My favorite donut shop in Pittsburgh! Oliver?s Donuts have just the right amount of crisp on the outside with a wonderful soft cake-y inside. (Why yes, I have thought a lot about my ideal donut.) They have a great mix of unique seasonal flavors and familiar classics, plus plain and specialty coffee to go with them. Can?t forget that it?s a great lgbtq+ friendly business as well!
The vegan Rosemary olive oil was delicious! Appreciate the vegan donuts - they had the rosemary olive oil and an orange olive oil as the vegan options today.
I loved my visit! Delish coffee and unique flavors of donuts. A relaxing atmosphere with comfy chairs. The place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. After your coffee fix you can walk around to find locally made arts and crafts.
Not worth the price whatsoever or the hassle. The service is mediocre and the product less than that. 66 bucks for two dozen donuts that contain no more different stuff than any standard donut shop and they are tiny in comparisons to large city offerings. Go to Better Maid or any non hipster based business and you'll see such a better product for so much better prices. This place gauging people is wrong and hopefully everyone notices and a better shop can go in.
I had the most delicious cortado and the seasonal Honey Cardamom donut. Super friendly service and lovely space.
I really hate to give a bad rating to any restauraunt, but the service at this place has let me down one too many times. Today marks the third time that I have gone up to order from the service window as I normally would, only for no one to come up and take my order. The last two times the window wasn't even open, and none of the employees made a signal on what to do or even acknowledge that I was there when they had clearly seen me. Im not even sure if the window is even usable at this point ? which is a
They serve one donut, with different toppings. It?s a cake donut. Similar to the new fad donut shops. As a donut shop, it?s disappointing. They do a good job with coffee but have few options! I think the biggest draw is the vibe. Kudos for doing the vegan thing. The market concept is cool. You?ll find better donuts elsewhere.
I?d honestly give these donuts zero stars, if that was an option. I bought a box 6 donuts, each a different flavor. I paid $22.00 (included an 18% tip because the counter help was friendly). I tried the coffee one first and it was dry?tasted old! Then I took a bite of each to see if any were good?they definitely were NOT! Horrible and dry and stale!!! Even the glaze looked/tasted old. I?m so mad that I wasted that much money on 6 stale donuts that taste like cardboard and sawdust.
Dry, over-priced hipster donuts. Coffee was acidic and lukewarm. In a place like Pittsburgh with so many classic (reasonably priced) donut shops, why go to this one?
Loveeee the donuts and seasonal flavor coffees. Absolutely best place to grab a treat for your weekend! ???
I love cake donuts! My personal favorite is the cherry chocolate. It has a perfume like taste that somehow tastes very good and unique!
Great donuts with a creative twist on flavor, excellent London fog. Friendly staff and bright interior. Cool retail concept in shared space.
Had the pumpkin doughnut and the vanilla doughnut. The vanilla one was the best (and available year round). The staff was friendly and prompt. Ended up also getting a latte. I recommend using the service window on the side of the building, since the inside can get a bit crowded
Finally got a donut on my fourth attempt. The times posted on social media for when to expect donuts was really inaccurate and you can't call and ask for availability. Got a huckleberry donut. It was good, but not $4.50 good. Seriously, the prices for their donuts are just outrageous. $42 for a dozen. I'm not upset that I tried it, but I'm never going to buy from here again unless the prices come down significantly. There are plenty of donuts in town that are just as good for cheaper.
Great donuts but a little pricey. The chocolate cake donuts (chocolate chai, chocolate sea salt, and death by chocolate) are really lovely.
Tried the huckleberry donut- very yummy and fresh! I want to come back for coffee next.
I mean.... Look at these beauties! The 2 in the back are chocolate/ sea salt, the 2 in the middle are vanilla, bottom left is chocolate maple bacon and bottom right is Huckleberry. These cake donuts are delicious, flavorful, decadent, and fried perfectly with just little bits of crunch on the inside/bottom. My favorite is the chocolate sea salt because I absolutely love sweet and salty desserts ??the Huckleberry was a close 2nd because the flavor is incredible! For the quality of the donuts, I think the
Friendly little donut Cafe inside another venue. Donuts were very good and we paired them with the matcha latte.
One word - DRY. If you?re coming here for the donuts, go anywhere else in the city. The building and stores inside are cute and nice to browse, but that?s the only good thing about this place.
On a scale of romances to documentaries, Oliver's Donuts is the romance you expect. I missed the grand opening of Oliver's Donuts a year ago. Ever since then, I've been hoping to get there. This past weekend, I did. Oliver's Donuts is charming in decor with a lovely seating area. I love that they offer coffee-shop-level coffee alongside their cake donuts. The chocolate chocolate cake donut was decadent. Parking is street, and there is a lot (though I didn't check to see if it includes Oliver's Donuts. I
i spend a ton of time in oliver?s donuts, and it?s one of the best places for coffee and to work from virtually in lawrenceville. i literally haven?t had a donut like this before, they are absolutely delicious and the coffee is top tier too!!! i?m a self proclaimed coffee sob and i?ve never had a bad cup of coffee here. the whole staff is super nice. really glad they?re apart of the lawrenceville community.
The matcha was so bad I can?t believe they serve that to customers. Maybe their other things are better but don?t come here for a matcha latte.
They're pretty good as far as cake donuts go. Slightly larger than standard (angle of my photo makes it look small lol). Crispiness on the outside was nice. I thought they were slightly dry inside but my partner did not. The chocolate one had a little bit of chocolatey goo inside - not sure if intentional, but it was tasty haha. I think it was from the glaze soaking into the hole? Also, they've lowered their prices by 50c each since the previous reviews but I forgot to take a pic.
My wife, on Saturday morning 7/20/2024, asked my daughter and I if we wanted to go try this place. We got there from the south hills around 10:30 AM. This shop is in a small building with other shops, of which the majority were still closed some opening at 11 AM and a few at noon. We got 3 donuts to try and it came to $11.50!! I got a sea salt. The donut was the driest donut I ever had. My wife per hers back in the bag. My daughter didn't say much about hers. For the prices they charge, they need be
Coffee wasn?t great and staff attitudes matched. We asked for our coffees to be made to sit in. They were made in togo cups then poured into mugs. Not worth trying if you are a coffee lover. The barista working did not seem to care
The donuts.. UGH ?? . The playlist ??, the service ??, the baristas ??. This place has it all, remember to tip!! Great place to bring a laptop and ?work? from ?home? ??
I had one of the tastiest donuts I have ever eaten ? it was the vegan ginger with a light vanilla glazed icing.
Super bummed. I?ve been wanting to try this place for weeks. I specifically planned to make the 2.5 mile walk from my house. Arrived at 8:30 and door was locked/nobody at the side order window. Donut case looked practically empty. After reading reviews, not sure I?ll try it after all. Check out Brooklyn Bagel right down the street. Their vegan blueberry donut was to die for.
The Donuts are dry and expensive. You want them to be good because the flavors sound very interesting and are unique but they are not.
Great donut shop right on Butler Street. There is a pickup window right outside for grab and go. My favorite is the huckleberry donut!
The kids and I stopped here on Christmas Eve for a snack while we were last minute shopping. The donuts were fantastic and the kids had a nice time relaxing and playing with other kids.
Had the vanilla glaze donut and the pumpkin donut. I really loved the vanilla glaze donut and it had a great lemon tang to it
Very nice place to stop in and have a cup of coffee and a donut. The donuts were really tasty and flavorful. The selection was low at the time I went in there which is probably most likely my fault as it was later in the day but what they had available was well worth the price. Also it is in what seems to be a building that used to be a bank so where there would have been offices there are other little businesses inside there that sell things from books to jewelry. If you're in the area and looking for a l
I really want to like this place and leave a good review. However, the service I experienced today made me decide not to come back. This was my second time here. Let me preface with this: if this was Dunkin Donuts I wouldn't have cared so much. But I came here to support a small local business. I came here for unique and tasty donuts for me and my child as well as good customer service. We were the only ones in the store when we arrived. I ordered the donuts, and we sat ate them from the bag we were given
when I walked in (back door) I wasn?t sure yinz even sold donuts because the donuts were in the corner next to the cash register. $3.50-$4.00 a donut is absolutely criminal. As other reviews have mentioned, the donuts were dry and underwhelming. I?d be fine w this price point if the donuts were better. Out of the four we bought, huckleberry was the best, but I?d still throw it a 7.1/10. Others maybe a 4/10 for being so dry.
Delicious donuts with exceptional flavors. Espresso tonic drink was beautiful and well crafted
Very good donuts but they are a little overpriced. Inside is really nice and a great place to hang out and enjoy a quick treat!
the interior is super trendy which i like, but the donuts were very subpar :/ dry and obviously have been sitting out, same quality as dunkin for x3 the price. the worker who ?helped? me as also off-putting and stand-offish and it was dead when i went.. so i would?ve be more understanding if they were slammed but alas
Amazing donuts and equally outstanding service in a creative, cool and fun co-retail environment. Donuts are always made fresh with amazing quality control. You get your money's worth with these donuts as they are distinctively larger than the average chain. Creative flavors make it worth the visit.
If you're a Lawrenceville dog-owner this is a great place to stop on your daily walk! They have a little service window on the side or you can pop in and take a walk around the independent shops. I also LOVE the atmosphere--it's a really cute cafe with big windows and lots of plants--a great place to work or hold a one-on-one meeting. As far as food/drinks go, I have loved every tea I've tried here even more than the one before. Try an iced london fog or a hot cinnamon plum tea! I'm not a donut person reall
These donuts are beyond amazing and are the best donuts in Pittsburgh hands down. The vanilla is my favorite the depth of the flavor along with the perfect glaze top makes it unbelievably delicious! The new vegan Chocolate Ginger is to die for as well.
$25 for two donuts and 2 coffees? My boyfriend enjoyed the donut he got, but the strawberry donut was sour and I couldn't eat it. Coffee was okay, but hard to mess that up. Cute spot and love the cat on the merch, but way too expensive.
Had the lavender lemon donut. Donut was brightly flavored, with a perfect tender crumb and a balanced sweetness. Couldn?t ask for a better pregame for a Saturday bike ride through town. Espresso game was on point. Will definitely be back again to try the other flavors.
They sold us day old donuts for $3 each. At first I thought maybe they just sell dry, poor quality donuts, but one of the donuts in our box was warm and delicious and all the reviews say they CAN make a good donut. I feel ripped off and they don't even have a phone number for me to call. If you're going to charge so much, don't you dare sell stale donuts from the day before.
Their selection is small but represents variety. Their recipe offers quality details like lemon zest in the batter. The donuts are cake style. The flavors are a combination of flavored toppings and donuts. Their huckleberry donut is a special flavor you can't easily find elsewhere. The price might be higher than you are expecting but if it was shaped like a giant muffin instead of a donut it's actually equivalent.
they were good not worth the price sadly felt they were lacking in quality the base for most was very dry and not very strong flavors definitely fresh fruit was used just didn?t feel like enough for 19$ for 6 definitely better options.
I wanted to really like this place. I like supporting small independent businesses. I only came for the donuts and they were ok donuts. They were fresh for sure. The flavors were ok but for $4 per donut I?m expecting to be wowed. We bought half a dozen so I had a bite of most of the flavors that were offered. Again they were just ok. The cake part was great but just not much flavor overall. I was shocked when I walked in and saw that the donut section was a small case with only a few varieties. Wi
I had a delicious cappuccino and Lemon Lavender donut at Oliver?s donuts today. Both were well worth it. The flavors are unique and the donut itself was a great consistency, sweet and tangy. Highly recommend!
This place is great, the donuts flavors are delicious and the type of donut is a bit unique around here in the best way. These are clearly made with TLC and worth every penny. They also support local businesses and coffee brands outside the normal you?d get elsewhere. Go here for quality, go here for the vibes.
Very pricey so I don't know how often I'd visit. I wish they more variety of flavors but the Huckleberry and Chocolate sea salt are delicious. They are cake donuts and wish they had "fried" ones as well. They should consider it in the future and maybe come a bit down on the price because I doubt a business can remain with prices like that even if they're good. And as for the person that referred to Giant Eagle donuts....Giant Eagle wishes they had quality.
I recently visited Pittsburgh and a friend recommended this place. Check it out, you won?t be disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and the service is quick. They even have a window you can order through if your in a hurry. The coffee was great and the donuts were even better. There are other little shops in the market house (the same building) as well worth checking out as well.
Great products l, and very friendly and thoughtful staff! We got two delicious donuts and a cafe au lait to go, but sat in and ate. We had drinks explained to us in a very friendly manner, we were asked if we wanted in house or to go?service overall was lovely. Great place to support local for sure!
After much awaited anticipation I finally got to try one of their donuts. The donut was good, but there was nothing exceptional about it, at least to justify paying the $4.50 price. I recommend going to the French bakery La Gourmandine down the street a few blocks. You will get better delectable sweets for your money.
Donuts were dry and basic. Drinks were nothing special. Seating area was a mess of tables and chairs jammed into a corner. Server was nice.
My daughter and I are in town for a volleyball tournament and she was so excited to try Olivers donuts. they didn?t have a number for us to call but we figured they were rated so well that we will stop by. Once we arrived there are only 2 donut options left and the young gentleman in the front was pretty blunt and rude. Also how do you have a donut shop but don?t make donuts and limit your selection. We don?t eat much donuts but we figure we?ll try. I honestly will not spend my money or time at this place
Donuts doesn't teste like Donuts. They are expensive, dry and strange taste. The place is nice and so is the staff.
Donuts were great! We had huckleberry and the lavender special. The boyfriend said it was his favorite cold brew he?d had in Pittsburgh. My matcha was also great.
We walked in to this Donut Shop craving homemade donuts. The door was wide open. Unknown to us, until after we were offered a free donut they were closed yet the door remains propped open for some reason or another. You see I was a little preoccupied with the fact that although we wanted to pay for our free donut offer (I like to pay and support small businesses)...I was shocked and reminded I'm on the New Butler Street when I saw I was charged $40 for 1 dozen donuts. We said our goodbyes and said these
Very friendly baristas, good chai, and the donuts are absolutely killer. Esp the sea salt chocolatr and huckleberry! I haven't have huckleberry in years and their huckleberry donut took me right back to being a kid again eating huckleberry pancakes :) the price is a bit high, esp for the size of the coffee, but the donuts are large and do well overnight so I'd definitely say it's worth it as a treat
I was waiting inside for 40 mins to get my pick up order which said it ready for picking up 50 mins ago, then staff came to say there is no order for me actually but another guy told me twice they were making it for me. I understood there is some preorder rule on website and I miss reading it, but when another staff finally asked me if I still want my order, I said yes, then they just grab the leftover donuts from the bags they were going to throw out. The way they fixed the issue is just not make any sense
Donuts are amazing! Coffee not so much. Make sure to try the exotic flavors they have. Worth giving them a shot
The space is beautiful and the doughnuts are even better. I think the most well executed is the chocolate sea salt (which is delicious), but the classic vanilla is my favorite. You know the doughnuts are good when the vanilla is the best. I stop by all the time for a coffee and a doughnut. Check out the bookstore across the hall too!
Disappointing donut especially when they?re $20 for 6 donuts. They?re cake donuts and were pretty dry throughout and the chocolate flavor didn?t come through very well. The huckleberry wasn?t my favorite flavor either idk I?m sad tho
Love the atmosphere. My new go to neighborhood coffee shop. Great place to get some work done and browse great wares by local vendors. Doughnuts are delicious!! Glad to have found my new go to coffee shop.
I mean... It's an expensive donut shop but that's to be expected in that area... However... They never have the most popular donut which I find odd. Also ... the donuts I have had here were kinda dry..but they were okay. I don't think I'd pay that much for a donut again but glad I tried it.
The donuts were good as well as the drinks, but the donuts were on the expensive side. The seating is nice.
I had a latte and a bite of my friends donut. It?s a pretty chill spot but nowhere to sit. meow ?
Not my favorite donuts.
Good donuts and unique flavors! My favorite was the chocolate. When I went all the donuts were the cake kind but I wish that they had the raised kind of donuts.
Best cake donuts in town! Huckleberry makes it into my dreams. Very chill staff and a nice quiet environment to enjoy a chat, coffee, and donut
Great coffee, great donuts. Donuts are maybe a little pricey but they are very good.
This was the second and last opportunity I give to this cafe. The location is nicely set up, but donuts are dry and expensive. Also, the coffee machine was broken so...
I had these donuts at the veggie fest and they were delicious and the workers were extremely kind!
I?m not a big donut person but am a serious coffee lover and their coffee was super delicious! The space is a cozy spot to hang out and check out all the unique tiny shops in the building.
Lemon lavender + huckleberry are incredible- they deliver!
The donuts were very dry.
Amazing donuts friendly and attentive staff. Love getting my donuts and coffe in the morning here. I Would highly recommend trying if your in the area.
Delicious donuts and loved the carrot cake donut.
As primanti brothers roast beef sandwich, perogies plus pierogies and mineo's pizza, oliver's donuts are a pittsburgh staple and are the best!
The huckleberry donut is my favorite donut of all time and the ambiance of the Lawrenceville Market House is ideal!!! Great new spot in the burgh!
Disappointing. The cake of the donut was a bit dry. The staff were aloof and lacked the basic customer service skills. Don?t waste your money.
I got a donut and a London fog tea. Both were delicious and the space was comfortable. Friendly and kind service.
Awesome little place- the coffee and doughnuts are great, and I also loved the other shops in the space
I?ve now been there every time I visit Pittsburgh! Amazing flavors and the coffee is pretty great too!
I love that you can walk up to the window outside while walking your dog!
Delicious donuts (I had the Huckleberry which was super flavourful) in an awesome setting
These donuts are AMAZING! Not too sweet, flavorful, and worth every cent
3 donuts cost almost 14 dollars. They were just average. We will not return!
