Orion Donut & Kolache

Orion Donut & Kolache

Reviews Summary

The reviews show a mix of experiences, with many praising the friendly service, fresh donuts, and delicious kolaches (especially chorizo and chicken enchilada flavors). Several highlight the owners' kindness and clean establishment. However, some criticize high prices, inconsistent quality (especially kolache fillings), and occasional poor service. Customer Reviews

I went in to buy a couple of things?had never been here. While the guy was getting my things ready I wanted to see if their chocolate was good. I literally told the guy ?I?ll pay for one to try? he goes and gets the lady from the back and she literally comes out yelling ?nothing is free you buy.? I told the lady that I said I would buy one but at that point I was so mad at the audacity of the lady to think I was asking for something for free. But this was all over an DONUT HOLE. I?ve never been in a donut

The are some of the best Kolaches I've had. The pepperoni and mozzarella one is delicious. If you ever get the chance to try the chicken enchilada one...please do so! It's the best one but they never have it sadly.

Avoid at all costs. Donut holes, 1 regular croissant, 1 cake donut, 1 Gatorade and a water was over $25. Then I get receipt and there is an ?admin fee? of $7.20. What?!?! Never told anything. Staff seemed very sneaky. I would almost guess that these fees are added on every purchase. VERY VERY BAD. Donuts super stale as well.

I love this place. They have a great selection of Kolache, Sandwiches, donuts (cakes, holes, and regulars). They have special prices if you order a dozen (gifts for coworkers). But my favorite part is the drinks. They have coffee (ice and hot, including Chai, and espresso), smoothies, veggies juices, and my favorite fruit juices 100 % natural, and made at the moment. They don?t have much space inside just a couple of tables, but most of the crowd order to go either way. If you like Kolache or Donuts? you ce

Expensive for a donut shop, regardless that they have specialty kolaches. The ingredients in the kolache (buns) aren?t anything special. Donuts are meh. And the owner feels they can upcharge for ?market conditions? (literally made this comment out loud), but then they also charge for using a credit card on a $25 order. That?s just an extra 3% tax or inflation, BTW.

I have been picking up I Heart Kolache from the Midway location every Friday for the last 6 months for my office staff. They come stuffed full of yumminess and a favorite of the entire office. When I found that I Heart had a location down the street from my house in Frisco, I was so excited to share the experience with my kids. Boy was this a huge disappointment. sadly, all three times I have been, it's like eating a big dough puff with just a few morsales of yumminess. For whatever reason, they only p

I Heart Kolache is an aesthetically pleasing place that has really delicious Kolaches with a wide assortment of beverages. I'd recommend this for the typical business man to the hipster teenager. (I'm biased because this is a family business but it's good I promise!)

I think this place got bought by new owners. I don't think they make good food, their ingredients have gotten cheap. But some people will like it because they don't know what tastes good. Well, here I am again I thought I would attempt another visit. But as I find this place hasn't got no better, it's just a donut shop nothing special about it don't good food it's all cheap ingredients. It's gotten to the point where you can tell because when it's owned by the top of people that owns it now you know I alwa

They?re really good although the egg has too much salt, same with the chorizo besides that the establishment is nice & clean! the doughnuts are good too ??????

I imagine rent is expensive. Paid $50 for 2 dozen donuts that were standard fare. Not specialty donuts at all. I guess pay premium cause of location next to The Star. But won't go back.

Very clean, but they open at 0600. I was granted access at 0612, and everything I wanted was not ready. Then I ordered an espresso coffee and recieved literally a gulp of a hot beverage. I had to hear their excuses as to why nothing was ready and had to hear their reasoning for the small amount of coffee. It is much better to take yourself somewhere else where excuses are not a common trend, rather than spending your money at this establishment!!!

I take my son for a donut every Friday as it?s been our tradition since he was little. When we first moved to Texas, we wanted to find a donut shop and Orion went way beyond expectations. Hands down best donut we?ve ever had and the kolaches are top notch. Not to mention, the staff is incredibly kind.

This is a small coffee place that sells good donuts and kolaches. Came here with my son and he loved the chocolate donut. They?re very polite and nice. 100% recommended. Forgot to mention it was super clean.

We love everything about Orion Donut & Kolache. We love their croissant sandwiches, chicken enchilada, donuts, coffe, smoothies. Anne who owns this lovely place is such an amazing person. She is enterprising and always warm and cheerful. One more thing, they make alphabet donuts and we had those for my daughter's birthday party. They were soft and so delicious. We are so happy to find this place. It's more than a donut, kolache shop, its our family space??????

The lady that owns the business is very kind. I had only visited 2 times and she made me feel special by recognizing me and knowing the drink I had ordered the last two times. The doughnuts, coffee, smoothies and breakfast sandwiches are all amazing. I even recommend this place to my work and when they ordered everyone was very impressed with how high quality and fresh everything was.

What a great little place! In addition to the standard breakfast versions like egg, cheese, bacon, sausage etc., there was a great variety of interesting kolache flavors - Barbecue, Philly cheese steak, Chicken Enchilada and others. (I tried the Chicken Enchilada, and it was fantastic.) Also a small selection of croissant donuts, with one of the tastiest glazes I've had (just a touch of salty in addition to the sweet.) We didn't try the coffee, but it looked great, with a variety of specialty coffees. W

Top tier! The cake donuts and kolaches were incredible. Picked up a mixed batch for work. I don?t usually enjoy donuts, but I?ll definitely be enjoying donuts from Orion more frequently. The lady there was incredibly polite as well. Thank you Orion.

Mango Smoothie Please!! I love this donut shop. I have tried every donut and kolache that doesn't contain spicy ingredients. Bear claws, blueberry donuts, old fashions (buttermilk), mozzarella and pepperoni kolaches, bbq brisket kolache, ham and cheese croissants, the list is really amazing. I promise you the greatest test I ever performed with their menu was the Plain Cake donut. No sugar or frosting on top, just plain cake will put every other shop to shame. Truly the best donut shop on Earth.

Great service, great donuts, but these filled bun things are awesome- we got the sausage egg and cheese one and my picky 3 year old ate the whole thing, and some of mine! It is so delicious, makes me want to try the other flavors like philly cheesesteak or chicken enchilada. Very clean place too, very cute setup. Try it!

I always make it a point to come here when I'm in town. Ann is so sweet and always remembers mine and my friend's name and asks about the otner if one of us doesnt come in. The food and coffee is always so so good and fresh too! Never had a bad experience 15/10 stars <3

The bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and all kolaches are delicious! The service was great and fast! Very nice atmosphere!

Amazing doughnuts and food! Great and extremely friendly staff as well. I try to come each week and get myself a little coffee. Support your local business!

Perfect kolaches, neat and clean shop, and the friendliest family running this place. Love it, so worth the stop. ?? Hit the spot!

Greatest bakery in the area! Great atmosphere and super kind owners with a ton of knowledge. My child loved everything that Natalya recommended for us.

Nice people with great service. Very delicious kolache. I love chorizo, jalape?o sausage cheese and ham mozzarella are my favorite.

It was all okay and a little more than what we would usually pay in other places. I don?t plan on coming again.

Chorizo kolache was really good. One of the best I've had and I was impressed. Props to the chef!!! Highly recommend

I really liked the Chorizo and Chicken Enchilada Kolache. My son really liked the chocolate donut.

I love this place! I go here every other morning got sausage rolls and coffee got breakfast before work :) staff is so friendly

Stopped making bbq beef and simple ham and cheese Kolachi. Don?t waste your time like I did. Egg in everything.

The food was great... but way too expensive. I could've bought the same thing for half the price almost anywhere else.

Everytime I come here I forget that they are the most expensive place in town. Their kolaches are smaller and not of the quality of other nearby options.

Clean and friendly staff. Kolaches were ok, but can improve the quality bit more.

The sign and website say the place opens at 6am. I drove here all the way from Denton only to find that nobody is here, door locked, lights out. What a waste of time and gas!

Best Kolaches in Frisco! And the owners are very nice.

These are the best tasting donuts I've had in the Plano area

Nothing out of the ordinary. Clean store. Fritter was tasty

Excellent Kolaches. Went there for lunch.

$24 for 12 donuts?!?

The kolaches and Lattes are great!

Good coffee and donuts..????

i love everything ????
