cases, none at all), but this is a local community bakery that actually sells great stuff at more than affordable prices. I dont get the hate, the value for $$ here is incredible. I always stop in for some cookies/cake/sweet bread, it's hard to spend more than $5!

Pastries are delicious, people are very nice, and it's super cheap!

they can?t understand the English language (in person or on the phone).

The cookies and other treats were great. When it came time to check out I thought that they had miscalculated because the price was so low. This is got to be the most affordable and yummy bakery in Washington DC.

Such good food!! I recommend going with something off of the menu- just ask what they have for a full breakfast plate and it is all great-good popusas too!

After a few years buying sweet bread, Pan Lourdes is my favorite, specially the small cacedillas. This is my second review

I love everything here especially the cakes! The young lady who works there is extremity nice.

Best 3 Leche cakes ! Pupusas are delisous. Mexican tortas with avocado very good Big variety of pastries.

Great place to come and get pan dulce. Customer service is great friendly atmosphere.

Delicious Hispanic bakery with affordable prices and a kind woman who runs it. What else could you ask for?

Really bad customer service I wait 30 minutes and I never got my stuff I think only one person works in the whole place

Disappointing, everyone pretending not to speak english. Un-Welcoming. To many other inclusive bakeries to spend money at and be welcome to shop at.

They open at 6 am . There service is great. Good food.

Purchased pupusas with curtido and pan dulce. Excellent and service was good

Terrible service waited 10 minutes and still not help walked out

Small bakery with nice goods -- come early when they are fresh as they can get old during the day.

Really good pan! Pupusas are not too good.

They have good cookies and cake ?? ????????

Omg Good customer service and good breakfast

They don?t speak English and that means they can?t be of service to everyone. Disappointing.

Jerk chicken fix.... Great tasting and great flavor.

Good place to get pan dulce.

Delicious bread. Reminds me of my neighbor?s pan

Can get different type of bake produced there

The woman at the counter is Rude.

Yummy and inexpensive pastries

(Translated by Google) The quality of the bread and the prices deserve 5 STARS, but this one star comment is because of the administration as a customer you do not want to wait 20 minutes waiting to be served or buy only BREAD and clarified the people who work at the bakery on Georgia Ave. are very very friendly. The frustrating thing about the place is the waiting time that is due to the fact that there is only one person working, especially during hours that are known to be busy. (Original) La calidad de

(Translated by Google) My experience is always somewhat discouraging. I like the bread. Everything is good. The only thing is the cashier and she is the same one who gives the things. She is unpleasant. She swallows the customers disgustingly. I witnessed a customer accidentally throw the coffee and she made a horrible gesture at him. He apologized and she kept muttering. I think that is not ethical. One should always say, "It's fine. We'll clean it. Don't worry." I shouldn't continue serving people. (Orig

(Translated by Google) They sell some very salty bean tamales and then the sour chicken tamales and when you tell them that the tamales are not in good condition, the people who serve them get very angry, before the service was good, the bread and everything and now they have lowered the quality, they should pay more attention to what they sell the owners should give training to their employees how to treat their customers, I hope they improve and if not then they close their business and are not selling so

(Translated by Google) The service is disgusting. I arrived to buy bolillo bread and had to wait 20 minutes while they attended to their breakfast sale. To then tell me that I had to wait 20 more minutes because the bread I had was for their breakfasts. The service was completely disgusting, that disgusting blonde. Since they were wishes?? unfortunately they left me wanting lol but, I hope next time things go better even though I don't think I'll go there anymore and for them to tell me if you don't see games there I can't sell you. that made me feel very sad?? (Translated by Google) What a pity the staff that attends is supposed to be that if they put a phone number on the web side it is to place an order but a crazy uneducated woman told me that if I had nothing to do I should stop screwing her, what kind of employee is that woman who answers. Wow, I would like to make a suggestion to the owner. Because this scares customers away, that is not a good service, first train people to serve the costumer. It's a shame there are people like that (Original) Que lastim

I like their breakfasts....what I don't like is eating there because there is a lot of smoke every time I arrive, like they are letting something burn and I also always see a lot of mosquitoes in the bread cabinets and I'm like I'm going to leave because if the cabinets that are the appearance are frowned upon, how will it be inside where we can't see......
